ABOUT THE SALVATION ARMY The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a wide array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. About 83 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide. For services, donations, and other information, visit www.salvationarmyusa.org.

MEET HEATHER A KROC MEMBER Before The Kroc Center, I was a stressed-out stay at home mom of three. Now, I am a healthier, calmer, and more balanced individual. The Kroc Center has been a God-send for my entire family, catering to the needs and personalities of each of us. I love the trainers who are always helpful and empower me. I love the other members who don’t hesitate to encourage me; several have become friends! And I love all of the programs and classes that are available to everyone in my family. I often thank God for this amazing place! 6

KROC CHURCH E 101 BIBL GROUP PS TH YOU LL GROU N O SMA SALVATI & THE MY PAST AR ESENT PR ORE +M Welcome to Kroc Church—a place where all types of people from different walks of life gather to study the Bible, worship God, spend time with friends and serve our community in many different ways. A CELEBRATION OF THE GOSPEL. At Kroc Church, we don’t gather to put on a show or impress one another. We strive to be honest about who we are, and our goal is to simply glorify God with our lives; it is the grace of God that motivates us. Kroc Church is a group of people with a common desire to follow and love Jesus. Being part of The Salvation Army Kroc Center allows us a number of different ways to create community. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you find yourself in life; if you want to get closer to Jesus and you want to build Christian community, we would love to have you join us.
MAIN SUNDAY SERVICE 10AM, WORSHIP THEATER, OPEN TO ALL We aim to be followers of Jesus 24/7, but Sunday mornings we have an opportunity to gather together and worship as a family. Whether you’ve been a disciple of Jesus for years, or you are skeptical of Christianity and looking for answers, you are welcome. In our Sunday gatherings we will sing, study the Bible together and make time to respond to what God is doing in our lives.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY NURSERY: 3 MONTHS–3 YEARS Drop-off/Pick-up in Play Care Room
Little ones in the Nursery are well cared for by our wonderful volunteers who nurture the love of God and bring the message of the Bible to them in simple, easy to understand terms.
HUCKLEBERRIES: PRE-K & KINDERGARTEN Drop-off/Pick-up in Huckleberry Hollow Huckleberry Hollow is where our most curious and active age group meets. Kids will have plenty of fun while learning a meaningful Bible lesson. Bible verse memorization is encouraged through simple movement. Please have your children dressed for arts and crafts. Children must be fully potty trained.
KROC KIDS: 1ST–5TH GRADES Drop-off/Pick-up in Osprey Room This is where the fun begins! Children in this class are entering the age where they’re applying what they learn from the Bible into practice in their own lives. Children will engage in small group discussions where they share how they can apply what they learned from scripture to everyday life. Prayer and worship are also a focus in the lesson each week.

KROC MEMBER SPOTLIGHT [PATRICK] Just over a year ago, Patrick suffered from a damaged knee prosthesis that was causing constant pain. Even performing simple tasks like going to the mail box, Patrick had to stop three times to catch his breath. In November 2012, Patrick joined Weight Watchers and The Kroc Center. Patrick met with Kroc Fitness Coach Tim Altevers, who set him up with a low impact routine, including working out on the elliptical cross trainer and attending River Walk class in The Cove Pool. After Patrick was given a green light by his doctor, he had a follow-up consultation with Tim and is now swimming laps in The Comp Pool and lifting weights. "As of today, The Kroc Center has helped me to lose more than seventy pounds and feel the best I have in fifteen years." –Patrick, Kroc Member Since November 2012

We refer to our safety efforts as “Protecting The Mission.” Protecting The Mission guidelines ensure The Kroc Corps Community Center emphasizes safety in the following ways: • Salvation Army personnel (officers, employees and volunteers) are trained in child abuse prevention and are mandated reporters of suspected child/vulnerable adult abuse. • Salvation Army personnel undergo criminal background checks. • Adults accessing the facility may be screened against public sexual offender registry. • The Kroc Center maintains video surveillance of the facility 24 hours a day. • Instructors are trained in appropriate interactions with Kroc members to enhance learning by creating a safe and inviting environment. • Programs involving children are closely monitored to ensure adequate supervision and safe interactions between Kroc personnel and children. • In order to promote a safe and secure environment, The Salvation Army Kroc Center has placed video cameras in various locations. As part of our commitment to the safety of children and vulnerable persons, The Salvation Army Kroc Center reserves the right to consult public sources to determine whether any member or guest of any member poses an unreasonable risk of harm to its patrons, staff, or visitors. • The Kroc Center constantly adapts and enhances safety protocols to adjust to needs. Members & guests are encouraged to report suspicious behavior. Forms for anonymous reporting, called Confidential Notices of Concern, are available at the front desk.
