Welcome to the 25th anniversary edition Ultimate Red & Black. We are excited to display the influence of Skors Red Fortune 176Y. She is a cow that had numerous high selling sons and daughters for Skors over the years. The breds were vaccinated with Express FP 10 prior to breeding and have had 2 doses of ScourGuard 4KC and Vision 8 this fall. The bred heifers were preg tested in August. We also are proud to consign two strong Reddington heifer calves with our partners Red Top Livestock. We look forward to visiting and spreading a little Christmas cheer during the Alberta Simmental Weekend.

Homo Polled Big, bold and beautiful. Moonshine Mary is a special heifer that we’re proud to present. A female with stature, length of body, abundance of muscling, depth of rib, cherry red and lots of hair. She maintains femininity with an angular build and tidy front end. Her dam is a cow we’re building our red program around and one we feel extremely fortunate to have purchased privately from Skors, along with an embryo bank. Moonshine Mary is the result of one of these embryos. Natural full sibling bulls were previous high sellers for Skors going to Red Top and EDN. A flushmate sister leads our keeper pen of breds. We’ve been holding on sparingly to our last few straws of IPU Revolution 172U for years to find a cow that we thought it would click with. With the purchase of Red Fortune 176Y with Red Top we knew we had the cow. We have been impressed with the resulting calves as they have been some of the top calves of their respective groups here at BLL and at Red Top. Revolution is a maternal powerhouse being a son of the great 16M cow that always had a lot of admirers. Fortuna 122J looks to be a herd bull producer with her soft made build and thickness. Bred with an exclusive service to KWA Red Italian, the sire of one of most popular red calving ease bulls this spring at Westway Farms.

A polled heifer that is long and deep. Has a great disposition. She has a low birth weight but that didn’t stop her from growing into a big growthy heifer. She has an excellent set of EPD’s. TERMS & CONDITIONS

TERMS The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, e-transfer, or wire and are due at the time of sale, unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Transcon reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% per month on overdue accounts. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for their purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Transcon Livestock Corp and/or the Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.

BID No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.

SALES TAXES Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos, and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller.

DISPUTES In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.

INSURANCE Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale and should be insured. Animals returning to the seller’s farm must be insured.

US BUYERS There is an additional charge (approximately $300.00 US dollars) that will be applied to each animal purchased. This covers documentation, vet inspections/testing required to export. This cost does not include transportation or brokerage which is the responsibility of the buyer.

CATTLE PICTURES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED The images in this catalogue are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information contained in this catalogue is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. Transcon Livestock Corp. and catalogue designers/producers assume no responsibility if the images and/or information as received have been altered or is inaccurate.

ANNOUNCEMENTS All announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association.

SHIPPING Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

BREEDERS GUARANTEE As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price.

EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

HEALTH It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

EMBRYO & SEMEN Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given.

ACCIDENTS Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

Apparently our 4-yearold niece Emsley has a different preference in colour of cattle and picked this heifer as her favorite and has been named Daisy before she left the barn last winter. Daisy as flourished into a long body, thick made individual that is clean in her lines and can strike a pose that you can’t help but to admire. We also have a full sib ET bull calf to Daisy that was the highest weaning bull calf this fall and is a standout in the bull pen. ETZ 176Y has been the female with the greatest impact on our program and Daisy will be the first ETZ 176Y daughter we have ever offered up for sale. The fertility and longevity are in the pedigree as 176Y has been fresh flushed and rebred for an early January calf each year we have owned her.

“Brood Cow” is how I would define Kennedy, she packs as much natural barrel, thickness, and muscle into a package as you can that will be a herdbull producer. Opportunities to add an RPlus females until this year haven’t come around very often so we teamed up to purchase the pick of the first calvers with Beechinor Land and Livestock to get the job done. We selected Kennedy’s dams for her udder quality, outcross pedigree, moderate tanky build that is strong footed. After raising our high selling bull this past spring and now Kennedy her track record is making a strong case to enter our donor program. Take advantage sale day to take this lady home as she wouldn’t be for sale if she wasn’t a partnership animal.

Homo Polled We were looking for a special female to reach back in the semen tank use IPU Revolution on and we selected IPU 61C from Simmsational sale as the high selling bred that year. The 61C x Revolution cross produced 1821F the dam of Rosie which is a moderate tank of a female with a very strong udder. 1821F is building a strong track record with raising a top end heifer calf all three years with the other 2 being retained in herd it was time to offer up some of her bloodlines to the industry. Rosie herself is long bodied, soft made yet clean up through her front third that was a stand out on pasture all year. We feel that she will have a productive future with her pedigree being stacked full of proven producers.

True Joy is a female that we are very excited to offer this year. She is so elegant in her makeup, a very upheaded female and her neck sets into her shoulder very nice and carries into a nice strong top. Bold sprung in her rib shape and carries it into her flank very well. This female is a maternal sibling to our high selling female in the 2020 sale to Wise Land & Cattle. Sired by the 2017 IPE Supreme Champion Bull PM True North. Multiple True North daughters have been retained in herd and they are very functional females with good udders. A red baldie that really ties it all together in a nice package. This girl demands your attention with the amount of presence she has in the pen. Super long spined, long sided female that is so smooth made. A female that has a lot of reach on the move and plants on a strong square foot. A maternal sib bull calf to the dam of this female sold through this very ring in 2020 and found a great home at Bar CL Livestock. This cow family just flat out gets it done every year. Red baldies are hot so take advantage of this great opportunity!

Homo Polled Kimber is a heifer I am very proud of. She is exceptionally long spined, big middled with great muscle expression throughout. She is very feminine made with correct leg structure and a good solid foot under her. Her dam, Ms Deputy, has never missed a beat. With her first calf making his way through the ring at the bull sale, her second calf is one of the top bred heifers in the pen this fall and now Kimber, being my personal favourite of all three. It was difficult deciding who to keep at home and who got to make it into town because all of the beast daughters are showing such potential at such a young age! I believe Kimber has a very promising future and is a female I am very proud to offer!

Homo Polled Kenna is the second female on offer. This fancy yet stout made female is following in the footsteps of her dam, Virginia Azalea. Azalea was purchased from the Western Harvest female in 2020 from Virginia Ranch. This cow continues to impress, she is long made, deep sided, with a large very correct foot under her along with a nice udder as well. Kenna is impressive when she is profile, but once you get in front of, or behind her you will be very pleased with the muscle expression she carries along with a very strong top and big soft middle tying everything together. She carries herself very well, almost like she knows she has some good stuff going on! This is another heifer I am very proud of and I believe she has very bright future!

Hello, and welcome back to Red and Black XXV! First off I would like to send a big thank-you to everyone who has supported me the past few years buying breeding stock from this sale and off the farm. I’d also like to thank my family for their support and for preparing my cattle for sale while I am away at Northern Oklahoma College studying Animal Science PreVeterinary Medicine and being a part of the Livestock Judging Team. If you like them a bit fancy and packed with maternal function and love watching them bloom then you need to take Carps Boss Kow Diane home. This late February heifer is dynamic in the shape of her muscling and length of body while still walking out true and standing on a good dark foot with a unique pedigree. Don’t over look this later born 3/4 blood heifer. “Ketchup” holds true to her name, she caught up to the other calves and weaned with just as much power and size as her January counter parts. Off a heavy milking Fleckvieh influenced cow and by a Rio Grande son, this heifer will be one heck of a momma cow.

Another “Half N Half “ daughter you shouldn’t over look, pictures don’t do this heifer justice. She is a brood cow in the making. Out of a neat made polled Fleckvieh cow, she offers some genetics from both sides of the breed wrapped up in a smooth red package.

A bull calf that should’ve be on the show string this year but life happens! 743k is a deep sided, wooly, stout cherry red bull that we think show cases the “RCS” red program. Being a Rio Grande and Bravado grandson ensures preform with a shot of calving ease, We think very highly of both his dam and matural granddam, never miss sound footed cows with many sons and daughters working in a variety of herds.
