a message from your PRESIDENT HEY SEALS!
It’s your president here! Thank you all for joining key club! We started off this year great so let’s keep that up! :) I hope that you all can stay in this club and have an amazing time. You definitely won’t regret it! School can be a pain but take a break from your studies and serve the community. Bring your friends with you because EVERYONE IS WELCOME in this club! Don’t forget about fall rally! This is one of the biggest fundraisers/event of the term so I really hope you all can make it! The cabinet will be trying to host more service events closer to you so that it’s more convenient and easier to attend. I can’t wait to see all of your beautiful faces at future events and meetings! If you have any questions, you can come and ask me! I’ll always be here for you guys! :)

A HELLO BARK
a hello bark from the news editor
HEY KEY CLUBBERS, Can you guys believe it’s already been almost two months since we started school? Time flies by so fast! I hope all of you guys are excited for FALL RALLY IN NOVEMBER! Fall Rally was the very first Key Club event I attended and I was so amazed by the atmosphere that was created by all the spirit and friendliness everyone exhibited. Plus, I had a great time with my friends going on the rides at Six Flags too! If you’re curious about registration or making spirit gear, don’t hesitate to ask any one of the cabinet members! We’ll be more than happy to help you out. Don’t forget to continue to come out to the service events and our weekly meetings every Tuesday in Room F2! It warms my heart to see so many members showing their Key Club spirit and I can’t wait to cheer my lungs off with all of you guys at Fall Rally.

ADOPT-AHIGHWAY
come out to our adopta-highway events on the first saturday of every month! Adopt a Highway is a monthly service event where we clean the streets of Hacienda and Colima! This month’s Adopt a Highway was HEARTWARMING to me because I got to see many new seals attend this event. I had a fun time yelling out the number of cigarette butts we picked up while getting to know new members at the same time. Courtney Sy | Junior | Tech Editor

LA DODGERS WALK
On October 2nd, we had a volunteer event at the Dodgers Stadium for the 5K/10K Run! The shift was from 5:30 A.M to 10 A.M. Our job as volunteers was to pour and give out cups of water to the runners at a check point. It was an amazing event, as we got to see athletes with so much perseverance. However, it was very cold, as it was early in the morning, so I’d advise others to make sure to bring a jacket for these types of events! Other than that, my favorite part was making new friends from El Monte, and (disastrously) pouring water using the “Fast Method”. I was especially inspired by these wonderful and talented runners! LA KOREAN FESTIVAL
LA KOREAN festival
The LA Korean festival was a really fun experience for me. I enjoyed being there with so many kind and outgoing key clubbers, and helping out the staff together. One of the activities that we helped out with was cleaning up. If there was a spill in the food court area, we got it cleaned up quickly. My group and I were also at the press center for a while and assisted the staff as much as we could. My favorite part of the event was eating the amazing food and listening to the music with other people! Crystal Kim | Freshman | Member

PRE FALL RALLY #1
PRE FALL RALLY The Pre Fall Rally at Cameron Park was an amazing learning experience for both old and new members. Spirit Leaders from each school in our division led a group of key clubbers in a series of cheers. We learned the rhythm, movements, and words to each cheer, some of which were particularly complicated. However the Spirit Leaders did a good job of teaching these cheers to us by breaking them down into sections. My fa-

vorite part about this event was the HUGE SPIRIT BATTLE we had at the end. Of course, all spirit battles are fun, but this one was especially cool to be a part of because I was able to see all the new key clubbers from our school having fun and screaming their lungs out.
