NOW WHERE DO YOU START Congratulations you’re engaged!

People will now start asking you “when is the big day?” It suddenly occurs to you that you have no idea where to begin in planning this massive life event. Here’s La Belle’s guide to starting the ball rolling on your wedding planning! 8

www.labellemag.com

Step 1 - Budget Decide on a realistic budget with your partner and stick to it. Most couples pay for the majority of their own weddings these days, but don’t be tempted to go into debt to pay for your wedding day. When all’s said and done a wedding is just one day, and starting married life in financial difficulties is not a good idea. Parents offering to pay? That’s great, but bear in mind that if someone else pays for your big day, they might feel that they have more of a say about important decisions than you would want. Make sure you discuss their expectations before you accept any offers of money, and if necessary, politely decline.

Step 2 - Prioritise Next, take your budget and divide it up. The largest proportion of cash will likely be spent on your ceremony, venue and honeymoon, but you also need to think about what’s most important to you and your partner. Now’s the time to get a rough idea of numbers you want to invite, any colour scheme or theme and how many you want in the wedding party, as these will affect how you allocate budget. Make a list of priorities, with things you don’t want to compromise on at the top, and things you’re less worried about at the bottom. Be realistic about your expectations!

Step 3 - Date Next thing is to decide when you want to get married. This isn’t just as simple as picking the season, as you also need to consider that many venues book out at least a year in advance, and sometimes two years in advance for peak times. You also need to think about whether you want a weekend or weekday, and consider the fact that weddings in the summer are generally more expensive than those that take place in Spring, Autumn and Winter. At this point, a range of preferred dates is enough to go onto to step 4.

www.labellemag.com

9

Step 4 - Venues Armed with your chosen dates, start contacting venues to find out if they are within your budget and whether they have availability at the times you want. If you have your heart set on a place that’s a little out of your budget, have a chat with them and see if you can reduce the cost down by omitting certain things, or by only having the reception there. Make sure you visit any venue before you book it, and you discuss your expectations and requirements with the resident wedding co-ordinator to ensure they’re on the same page. If they aren’t fully on board with what you want, or suggest things that you don’t really want make sure you tell them, and don’t go along with anything you’re not totally happy about.

Step 6 - Other Wedding Services Once you’ve finalised the venue (or venues), you need to start booking other wedding vendors, such as photographer, DJ, caterers and transport. Choose your bridesmaids and groomsmen and let them know so that you can involve them in the planning where necessary. Start visiting bridal shops and looking into suit hire or purchase, and decide on a honeymoon destination. Consider getting wedding insurance in case something awful happens to your venue or one of your other vendors.

Step 5 - Invites Depending how far in advance you have booked your venue, the next step is to invite your guests. If you’re planning to send out ‘Save the Date’ cards, they can be sent out anywhere from 6-8 months prior to your wedding day, and invitations don’t need to go out until 3 months before. If you’re only doing invitations or your wedding is during a holiday season you might want to send them out 3-6 months beforehand to ensure people have plenty of time to RSVP, and for you to confirm final numbers with your venue.

And there you have it, hopefully you now have a better idea of where to begin! There are of course a few things to finalise and a few more things to organise, but you’re most of the way there! Each issue of La Belle has a handy, month by month checklist for you to use to help with your wedding planning, so make sure you consult it to fill in any of the details, including suggestions for the weeks and even days before your wedding. If you’re a member of the bridal party or the happy couple, every eye will be on you; it’s only natural that you’ll want to look your best, particularly if you’re the blushing bride. By planning effectively you can take matters into your own hands and prepare for the best version of you on your wedding day. Here’s La Belle’s tips on staying beautiful. Step up your water intake a few months before your wedding; your skin will glow more and your hair will get some added shine too. Also, try and reduce your caffeine intake per day, it will lessen staining to your teeth and will actually lower your stress levels. You might even want to introduce an exercise plan if you’re feeling particularly energetic, just remember not to shed too many pounds or your beautiful wedding dress will be falling off you! Six to nine months (or more!) before your wedding you should be scouting out your makeup artist. Use any recommendations from family and friends and check which products each artist uses too. Don’t be afraid to keep searching until you find one you’re comfortable with. At your consultation, remember to bring images with you so the artist has something to work from, this goes for hair stylists too; pictures are much more easily interpreted than words. Once you’ve had a consultation with your hair stylist and MUA, book a trial run of your hair and beauty routine a few months before - this is a must if you don’t want any unwelcome surprises on your wedding day. 14

Book this at the same time so you can judge the whole look. Try to book a trial for a morning and wear it all day so you get a better idea of how you look throughout the day in different lighting. After the stylist has worked their magic and you check your reflection, make sure you feel like yourself. If you’re unrecognisable it will make you feel uncomfortable, tense and could occupy your mind when you have other more important things to think about on your wedding day…like getting married! Your hands are easily forgotten amid the excitement of hair and makeup but when that ring goes on your finger you’ll want a dazzling manicure to match the moment. Find some inspiration in other brides’ wedding manicure images, consider the traditional French manicure or an ombre effect, match it to your flowers, your dress material or your colour scheme - the world’s your oyster! Consult a beautician a few months before and make sure they’re available. Try to get your nails done no more than a few days before the wedding or they’ll be chipped before you’ve even walked up the aisle. www.labellemag.com

If you’ve decided to do your own hair, makeup or even both then make sure you practise plenty in advance. Collect some inspiring images in a scrapbook to give you something to work from and make sure you’re completely happy with your chosen style. If you have a summer wedding, particularly outdoors, you’ll want a fresh and glowing makeup look - think pastels, pinks and lighter colours in general. If you have a winter wedding consider a darker makeup look in keeping with your wintery venue; incorporate some richer colours without looking too vampy. If you choose to have any facial waxing or other hair removal treatments done don’t leave it until the day before. Your skin will swell and could remain slightly sore for a few days after the treatment, leaving you with embarrassing bumps and visible irritation in your wedding photographs. Avoid unfortunate tan lines in by covering up the week before your wedding and wearing sun cream if necessary to fight that pesky, uneven tan. If you prefer to use fake tan try not to overdo it for the sake of the cameras. Less is definitely more; too much fake tan will turn you from bronzed to tangerine in an instant! Don’t forget to bear in mind your skin type, avoid invasive peels and you’ll escape a potential skin disaster, particularly if you’re sensitive skinned. Opt for a gentler treatment to save your skin from damage and still give you that pampered feeling. On the day, have one of your trusty bridesmaids carry spare makeup and toiletries so you can touch up your look throughout the day. Lipstick, blusher, mascara, concealer and eyeliner are all essentials. Think about baby wipes and foot plasters too, just in case. You’ll do a lot of smiling on your wedding day (obviously!), most of it natural, some of it posing for the cameras. You’ll have face ache by the end of the day but the photographs will be worth it, more so if you have a dazzling smile. You might want to consider a little teeth whitening, either at home or with a professional, to get your pearly whites whiter. Skin hates stress and there are few things more hectic than wedding planning. But there’s no need to stress about getting stressed! Most brides naturally glow on their wedding day; they’re wearing an amazing gown, surrounded by their family and friends and about to marry the partner of their dreams. Try to relax and enjoy the journey. www.labellemag.com

If you are a follower of all things free spirited and love the summertime vibe, then why not embrace your inner hippy and indulge yourself with that festival style wedding you’ve been dreaming of. Avoid cliches. As we are all more than aware the British summertime is far from predictable, so with regards to the weather a contingency plan is a grudging necessity. Many venues offer yurts and gazebos to facilitate outdoor weddings and will often provide decorations to create that romantic feel. So if the heavens do unexpectedly open, you won’t be left with wilting flowers and soggy guests. Outdoor heaters may also be a good idea for those chilly evening celebrations. Being a lively fun filled event, you are likely to want a dress you feel comfortable in, yet elegant and graceful, bringing tears to the eyes of your loved ones. If you are looking for comfort, then a romantic, floaty dress may be more suitable than one of the tight fishtail or strapless options available. If you opt for a more traditional look, a headband made with real or artificial flowers can provide that nostalgic country fayre feel and help to combine your festival style with your outfit. Hay bales, flower filled jam jars, outdoor tree decorations and bunting, the possibilities are endless. This fun theme really allows you to get creative with your decorations and add that personal touch. If you wanted to step the festival theme up a notch, then why not present your guests with wedding festival wrist bands upon entry, as a fun souvenir of the big day. You could even create a festival themed seating plan, naming the tables after you and your partner’s favourite bands. When it comes to the cake you need to think about your personal idea of the perfect summertime festival. Whether you love bold and beautiful brights or delicate florals, you want to choose a cake that best reflects the overall feel of your day. If you’re feeling a bit quirky, why not incorporate edible flowers into the design. As a little extra to keep the kids entertained, why not treat them to a selection of old fashioned games, such as apple bobbing, sack races or even a coconut shy. They will make for great photographs and are cheap to set up; the only downside being the high probability of grass stained clothing…but that’s what summer is all about. Whether you are looking to have a wholesome family affair or you can see yourself snuggling up on a hay bale whilst watching the sunset, surrounded by fairy lights, with your close friends and family preparing themselves to party until the cows come home. the festival theme might be just what your looking for. Fingers crossed you don’t need your wellies! www.labellemag.com

Not all brides see themselves in that traditional wedding image; a big white or ivory dress with train, veil and matching white or ivory shoes. Most brides nowadays will put their own spin on the traditional ‘bridal look’ to a greater or lesser degree, whether it is to do with when or where the wedding is taking place or just down to personal choice. White dresses for the bride have only been traditional since Victorian times when Queen Victoria wore a white dress when she married Prince Albert. Prior to this, rich brides wore dresses of the most expensive materials they could afford, and picked a colour of their choice. Poorer brides usually wore their Sunday best. Because of the impracticality of a white dress for day to day wear, they became a symbol of wealth. A boast to others that you could afford a very expensive dress that would likely only be worn once. 28

Even after that, wedding dresses still tended to follow the dress styles of the time periods they were worn in, and it was only as recently as the 1960’s that bridal dresses started to revert back to the full-skirted styles reminiscent of the Victorian era. Brides in the 1920s and 1940s regularly wore shorter dresses to reflect the styles of the time. There are plenty of alternatives to the full-length, ball gown silhouette dress in white or ivory, and many brides will select either a column, fishtail or A-Line dress rather than a ball gown silhouette, and as with other clothing, bridal fashion does still fluctuate and change meaning that certain styles will be easier to find at certain times than at others. www.labellemag.com

Photography

Samantha Maber Photography

Some brides choose a shorter dress when getting married abroad in a hot climate, or perhaps for a more informal wedding in a smaller venue. Some just don’t see themselves in a full-length dress! Tea length dresses with full 1950’s-style swing skirts are making a comeback in 2014, as a continuation of the ongoing love of all things vintage and retro. These can give a bride a very chic Audrey Hepburn look for her wedding day if accessorised with short gloves and a visor veil for example. A dress with less structure, perhaps in a Grecian style or with an empire line, can look stunning for both boho brides and those wanting something romantic and elegant. Chiffon moves beautifully in a breeze, and can look amazingly dramatic in outdoor photographs, it’s also generally cooler and a lot easier to move in than a stiffer, corseted gown made of satin. Not many women are brave enough to try it, but you could go sophisticated and very, very cool in a trouser suit if you think you can pull it off. This option works well for women uncomfortable with wearing dresses, or for www.labellemag.com

those who are perhaps having a registry office marriage in the morning or the day before. You can always wear a suit to the official ceremony, and change into a party dress for the rest of the celebrations. Never imagined yourself in white? There’s plenty of options these days, from Alfred Angelo bridal dresses that incorporate splashes of any colour you want, or bridal dresses by other designers entirely created in colours other than white, particularly in deep reds, pinks and champagne. Want a colour that you can’t find from a wedding dress designer? Look at prom dresses or evening gowns instead, as many are of a similar quality to wedding dresses and come in all different styles and colours. Whatever your choice for your big day, be it your grandmother’s vintage dress, a bubblegum pink minidress or a traditional white bridal gown, know that you will feel happiest in what you truly want to wear, and that you will look amazing and bridal in whatever you choose because after all, you’ll be the bride. 29

food for thought Some of us find working out what we’ll have for tea a struggle, so trying to plan a meal for fifty to a hundred people is enough to bring on a cold sweat. La Belle, as always, is here to help.

You’ll need to consider your budget, the formality of your day and your guest’s needs. There are several options available to you but once you start breaking these down, the prospect of feeding all your friends and family may not seem so scary. So what are the pros and cons of the most popular wedding meal options?

A Wedding breakfast is perfect if you’re having an early ceremony – treat your guests to a served or buffet breakfast menu; continental or full English, there’s sure to be plenty of choice. You’ll still have to make table arrangements but the right caterer will be able to arrange serving staff and different stations for varying food options. Don’t fall into the trap that a buffet is any more relaxed though, people tend to hit the bacon and egg station fairly hard and anyone who hesitates could be left disappointed. The breakfast is however considerably easier on your wallet and will also mean only the most hard core party people will be doing any serious drinking so early in the morning. The major drawback of the breakfast is that you won’t be

www.labellemag.com

able to boogie the night away and, unless you’re off on your honeymoon that day, you’ll be struggling with what to do for the rest of the afternoon. Not to mention that any guests who fit the description of “not really morning people” probably won’t be thanking you for being up with the lark. Be accommodating of your guests. Are there any children who’ll need entertaining? Any elderly relatives who might want to sit and rest occasionally? If so, you’ll want to avoid cocktail parties, which typically only feature a few chairs and no arranged seating. Whilst they certainly are sophisticated and fun, any little ones will be tearing their hair out hearing all the “boring, adult stuff” and your eighty-year old Great Aunty will be craving a chair.

35

Cocktail parties are great if you want to make an ohso-subtle hint to your guests that you don’t want them staying that long; a lack of adequate seating will naturally make them leave quicker and the reception will last no more than an hour and a half to two hours. That’s not necessarily a bad thing if you’re on a budget – just remember to tell your guests on their invite that it’s ‘cocktails only’ at the reception. It’s worth bearing in mind that speeches may be very tricky to organise as everyone will be on their feet mingling. It might be entertaining to watch the father-of-the-bride try to grab the attention of fifty guests by bobbing about like a meerkat while coughing loudly, but we’re pretty sure he won’t be so amused. If you do serve any finger food it’s likely to end up adding a certain je ne sais quoi to your venue’s flooring - slightly tipsy wedding guests balancing paper plates of sausage rolls could be a recipe for disaster. It’s better to have just a few tables so people have somewhere to rest plates. Music might be a tricky subject if you’re a disco loving bride, cocktail parties are a much more refined event – there’ll be no birdy dance here! A way to get around this is to hire an additional room for a disco later in the evening. In short, if you’re a sophisticated bride and groom with a penchant for jazz, short on time and with a large guest list which features no children or elderly relatives then the cocktail party is perfect for you. We don’t want you to think we’re totally against the cocktail

reception but it does have its problems if you’re looking for a party. On the other hand, it’s usually a lot more relaxed than a sit-down dinner and you’ll be able to fit more guests in your venue. The third and still most common wedding meal choice is the sit-down dinner. The behemoth of wedding catering; the sit-down meal is the standard meal arrangement for weddings and the one we probably all picture when we imagine a wedding reception. A dinner is also more expensive than any other option and will involve a tad more planning too. As with the wedding breakfast you can opt for a buffet or for your meals to be served. If you’re booking through a venue, staff will no doubt be provided and some catering companies also offer staff if you need them. You should think carefully about whether this style of meal suits the formality of your big day. The ‘sit down’ is typically seen at stately homes, halls and formal marquees; consider what suits your own venue best. If you can, opt for a set menu - it leaves less room for time consuming and expensive individual orders and is much easier to prepare. You can include a choice within a set menu, fish or chicken for example, and ask your guests to state their preference on their invite. By allowing people to make that decision early you’ll be able to plan more effectively; that means less stress for you and your caterers.

If your venue doesn’t provide meals, particularly if you’re going for an outdoor, marquee wedding, a caterer will make your life infinitely easier. Communicate well with them and ask all the right questions; do they use frozen or fresh food? Do they have anyone else booked on the same weekend? Will they provide staff and if so how will they be dressed? Do they handle alcohol too? It may seem like you’re bombarding them but you’re likely to be paying them a fair chunk of your budget and it’s important you have a good relationship with them. Make sure you’ve ascertained if any of your guests are vegetarians, vegans, pescetarians, have allergies, intolerances or any religious needs so your caterer can provide alternatives. Don’t forget to search for references from their previous clients for a handy heads up to any issues. www.labellemag.com

When you’re all planned out, you’ve picked your meal, met your caterer and agonised over your table arrangements you’ll be steeling yourself for the moment on the day when you start hearing people’s comments. Will they say how much they enjoyed their meal? Not all of them will – we’d like to gently burst that bubble for you up front. You could have the happiest family since The Brady Bunch but you can guarantee when the food is served that Nan actually hates prawns, your cousin is allergic to dairy and your Mother-in-Law thinks you should’ve had canapés. It’s best to mentally prepare yourself for this beforehand and accept that you can’t please everyone. As long as you tried your best, and more importantly served the food you love, no one can criticise you (actually they can but they should feel bad about it!). 37

the holiday of a lifetime Your Honeymoon….The destination where you spend the first days of the rest of your lives. Choosing the correct destination is crucial. I would advise spending a little time discussing what you both want from your honeymoon.

Traditionally people preferred a fly-and-flop honeymoon to give them time to recover after the busy pre-wedding period, but we are now seeing a definite shift from that – we are finding people want to get as much out of their honeymoon as they can. It really is the trip of a lifetime… and while people can make a regular holiday choice in a day, they will often spend months planning the perfect honeymoon. Couples are now looking for more experiential honeymoons, perhaps combining two or three destinations on one trip. Popular combinations are city and beach although we have seen a move to much more adventurous trips such as tours of South America, New Zealand and Vietnam.

42

Bali is also becoming increasingly popular. It offers a little of everything: culture, dramatic scenery and a range of activities, including excellent snorkeling along the coast. The resort destinations there are incredible, so people can get out of the hotel complex and experience local life. Again, it can be combined with a city break to somewhere such as Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Price is obviously very important – people want the best value from a real ‘wow factor’ destination. Mauritius, for instance, gives fantastic honeymoon discounts – you can get a five-star resort on an all-inclusive basis for the same price as a B&B stay elsewhere.

The Top Five Kuoni’s top five honeymoon destinations remain unchanged for the third year running, with their long-standing popularity being a result of their combination of tropical sun, lovely beaches, deep cultural experiences and largely year-round climates. The USA’s sixth position owes much to the diversity afforded by a holiday there, from city breaks in New York and Chicago to beach holidays in Florida and Hawaii.

The Highlights

What’s new for 2014

Indonesia: Indonesia is steadily gaining in popularity as a honeymoon destination, rising from number nine to eight from 2011 to 2012 and gaining a further place in the Kuoni top ten for this year. Bali is, naturally, a popular choice. The tropical island conjures up images of the ancient east, while there is a spiritual element to a visit too thanks to its 20,000 temples.

Maldives: Always a popular choice. Perfect for Honeymooners. Baros – a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group – is offering a special in-villa breakfast for those who were married in the six months up to their arrival in resort.

St Lucia: St Lucia remains steadily at number nine in Kuoni’s top ten honeymoons for 2013 after entering the list in the same place for 2012. The only Caribbean destination to feature over the last three years, it offers a beguiling mix of British, French and Creole culture, typically pristine beaches and excellent resorts. The sheer diversity of things to do in such a compact space – from exploring vibrant capital Castries to ziplining through rain forests – highlights the growing move away from fly-and-flop destinations in honeymoon trends. Italy:

Alongside its place in Kuoni’s best-selling destinations for 2013, Italy remains in Kuoni’s bestselling honeymoons list for a second year after entering for the first time in 2012. The magic of a honeymoon here is based on traditional sights and charms – from vistas of ancient Rome, through gondola rides in Venice, and jaw-dropping vistas over the Bay of Naples on the Amalfi Coast. The short flight time in comparison to many key Kuoni destinations and incredible food and wine are other factors that attract newlyweds

www.labellemag.com

Vietnam: Honeymooning guests at the Six Senses Ninh Van Bay get a guaranteed room upgrade on arrival, as well as a bottle of Champagne and a romantic dinner for two. Mexico:

The new adults-only Secrets The Vine Cancun offers honeymooners a private beachfront dinner, Tension Release Massage, choice of European Facial or Salt Glow Scrub, breakfast in bed with Mimosas, sparkling wine and fresh fruit and flowers. It is all part of their Secrets Eternity Honeymoon Package.

Thailand: Koh Samui’s Rocky’s Boutique Resort is a Kuoni-exclusive hotel and honeymooners can destress from the wedding with a complimentary Thai massage on the beach, as well as a bottle of sparkling wine, a fruit platter and a candlelit dinner. Wherever you decide to visit, remember, everyone will have different ideas of what ‘The Perfect Honeymoon’ will be and that’s where we, at Peter Goord Travel can help. Why not make an appointment to come in and see us and we together can create your dream trip.

No idea where to start with choosing what you want for your wedding flowers? Don’t know your nasturtiums from your narcissus? Don’t worry! Here’s La Belle’s handy guide to all things floral!

Getting married in Spring and Summer generally gives you the widest range of options for your wedding bouquets and flower arrangements, however there are plenty of beautiful floral specimens that bloom during the Autumn and Winter months too. You can of course get many flowers all year around thanks to imports and hothouses, but locally sourced and in-season flowers are generally looking their best and are better value. Here’s our top suggestions by season:

46

www.labellemag.com

Spring

Delicate pastels work well in springtime bouquet, think cream, peach and lilac shades. Flower mixes including things like Hellebore, Clematis and Forgetme-Nots can really invoke the feeling of sunny Spring days. Alternatively, go bright and cheerful with Narcissi (Daffodils), Irises and Tulips in shades of bright red, yellow and violet. Want something more chic and minimal? Bouquets purely made of delicate cream Narcissi make a beautiful Spring alternative to white Roses.

Summer

Go bright and bold with Gerberas. Mix pink, orange and yellow varieties to really make your floral arrangements pop. Thinking more along the lines of cottage garden chic for inspiration? Try mixes of things like Cornflowers, Sweet Peas, Roses and Peonys with plenty of greenery or filler such as Baby’s Breath.

www.labellemag.com

Autumn

Sunflowers bloom at the end of the summer, so if you’re having a September wedding, they can work well in bouquets and centre pieces, capturing the essence of those warm, hazy days in early Autumn. Sprigs of berries with flower mixes can add some beautiful alternative texture and colour if you want something a bit different.

Winter

Using Silver Brunia as a filler plant can add a very chic aesthetic to your bouquets and centre pieces, the silvery grey works very well against deep, plummy red and dusky pinks. Think of mixing it with the ever classic Rose, which is available in many colours all year around. If you fancy something a bit different, consider adding accents such as Pine Cones, dried Orange slices and Cinnamon sticks to your chosen flowers, particularly fitting if you are having a wedding close to Christmas.

the look of love Emma & mark by Tracey Wood Photography

I first met Emma & Mark at a Vintage wedding fair in 2012. Emma had her heart set on a vintage style wedding and wanted the photographs to match. I’d just had a new album printed with a gorgeous silk cover. I’d edited the images in a retro style and it was exactly what Emma was looking for! A perfect match! We met a couple of times to discuss their wedding plans and a few months before their wedding, Emma & Mark had an engagement shoot. So by the time their ‘Big Day’ arrived, they were relaxed about having their photographs taken and just full of excitement about the day. It was a beautiful sunny day and perfect for their ceremony which was being held on the verandah that runs along the side of the hotel. Emma and her father travelled to the ceremony in a classic car to find Mark waiting with their guests in the garden. Their ceremony was very simple, but enchanting and emotional and there were even a few tears from family and friends. After the service there was time to mingle with drinks on the lawn followed by a few group photos. All the guests then went into the main dining room where the room was decorated and dressed with coordinating vintage style flowers and bows.

48

It was a beautiful wedding from start to finish and I’m delighted that Emma & Mark chose me as their photographer for such a special day.

If you’re looking for a quirky way to add a personal touch to your big day, then why not create a wedding hashtag and encourage your guests to instagram their photographs. Not only will this engage your guests but it is also a cheeky way of supplementing your photography, capturing the little personal moments that may otherwise be missed, and it’s absolutely free! You simply need to come up with an original hashtag (preferably something short and memorable), check it’s not already in use and then you are in business. Just be sure to inform your guests so they can download the instagram app, if they don’t already have access.

Although we all love the timeless, staged photographs we get from professional photographers it is nice to add a touch of variety and personality to the classic wedding album, and it seems that introducing a wedding hashtag to the occasion is the perfect way to do so… even if it does mean having to repeatedly explain to elderly relatives the definition of a smart phone.

Include the hashtag in your wedding invitations and save the date cards, so photographs can be shared of the events during the run up to the wedding, that wouldn’t be captured by a professional photographer. Be prepared to have the embarrassing hen and stag pics for all to see! On the day display the hashtag on chalk boards as an attractive way of reminding everyone to keep snapping and uploading to create a truly interactive wedding. Instagram can be a great way to get creative with your photos, as the app features numerous filters varying from black and white to vintage style. Another bonus of Instagram is the immediate access to the photographs, eliminating the agonizing wait for the images to be processed. So you can enjoy sitting together in bed the following morning, cup of tea in hand, scrolling through your pictures and reminiscing about your perfect day.
