TRANSFER SUMMARY

A word from the Boss

ROSS EMBLETON COLCHESTER UNITED

“There are fixtures in the second-half of this season that we will be looking to do better and reverse the fact that we haven’t picked up points against certain teams. We will be going out and using the positivity from Tuesday night.”

“WE HAVE TO CONTINUE OUR HOME FORM AND MAKE SURE WE HIT THE STANDARDS WE HAVE SO FAR THIS SEASON” BACK AT HOME

“It’s important we try and win the game. I think we were all very happy with a draw on Tuesday night, but it wasn’t a win. Despite the circumstances we could have came away with a win. We have to continue our home form and make sure we hit the standards we have so far this season.”

DANNY JOHNSON’S RETURN

“We have to be careful and make sure we don’t bring back Dan too soon. I know we have to clip his wings and manage him. He’s chomping at the bit to get back out on the pitch but we have to make sure that it’s right.”

Captain’s column

JOBI McANUFF CRAWLEY RESULT

“It was a fantastic effort from all of the boys. Going into the game we spoke about our away record and the fact it is nowhere near good enough. We need to pick points up away from home. I don’t think we thought it would be in that manner, going down to ten men, but what it did show is that we can dig out and see out moments in games to pick points up. Psychologically, it was big for us to get that result in the way that we did.”

FRESH SQUAD

“I’m a big believer in keeping things fresh, bringing in players at the right time and the right characters. I have to say a big well done to the staff for identifying and getting all the deals done. Everyone that has joined has been a real boost. They will all make a positive impact on the squad now and moving forward. New signings keep the dynamics positive and it keeps us all pushing. Going into the second-half of the season, with the games we have to come, they can play a big part in what we achieve this year.”

COLCHESTER UNITED

“Any time you come up against a team you’ve lost to in the season already, you have that motivation to get a result. Certainly, for us, the draw midweek will help us stabilize things. Our form at home has been good. Last time out we lost to Forest Green, so we want to get back on track at The Breyer Group Stadium. We want to go out and win but we have to be wary of their threats. Again, we feel we’re in a good place to go and get another win.”

“EVERYONE THAT HAS JOINED HAS BEEN A REAL BOOST. THEY WILL ALL MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE SQUAD NOW AND MOVING FORWARD”

NICK FREEMAN +++++

SETTLING INTO THE GROUP

“I’ve settled in very well; the staff and players have made me feel very welcome. I’ve enjoyed my time here so far, playing and training. I’m excited to spend the next few months here.”

YOUR FIRST START V CRAWLEY

“It felt good. I haven’t played 90 minutes in a few months. It was a tough game with ten men. It was a good point and it just shows the fight the boys have. I think that will pull us through the season well.”

COLCHESTER UNITED

“We have to bring that fight to every game – home and away. We have to show teams we are here to do the business.”

RIP SIMON FELLMAN My LOSC committee colleagues and I were sad to learn of the passing of Simon, aged 81, at his care home in Dunmow on Friday morning. Simon voluteered to join the club committee back in 1980 and will be fondly remembered as a loyal and hard working member who played an infuential part in helping to take the club forward over the successive forty years. He was a warm and engaging personality, an excellent compere and host at our many functions. His loyalty to the Supporters Club, to me personally and to our members and, in turn, to Leyton Orient was unfailing. We thank Simon for his friendship and hard work at LOSC. We shall miss him greatly and send our condolences to Sheldon and Tara and the rest of the family at this sad time. RIP Simon - David Dodd
