Ces 4 bijoux-univers évoquent des Orients multiples. Un hommage aux influences qui ont teinté de leurs richesses mélées les grandes routes du commerce. Lors de ses voyages, Christine Delpal, la créatrice de Karawan, se plait à mêler à ses inspirations venues du quotidien à celles de la découverte des collections des musées d’ethnologie. On devine comment les grandes civilisations lui ont inspiré cette collection de bijoux en laiton, métissant passé et présent pour se jouer des frontières. These four worlds of jewellery exquisitely project the oriental influences that came to us via the legendary Silk Route. While travelling, Karawan designer Christine Delpal loves to mingle day-to-day inspiration with her discoveries in ethnic museum collections. We perceive hints of great civilisations dating from ancient times that have fuelled her inspiration for these pieces in brass, in which past and present coalesce and borders blend.
Un alliage de cuivre et de zinc, exempt de nickel. Le laiton est utilisé en Afrique, en Chine ou dans le bassin méditerranéen depuis la préhistoire. Il donne aux bijoux un air de trésor délivré du passé. As a copper and zinc alloy, brass has been used in Africa, China and in the Mediterranean basin since prehistoric times. It conjures up dreams of ancient treasure offered up from the past.

Les hommes de tout temps se sont déplacés et ont commercé avec les peuples voisins. Ces échanges, en s’intensifiant depuis la Haute Antiquité, ont dessiné plusieurs voies de communication reliant l’Europe et le continent asiatique. Le voyage s’effectue le plus souvent en faisant étapes dans les caravansérails. Ces vastes bâtiments construits spécifiquement pour abriter les caravanes, ont inspiré le nom de Karawan authentic.
Men, at all times have travelled and traded with neighbouring people. Since the Classical Antiquity, those exchanges have been growing and have created several communication paths connecting Europe to the Asian continent. Usually the trip was done in stages stopping in caravanserail. Those huge buildings, built specifically to shelter the caravans, gave inspiration to the name Karawan authentic.
