Stress is the greatest challenge for high-stakes organizations, and it manifests in a multitude of ways.
Here’s what we know: Stress is the underlying cause of
60% of all human illness and disease.
Research shows that stress has a negative impact on teamwork, the ability to focus, decision making, and creative thinking.
80% of workers feel stress on the job, and nearly half say they need help in learning how to manage stress. $300 billion
Stress costs the nation annually in medical bills and lost productivity.
Stress is a killer—literally. But, with the right tools, stress can be transformed into an engine of innovation, engagement, and performance.
That’s where RISE comes in. Sources: American Institute of Stress, American Psychological Association, stress.org

We know RISE works. RISE trainings have been rigorously evaluated by scientists, including our research partners at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Individuals in high-stress organizations who experience the RISE program report profound results—increases in resilience, mindfulness, engagement, and positivity. Our research outcomes have been widely published in peerreviewed journals, such as the Journal of Workplace Behavioral Wellness.
RISE mindfulness tools are proven to • Change the brain, making it easier to pay attention, stay calm, and tap into empathy • Build positivity, productivity, and mental clarity • Improve stress resilience in the moment and over time • Address symptoms of secondary trauma • Enable better risk management • Reduce performance anxiety • Support health—mindfulness is linked with a 50% decrease in cold and flu symptoms and a 75% decrease in absenteeism.
Our research shows that RISE participants experience • 32% reduction in perceived stress • 13% increase in mindfulness • 10% increase in empowerment.
“What I came to understand through RISE is that, as a supervisor, I need to bring the clarity, the calm, and the connectedness. I can’t show up looking for the juice—I’ve got to bring it. RISE not only gave me new tools for doing that, it was also an opportunity to get grounded in the science. Our brains don’t function well in stress and crisis— the amygdala will really mess with your ability to make smart decisions. It’s such a relief and also so energizing to remember that there is always one thing you can do to bring your brain back online and activate your parasympathetic nervous system: the breath. There are a lot of things that happen to the body when you’re under stress that you can’t do anything about, but you can control your breath, and that makes a huge difference when it comes to staying calm and clear, making decisions, and making changes when needed.” —Bridget Hughes, Senior Director, Hetrick-Martin Institute, New York, New York

Dana Campbell is a career strategy and burnout coach, stress resiliency expert, and yoga instructor. While guiding large organizations through seismic shifts in process, technology, and culture, she witnessed—and experienced—the toll that demanding work environments have on individual and team health. Dana believes that mindfulness principles are a requirement for driving organizational transformation, and is passionate about fostering individual shifts in behavior to support thriving cultures and careers. She is certified by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and ELI®. Sam Chase designs and delivers programs in mindfulness, yoga, and resilience for organizations nationwide, and specializes in working with communities that serve in high-stress circumstances. After graduating from Vanderbilt, he won the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships, but declined the award to pursue the work he continues today—exploring the science of the human mind and the factors of a flourishing life. He brings that study to the business world through his work with clients such as UBS, Bloomberg, and many others. Sam has delivered yoga and meditation programs to staff at the United Nations headquarters in New York; and to members of the National Guard, as part of a pioneering resilience intervention led by researchers at Weill Cornell Medical Center. Sam holds a master’s degree from Harvard, where he was the national recipient of the Jacob Javits Fellowship. He received certificates in yoga and in Positive Psychology from Kripalu, where he currently serves as the Lead Facilitator for the RISE program.
