Nature Connection Spending time in nature is good for the soul, and Kripalu provides year-round opportunities for you to enjoy the great outdoors, on your own or with the whole family. Research shows that time outdoors is a critical component of overall health, benefiting us physically, mentally, and emotionally, and reconnecting us to our sense of self.
The Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership is training outdoor guides to bring the power of nature to their communities.
Nestled in the heart of the Berkshires, Kripalu sits on more than 100 acres of spectacular scenery—a picture-perfect backdrop for nature-based programs such as Hiking and Yoga, Birding and Mindfulness, and more. We also have private lakefront property on the Stockbridge Bowl, where we lead guided kayaking and paddleboard outings, plus miles of peaceful hiking trails amid old-growth forests, a serene Labyrinth, and views that will take your breath away.

Guest Voices Most people speak of how they found yoga, but yoga truly found me. My first experience of yoga was in the Marine Corps. I hated it. I was strong but inflexible, and stretching was painful. I couldn’t even touch my toes.
Fall
Join Hearts Each autumn, the reds, oranges, and yellows that dot our landscape are a reminder that transformation is a beautiful thing. If the political landscape has you feeling frazzled, consider a change of scenery and mindset with a visit to Kripalu. S tart a new holiday tradition and make Kripalu your Thanksgiving destination. This harvest season, take stock and explore your true colors. Yoga means union, and our fall programs provide skills for connecting with yourself, your community, and the world in fuller, richer ways. Kripalu offers timely tools to strengthen resilience, foster empathy, and support your well-being, no matter what this election year brings.
Michael B., Kripalu School of Yoga graduate
When I got out of the Marine Corps, I was lost, lacking in purpose and suffering from depression. A year later, I was active at a jiu jitsu gym that partnered with a yoga studio. It was then that I first fell in love with the physical aspect of the practice. Gradually, I discovered the spiritual aspects and mental-health benefits of yoga. Today, I am a Kripalu Yoga teacher, sharing yoga at schools, senior centers, community centers, and athletic organizations throughout central Connecticut. My life purpose is to spread the message of hope and healing through yoga.
