CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Kroc Church is a place where all types of people from different walks of life gather to study the Bible, worship God, spend time with friends and serve our community in many different ways.
Drop-off/Pick-up in Play Care Room
We aim to be followers of Jesus 24/7, and Sunday mornings we have an opportunity to gather together and worship as a family. Whether you’ve been a disciple of Jesus for years, or you are skeptical of Christianity and looking for answers, you are welcome. In our Sunday gatherings we will sing, study the Bible together and make time to respond to what God is doing in our lives.
EVERY SUNDAY AT 10AM
NURSERY: 3 MONTHS–3 YEARS Little ones in the Nursery are well cared for by our wonderful volunteers who nurture the love of God and bring the message of the Bible to them in simple, easy to understand terms.
HUCKLEBERRIES: PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN Drop-off/Pick-up in Huckleberry Hollow Huckleberry Hollow is where our most curious and active age group meets. Kids will have plenty of fun while learning a meaningful Bible lesson. Bible verse memorization is encouraged through simple movement. Please have your children dressed for arts and crafts. Children must be fully potty trained.
ENCOURAGE, EQUIP & ENGAGE: OUR CHURCH DNA At Kroc Church, we Encourage, Equip & Engage (E3) on a daily basis as we strive to glorify God with our lives. We encourage one another into a relationship with Jesus Christ, and into healthy relationships with one another. We equip with the truth of God’s Word so that we can face our daily struggles, and we engage our community by making a difference in the lives of other people, by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, and by serving them in His name.
KROC KIDS, TWO CLASSES: 1ST–3RD GRADES & 4TH–6TH GRADES Drop-off/Pick-up in the Community Rooms This is where the fun begins! Children in these classes are entering the age where they’re applying what they learn from the Bible into practice in their own lives. Children will engage in small group discussions where they share how they can apply what they learned from scripture to everyday life. Prayer and worship are also a focus in the lesson each week.

TIPS & TRICKS
CLASSES FOR INFANTS, TODDLERS AND CHILDREN
LESSON • Evaluate your child’s swim ability and choose a class level, date and time. • Register for class online or at the Front Desk. Classes fill quickly. • Arrive early to check-in and familiarize your child with the facility. Please have your child ready for class at the start of the lesson time. • Families with an adult (18+) may use a cabana locker room. Please bring your own padlock if you wish to store your belongings in a locker. Group locker rooms are also available and located near the Competition Pool. • Have your child go to the bathroom before lessons. Children who are not potty trained must wear a swim diaper and plastic pants (available for purchase at the Front Desk) to prevent bathroom incidents in the pool. Please note: no refunds will be given when bathroom incidents occur.
PARENT & CHILD SWIM LESSONS
PARENT & CHILD LEVEL 1
AGES 6 MONTHS– 3 YEARS
PARENT & CHILD LEVEL 2
• Please do not bring your child to swim lessons if they are ill. Please note: Make-up lessons are not available. • At the end of the set of lessons, your Instructor will recommend the appropriate class level for the next set of lessons. Class levels are frequently repeated to allow students to master skills and feel successful before moving on to a new level.
Parents and children improve and expand the swimming and safety skills learned in level one.
PRESCHOOL LEVEL 1
PRESCHOOL SWIM LESSONS AGES 4– 5 YEARS
Children may be new to the water or have prior experience. Swimmers will explore being in the water through games and learn skills such as blowing bubbles, face in the water, floating, front and back glides and rolling from front to back.
PRESCHOOL LEVEL 2 Students in these classes will learn how to bob towards safety, front float, tread water, and swim with arm and leg action on front and on back.
PRESCHOOL LEVEL 3
• Bring your child’s towel onto the pool deck. Keep your child warm before and after lessons. • Check in at the Swim Lesson table in the Cove Pool. Non-members must also sign up at the front desk. Please help your child remember the Instructor’s name and the class color. Pass this information on to anyone who may be bringing your child to lessons.
Parents are taught how to safely hold and work with their child in the water. Water exploration, games, and new water skills will make this class a fun experience for both of you.
Swimmers will improve their freestyle form while increasing their stamina by swimming longer distances. Safety bobs, survival floats, and swimming on back will be practiced.
LEVEL 1: INTRO TO AQUATICS
LEARN TO SWIM LESSONS AGES 6+ YEARS
Students in this class may be new swimmers or comfortable in the water. Students will learn to blow bubbles, put their face in the water, back float, front glide, roll from front to back and back to front, and swim freestyle with good form for short distances.
LEVEL 2: AQUATIC FUNDAMENTALS These students will learn safety floats, jumping into the water, back glides, backstroke, elementary backstroke, and will continue to improve their form for freestyle.
LEVEL 3: STROKE DEVELOPMENT Students have mastered the basics of freestyle and backstroke and are ready to learn rotary breathing. Swimmers will improve their elementary backstroke form, learn dolphin kick, and will be introduced to the deep water in the competition pool for treading water and beginning diving.
LEVEL 4: STROKE IMPROVEMENT While improving their rotary breathing, backstroke, and elementary backstroke students will learn butterfly, breaststroke, and will swim longer distances. Students will learn open turns for freestyle and backstroke and learn to dive from the side of the pool.
LEVEL 5: STROKE REFINEMENT Students can swim full lengths of the Comp Pool and will increase their stamina and speed in all strokes through swimming drills. They are ready to learn flip turns and competitive starts from the starting blocks. 22

MASTERS SWIM CLUB What is Masters swimming? First of all, Masters swimming is not a group of swimmers who have a perfect stroke or who know everything about swimming. A Masters swimmer is someone who enjoys the water, wants to improve their stroke, and share their passion for swimming with others. At each Masters session, you will have a certified coach on deck who is able to help point you in the right direction to help meet your swimming goals. This could include a desire to be more comfortable in the water, improve a certain stroke, increase your endurance, or maybe gain more confidence to participate in lake swimming or a swim meet! Masters swimming is also a great way to meet friends and get involved in our community. Many swimmers volunteer at Kroc events and other community events. Yep, we're a pretty fun group of folks! We encourage you to come check us out and give us a try.

WATER POLO CLUB The Kroc Water Polo program has seen tremendous growth over the last few years. Through encouragement by coaches Peter Neirinckx, Mark Collingham, and more recently, Ike Bailey (pictured right) the program has developed to now include both a Masters group and a high school team, with hopes to add a water polo based Squid Squad group in the near future. The Masters coed group is open to players 14 and up, and includes beginners to athletes with many years of experience. The team has had considerable success playing a number of local teams, including WSU, UI and CWU. Our high school team has had great success from the beginning, such as winning the Idaho State Water Polo Championship for three years straight! Many of the high school players join The Kroc Water Polo club and practice throughout the year to improve their skills and prepare for the fall high school season. The Kroc program continues to grow and now has over thirty players in the club. The program is working to further develop water polo both in the Coeur d’Alene area and throughout the Inland Northwest. Key goals of the program include providing opportunities for local students develop their swimming skills while having fun, guide them into further opportunities at the college level, and give older players the chance to continue playing and participate in local tournaments.

THE FORSTER FAMILY No matter what time of day you visit The Kroc, chances are one or more members of the Forster family are here! The Forsters are an incredibly active family and enjoy the variety of things at The Kroc Center. According to Mom Leslie, “It’s great to spend time as a family! The Kroc is a safe environment with something for all of us. Sometimes we take up the whole row of bikes when we’re here.” Her husband Mike is an IronMan, and comments that The Kroc is the most affordable option with the widest range of activities when you have a large family. “We have a middle schooler to graduated young adults and there is something for all of us." Kids Megan, Mike, Jeffrey, Lauren & Ali are also very involved in The Kroc. Daughter Megan, also an IronMan finisher, likes the versatility of The Kroc. “My training consists of three things: swimming, biking and running. I have many options at The Kroc to work out and it keeps me coming back." That includes employment! Megan was a lifeguard for a year and a half and currently both her brothers Mike and Jeffrey are on the Aquatics Staff. Ali enjoys hanging out with her friends and spending time at the rock wall. Lauren notes there are lots of places to run and as the family’s “Queen of Abs” she is enthused about the new Ab Solo machine upstairs at The Kroc. For the Forsters The Kroc is more than just their gym, it's their Community Center!

Schedules, Pricing, Programming and Policies subject to change without notice.
MEDICATION DISTRIBUTION In the case of medication distribution, parents must complete a Right to Distribute Medication Form. This releases The Kroc Center from liability for medication that is required for distribution for the health of a child. Medication must be dropped off to Camp Coordinators in the original prescription container with your child’s name printed on the label and placed in a plastic bag. Medication will be stored in Camp Coordinator’s office and administered at the time(s) and in the amount designated by the Right to Distribute Medication Form. Parents must sign out medication at the end of each day and check back in the following day. Any medication not brought in the appropriate container may preclude camp participation for your child on that day.
ILLNESS AND INJURIES Day Camp is not designed or equipped to handle ill children. If your camper becomes ill while at Camp Kroc, our staff will make your child comfortable in an area away from the other campers. Our staff will then contact you (the parent) or one of the individuals you have authorized to pick up your child. If immediate medical attention is needed or if the severity of an injury cannot be correctly established, parents will be notified immediately. The Emergency Medical System (911) will be activated at the discretion of Camp Coordinators and/or Camp Counselors. If staff are unable to reach parents whose child is in need of immediate medical attention, he/she will be transported to the nearest hospital via ambulance and staff will continue to attempt to contact parents. Parents/guardians will be responsible for all emergency medical care expenses.
View camp Kroc Safety Information and additional camp policies in the Camp Kroc brochure. Pick up a brochure at the front desk, or download one online at www.kroccda.org/camp
