A HELLO BARK
a hello bark from the news editor
HEY KEY CLUBBERS, Thanksgiving is a time to show your appreciation for the things in life that make you the happiest. I’d like to thank Key Club for helping me see the value in community service and for allowing me to meet so many wonderful Key Clubbers in our division and others. Fall Rally was an absolutely surreal experience and I had an amazing time cheering my heart out with all of you guys. Although my voice was practically dead by the end of the spirit session, I was still so proud of our division for giving it our all and for continuing to show sportsmanship throughout the whole day. S-U-P-E-R SUPER STAR IS WHAT YOU ARE! I can’t wait to see more and more Wilson seals attend these Key Club events. Stay tuned for a SPECIAL ISSUE featuring just Fall Rally and all the memories we were able to capture on that day!

RECOGNITION GAWHS Key Club was able to win Club of the Month at the October DCM and the cabinet would especially like to thank you guys, the members, for being the reason why we won this award! Thank you for being dedicated, supportive, and active members because without you seals, our club wouldn’t be as great of an organization as it is today. <3

AIDS WALK
AIDS WALK
On October 23rd I attended the AIDS walk event for key club! It was incredibly fun because we were able to walk for a great cause! In addition, we received snacks and food for every stop including popsicles, coconut water, and chips. Also, we met Tyler Oakley! Overall the AIDS walk event was super enjoyable because everyone in key club got to bond, we had live entertainment and music, and lastly, WE GOT FREE FOOD!!! Jazlyn Yu | Freshman | Member

MARIO KARTC
ARIO KARTC region 13 training conference RTC, also known as Region Training Conference, took place at Arroyo High School on October 22. It was a 6-hour event filled with workshops, lunch, a fashion show, a special visitor (Ed Royce) for Keynote Speaker, and the Region Spirit Battle! RTC Workshops consisted of information such as the history of Key Club, how to become a great leader, Key Club cabinet positions, and many more! My most cherished moment during RTC was having the honor to be “CASUAL MODELS for D35W. It was lively because

Joshua Tong and I were allowed to be ourselves in a ridiculous behavior on the runway. We saved the best for last by concluding the day with a REGION SPIRIT BATTLE! It was a thrilling experience for me, since I got to see how amazing our Seals are at cheering! I would also like to thank all the Seals who came and cheered their hearts out for the spirit battle! RTC was definitely one to remember, and I am looking forward to more events like this! Brandon Yi | Junior| Spirit Task Coordinator

KEY TO COLLEGE
UCLA
KEY TO COLLEGE
Key to College was an event where Key Club members were able to get a TASTE OF COLLEGE LIFE along with exploring the campus. This year, we went to the University of California, Los Angeles and we had the opportunity to attend workshops, tours, and we also got to meet panelists with different majors and personalities. My favorite part of this event was the tour and walking up The Hill just like every other college student. In addition, my tour guides were especially kind and welcoming and they definitely gave

me a lot more INSIGHT INTO COLLEGE. Not only did I explore UCLA, but I got to explore it with so many new people and I met other members from different divisions in soCal . During the service project, we made plarn (plastic yarn) and seniors worked on their PERSONAL STATEMENTS for college. All in all, I think Key to College was a very successful event and members had a fantastic time exploring UCLA. Melanie Wu| Sophomore | Secretary

SPIRIT WORKDAY
GAWHS SPIRIT WORKDAY Finally being able to make my own spirit gear for fall rally was really fun. There were so many ideas and I just wanted to do all of them. At the spirit workday, I was able to make my own tutu and start on a free hugs poster. With all of this in mind, I couldn’t wait for fall rally and I’m excited to win the spirit stick next year! :) Anna Camodeca| Freshman| Member

OCTOBER DCM
OCTOBER spooky spirit DCM
..
Despite the rain, the October DCM still continued as members huddled under umbrellas and took shelter under a covering to continue with the event. Moreover, at this DCM GAWHS Key club was awarded Club of the Month! A huge congrats to our home club! Key Clubbers were able to prepare for fall rally under the guidance of the DLT’s Spirit Task Coordinators who led the members in reciting the cheers.

PRE-FALL RALLY
PRE FALL RALLY 3
#3
At Pre-Fall Rally #3, Key Clubbers were able to learn cheers in preparation for Fall Rally. The Spirit Task Coordinators once again taught members the sealy cheers so that at Fall Rally everyone would be able to participate in the spirit session. In addition, at the very end of the event, D35W seals surprised our LTG, Dylan Tran, with a specially-made thank you video and posters as well. Claudia Chavez, our Event Task Coordinator, said that, “We wanted to THANK DYLAN for all his hard work as our LTG and to show our appreciation for everything he’s done for our division. It was a sentimental moment for all of us as we presented Dylan with our poster and I thought it was really touching seeing the division BOND AS A FAMILY”.

cheering and gearing through service On November 6th, Wilson Seals collaborated with ROWLAND HIGH SCHOOL Elephants at Schabarum Park for spirit gear workshops and cheering sessions. We sold tickets to different stations where members could make their own leis, tutus, and posters. In addition, the Spirit Leaders from both schools taught their respective members the cheers to get ready for Fall Rally. My favorite part about this event was the huge spirit battle we had at the end with Rowland members where we ended the competition by singing to the infamous PPAP song. :) This was probably one of my FAVORITE KEY CLUB MOMENTS just because it was heartwarming to see two schools bond over their love for this organization.
