Best Practices for Social Sustainable Development in Emerging-Market K. Jayakrishna* School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT Vellore University, Vellore, India

Abstract The idea of social sustainable development is linked to the notion of global economic growth. Our Common Future collects a progressive view of economic development, entailing social justice, income distribution, full employment, safe and healthy working environment, environmental protection, among other issues. The need to prioritize social sustainability has never been more urgent than it is today. This is particularly true in emerging markets, which are entering a period of mass urbanization that could dramatically raise productivity and standards of living, but that also poses environmental and other threats that could significantly reduce the benefits of growth. Many emerging markets have achieved economic growth by adopting sustainable resources consumption but there is a lack of a widely accepted framework for evaluating the success of these emerging markets. The authors have evolved a framework known as, Social Sustainability Development Index (SSDI), to help the stakeholders in emerging markets to identify the sustainability approaches that can be adopted in their markets. The SSDI is designed to measure the performance of markets in five social sustainability categories namely how well they are meeting their citizens basic needs, resource efficiency, environmental cleanliness, built environment, and commitment to future sustainability. The philosophies identified in this study are generally valid across all emerging markets and can be adopted by everyone. Keywords: social sustainable development, social sustainability development index, emerging markets.

RAPID GROWTH, LITTLE GUIDANCE ON SUSTAINABILITY Our analysis indicates that 112 emergingmarket cities in India will generate more than 35% of global GDP growth from 2011 to 2025. [1]

GDP by 2025. [2] Cities in these regions lag significantly on social sustainability when compared with cities in the developed world, but they face challenges so different that the benefits of the comparison are limited. [3]

The population of these cities will grow by an estimated 40% over this period, and the average income (measured in GDP per capita, adjusted for purchasing power parity) will more than double from INR 13 billion to 31 billion. As a result, these cities will account for nearly 20% of the global population and about 30% of global

Moreover, the availability of data with respect to social sustainability on emerging market cities, is quite mere and it is also difficult to bench mark them against other smart cities. While the United Nations, the World Bank, and other institutions have made great contributions by developing approaches that measure social

A Study on Leverage Analysis of Nestle India P. Megaladevi*, R. Vasuki, P. Priya School of Management Studies, Jay Shriram Group of Studies, Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, India

Abstract The effect of financial leverage is studied each at a market and a firm level wherever the firm is exposed to each individual and market risk. Financial leverage measures firm’s exposure to the financial risk. Leverage refers to “an increase means accomplishing some purposes”. The concept of leverage is valid in business conjointly. The term leverage is used to explain the firm’s ability to use fixed charge assets or funds to extend the return to its owners, i.e., equity shareholders. The fastened value (also known as fixed in operation cost) and glued come (called operating cost) remains constant no matter the amendment in volume of output or sales. Thus, the employment of a quality or a supply of funds that the firm has got to pay the fixed charge or come includes a wide influence on earnings obtainable for equity shareholders. The financial leverage utilized by a firm is meant to earn a lot of on the fastened charges funds than their relative prices. A high level of financial leverage permits shareholders to get a high come on equity, but they are conjointly exposed to a better risk of great loss, if the return on assets is lower. In this paper a comparative study and analysis of firm’s financial leverage, operating leverage and combined leverage has been done of 10 years i.e. from 2004–2005 to 2013–2014. Keywords: combined leverage, financial leverage, operating leverage

INTRODUCTION Nestle is the world’s leading nutrition, health and wellness company, our mission of “Good food, Good life” is to give shoppers with the most effective tasting, most nutritious decisions in a big selection of food and drink classes and ingestion occasions from morning to nighttime. The company was founded in 1866 by Henry nestle in velvety, Switzerland, where our headquarters are still set nowadays, we use around a pair of 80,000 people and have factories or in nearly each country in the world. The “Nestle Corporation Principle” is at the basic culture, developed over140 years, which reflects the concepts of fairness, honesty and long term thinking. Leverage refers to the debt or the borrowing of the

funds to finance the purchase of a company’s assets. If a business is “leverage” it means that the business has borrowed cash to finance the acquisition of assets. Purpose of leverage is to raise profits; a high degree of leverage gives an enormous push upward to profits. If it properly used, it serves it purpose well and its effects are favorable. The leverage associated with the use of fixed costs assets is noted because the operating leverage, while the leverage ensuing from the use of mounted cost/return to the supply of funds is thought because the monetary leverage. In addition to those two sorts of leverage, one could reason “composite leverage” to

Abstract In present scenario, with globalized market, industries are in need to produce high surface finish of metallic parts at lowest possible cost. Face milling is most adoptive and widely used technology in creating complex surfaces which creates larger surface finish. The current research focuses on determining optimal cutting parameters to create high material removal rate in milling process. These experiments were carried out on LM6 Aluminium alloy reinforced with 10% of silicon carbide particles. The machining parameters which are taken for the present study are cutting speed (rpm), feed rate (mm/tooth), depth of cut (mm) and coolant condition. Frictional factorial design (FFD) technique is used for optimizing process parameters. Experiment was conducted by eight trail runs of two level fractional factorial designs. The mathematical models were developed which were from the experimental data that are generated. Testing of significance of coefficients and adequacy of model is checked and developed by “f” test and “t” test. Research has established the relationship of feed, speed and coolant condition effect on material removal rate. Keywords: face milling process, frictional factorial design technique, machining parameter, material removal rate, optimization

INTRODUCTION In present scenario to cop up with global competency in market with decreased cost, Increasing in productivity and maintaining a higher product quality with customer satisfaction at the same time are the main challenges which manufacturers face today. Selecting optimal machining parameters during the process of machining a component is an important factor which helps in attaining cost reduction and to gain competitive advantage in the present day market.[1] Researchers had proposed studies on the effects of selecting optimal machining parameters for predicting higher material removal rate in milling process and develops an adequate model for machining in milling.[2] The tips that are

used for machining are not designed for re-sharpening or re-usage and these are selected from various types that may be determined by various factors, some of which can be: tip shape, cutting action required, and material going to be cut.[3] When the tips are blunt, they may be removed and replaced to present a fresh one. This will increase the life of the tip and thus extends the life of cutting life.[4] In machining process, most of the mechanical energy that is used to remove material becomes heat and thus it generates high temperature in the cutting region portion. When the cutting speed increases heat increases with it and results in higher

Abstract Women parents are important selection makers in purchasing a product in their own family. Impulse shopping for behaviour of women purchasers of Tirupur District is analysed inside the gift look at. This paper attempts to have a look at the attributes which impacts impulse buying behaviour of women. The effect of diverse attributes of impulse buying factors like advertisements, window vending, advertising techniques, effective fee fixation and many others on women clients are utilized in fast shifting purchaser items. This look at is based totally at the information accrued from the shopping malls, departmental stored and other stores in Tirupur District with the assist of dependent questionnaire. This paper explains the notice level of branded merchandise amongst women consumers and the aggressive gain over others. The observed also analyse the have an effect on of socio-economic factors in buy behaviour. Keywords: attention level, FMCG merchandise, impulse buying behaviour, Tirupur District

INTRODUCTION In these contemporary days, clients do no longer have any cognitive deliberate behaviour while shopping. Impulse shopping for is an unintentional choice to buy a service or product, made simply before a buy. Stores and marketers have long understood that impulse buying impacts income. [1] In impulse shopping for behaviour new client advertising techniques are adopted by way of advertisers, sellers and marketers. A particularly new stream of research investigates impulse shopping for conduct in collectivist cultures [2–4] often evaluating collectivist cultures to individualist and other collectivist cultures. [5] Emotions and feelings play a decisive position in shopping, induced by way of seeing the product or upon publicity to a properly crafted promotional message. As a whole lot 62% of great market sales and nearly 80% of income in sure merchandise are by

impulse buying. In previous research made it is cautioned that clients are susceptible in making impulsive buying for one brand over some other at the same time as shopping. The cause of this paper is to have a look at the impulse shopping for behaviour of ladies as they are decision makers in their own family purchases with special reference to Tirupur District. IMPULSE BUYING Impulse buying in early research changed into designed to outline the concept with many, every so often widely various results. Abstract This study analyses the Working Capital Management potency of Tata motors Limited. The relationship between capital management and profit has been examined victimisation correlation and regression analyses. ANOVA analysis is done to review the impact of capital management on profit. For the study, the annual financial statements of Tata Motors firms covering the amount from 2006 to 2015 have been used. As the capital is incredibly important for the made running of the business and profit, the researcher has targeted in each aspects. The working capital ratios are negatively correlative and debtors, creditors and inventory ratios are absolutely correlative and confirm the profit of the company. Keywords: ANOVA, correlation, regression, working capital management

INTRODUCTION Working capital management is that the management of short term funding necessities of a firm. The funds needed to carry out the day to day operation of a business, for the purchase of raw materials, payment of wages and other such expenses, constitute operating capital. Optimization of capital balance means that minimizing the operating capital necessities and realizing most potential revenues. Efficient operating capital management will increase firm’s free income, which in larid will increase the firm’s growth opportunities and come to shareholders. Even though corporations historically targeted on future capital budgeting and capital structure, the recent trend is that many corporations across completely different industries specialise in capital management potency. [1–5] There is much proof within the monetary literature that gift the importance of WCM. Results of empirical analysis show that there is statistical proof for a robust

relationship between the firm’s profit and its WCM potency. The study also provides vital proof that problems of WCM are {different|totally {different|totally completely different|completely different}|completely different} for various industries and corporations from different trade sectors adopt different approaches to capital management. Firms follow associate acceptable operating capital management approach that's favourable to their trade. Firms in associate trade that has less competition would focus on minimizing the owed to extend the income. For firms in trade wherever there are massive numbers of suppliers of materials, the focus would air maximizing the collectible.
