A word from the Boss
ROSS EMBLETON POSITIVITY IN THE CAMP
“We feel good heading into the game on the back of a professional and clinical performance. Quick turnaround, like usual, but we go into it, in a positive frame of mind.”
BRADFORD CITY
“They’re a very good team going forward. They have some real talented individuals. We understand where we can hurt them on the flipside of that. As always, we respect the opposition, but our preparation has been about Leyton Orient.”
PUTTING A RUN OF RESULTS TOGETHER
“We were disappointed with the run of defeats. It’s important not to get too up when it’s good and too low when it’s not. We have to be able to put things into perspective, learn and progress.”

JOBI McANUFF RETURN TO WINNING WAYS, ASSURED IN DEFENCE AND DEADLY ON THE COUNTER
“On the back of a disappointing run we were keen to stop the rot. We feel we’re too good to be losing four on the bounce, whether that’s across different competitions or not. So, to come through and win very comfortably was satisfying.”
A HAT-TRICK FOR THE DANNY JOHNSON AND A CLEAN SHEET FOR LAWRENCE VIGOUROUX
“We’ve all seen what Dan is about this year. Generally, if we put the ball in good areas and give him chances, he will take them – now he’s producing little moments of magic himself. Loz, the back four and the team as a whole are delighted with the clean sheet. We’ve all had a chat about the goals we have conceded.”
FOR THE BOTH OF YOU, IT WAS A PLACE IN THE SKY BET LEAGUE TWO TOTW, GREAT PERSONAL RECOGNITION AND A SUPER TEAM PERFORMANCE TO TAKE INTO TONIGHT!
“They’re little markers of the team’s performance. It’s great personally and collectively. The more we can kick on in the next few weeks, hopefully we can show we’re heading in the right direction.”
BRADFORD ARE A HUGE CLUB, BUT THEY’VE STRUGGLED AWAY FROM HOME THIS SEASON, AS PROVEN BY SATURDAY’S LOSS TO SALFORD…
“We want to make home advantage count. Their away form isn’t great but they have some really good players. They might not have clicked just yet. We won’t be taking anything for granted, we have to start well and play with right mentality. We want to start well and make sure they don’t have a good day on the road.”
07
LEYTON ORIENT JOHNSON 18’, 31’, 73’ HARROGATE TOWN
Danny Johnson’s first ever Leyton Orient hat-trick marked an incredible return to winning ways for the O’s. The striker’s magic left-foot had his side 2-0 up at the break and the number 39 nodded home his third 16 minutes from the end.

HECTOR KYPRIANOU +++++ CONSISTENT RUN OF GAMES FOR YOU HECTOR, YOUR FIRST PROFESSIONAL GOAL, YOU MUST BE DELIGHTED WITH THE DIRECTION THINGS ARE HEADING? “I’m really enjoying it. Coming back from injury I didn’t expect to be involved quite as much but I’ve hit the ground running and I’m excited for what’s to come.” FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE YOU AT ACADEMY LEVEL, TELL US ABOUT YOUR DIVERSITY AS A PLAYER – WE’VE ALREADY SEEN YOU HOLD THE MIDFIELD, PLAY ALONGSIDE OUSS AND BRIEFLY AT CENTRE-BACK? “When I was younger, I used to play CB and when I go away with Cyprus that’s where I play. At Orient I have always played in midfield, I feel comfortable there and I enjoy it. THE BOSS SPEAKS VERY HIGHLY OF YOU AND YOU ADMITTED THE WHOLE FIRST-TEAM STAFF HAVE WORKED REALLY WELL WITH YOU – WHAT ARE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS LIKE? “The Boss has been so helpful. He fully supports me and encourages me to play the way that I want to play! All of the staff have been great, they work with me and constantly give me pieces of advice. It all helps me.”
16
GET TO KNOW HECTOR KYPRIANOU What football team do you support? Arsenal, I have since I was young! Who is your favourite footballer? Lionel Messi. He is the greatest to ever do it, the things he does on the pitch are ridiculous! Who is your best friend in the Orient squad? Ruel is my big brother. Then I’m close with Jayden, Brendon and Shad. Who do you learn the most from? Jobi McAnuff. Just look at what he has done in his career. He’s been right to the top. I always look at pieces of his game and see how I can add that to my game. What boots do you wear? Nike CTR’s. I find them really comfortable. Stirring the pot celebration – what’s the meaning? That’s just an inside joke for a group of my friends. Away from football, what are your other passions? I play plenty of PlayStation with my friends. FIFA and Call of Duty are our favourites. What TV series would you recommend people watch? Money Heist. I loved it. Finally, three songs to add to our Spotify playlist… Drake FT. Giveon - Chicago Freestyle Internet Money, Gunna, Don Oliver, NAV Lemonade Roddy Ricch - Boom Boom Room

DANIEL NKRUMAH’S EQUALISER HELPED EARN THE O’S A 1-1 DRAW IN THEIR RECENT FRIENDLY AGAINST QUEENS PARK RANGERS.
As Brian Saah’s side were without an EFL Youth Alliance fixture, the under-18s used their latest friendly against QPR as an opportunity to experiment with the squad. Saah fielded different sides in the first and second half, with the majority of the squad gaining some much-needed minutes, as well as providing an opportunity to two trialists. “We don’t really get the opportunity to experiment in our league games,” Saahtold club media following the game. “So, we wanted to take this opportunity to explore different formations and different personnel.”
As the young O’s were coming up against Category Two opposition, it took some time for the under-18s to adapt to the pace of the game. In the first 15 minutes, QPR had three opportunities to convert and were ultimately growing in confidence. Orient’s best chance of the first 45 fell to Finlay Lovatt, as the O’s striker cut inside and unleashed a powerfully-struck shot but the goalkeeper was equal to it. Nevertheless, the Hoops eventually broke the deadlock just minutes before the half-time whistle.
30
QPR mounted a threatening attack on the lefthand side, as the winger cut inside and shot from distance. Hit with speed, the winger’s shot cannoned off the post and, unfortunately, into the direction of Alex Solomon, who turned the ball into the Orient net.
LAST FIVE RESULTS November 14th Leyton Orient 1 – 1 Gillingham EFL Youth Alliance November 9th Leyton Orient 2 – 3 Woking FA Youth Cup
As the half-time whistle echoed across the Leyton Orient training ground, QPR headed into the break with a one-goal lead. However, Orient’s second-half side were keen to reduce the deficit in the final 45.
November 7th Leyton Orient 3 – 1 Cambridge United EFL Youth Alliance
Within minutes of the restart, Jayden Young and Daniel Nkrumah caused a heap of issues for the QPR defence, who also made wholesale changes.
October 31st Leyton Orient 2 – 5 Stevenage EFL Youth Alliance October 24th Luton Town 2 – 2 Leyton Orient EFL Youth Alliance
The O’s came close to a leveller with 55 minutes on the clock, as Young took the ball from his own half and dribbled past multiple Hoops’ defenders, but his shot was comfortably saved. Nevertheless, Orient found their equaliser a minute later.
NEXT FIVE GAMES November 28th Leyton Orient v Luton Town EFL Youth Alliance
Following an array of chances, Jephte Tanga managed to dribble his way to the by-line and cut a low-driven cross back to Nkrumah, who converted and levelled the scores.
December 12th MK Dons v Leyton Orient EFL Youth Alliance December 19th Stevenage v Leyton Orient EFL Youth Alliance
Following the goal, the O’s continued in a similar attacking vein, as Saah’s side searched for the all-important winner.
January 9th Leyton Orient v Northampton Town EFL Youth Alliance
Nkrumah, once again in the thick of the action, forced an important save out of the QPR goalkeeper with just minutes to go, but QPR’s youth side managed to hang on for a draw.
January 16th Leyton Orient v AFC Wimbledon EFL Youth Alliance
Following the fixture, Saah praised his attacking front four and in particular, Nkrumah. “I think the front four, including the wingers, did really well when they came on today. They made a big difference and it was good for Dan (Nkrumah) to get a goal to help with his confidence.” The O’s will look to return to EFL Youth Alliance action next Saturday, as they welcome Luton Town’s youth side to east London.
