UNDERGRADUATE PROSPECTUS 2023
Part of our local
COMMUNITY
We’re proud to work with individuals, charities, groups and schools that serve our local community. We believe we all have a role to play in improving lives in our region and beyond. Students across many different courses contribute to the various projects we’re involved with. Converge Converge is a unique collaboration between the NHS and York St John University. Through this scheme our students gain experience of teaching and give back to the community by delivering creative courses for mental health service users. yorksj.ac.uk/converge
Prison Partnership Project This is a partnership between York St John University, HMP New Hall and HMP Askham Grange, to provide weekly creative arts programmes in women’s prisons. Our theatre and music students can get involved in these initiatives as part of their course. yorksj.ac.uk/prisonpartnership
YSJActive The YSJActive team not only deliver sport and fitness services for the University, they also work with various groups in the local community. This includes people who have learning disabilities, have dementia, or are recovering from a stroke. Our sports students can get involved in these initiatives. yorksj.ac.uk/ysjactive
