Human Beings are Not “Illegal.” Stop SB 20! SB 20, an anti-immigrant bill, was signed into law in South Carolina earlier this year. It will allow law enforcement to investigate the immigration status of anyone they stop, which encourages racial profiling of Latinos and other nationalities that appear or sound “foreign.” Civil rights groups and immigration advocates filed a lawsuit against this law and a federal judge will hear it on December 19th in the District Courthouse in Charleston, SC. SB 20 does not uphold American values of fairness and equality, and it criminalizes simple actions such as giving a neighbor a ride to church or opening your home to individuals in need. Show your opposition to the anti-immigrant bill SB 20 on December 18th and 19th by attending these events:
