THE MONTH OF JUNE IS ANNUAL OPEN ENROLLMENT AT NEW HOPE HOUSING Medical and Dental The month of June is OPEN ENROLLMENT for the medical and dental benefit plan. Full Time employees of NEW HOPE HOUSING are eligible to join at this time regardless of pre existing conditions. For Employee only Coverage, New Hope Housing pays 100% of the cost for benefit year 2017/2018 for Full Time Employees. The deadline to elect this coverage is June 28th, 2017. Employees currently enrolled in the plan do not have to complete new Enrollment Forms. If you want to add your children or spouse, you will need to complete an application and submit the election form.

Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability New Hope Housing offers VOLUNTARY Life Insurance, Short Term and Long Term Disability programs. You can elect all three programs or pick and choose. The cost is based on the amount of coverage you want and your age. You must be a Full Time Employee.

Spending Accounts Spending accounts are a great way to pay for certain qualified expenses with pre-tax payroll deductions. By participating in Spending Accounts, you will reduce your taxes! NEW HOPE HOUSING offers two types of Spending Accounts: Health Care and Dependent Care. With a HEALTH CARE Spending Account, you can budget to pay for certain qualified medical, dental, and vision expenses, (such as copays, deductibles, eyeglasses, etc.). You DO NOT have to be enrolled in a NEW HOPE HOUSING medical plan to participate. A DEPENDENT CARE Spending Account allows you to pay for qualified expenses such as childcare and elder care while saving on your taxes. You can participate in one or both Spending Accounts.

HOW THE SPENDING ACCOUNT WORKS 1. You set the Spending Account up on an annual basis, beginning each July 1. (Worksheets are available) 2. The money for your Spending Account is withheld from your pay before taxes are taken out. 3. You receive qualified services and pay for them. 4. You submit an easy to use claim form along with documentation of your expenses to the ADMIN office at NHH 5. You receive a reimbursement check. 6. If you don’t submit your claims by June 30th of the following year, you lose the money remaining in your account.

For worksheets, enrollment forms and/or more information please Call Shawn Valentine, Director of Finance, at 703.799.2293 ext. 18 If you need to drop coverage for you and/or dependents - you will need to complete a termination of coverage form. Deadline is Wednesday, June 28 at Close of Business for Benefit Changes (June 28, 2017)

Remember, if you want your benefits to remain as they are now, no action is required.

Mondloch Place & Mondloch House A Gazebo was placed at Mondloch Place on June 15th! A big thank you to Roxanne and anyone else who had a hand in advocating and getting this installed!

I am truly overwhelmed following the baby shower this afternoon. Your generosity, kind words, and support for Michael and I as we bring our little girl into the world soon is so appreciated. It has been such a blessing working with each of you. I couldn’t ask for better coworkers. Extra special shout out to those who helped with the planning (LaKesha, Sami, Chavon). The little touches like everything not being explosive pink and the sock monkey cupcakes did not go unnoticed. Miss Martha, the food was absolutely delicious and thank you for being mindful of my dietary restrictions with the diabetes, that was so thoughtful. Thank you all for your time and effort and making the shower absolutely perfect. You have helped me get one step closer to welcoming Aubree into the world. Thank you! With a heart full of gratitude,

Nicole Dillon
