President’s Letter BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Dear Neighbors, As we approach the end of Roselle Park District’s current fiscal year, it is my pleasure to share with you that the District has had another year of great results! The Park District’s management and staff continue to perform their duties within the stated budget while providing a high level of service, as well as many, many enjoyable classes and events for our district residents to enjoy. Being in such a stable financial place makes it possible to continue our upward trend, rolling out exciting plans for the coming year. Watch for many scheduled improvements and enhancements to benefit our residents over the coming months. We are especially proud to announce the District was recently awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. Many long hours went into “getting our house in order” to be able to apply for this distinction. This award is the highest form of recognition given in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, so receiving this honor represents a significant accomplishment. We are especially excited because this award is very seldom awarded to first time applicants. Congratulations to Lynn McAteer, Business Service Manager, and Nicolette Ferraresi, Accounting Manager, for their outstanding work. As residents of Roselle Park District we should be proud and thankful for our dedicated Park management and staff.

Pool season is almost upon us…don’t forget to join, or to renew your pool membership. Kemmerling Pool received a 5-Star (out of 5) overall rating for the 2013 season from SAI, one of the largest lifeguard, swim instructor and pool operator certifying agencies in the United States. Many of our staff from last year are returning, so we look forward to another safe and wonderful summer. Highlights from this brochure which covers program offerings from May through early September 2014 include a call for kids to pack their bags and join us for another fun session of Camp Laugh A Lot summer camp, as well as a new Dance Camp. Our Dance Team had a great inaugural year and look forward to sharing their excitement with both returning members and new recruits. Sinister Finch, one of Chicago’s Western Suburbs premier rock cover bands. Mickey, Steve, Fred & Jeff and Gary play popular Rock & Roll covers from some of the best bands of all time. Fairy and Pirate Party (DC) Friday, June 13 AGES 3 and up Join the Roselle Park District for a sailin’ good time at our Fairy and Pirate Party designed just for kids. We will be searching for treasure, sprinkling pixie dust, dancing, crafting, and playing games. A real fairy and pirate will be joining us for storytelling, singing, and teaching some pirate language. Snacks will be served. Touch-A-Truck (DC) Saturday, June 14 ALL AGES-FREE EVENT Touch-A-Truck puts kids in the driver’s seat, where they can toot a horn of a mighty truck! It is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your children sharing a fun-filled family day. Inspect the equipment and meet the men and women who operate the big rigs. Touch, honk, and climb aboard a variety of specialized vehicles and equipment that are on display. Kids can come and explore their favorite vehicles including semi-trucks, fire engines, police cars, and construction equipment. Indiana Dunes (EB) Friday, July 25 AGES 11-16 Spend the day a the Indiana Dunes in Chesterton, Indiana with 15 miles of magnificent Lake Michigan shoreline with sandy beaches for splashing, playing and relaxing. Pack a sack lunch and bring plenty of sunscreen. Deadline for registration is July 18. The trip will leave from the Westfield Gym, 149 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale, IL. General Pass Information

2014 Pool Passes: All pool pass applications must be done in-person. (No fax, mail-in, or online registration)

• Payment must be made by cash, check, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa. • Please note that children under 9 years must be accompanied by a paying responsible individual 16 years of age or older for Kemmerling Pool entry. • Children who are 24 and older or any other relatives/individuals in the same household will not be included on the family pass. • Parents or guardians must provide a copy of each child’s birth certificate. • Pool passes purchased under false pretenses will be revoked and NO refund will be issued. • There is a $5 charge to replace a lost or stolen pool pass. Passholders should keep their passes from year to year. A $5 fee will be charged to individuals who lost their passes from 2013. • A service fee of $15 per person (maximum of $30) will be issued for all pool pass refunds prior to opening day. No refunds will be issued after opening day. • Anyone not bringing their pass to the pool will be assessed a $3 pass look-up fee.

Roselle Swim School Roselle Swim School Your child will gain confidence and swimming skills that will prepare them for swim team or simply keep you at ease when at the pool. This program focuses on a progression of water skills that increases your child’s confidence in the water as they continue in the program. The skills are designed to challenge each swimmer to reach their full potential. Upon completion, each participant will receive a certificate of achievement. Age ranges are suggested. Skills listed are requirements to pass the level. Registration deadline for each session is the Saturday before the session starts at 2:00 pm. •

In the event of thunder and lightning, staff will hold an optional safety day in the locker room. Please call the weather hotline at 630-671-9261 to check status of lesson. Lesson will still be held in cool temperatures and/ or precipitation as long as no lightning is detected. Due to the limited amount of space surrounding the pool, parents and other spectators will be permitted to sit in lounge chairs on the edge of the zero depth pool and in the concession area only. There will be no make up lessons scheduled for participants that fail to come to their regularly scheduled lesson. In order to ensure low ratios, quality lessons and instructor availability, participants must attend the time slot that they have registered for. All refund requests must be made at least two business days before the first lesson of a session. Please note that there will be no refunds issued after the session has begun. Any refund requested with two or more business days notice, prior to the first lesson will receive a full refund, less $5 for administrative costs

SWIM LESSON TESTING DAY Not sure what level to register your child for? Stop by Kemmerling Pool on Saturday, May 31, between 10 am-12 pm to be tested and placed in the correct swim level. Our staff will be on hand to check the skills and get them in the right level.

Swimmers in this level will focus on increasing their endurance levels for treading water and stroke swimming.

Swimmers in this level are preparing for the Roselle Racers swim team. Focus will be on technique for all four strokes to make them legal for competition. A “mini meet” will be held on the last day of each session for the swimmers to practice racing.

Camp Laugh-A-Lot Summer Camp Discover 10 weeks of amazing fun packed adventures!

Camp Laugh-A-Lot (EB) AGES 5-12 MUST HAVE HAD 5TH BIRTHDAY BY 6/9 Camp Laugh-A-Lot includes a wide variety of children’s programs that combine education and fun, individual attention and group interaction. Soccer Made in America Training Camp (VO) AGES 4-17 The Soccer Made in America Training Camp offers a fully integrated program of soccer techniques and tactics. The camp is designed to teach players proper technical skills while enjoying playing soccer. Professional clinicians will provide five consecutive half-day sessions of soccer instruction and games. Players are divided into groups of ten or less according to ability first and age second. Beginning players will be introduced to the fundamental techniques and apply them in games. Batter up! This program is the fun way to learn the basics of throwing, catching, and hitting for young T-ball stars. Players will develop confidence and experience success in a supportive instructional environment learning age appropriate activities that develop arm strength, throwing accuracy, eye-hand coordination and power. Players should expect to perform stretching, running, throwing, catching, and fielding drills along with hitting off a tee. Bring your glove and a water bottle. Parents are encouraged to participate with the instruction. Only soft and wiffel balls are allowed in the class. This class is a great way to make your child’s t-ball experience more successful and enjoyable. Rained-out dates may be rescheduled for a different day of the week or moved indoors. Youth Sports Lil’ Kickers (VO) AGES 3-4 Parents will get a kick out of their child’s first instructional soccer class. Emphasis will be placed on following directions and learning the basic skills of soccer all while having fun! Lead-up games involving running, kicking, dribbling, and passing will be played weekly. Tumbling Times Gymnastics Classes

This class will prepare your child to play in our Mid-Suburban Soccer League. Emphasis will be placed on learning the basic skills, strategies and rules of soccer all while having fun! Lead-up games involving running, kicking, dribbling, and passing will be played weekly. Classes will be held outside, weather permitting. Players will need to wear plastic shin guards. Don’t forget to bring your size three youth soccer ball and water bottle. Classes may be moved indoors to the Clauss Recreation Center gym due to inclement weather or rescheduled for a day of the week other than scheduled. Youth Sports

Children and adults universally enjoy learning the art of karate. Classes are taught by Illinois Shotokan Karate Club’s expert instructors under the direction of John DiPasquale, fourtime National Champion, U.S. Karate National Coach and President of the National Karate Federation of the U.S. Beginner students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met. Registration for continuers through advanced students will be accepted after the start date, but the full class fee is required. PRE-KARATE (4-7 Years) Young children will develop agility, strength and coordination skills through fun and creative activities. This program, specifically designed to work with growing minds and bodies, enhances memory and agility skills, too. Watch your child blossom while learning karate and having a blast at the same time! YOUTH|ADULT KARATE (8 Years & Older) Karate builds coordination, agility, strength and poise, as well as establishes lasting personal safety skills. The mental aspect of karate is equal to if not greater than the physical. Practicing this art results in increased self-esteem, in addition to enhancing discipline and control. These lessons will use a skill-based approach to develop all aspects of an individual’s tennis game. Innovative programs have been developed to accommodate a variety of ages, skill levels, and goals. Lake Park Head Tennis Coach Tim Martin will lead a staff of experienced coaches and players to improve athletes of all levels, ranging in skill from beginner to advanced level. Ground strokes, including the forehand and backhand, along with proper serving technique and volleying will be taught. Footwork, mental strategies, and match-play tactics will be emphasized. Balls, jerseys, goalie equipment, and helmets (to be returned following the last game of the season) will be supplied. Use of mouth guards is mandatory and parents must provide them along with gloves, shoulder pads, and a lacrosse stick. Home games will be played under the lights on the Clauss Recreation Center softball fields on Friday nights. Away games day/times subject to field availability at league member park districts. Fall Youth Soccer League (VO) AGES 5-13 Emphasis in the Mid-Suburban Soccer League is placed on individual instruction, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Teams will be based on approximately 12 to 15 players per roster depending on age groups. Wait lists will be used until there are enough players and a volunteer head coach to form another team. Games are played on Saturdays against neighboring park districts. Competition will start September 6. Practices will be held during the week based on coach’s availability. Practices will start two weeks prior to game play dependent upon securing enough volunteer coaches. Parents will receive a call from their child’s coach once the team selection process is completed informing them of first practice location, date and time. Registering before the July 14 early-bird deadline does not necessarily guarantee a spot on a team due to minimum/maximum numbers established to form a team. The number of teams competing this fall out of the Roselle Park District is to be submitted to league officials early August for scheduling purposes. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Take advantage of our early-bird sign-up fee of $55 by registering before July 14. All registrations submitted from July 14 on will be charged an additional $10 and, again, players cannot be guaranteed a spot on a team. Please indicate on enrollment form if you would be able to manage a team. Also, please let our front desk staff know if you would be interested in coaching. They will make note of this in our computer registration software. If you are not familiar with the game of soccer, don’t worry, we can teach you everything you need to know. Age of a child as of August 1, 2014, will determine at what level he/she will be eligible to play this fall. For example: the “U” (as in U8 Division) indicates child must be under the age of eight as of August 1, 2014, to participate in that level. TWIRLING TWOS: Twirling twos is designed for the excited young dancer who is eager to twirl around, move about, and learn the basics of dance by using interactive songs and props. Dancers will learn simple dance skills along with listening and social skills. Only two year olds can join this class and instruction is designed to capture their attention and keep their interest. Class Attire: Dancers should come to class dressed in leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. TINY BALLERINAS: Tiny Ballerinas will allow the tiny dancers to begin to learn ballet skills, while also having fun. This class will teach the dancers basic skills and flexibility, so that if they decide to continue dancing they will be able to take their skills to the next level. Class Attire: Dancers should come to class dressed in leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. PRINCESS DANCE: Princess Dancers will have a magical time imagining that they are a dancing princess as they learn a dance related to a princessâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s story. The dance instructor will feature a different princess ever two weeks. Class Attire: Dancers should come to class dressed in leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. DANCE EXPLORATION: Dance Exploration will allow the dancer to kick their heels up, shimmy, shake, twist, shout, and turn all about while they try out different styles of dance. While dancing their hearts out, dancers will learn the importance of stretching, basic dance terms, simple choreography, and play dance games. Props may be incorporated with this class to build interest for the young and new dancer. The dance instructor will focus on basic movements and steps and the students will leave with a small combination from each style. Different dance styles include: Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. Class Attire: Dancers should come to class dressed in comfortable bottoms (shorts, leggings, sweats, tights, etc.), comfortable top (t-shirt, tank, or leotard), or a leotard, and ballet or jazz shoes.

BALLET/JAZZ COMBO: Ballet is the most important style of dance and is the foundation for all other dance disciplines. Jazz is a style of dance that will allow the dancer to learn the most important skills of dance, while adding a splash of spark to their performances. This combination class will teach ballet technique and incorporate jazz style movements. This class puts emphasis on flexibility, skills, and posture while the dancer learns various combinations. Class Attire: Dancers should come to class dressed in leotard, tights, ballet shoes, and jazz shoes. BALLET/TAP COMBO: Ballet is the most important style of dance and is the foundation for all other dance disciplines. Tap is an extremely unique style of dance and teaches dancers to focus mainly on their feet, instead of using their whole bodies to express the emotion. This combination class will teach ballet technique such as body lines and posture and incorporate tapping with their feet to make the music, and to hear the back beats and counts. Class Attire: Dancers should come to class dressed in leotard, tights, ballet shoes and tap shoes. JAZZ/HIP HOP COMBO: Jazz is a style of dance that will allow the dancer to learn the most important skills of dance, while adding a splash of spark to their performances. Hip Hop is fun, funky, and very unique with a lot of pop and lock, filled with sharp percussive moves. This combination class will teach dancers fun jazz and crisp hip hop movements to dance to the beat of the music. Class Attire: Dancers should come to class dressed in comfortable bottoms (shorts, leggings, sweats, etc.), comfortable top (t-shirt or tank), and jazz or gym shoes. ACRO: Acro is a style of dance that combines jazz technique with acrobatic elements. This class is highly recommended for dancers who want to improve their flexibility and strength, as well as their dance and tumbling skills, while having a great time. Class Attire: Dancers should come to class dressed in comfortable bottoms (shorts, leggings, sweats, etc.), comfortable top (t-shirt or tank), and any shoe (shoes are not worn in class).

Dance School of Dance (DC) AGES 2-12 Summer dance classes are a great way to keep your little dancer busy this summer with twirling, leaping, moving, and of course, dancing! There is no better way to keep your child interested in dance, or get them started in dance classes before the fall season. When choosing a class for your dancer please place him/her in a class based on their age, prior dance knowledge, and skill level. If your dancer has not previously taken dance they may be better suited for a lower level class to get the attention they need to succeed as a dancer. Dance Company Dance Company (DC) September-May AGES 8-15 Dance Company is an accelerated program at the Roselle Park District for the more serious dance student. It is a step forward for the dancer who wishes to demonstrate more dedication to dance, thus having additional dance performance opportunities throughout the community and surrounding area. Most students desiring to be in this program are interested in a more intensive curriculum. Dance Company allows students to be a member of a dance team to form bonds and friendships which create memories that will last a lifetime. This program is a commitment from September 2014-May 2015, which includes approximately 30 weeks of class, for a total of 90 hours of technique instruction. Placement in competitive dance routines is based on the dancerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s skills, technique, dedication, and overall performance at auditions in August, and all decisions are solely up to the discretion of the Dance Company Instructor and Supervisor. Every dancer participating in Dance Company will be required to take an hour long jazz technique class and an hour long ballet class, and an hour long leaps and turns class in addition to an hour long choreography class for EACH routine they are placed in. Tuesday class will be an hour of ballet and 30 minutes of leaps and turns. Thursday class will be an hour of jazz with 30 minutes of leaps and turns. Saturday classes will be choreography classes for small group routines. No choreography will be taught in Tuesday and Thursday classes. Each dancer must be committed 100% to dance company which meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Saturdays (time depends on routines the dancer is placed in.) Dancers should exhibit a good work ethic, a commitment to learn, and a positive attitude. Dancers are required to meet for all classes and should not miss more than a total of 5 classes. If there are excessive absences and dancer may be required to take private lessons to make-up for their time lost in class, and/or routines can be pulled from competition. This is a competitive dance team, and dedication to the art of dance is essential, and attendance is important to the development of the team as well as the growth of the dancer.

Dance Company Costumes and Competitions All Dance Company costume costs, competition cost, jackets, and Rhinestoning are separate from class registration fees. Costumes are to be paid for prior to costume orders in October and competitions are to be paid for prior to registration January-April. Information will be given out during the season.

Dancers who are in multiple choreography classes will receive a 10% discount on the cost of the second, third, and fourth choreography class which is paid in full. Dance Company Registration Registration fee includes the cost of two technique classes per week. Choreography classes can be added to payment plans. Separate fees will be required for all costumes, competitions, team jackets, rhinestoning, and team bonding parties.

We offer two payment options for Dance Company.

1) Pay in full for the program at the time of registration. Dancers who are in multiple choreography classes will receive a 10% discount on the cost of the second, third, and fourth choreography class which is paid in full. 2) Sign up for a payment plan which authorizes the Roselle Park District to debit the monthly payment from your credit card on the first of the month October-January. A $100 non-refundable registration fee is required at time of registration. (A $5 processing fee will also be charged per month.)

Dance Company Auditions Dancers auditioning for Dance Company for the September-May season are required to take the four days of audition prep dance classes. The prep classes will allow the dancers the opportunity to learn the combination that will be a required performance at the auditions. More information on the Dance Company Audition Prep Class can be found on page 37. Dance Company Auditions will be held on Monday, August 18th from 4:00-5:00 pm and Tuesday, August 19th from 4:00-6:00 pm. At the Monday audition, dancers will review skills and review the combination that was taught during the 4 day Dance Company Audition Prep Class. The Tuesday audition will be for the dancerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s final audition. Placement in dances will be based on their audition as well as the information collected on their audition survey. Dance Company Solos, Duets, and Trios

Dancers that want to join the Roselle Park Districtâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Dance Company for the September-May season are required to take the four days of audition prep dance classes. Dancers will learn the combination that will be a required performance at the Dance Company auditions which take place on August 18th and 19th (more information can be found in the Dance Company section.) Dancers who attend the Summer Dance Camp classes will already have a solid dance foundation which will help them in their performance skills.

Dancers will be placed in a solo, duet, or trio based on their audition in August and their skill level demonstrated in class during the month of September. All solos, duets, and trios are a separate fee and must be registered for as a Youth Private Dance Lesson. All choreography for a solo, duet, or trio will be taught during the lesson time. A minimum of four hours of private lessons are required for a routine to be placed in a competition; however, routine entry in a competition is up to the discretion of the instructor and supervisor. Dancers who would like to get more individualized instruction on technique and additional help picking up choreography from their dance class can also schedule a private lesson. The instructor will help the dancer improve his/her dance technique and better prepare the dancer for their class and/or performance. Lunch and Learn Enrichment Adventures (DC) AGES 3-5 Our enrichment classes are returning this fall! Roselle Park District Preschool (DC)

The 2014-2015 school year begins the week of September 1, and ends the week of May 20, and follows the District 12 school calendar for days off. Days cancelled for any reason are not made up at the end of the year due to program schedule and graduation ceremonies. All children enrolling in the Roselle Park District preschool must submit a copy of birth certificate at the time of registration, and a current health record by the first day of class. The 3 and 4 year old classes require a $50 activities fee that covers all field trips, parties, and special preschool events throughout the year. The Soon 2B3 classes require a $25 activities fee that covers parties throughout the year.

We offer two payment options for this program. Pay in full for the program at the time of registration. Sign up for a payment plan which authorizes the Roselle Park District to debit the monthly payment from your credit card. A Place To . . . The Club Kids Before and After School program is a cooperative effort between the Roselle Park District, School District #12, School District #20, and School District #11, conducted at Spring Hills, Waterbury, and Medinah Primary Schools.

Provide fun, structure, and a safe environment for kids before and after school. Club Kids Parent Information Night (DC) Thursday, August 14 6:00 PM, CRC - Maple Room

The Club Kids Program provides a fun, structured, and safe environment for kids before and after school. Staff organizes daily group and individual activities including homework time, games, crafts, outdoor play, and athletic activities. The staff to child ratio is 1:10. A snack is provided to children in both the before and after school programs. Club Kids is designed to help promote and engage children in a mix of, fitness, socialization, and most of all, FUN! The Club Kids program is run at Spring Hills, Waterbury, and Medinah Primary for the entire 2014-2015 school year. The before school program operates daily from 6:30 am until the start of school and the after school program operates daily from the end of school until 6:00 pm. For those enrolled in the after school program, early release and half days are included, and no separate registration is required. However, a sack lunch is needed on half days.

Parents of Club Kids participants are encouraged to come to information night about the Club Kids: Before and After School Program. We will review the manual, go over the program, and answer all your questions. Even if you have been a part of the program in the past we ask that you attend to be updated on any new information. Fitness Personal Training (DD) A personal trainer will design an exercise program tailored to your fitness goals, while taking your health concerns into consideration. The trainer will also give you valuable training advice as well as the motivation to stick to your program. All initial annual fitness members will receive a one hour personal training or equipment orientation with a certified personal trainer. This service is available to initial 3 month members for a fee of $25 ($35 for non-members/daily fee users). Walk to Run (DD) AGES 16 and up Looking for a way to get some exercise, have fun and fulfill your goal of participating in a 5K? Condition yourself to race three miles safely and effectively in this 10-week, walk-to-run program. Dr. Erin Ducat and her team at Ducat Chiropractic & Sports Medicine lead each session that includes educational workshops on proper stretching, shoes, equipment, heart rate monitoring and strengthening. Come see what you have been missing! The practice range has the flexibility to be used from grass or mats. With a length of 300 yards from the back tee area, well-bunkered greens are located at various yardages to allow golfers to practice their distance and accuracy. Depending on tee location, the practice range can accommodate 12-14 golfers comfortably at any one-time.

This six week course will be taught by a Professional Golf Association member. Beginners and advanced students will learn the proper techniques in making a full swing as well as chipping and putting. Also, golfing etiquette will be discussed. Clubs will be available for use; however students are encouraged to bring their own. Practice balls are not included in the fee. The Sunday Morning Flag Football League is an escape from your normal 9:00-5:00 pm ho-hum job! For a couple of hours a week you can pretend to be one of your sports heroes you watch on TV. A time where you can flash back to your more youthful days of throwing around the pigskin and working together as a team to accomplish the goal of being Sunday Morning Champions! Age is only a number and you are never too old to make new friends while playing a competitive game of flag football. Old or young, big or small, there is room for you in our league as players are entered into a draft and assigned to a team. Draft day is August 10 at a location and time to be determined. Draftees are required to attend. There will be one preseason game in addition to an eight game regular season. Then it’s on to the playoffs! Flags provided and a jersey is included with fee. Private dance lessons provide customized personal attention. Lake Park student parking permits for the 2014-2015 school year for the Clauss Recreation Center Lot are now available for purchase. Applications may be picked up at the front desk during front desk hours. Permit applications require a parent/guardian signature and the driver’s initials on each listed rule and regulation. Permits are $80 per semester or may be purchased for the entire school year at a discounted rate of $150. Permit applications require a parent/guardian signature, driver’s initials on each listed rule and regulation, and the student must produce driver’s license so a photocopy can be filed with application. Parking spaces are limited to 40 spaces in the back two rows of the parking lot. Vehicles parked without the corresponding permit on record, not parked in the designated parking area, or parked before or after set parking hours will be towed at owner’s expense. Parking permit may be revoked, denied, or not renewed for violations of District rules and regulations. Registration begins now!

Roselle Park District Patron Code Of Conduct The Roselle Park District is committed to providing a safe, clean and fun environment for all participants and guests. By doing so, patrons are required to act appropriately and be respectful of others at all times when using Park District parks and facilities. Persons using Roselle Park District facilities are expected to behave in a mature and responsible manner. The Roselle Park District Code of Conduct does not permit language or any action that may hurt or frighten another person or that falls below a generally accepted standard of conduct. Directions issued by Park District staff must be followed at all times. The following actions are prohibited at Roselle Park District facilities and parks: • Harassment or intimidation using words, gestures, body language or menacing behavior • Physical contact with another individual or staff member in an angry, violent or threatening manner • Any demonstration of sexual activity or sexual suggestiveness • Carrying or concealing weapons or devices that may be used as a weapon • Use or possession of illegal chemicals or alcohol on Park District property without proper permits • Abuse of Park District equipment, supplies and property • Theft of services • Smoking and loitering inside or outside of Roselle Park District facilities/grounds • Continuous poor sportsmanship or overaggressive competitiveness from players or spectators • Any other unacceptable behavior including inappropriate dress We encourage all patrons to be vigilant and report prohibitive acts by other persons. If a prohibitive act is witnessed please contact Park District staff and we will be happy to be of assistance when parties are found not following the code of conduct. Please inform staff members when rules are being broken so that proper actions may be taken. Any violation of these guidelines may result in: a verbal warning, a written warning, immediate removal from the facility, suspension from Park District property, suspension of membership for a designated period of time or revocation of membership. The Roselle Park District will investigate all reported incidents on a case-by-case basis.

Dog Park at Odlum Park (LM) Bring your dogs to get off leash, play, and socialize with other dogs. An annual Pooch Permit allows you and your canine companion to enjoy Roselle’s very own dog park! At the time of registration, participants will receive a copy of the rules, membership card, lanyard and security key to access the park. The membership card, key and lanyard must be with owner at all times. The annual membership fee is $25 per resident dog and $40 per non-resident dog. In order to register, individuals must bring a copy of each dog’s immunization records (Rabies - certificate from the county, Distemper, Parvovirus, and Bordetella) to the Park District. We want to provide those who have purchased the pass a fun and safe environment! Dog owners not complying will be subject to fines of up to $1,000. Periodic monitoring and surveillance will be conducted by the Village of Roselle Police. PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR SECURITY KEY WHEN USING THE DOG PARK! A new locking system has been installed at the park to ensure the safety and security of Pooch Permit holders and their canine companions.

Register Register Online-It’s Fast, Convenient, Available 24/7 Online Registration Information Programs will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Some programs will not be available for online registration 24 hours to two business days prior to the program start date. What information do I need to register online? • User Name and Password • Credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover) Upon payment of your completed online registration, you will be emailed confirmation.

Online Registration You can now register for programs from the comfort of your home using a credit card 24 hours a day/seven days a week, all through an encrypted and secure internet connection. To review our online registration, simply log onto the website at www.rparks.org and click ONLINE REGISTRATION. Any household that has signed up for an activity with the Roselle Park District, will have an account in our database. To help facilitate your access to online registration, we have taken the liberty to create a username and password for you. Once you have logged in for the first time, we encourage you to change your username and password. If you have not received an email with the log on information, we encourage you to go to the site and fill out the Web Registration Enrollment Form located on the Online Registration page. Bring the completed form along with proof of residency to Clauss Recreation Center front desk, you will then be mailed a user name and password. How To Register

Waivers

In accordance with the Recreation Department policy, all program participants must sign a hold-harmless agreement prior to participation in department sponsored programs. The waivers are on the bottom portion of program registration forms, designated sign-in sheets, and fitness membership applications. These must be signed by the adult participating in an adult program; and by the parent or legal guardian of participant under 18.

Four Easy Ways To Register

Completed registration form (page 70) to Clauss Recreation Center, 555 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., Roselle, IL 60172

3. Fax:

Completed registration form to (630) 894-5610.

4. Walk-In:

Registration accepted at Clauss Recreation Center Front Desk or after-hours red drop-in box located inside doors in lobby area. Please leave only check or credit card payment when using drop box. Monday-Friday: 8:00 am-7:00 pm*, Saturday: 9:00 am-2:00 pm*, and Sunday: 10:00-3:00 pm. *Registration cannot be processed after these times but registration forms may be placed in red drop box for processing during the next business day.

Registration for programs begins as soon as the brochures are sent out.

Receipt Confirming Your Class

All receipts will be sent out as soon as the registration forms are processed. Registration will continue until classes are filled or cancelled due to low enrollment (at the discretion of the corresponding Recreation Supervisor).

Please Be Advised

No registrations can be processed Monday-Friday after 7:00 pm or Saturday after 2:00 pm in person. After these times the front desk can accept registration forms but they will not be processed until the next day the front desk is open. Please note: the front desk cannot hold any full or partial cash payments. NO EXCEPTIONS (Check or credit card information can be held). Also, there can be no acceptance of any overage payments with transactions. The District can only receive a total payment of what the total corresponding fees necessitate. It is not possible for the District to perform the service of providing cash back or in-system credit on any overwritten personal checks, company checks, government-issue checks, or money orders.

Include Payment & Sign Waiver/Release

Please note that you need to include full payment and a signed waiver and release for your form to be processed. Credit card payments require an additional signature to authorize payment. For these reasons, we are unable to accept phone-in registrations.

In Case of an Error

Complete details of program policies, procedures and guidelines are sometimes omitted from the program brochures because of space limitations. Also, errors in days, times, registration requirements and fees may occur as well. We apologize for any errors that may appear in the brochure. We thank you for your patience and understanding when these situations arise.

Program Room and Area Locations Sometimes Move Around!

Program locations are subject to change. Roselle Park District staff reserves the right to make changes to room/area locations if deemed necessary for the participation and safety of all our registrants and programs. This type of flexibility is necessary to ensure that all planned program sessions can meet and activities can go as planned.

Nothing ruins a good program quicker than everyone waiting until the last minute to register for it. There is a point where if there aren’t enough registrants to hold the program, it is cancelled. Coming in the day of, or the day before the program won’t resurrect it. Please register at least a week early to avoid disappointment.

Residency

Not all Roselle residents are Roselle Park District residents. Even though you may have a Roselle address, you may pay taxes to another park district. Therefore, proof of residency is required when registering for programs for the first time. This may be done with a driver’s license, utility bill, (or a mortgage statement for those who are recently moving to the area). Roselle Park District residents support the district through property tax contributions.

Non Resident Fees

Unless specified by a particular program, the non-resident program fee is an additional $10 or 50% of the regular fee, whichever is less. This does not apply to facility rentals. For all facility rentals, Clauss Recreation Center, or Turner Park, there is a consistent $25 increase for non-residents in addition to the stated resident fees.

Wait List Process

A wait list is formed when a class reaches participant levels beyond the maximum. The wait list is designed to maintain interested people in a holding area until more spaces in the program are available, someone drops out, transfers, or a new section is added by park district staff based on interest. The wait list is maintained based on the order we process registrations. Customers will be contacted for confirmation before being added to one of our wait lists (or transferred from a wait list into the desired program) by the front desk or specific program supervisor. Please note: before a participant is transferred into a program all corresponding paperwork and payments are required.

Refund Policy

The Roselle Park District endorses a customer satisfaction policy and strives to provide high quality programs, services, and facilities. However, sometimes expectation levels or situations occur that do not meet the satisfaction of our customers and a refund request is made. If for any reason you are requesting a refund, please contact the Park District at (630) 894-4200 or come by in person to submit a request.

All refund requests must be made at least two business days before the first class meeting or practice of program.

Trips and special events require reservations and planning weeks ahead of time and therefore do not allow us to accept refund requests unless there is a wait list and someone can fill the spot.

Individuals requesting refunds with two or more business days notice, prior to the first class meeting or practice will receive a full refund, less $5 for administrative costs.

No refunds will be issued for any program after second meeting of a program, unless a physician’s note is provided. Refund requested for medical reasons will be prorated from the time the request is received.

Refunds with facility rental fees:

• Cancellation request 30 or more calendar days prior to rental date = full refund (less $5 for administrative costs)

• Cancellation request 15-29 calendar days prior to rental date = 50% refund

Returned Check Policy

We gladly accept personal checks as payment. If for any reason a check is returned to our office marked “NSF,” we will contact you. You will then be required to submit a full cash or money order payment, as well as a $30 bookkeeping fee, within a ten business day period. Class privileges will be suspended and new registration will not be accepted until payment is received.

The Park District will not issue refunds for fitness center memberships or Lake Park High School student parking permits.

Some classes, programs, and fees have specific refund policies that will be adhered to.

The Park District reserves the right to judge refund requests on a case-by-case basis and partial or full refunds may or may not be approved at any time at the discretion of the district.

Refunds can take up to fifteen business days.
