Hey kiwis! The month of May has been hecticccc. Juggling AP season AND KIWIN’S events. Phew! That’s a lot of work. In the end, it was all worth it. We surpassed our monthly hour goal! Yay us!! Onto to the month of June...SUMMERRRRR!!! Y’all thought you would get a break, but events headed your way. We also had our ‘Welcome to Wonderland’ themed club banquet. The banquet was a blast and I hoped everyone had fun. Anyways, I hope to see even more of you this summer! Adiosss!!!

katy nguyen corresponding secretary Hello! It’s been a while...but I hope everyone ended the school year well. Here’s the long awaited May/June Newsletter :)) Travel safe and I hope to see you guys soon at our summer events.

behind the board Tips It’s almost like being your own president of your own club, be prepared to take members under your wing Be responsible and organized

As committees chair, my main job is to recruit seasonal committee members and to give them a feel on how being on board is like. While giving them a feel to a “board atmosphere,” I am also training potential future board members by exposing them to different specialized positions (event planning, managing money, etc.) A major goal of mine this year is to exhibit myself as an open person who committee members can be comfortable talking with.

Be flexible (know when to be strict and when to be understanding) Have an open mind (see potential in members, be willing to give them a chance, don’t be biased) Communication is VERY important

SUMMER COMMITTEE

Alan Wynn Alan Hey! My name is Alan. I'm glad to be apart of KIWIN'S Summer Committee. I'm excited to be a sophomore this coming fall. Making it past freshmen year was challenging but fun. I learned what to do and not do. Going outside, hanging with friends, and helping my parents really helped me contain my thoughts and myself together. Now that I'm in this club, it gives me a chance to something greater. Everyone is positive and willing to cooperate with each no matter how hard a task is. I hope to have fun with others and help volunteer this summer and upcoming year!

Anthony

Hello hello! My name is Allison Vu and I am a part of your summer committee! I have moved literally almost all around the world, I can speak five languages, and outside of this club you can see me spending time with my friends or volunteering at a nursery for babies and seniors. Up until now, I am going to be an incoming sophomore and I am so glad to be a part of such an amazing club, where we can truly call each other family. Though I am quite new to KIWIN’S, I’m so excited for the incoming volunteering events and socials and making new memories!

Hi! I’m Justin; I’m a rising junior and a KIWIN’S devotee who’s excited to spend this summer and this year working with and for the people who’ve become a second family to me. I’m a diehard fan of unironic enthusiasm, and the spirit and familial atmosphere of FV KIWIN’S has had me hooked since day one. I hope to become a more complete member of this family and of the FV community that’s been my home for most of my life. Outside of KIWIN’S, you’ll find me running, reading, or traveling - but there’s no place I like more than home, so you’ll probably see me capturing the beauty of service on camera at our events!

What’s gucci my gang?! My name is Anthony Dang and I’m apart of Summer Committee to blast things up. I’m an upcoming Senior who just wants to end highschool year the best. And I’ve joined this club to do so! As I first joined KIWIN’S, I was pretty nervous but as I started to participate more in events, it turned out to be a huge family to me. I made so many new friends and get to hangout more with my OG’s that’s in the club! In KIWIN’S, it benefits you by improving your weaknesses and turning it into something strong which could be useful in the future. I’m very sociable as well so please don’t be afraid to talk to me.

Spencer Chuong Spencer

What’s up y’all it’s ya boi Spencer here as a Summer Committee member! I’m so excited to be back volunteering for KIWIN’S for the fun, thrill, and free volunteering shirts of course XD. Being in KIWIN’S helped connect to new people not just in board but with the rest of KIWIN’S and that’s what makes this club amazing. Other than that, here’s some facts about me: I’m extremely wholesome, I can’t hold chopsticks right (I know, I’m a terrible person), I can cry at will which you can see on Snapchat (@chuongspencer48), and I do polls about which is better on Instagram (@chuongspencer48). I hope to help set up the events that will make you all feel amazed and let’s get this bread!

member of the month

NGUYEN NGO

There are many new members who join our club, but eventually leave after a few weeks. This month, a member who stood out was Nguyen Ngo, as he was able to prove that this doesn’t apply to him! Since joining FV KIWIN’S, we have been able to see his passion for the club unravel each event at a time! He’s now a face you can find at many of our events. Nguyen never fails to accept hard tasks, while keeping a positive attitude wherever he goes! Nguyen embodies the true meaning behind a KIWIN’S member and had a bright future within the club ahead of him.

Brian, one of our most passionate members, attends almost all of our events. Whenever he is at events his spirit is never low and is always friendly towards other members. His dedication for this club never fails to amaze me and other members, considering how far he has come in his KIWIN’S journey. With a total of 24 hours, I’m pleased to say that he is our hours most dedicated for the month of May!
