LETTER FROM DRAGONS!!!Fall Rally has just passed, marking the halfway point of the term! And for the seniors out there, our time is running out, fast!!! Be sure to enjoy and cherish all of your remaining Key Club moments as much as you can!! If you are lucky, your college will have a Circle K you can participate in, but if not, this will be your final taste of Key Club:'( In the meantime, I hope you are all ready for Conclave, which is actually on December 14th!!! If you are unfamiliar with the event, that is where we elect our next Lieutenant Governor for the Division (but I will still be head honcho until DCON in March!). Good luck and good fortunes to everyone in the meantime!!!

-Diego Solorio, LTG

HEY DRAGONS!!!! Fall Rally was an amazing experience that I will always cherish. I enjoyed sharing this experience with you all and if you were unable to attend this year, there’s always next year! Although we were unable to win the spirit stick, you all won in my hearts. -Leslie Casillas, DNE

At the Region Training Conference, I walked through the gate to be greeted by cheerful members who directed me to the sign-in area. While waiting for other members to come and for the LTGs to finish their preparations, members were able to socialize and converse amongst themselves. The first activity we did was a mini cheer battle. Prior to the battle, each division met up to practice a cheer. It was fun shouting and seeing all of the other divisions’ spirit. Then, everyone went inside the gym where the LTGs commenced the conference and explained each workshop. There were various workshops for certain board positions, workshops that went over important information to know about Key Club, and workshops that talked about life in general. I attended the secretary, member recognition, membership dues, and stress workshops. Although the workshops were quite long, they addressed significant details that I will take into account to improve as a secretary and to help my club. Even though I did not really talk to anyone from the other divisions, I got to hang out with members from other schools that I usually do not talk to a lot. Overall, the Region Training Conference was very fun and informative.

My name is Angelina Nguyen and I attended the Ellis Tree Planting Event for Key Club. At the event, we planted trees, trimmed the shrubs, and learned interesting facts about nature. My favorite part of the event was when we planted trees because I felt like I was doing something good for the earth and it was an overall fun experience. The event was great but, in my opinion, it was hard to find the location spot. The location was way up further then where it told me to go but I found the spot anyway. From the event, I learned how to properly plant trees and how to care for certain types of plants. If I ever get the opportunity to go to an event like this, I would go because we should really do our part to help our planet thrive in the future.

A lot of members attended the Bolsa Chica Restoration event. First, we dug up invasive plant species that were harmful to the native plants. In addition, we watered the plants around the area as this is the only water they receive besides the water from rain. We also met a Huntington Beach High School alumnus. He talked to me about the things that we as humans can do to save the environment. I thought he was very influential and inspiring. I learned a lot of interesting facts from him as well as the event. Digging and watering plants, we got to visit a display of different types of animals. There were snakes, birds, reptiles, and many other creatures. It was truly a wonderful event. We got to learn new and fascinating information about the environment while also earning service hours.
