Multiply Genesis 26

What does the word multiply mean to you? It’s a word used often in the King James Version of the Bible. It’s a word that has a greater dynamic than the word increase because it’s a word that increases supernaturally with almost an energizing effect. Increase can come by addition, but when we multiply, something happens beyond the ability for any of us to comprehend. I believe the word for this year is multiply. The first time multiply is used in Scripture is in Genesis 1:28 when God said to Adam and Eve, “be fruitful and multiply”. The actual Hebrew connotation, in essence, is to be abundantly fruitful. This is the year of abundant fruitfulness. This is the year of multiplication. This is the year by which we will multiply. The word multiply is in the Scripture as both a command and a blessing. God blessed them first then He commanded them to be fruitful and multiply. In Genesis 9:1 and 7, the first thing God does as Noah steps off the ark is give him a command: “be fruitful and multiply.” Multiplication is not just a command, it’s a blessing. God wants to bless people through His working in them, to multiply them. For example in Genesis 17:2, “And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.” Genesis 22:17, “That in the blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore;” In Genesis 26:4, “God said, ‘and I will make thy seed to multiply.’” It’s because of His blessing that He can command us to be fruitful and multiply. He works through our activity and multiplies. When we look at this text in Genesis 26, we will notice that Isaac is going through a very difficult time in his life. There is famine in the land. We all go through difficult times. Normally when we respond to hardship, our tendency is to close ourselves off and just survive. It is not a time we think of multiplication. It’s a time we plant and give as little as we can to focus on survival. Often times when we go through a problem, relational, financial or physical, we shut down our faith. The enemy of our soul and life, who is a thief and a destroyer constantly speaks, “It’s over. You are going under, there’s no way you are going to make it.” Yet somehow when we look at this text we notice that in the middle of a famine God chose to multiply Isaac. Could it be that our difficulty may be the very moment that God could use to bring us into a place of multiplication greater than we know? God told Isaac not to go down to Egypt as his father had done in the time of famine. Then God gave him a promise, “I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven and will give unto thy seed all these countries and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.” (Genesis 26:4) Whoa! In the midst of a famine, God gives a promise. Friends, we must look for the promises of God in the times of our difficulties. It may not be that God is calling us out of that situation but wants us to hold on to the promise of multiplication. Isaac obeyed God. He stayed in Gerar and Isaac multiplied greatly. Look at verse 12, “Then Isaac sowed in the land and received in that same year a hundredfold and the Lord blessed him.” In the time of famine he not only received a hundredfold in return, he became very wealthy. It was a supernatural intervention of God to multiply him. God could

1 The King’s Call

do that for you! I believe this is the year that God wants to multiply us. I believe God is giving us a promise today for the year 2014. It’s the promise of multiplication. My concern is to be certain that I am in the position where God can multiply no matter what is going on around me. We must change our thinking. In Genesis 17:5, God says to Abram, “No longer will you be called Abram. Your name will be Abraham for I have made you a father of many nations.” Why in the world did God say that? Abraham was 99 years old and he had one son by a slave girl. He didn’t have the son of promise from Sarah. But God says to him, “Abram, I am changing your name. I want you to call yourself Abraham, the father of many nations.” God looks beyond our present to see our future. God begins to have Abram speak every day the promise of God of many children, by changing his name to

M u lt

Abraham. So every time he introduced himself, or anybody introduced him, they were declaring the promise of God. There has to be a change in our thinking. Who is your God? Are you bound in time and space to things that happened in your past? Or are you walking with the God who made time and space? Are you walking with the God who says “I AM”. I AM always present. I AM here for you. I will change your future.” We have got to shift our thinking. We have to say God is going to multiply us. We must first be thankful for the Word that God has given us for this year. Jeremiah 30:19 states, “And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry; and I will multiply them, and they shall not be a few.” In other words, He is saying that I want you to be thankful and I want you to rejoice. When we rely on how we feel, depressed, sad, angry, fearful, we block God’s ability to multiply

because we don’t believe He can do it. On Maui, we started out as a little handful of people, just eighty adults, and now we are thousands. Look what God has done! We started out with assets of barely one hundred thousand dollars, which was the value of the church on Kane Street, but today we have assets of almost a hundred million dollars. If God says He is going to multiply us, thank Him for what He has done. When I thank Him for what He has done, faith arises. When I was writing this message out, the Lord spoke to me and said, “Son, the word for this year is multiply.” I responded, “Are You sure? Don’t You know the problems we face? I just finished watching the news. God are You sure?” It was like a hammer that broke through my thinking. I asked God to forgive me. I’m going to thank Him for His Word. I’m going to stand on it and it’s going to come to pass. Not only are we to be thankful, but we must declare the promise of God over our life.

t i p ly

Declare the Word. Declare that you are going to get a good job. Things are going to work in your business. Things are going to work in your family. He’s going to heal that family. I declare that there will be more than enough. Right now we are in over eighty locations. I talked to all my pastors overseas, on the mainland, and here in Hawaii. In a matter of months we believe we will be over a hundred extensions. Things are at work right now. Minister Joshua in Tonga is going to open more extensions. Pastor Hardy related that they are going to open three more extensions in Tahiti alone. We are just exploding. We have to believe that every seat will be filled. If anybody is going to hell from Maui or any of our other locations, this church is too small. Are you hearing me? Multiply! That brings me to another thing I believe God is saying. Not only must we change our thinking by declaring the promises and being thankful, but they key to multiplying is obedience. Isaac could have gone down to Egypt like

his father did but he chose to obey God. He chose to stay in that particular place where God had him. You may be in a ministry in this house and it is not as fruitful as you would like it to be. Could it be that God has spoken to you to be there to make it fruitful and multiply? Leviticus 26 is a powerful chapter. It starts out, “If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them, then I will…” God begins to give a list of things He will do: send rain, make the trees fruitful, abundance with leftovers, peace, victory and God’s presence will be there. He closes it in verse 9, “For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you.” It’s very important that we need to do our part. Therefore we have a choice. Remember multiply is a blessing and a command. There are things He is asking of us to do. That’s why it is so important to take time to pray. This morning in the Revival Pray Team time we had over 150 people crammed into the prayer room praying full voice for 45 minutes. There is an anointing in this house that came out of the prayer room. My secretary came in about five minutes late. She said she was hit with a cloud. The power of God was there. There are miracles and multiplication happening in all the services and tonight because there are people praying. Every morning when we pray at early morning prayer meetings we position ourselves to see God move. I HAVE MADE A CHOICE! I have made a choice to do my part. If we will do our part, God will do His part. Deuteronomy 30:15-16,19 says, “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply. I set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” We must choose to multiply. Choose to multiply in your prayer, in your giving, in your serving, in your loving and in your caring. When we choose to multiply, there is going to be a release of multiplication beyond our ability, to bring us into another level, another season, and another breakthrough. The Lord spoke to me and said, “I want you to plant a seed because it’s going to multiply.” Some of you who honestly believe that God is going to multiply you in your finances, in your family and everything else, plant a seed as a faith action. If you believe something, you are going to back what you believe by an action. God has been speaking to some of you to do certain things and you have been disobeying Him for a long time. Stop it already. Do what God has told you to do, obey Him so that He can multiply you this year. The word for this church and for your life is Multiply! Speak it and walk in it today.

I reminded my grandmother of that miracle. God had healed her before; He could do it again. In response to God’s revelation, my grandmother confessed to me that she was not right with the Lord, that she had unforgiveness in her heart towards her cheating husband. Even though they had been married 55 years, my grandmother had carried all the bitterness in her heart from the first 10 years of their marriage. God opened the door for me to minister to her and pray with her so that she could forgive. After we prayed, she was able to say she had forgiven her husband. Her total demeanor changed and she looked very peaceful. My trip was ending, so I said goodbye and promised to call her soon. She was peacefully sleeping when left. When I arrived home I received the message that my grandmother passed away. I am saddened by the loss but I am so grateful to God that He used me to lead her toward forgiveness and back to Him. I know that the separation is temporary and that we will see each other again in eternity. - Hilda Leyva

have learned through prayer warriors in my life to be steadfast in His word and quick to pray every day even in the late midnight hours. I had a church that I could run to and the KC pastors would pray and agree with me for my family. I got saved at a KC life group when I was fifteen years old. I married my husband John, and even though he wasn’t attending church regularly, he was always blessed with good jobs and provided for our family. I was a stay-at-home mother, blessed with seven children. John got involved with worldly friends, alcohol and drugs. He went days without sleep, drove under the influence, and eventually in and out of the court system and drug rehabilitation programs. Yet God’s mercy was upon us. I was pregnant with our seventh child, attending college full-time and working part-time at Noah’s Ark Preschool when John was sentenced to jail for four years in 2006. During his time of incarceration, the Lord provided every step of the way. I was offered a full-time position at UH

In early 2014, John was facing more prison time. He even sat in a jail cell for a week after being picked up for an outstanding bench warrant. It was then that the Lord met with him and opened his eyes and showed John how much he needed Jesus Christ to get through life. When he got out, John went to King’s Cathedral Maui and asked Jesus into his heart. God continues to stretch out His unfailing love and mercy to give my husband and I another chance. After all the years of prayer by my family and church, my husband is saved and filled with the Holy Spirit. He is a new man in Christ, set free and delivered from the hands of the enemy. He is completely alcohol and drug free with no desire to want to go back. It’s full steam ahead to live a righteous life. What the devil stole from our family, the Lord is restoring. He’s restoring our marriage with forgiveness, communication with love, patience and understanding, and encouraging one another. God is opening the doors of forgiveness and has given John a

God did a miracle this past spring in the area of giving. My husband recently started work as a car salesman for Ford and as we know, whenever a new job begins, the income is low or delayed as we learn. So for the past several weeks we have not had much income. In fact, our checking account was in the red. My prayers were more in the line of “Please God, don’t let any emergencies happen because I just don’t have the money. During that time was KC’s upcoming Easter Egg Hunts. Minister Tim had asked the Kapolei church for prize donations for the Good Friday Egg Hunt. He hoped to have bikes as part of the grand prize. It was my heart’s desire to give. Once we made that joint commitment to give, that next week David sold a car a day! By the end of the week were able to buy, not just one but two bikes as well as pay for the licenses. At the Egg Hunt, the children that won the bikes were so delighted and the parents were so grateful. We were blessed to be a blessing for others in this time of harvest. od answers prayers! I am a single mom with 2 girls. There was a time I had no job or car and just lost my apartment. It was by God’s grace that my friend allowed me to me in with her and her family. My prayer life changed from always pleading with God to thanking Him for what He was going to do. God opened a job that I had wanted since I was 5 years old, a hair dresser! KC’s annual Egg Hunts. But I was currently at zero dollars. “God,” I sighed. “If you help David sell a car today, I will donate a bike.” The thought had barely left my head when I got a text from David at work. “Hon, I just sold a van!” it said. I froze and slowly exhaled. “Ohhh-kay. God, you are so funny. That was fast,” I said. Immediately, my mind was filled with the temptation of things I could pay off or buy with that money, however my heart knew I’d made the pledge. I felt all of heaven was watching to see what we’d do next. So I went home and told my husband what happened and he agreed that the first thing we’d buy, after we tithed of course, is a bike for the Egg Hunt.

A single mom with 2 children looking for transportation to church, she noticed a yellow bus picking families for church every Sunday. One Sunday, she and her daughters decided to ride that bus to church. Since that special day, her life and daughter’s lives have been totally changed. Today she hosts a small group in her community’s Learning Center, has become a bus captain, she visits and cares for the people in her community, and interprets the Sunday services into Chukesse. Because of her past with drug addiction, prostitution, living on the streets and prison, she knows the heartache of people, but now she also knows the love of God. Brenda is a bearer of hope and has opened up a small group in her transitional housing where many have been saved. Her greatest desire is to help all of God’s children, no matter how old, broken, or addicted, to come to know the love of God. She is actively involved in This Is Love ministry, Power of Evangelism and many of our Women Ministry events.

What we initially raised fell short of the $9,000+ we needed. But like the small boy with the 2 small fish and the 5 loaves... when we sacrifice what we already have (our own lunch) which is not enough and give it in faith, expecting it to become enough by giving to the God who is more than enough, God can supernaturally bless our sacrifice to meet the needs of others…and have leftovers! od is doing great things here in Oregon. People are coming to Christ as we continue to reach out and share the Good News of Jesus! Thank You, Jesus, that You have allowed us to see the Vision of KC faithfully replicated in the Great Pacific North West. I know that we have only begun to see the harvest of this beautiful place we now call home. Our Royal Rangers and Mpact girls are reaching, teaching and keeping kids for Christ as one of our premier Ministries. Dozens of youngsters are being discipled through these and other small groups. The Lord has sovereignly relocated capable, trained individuals from distant places that have begun to utilize their gifts for Jesus here. Others are on their way soon. King’s chapel Corvallis began on April 13th and KC Roseburg will be opening in the following weeks. Huge Easter outreaches have declared the Gospel to 3,000 Oregonians and He is growing KC Oregon to new heights. A portion of the word spoken to her was that God was going to give Emma a beautiful horse. I was in tears, knowing the love my daughter has for horses and that she has been praying for years for a horse of her own. Immediately after the service ended, a member of the King’s Chapel congregation approached me and told me she would give Emma a horse. I did not know what to say. I let Minister Kimi work out the details with the owner and we waited for a sunny day to make it happen. On April 2nd, we instructed Emma to get herself ready to ride horses. he C Street Boys were so named because they lived on C St. It was just easier to say than I need you to pick up Andrew, Dylan and Raymond. Even when they moved to Williams St and then to Waterloo, they were still the C Street Boys, the nick name had stuck. We found them while out visiting one day and we fell in love with them instantly. All three of them were always so excited about coming to church. They were the most faithful kids you ever saw. Mom was sweet, but not around much. Their Step Dad was usually angry and unfriendly to me, until the day I invited them to Royal Rangers. Dustin (Dad), as the boys called him, suddenly softened. Dustin shared with me that he had been a Royal Ranger as a kid. One of the foster homes he had been in took him to Royal Rangers. A smile came over his face as he recounted fond memories of his RR days. One Sunday, 9 year old Andrew filled out a prayer request that Dustin had cancer and needed prayer. The next Saturday I took my son Timothy and our greeter Nathan with me to visit the boys and lay hands on Dustin. Dustin was in a recliner because he had just come home from surgery and chemo treatment. I asked if we could come in and lay hands on him and pray for him because he was clearly not able to get up. I called the boys to come lay hands on him and pray for Dustin, just like we do at church. We all layed our hands on him and prayed out loud, even the C Street Boys. I knew Timothy knew how to pray, but I was surprised at the boys. They had been truly taking in everything at church and clearly had learned how to pray. As I opened my eyes, I saw tears coming down Dustin’s face. He shared with us that the doctors had only given him 3 weeks to live. He was in his 30’s and was just too young to die. I asked Dustin if he had thought about where he might spend eternity. He said he had asked Jesus into his heart as a Royal Ranger, but had not been living for God. I was privileged to lead him in a salvation prayer. We all listened has he asked the Lord to forgive his sin and be his Lord and Savior. Dustin died 3 weeks later. KC Leba-

Many times in Royal Rangers their commanders were given opportunity to comfort the boys during this time of sadness. One Sunday, the youngest boy, Ray Ray (6) was acting up and I was called in to help. When I entered the SonCo room, I found Ray Ray curled up in a ball in the corner of the room. ways preach the gospel, make it visual, make it stick and always pray for people. You may only get one moment, maybe a few weeks or months or just a year. Those boys now know how to pray, they know they are on their way to heaven, they know how important it is to read their Bibles. KC taught them all that. I may never see the C Street Boys again on this earth, but I do believe I will get to spend eternity with them.

Pastor Kelley Reynolds

I was able to say, “absolutely, yes Dustin is in heaven! Remember, in your living room when Dustin asked Jesus to come into his heart, you were there.” Ray Ray jumped up and said “I will see Dustin again, I will. He is in heaven and I’m going to heaven cause I asked Jesus into my heart.” With that he ran back to his seat and sat up real tall and still, probably trying to win quiet seat prize. Last month the C Street Boys had to move away to go live with relatives. We only got to minister to them for one year. I always tell my leaders, you never know how long you will get to share the gospel with some one, so make every moment count. Al-

y name is Minister Trent Broome. God has blessed me in more ways than I can count. My wife’s name is Amy and we have 5 wonderful children: Parker, Selina, Madison, Eli, Kobi, and Payton.

In February of 2010, God spoke to us about moving to Alaska. We sold everything and moved to Alaska with only 6 boxes of clothes. When we arrived, we began to search for a home church. It took 5 minutes at King’s Chapel Wasilla for the Holy Spirit to make this statement to us, “You’re home.”

We served wherever there was a need. After leading small groups faithfully, God opened a door. Dr. Marocco and Pastor Daniel asked if we would lead the work in Delta Junction, Alaska. During those 2 years God showed Himself faithful and blessed the work in Delta Junction. After connecting and becoming a part of such a wonderful family called KC, our hearts were steered to return to Florida, our home state, to see the 120/20 vision come about. We are so thankful to serve under such anointed leadership. This past January, God began opening doors to start KC Tallahassee. Although we had to find a home (sight unseen) and move into an area of the city we didn’t know well, we saw the hand of God everywhere we turned. God created an opportunity a few weeks ago during our morning prayer at the capital. A capital police officer came and informed me that he would have to do a background check on me since I was at the capital

on a regular basis. I was then introduced to the Lt. Governor which led to being introduced to the Governor. For about 30 minutes God supernaturally gave me the opportunity to share the 120/20 Vision of King’s Cathedral and Chapels and the honor of praying for both the Governor and Lt. Governor over breakfast in the Governor’s office. God truly has a purpose and a plan for KC Tallahassee. Keep us in prayer as we start this new work. - Minister Trent & Amy Broome

I Caught the

VISION M

y name is Christine Donnelly and I have been going to King’s Chapel Alaska since November 5, 2000. I did not want to go back to Church, I was still drinking and had an attitude, but God brought about the perfect circumstances that sent me charging back. Being straight up and totally honest, my loyalty to King’s Chapel is based on the Holy Spirit being present. I often tell people, once the Holy Spirit leaves the house, I am gone. I have now been at KC for 13 years & 4 months and we are still being moved mightily by Him. I am constantly being challenged to grow, encouraged to stretch my sphere of influence, to examine myself, to give of myself and to be a part of a bigger picture. I do feel like I am a part of a bigger picture, a bigger plan, a bigger cause. I am a part of the cause of Christ and I love being in that. I love to see all that KC is doing here in Alaska…and now, “Alaska Fest”! Meeting people that came to the first Alaska Fest, seeing the harvest of souls and their excitement about KC is so encouraging. The possibility of re-buying KC Alaska’s first property up on the hill brings great hope. I remember when I first came to KC, and Pastor Ken Gable told me of the vision of KC, I was elated because when I was back slidden I was watching some exciting things happening on a Christian program and felt so far away. I asked God to not forget me and I told Him I wanted to be a part of something big like that too. So when Pastor Ken told me about the vision of KC, I knew that God had answered my prayer. When the property up on the hill was sold, I know it caused a lot of brokenness in the congregation, including my late husband and myself. It was like a dream that was crushed or dismissed. But we stayed knowing that God’s plans were going to move forward with or without us and we wanted to be a part of it. With this new possibility of buying it back, I feel like God is telling me that the property was our Isaac. I know that God’s plans are always going to bring about new and exciting events to glorify His son in a way that our ideas could never bring about. But when I think of the property and its location this scripture comes to mind: “Then Jesus asked them, “Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine.” Mark 4:21 NLT We are a part of a big vision and I can’t wait to see what God will do through KC.

od gave Chris and I Isaiah 61:1-3 many years ago when we were leaving Maui and moving to Dallas to start the KC Dallas extension. I really thought that it was only for our time there as Site Pastors, but this scripture is still relevant to what we are doing now with Unto One Ministries. Isn’t it funny how we departmentalize God? We act as if His Word is only for certain times or areas of our lives? But everywhere we go, there are hurting, and desperate people, and God’s word is always applicable. On our trip to the Hawaiian Islands in October-December 2013, we were able to see about 350 people saved. God is so faithful! But at one point on this trip I felt kind of oppressed, missing being in my own house, and feeling sorry for myself. God reminded me of Isaiah 61. “Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.” The enemy tried to get me to focus on myself, yet when we get our minds off of ourselves and put on that “garment of praise” or “coat of praise”, the spirit of heaviness lifts. I had a decision: either put on the coat of oppression, the woe is me, and focus on my problems…or focus on Him and put on the Coat of Praise. Lucifer put on the coat of pride, of thinking of himself only. He put on the ME coat. We have to be careful! The enemy will try and trip us up and get us focused on ourselves, and our issues. The hymn by Helen H. Lemmel “Turn your eyes on Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, then the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace” reminds me to put on my coat of praise. When we put our focus on Him, all that He is, and all that He has done our problems seem trivial and we can conquer any obstacle. I remember one Wednesday night at church on Maui I was really feeling sorry for myself. I should have been putting on my coat of praise for the spirit of heaviness, but instead I was putting on the ME coat that night. I remember even standing there crying about my little dilemma and then Dr. Marocco said, “Pastors and Ministers, come lay hands on these that are coming forward.” I was quickly jerked from my little world of

self and immediately had to focus on others. God gave me a new perspective that night. “Melissa, this is not about you, and your ME coat, it’s about the hurting people that need to know freedom.” That night God gave me a different perspective. The prophet Elijah comes up against the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18. God shows up mightily, burns up Elijah’s sacrifice and the sacrifices from the prophets of Baal. Elijah has great victory that day proving that God is truly God. Then in the very next chapter Jezebel declares that she is going to kill Elijah and he runs for his life in fear. What happened to him? He took off his coat of praise and put on his ME coat! This mighty man of God demonstrates God’s power in one chapter, runs for his life in the next because of a threat by the queen. We have discouraging days like Elijah, but the joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh. 8:10). As we look to Him we are strengthened by His presence and joy. The angels circle around Him day after day, and night after night, saying “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty; Who was, and is, and is to come”. They fly around Him and see a new facet of Him and His Splendor, He will never cease to amaze. If we focus on Him, He will never cease to amaze us! There are times when I feel myself dwelling on myself and my little ME coat. When I start doing that, I get all depressed and sad. But when I praise Him and focus

on Him, and who He is, then I truly know He is on my side and nothing is impossible with Him. What or who are you focusing on today? Put on your Coat of Praise! It is one fashion that will never go out of style. So put it on! (Psalm 27:4-5)
