INTRODUCING E10 EXTRA
A word from the Boss
ROSS EMBLETON
MORECAMBE “We need to sustain good periods of the match for longer than 35 minutes. That’s how long we felt we controlled that game, although we probably never created enough clear chances. Just before half-time we had a couple of bad moments that we never came back from. So, for me it’s about sustaining our levels.”
CONTINUING GOOD FORM “It’s important to hold on to momentum and breed more confidence and self-belief. We want to be looking up. We want to continue to build. I consistently say we strive to be better.”
DAN KEMP’S ARRIVAL “I’m delighted. There’s been a couple of windows where we’ve looked to take him on loan, but it hasn’t materialised. He’s a player we have been aware of for a very long time. I’m over the moon to have secured someone of his quality. Getting Dan into the building gives him the opportunity to meet everyone and get used to what he does and where to go.”

Blackpool and he was really lively. For us, it’s an exciting signing. He’s a young lad with a big future ahead of him.
“From our point of view it was great to get back to winning games with good performances. We’re disappointed the game against Carlisle was cancelled. We’ve had a good couple of weeks of training, so, we’re ready to go.”
REVENGE
I think he will come in and add to the group. As captain, I want him to feel as welcome as he can. It’s good for him having Tunji here. He’s settled in quickly; he seems a great lad and I’m excited he is here.”
“It was a really disappointing result against Morecambe. We started the game really well, but we didn’t go on to win the game. We’ve looked at that, we feel we can put that right and get the result.”
THE ARRIVAL OF DAN KEMP
“I think it’s a really good signing for us. I really like him. We played against him in pre-season. I saw him in a cup game for
THE BUSINESS END OF THE SEASON
“The first-half of the season is about getting yourself in a position to attack the secondhalf of the campaign. This is the business end of the season. With the teams in and around us, it’s important we continue to perform and get results. We want to be there or there abouts for the real push in April. It’s a critical few weeks coming up.”

DAN KEMP SIGNS KEMP’S FIRST WORDS AS AN O
THE BOSS GETS HIS MAN
16
LEYTON ORIENT ARE DELIGHTED TO CONFIRM THE SIGNING OF DAN KEMP FROM WEST HAM UNITED, ON A TWO-AND-A-HALF-YEAR DEAL.
The 22-year-old midfielder had signed a one-year loan with Blackpool back in September, but that deal has been cut short as he makes the switch to Orient. Kemp is the first addition of the current window and Head Coach Ross Embleton is delighted to have got his man. “I’m delighted. There’s been a couple of windows where we’ve looked to take him on loan but it hasn’t materialised. He’s a player we have been aware of for a very long time. I’m over the moon to have secured someone of his quality.”
against the O’s in pre-season, but is now determined to get going with his new side. “I’m delighted to be here. It is a great club. I can’t wait to get going. The manager is a massive part of me joining. His philosophy is exciting and his reputation of developing young players is something that attracted me.” Our new signing is a diverse creative

midfielder, who can play in a number of positions. “I’m an exciting player,” said Kemp. “I love to get on the ball and makes things happen. I want to score goals and create chances but I’m also an honest player that works hard for the team.” Kemp joined in with Friday morning’s training session, meeting his new teammates for the first time. He will take #15 shirt and will be in contention to face Morecambe today. Our Head Coach was happy Kemp trained with his new teammates: “Getting Dan into the building gives him the opportunity to meet everyone and get used to what he does and where to go.”

SAM LING
Right-back Sam Ling previews today’s clash. Time off “We wanted to play but the weather dictated that we couldn’t. We trained that Saturday, 11v11. That was good and we’ve cracked on this week.” Back-to-Back home wins “I think the resilience to get the clean sheets was great, we played some good football and scored good goals. All round the last two games we have been spot on. We need to continue that and make it more regular.” Familiarity of the squad “It’s always good to have a settled squad. Last year we managed to keep a large chunk of the group. It’s good to look around and see people you trust. Morecambe “We let it slip in the second-half, when we played them. They worked out how to stop us. We need to figure out ways to get around that. We need to be bang on it and come away with the three points.” Watch the full interview in our first episode of E10 Extra.

Thank you for supporting Barts Charity Leyton Orient Football Club and its incredible fans have shown amazing generosity, helping us through the worst of COVID-19 and making for a safer and healthier East London community in the midst of a global pandemic. You’ve truly been there for our NHS staff and patients when they’ve needed it most. We’re particularly humbled to be receiving donations from the new home kit this season, generously sponsored by former player Harry Kane. As the dedicated charity for the five Barts Health NHS hospitals – including Whipps Cross – we fund innovations in patient care, pioneering medical research and vital support for doctors and nurses. This year, our NHS workers have gone to extraordinary lengths to care for our community. And that’s why we made £500,000 rapid COVID-19 funding available during the initial peak and have since given £3m for long term programmes focused on staff wellbeing and mental health.
