Letter From The Editors The Stegela Success Mastery Team
October is my favorite month of the year. Maybe it’s because the first day of the month is my birthday, or maybe it’s my favorite because my favorite holiday is Halloween. Whether it’s the colors of fall, sweater weather, the likelihood of rain, brisk air, pumpkin flavored coffees (and literally everything else), decorations, or hundreds of horror-based activities to be done. October is my favorite month for many reasons, as you can see. The month of October has an overarching theme of FEAR. My biggest fear was always not being enough. Things never scared me, but people did. One of my biggest struggles when I started my first business was getting over the fear that I was going to let people down; my parents, my mentors, and my clients. That fear of making a mistake made me overthink every move I made, and it cost me in more ways than one. There is a healthy (and delicate) balance in business of respecting your client and respecting yourself. I was able to overcome this fear by realizing that mistakes make us stronger, both stronger in our businesses and as individuals. It took me time, money, pain, and disappointment to learn this lesson - oh, and it took a mentor. My hope with this edition is that it helps you to see and face your fears. I hope that the words of these entrepreneurs give you the guidance you need to overcome your struggles. I hope that you may take a shortcut to success by learning from our mistakes. I hope that you enjoy all of the festivities and flavors that this season has to offer. I hope that you cherish the time you get to spend with those you love as the weather cools off as the time for giving and thankfulness comes into full swing. I hope that your October is fulfilled, successful, and flourishing.

STEPHEN DELA CRUZ THREE WAYS TO BEAT FEAR 1. Bigger Vision Trumps Fear Your vision is your driving force; its the reason you get out of bed every morning. If your vision is something that you don’t believe in it, then makes doing even the simplest tasks, difficult. When you create a vision that aligns with your soul and passion, something you can pour yourself into, it will help push you through even the scariest of tasks. Why do men and women go to the military, spend their day’s training and restricting their lives, to eventually be sent to war where they have a very real chance of dying? It is because they have a vision. They see what their job does, and whether it be protection, glory, or respect, their vision is tremendous. They believe in their vision so much that they are literally willing to give their lives for it.

Fear is something that every entrepreneur has
to deal with daily. Whether it is gambling your money at the casino, starting a new business, or even heights, fear is just a natural part of our lives. If you want to become a fulfilled, successful, and flourishing entrepreneur, you must overcome your fears to help drive you to your goals. So I want to share with you the three tips that will help you push through fear and start building your future. LBDMAGAZINE.COM 4 LIFE BY DESIGN OCTOBER 2018
This is the power of a vision. Someone with no vision will find it hard to live their lives, while someone with a vision will find it easy to lay down their life for what they believe in. 2. Accountability Pushes You When you write down your goals, it is a way of holding yourself accountable. But, what helps you more than a piece of paper? A person. Generally speaking, if we have someone to report to, we are more likely to accomplish our goals. This can come from a few places, we either don’t want to disappoint another person, or we don’t want them to know that we failed. The pain of knowing we let someone down, or the pleasure of feeling accomplished and respected. Either way, someone else holding you accountable can help you accomplish your goals, and push through your fear! 3. What’s The Worst That Can Happen My favorite tool when I am faced with a fear is to ask myself, “What is the worst thing that could happen?” A great example of this is networking. There are many entrepreneurs that are afraid of going out and networking but if you look at it, what is the worst that can happen? You could spill your drink all over your pants; people could laugh and think you wet yourself. You could leave embarrassed. So really the worst thing that could happen is you could be embarrassed and miss out on one client. Or that exact same thing could happen, you get less embarrassed, laugh at yourself. Leading to people respecting your confidence, and then you make five sales. So ask yourself, what really is the worst thing that could happen, because chances are, you will be fine tomorrow. Always remember fear can be bad but… Did you die?

Your E-commerce Business Store? Good online ranking is significant for all business domains; however, while it comes to the e-commerce realm, it is more than only indexing your ecommerce web pages on search engines.
WHOM SHALL I

The
Lord is my light and my salva- Born and raised in Harrisburg, Pennsyltion; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the vania, Jeffrey commissioned as a US stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be Naval Officer from the prestigious inafraid? When I was one year old, I really was not aware of anything, except maybe for the green pea-mush my mother fed me every day. Other than that, I was unaware of many things: what my parents were doing when they were changing my diapers, how blazing hot the summer was, or how bone-chilling cold it got in the winter. I was unaware of the defining beauty in the seasonal birth of a new spring, as well as the aged and gentle shades of color of a fading fall. And among other things, I was also unaware of who I was. Now, as we grow, our awareness also grows. I’ve come to know that our lives are bounded by the awareness we have of ourselves and our surroundings. We are limited by the limitations of those we associate with our life. You see, as we are raised, we are influenced by the objects of our environment -- people we associate with, the overarching society, the culture that society created, public education and overall information we are exposed to, the music and the media, and even ourselves -- and so, as we grow, our awareness expands to the limitations of the influences in our lives. For example, if you were a child with your mind yet to be molded, and you lived in an environment that was overwhelmingly negative, you will most likely become a negative person. One other limitation is fear. But fear is senseless, unproductive, damaging, destructive, and paralyzing. Fear works its way into our minds and hearts through the influences in our lives, through the experiences we face, what we see, hear, and believe. For many, fear has truly become fabricated into their way of life, so much so, that over time, people become unaware of the disposition they are in. The deep, dark fog of fear has settled upon the mind, and many do not know and cannot find their way out. The minds of many have been trapped in the prison of fear. After so many years,

After serving in the US Navy for almost 6 years, Jeffrey moved on to the entrepreneurship world with the ultimate goal of bringing the saving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people. after the mind has been molded, the masses just go along with the fear. They accustom themselves to it. They accept it. Wrapped up in the bondage of fear, the gifts and blessings bestowed upon an individual either remain untouched or are forgotten, buried in its black pit. Hearts seized by fear results in frailty, a diminished frame of who he/she actually is. The fear of failure freezes us, so no good action is ever taken. Fear does not deserve a place in our lives. Here are three pieces of advice to help you overcome fear: 1) Be aware of and expand your circle to include the True and Living God. If your limits are defined by the limitations of those you associate with, then know that God has no limitations and that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” 2) Use the gifts given to you for your advantage, your enjoyment and to glorify God. For those who have God in their life, they have not been given the spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7). For God is love and there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). 3) Seek and trust God. Be bold and confident, take the initiative for the work you are to accomplish, and know you are not alone. In other words, just do it. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

If you belong to the e-commerce domain, it is tremendously significant for you to outsource e-commerce SEO services to increase massive accreditation from customers. While your online store obtains higher ranked on the peak of search engines, it repeatedly improves the online presence of it which further grades in better conversions. SEO for e-commerce sites is a little bit demanding than SEO for normal business websites. “I QUIT!” by
BOOK REVIEW
The title itself “I QUIT” had me intrigued, anxious, and excited for
the content and the meaning behind it. We always hear from our colleagues, friends, and mentors to NEVER QUIT and here we have someone talking about QUITTING, right?! I love how the author was able to share with us different perspectives on how to see things. She was able to invite us to be ok with quitting, but in the right way and with the right things. She was able to do this by giving us in detail, and when I say in detail what I mean is in DETAIL, of her personal life experiences that rarely people openly talk about. She used illustrations of what quitting the wrong and quitting the right way looks like so that you and I, can relate to her with our own personal experiences. We may not have experienced the exact same situations, but the principles and outcomes were similar. You can feel the authenticity and transparency throughout the book, as the saying goes, “This is for realz!” I appreciated the harmony of this book; from the story behind the title to tangible takeaways that any entrepreneur (or anyone) can appreciate and run with. Casey talked about and gave steps on how she was able to transform herself from having a victim mentality to being a victor. If there are things in your life that you know in your heart you should quit, but feel like you can’t. This book is definitely written for you. This book will help you find what you need to quit and help you explore the right way. “I QUIT” is an eye-opener that success is also about quitting - the right way. Hope you also find the things you need to quit on. P.S. What a memorable experience when the author of the book your reading is also your best friend. I am so honored and blessed to know and work with the author personally. Ms. Casey Nicole Fox is definitely on a mission of changing the world; one reader at a time. by Jennifer Meim JenniferMeim.com ENTREPRENEUR LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE 7
The Truth About Your “TRUTH”:
SUCCESS MASTERY MEMBER
The One Lesson I Learned From Joining A Bunch Of MLM Companies
FOOD & FEAR According to Tony Robbins, human beings live off two emotions. We make all of our decisions based on two emotions - passion or pain.
Dear Reader, I’m going to be completely honest with you: I’ve been on and off this entrepreneur train since I was 19.
Yoichi J. Kato
aka “Chef Yum Yum” www.YoichiJKato.com Yoichi Kato is an author, speaker, serial entrepreneur, Navy veteran. He is the co-founder of San Diego’s most popular cleaning service called Everything But Sex Cleaning Services. He is a master business networker who is always connecting people. He is also an amazing Chef who provides private chef services all over San Diego. Yoichi loves to help others and see them thrive.
Now we link everything to passion or pain. Here is an example, my mentor has been winning a lot of money at the casino. So, casino to him is a passion. Some people will always lose to the casino. They hate going to the casino because they link to the pain since they are continually losing to the casino. So, we go toward where are top five restaurants my mentor there’s passion and avoid where there loves for stress eating: is pain. Fear is the same exact way. As a child, kids can play with snakes, cockroaches, or even wild animals as they are growing up. Kids will play with whatever it is until they get hurt. Once they get hurt, they now associate that item with pain. Now that they are hurt, they will avoid being hurt at all costs. What I absolutely love about food is that it is so diverse. Food is a way to ease people’s pains. When people are stressed, they go towards foods that are called “comfort foods.” Foods that brings them comfort in their emotions, for example, ice cream, fried chicken, and cheese burgers. Basically, any kind of unhealthy food with an insane number of calories.
• Eddie V’s Prime Seafood in La Jolla for the view and good food •Truluck’s for the food and ambiance and live piano also in La Jolla •Popeye’s Fried Chicken •Ghirardelli Chocolate & Ice Cream •In & Out Burgers Although eating out at all these restaurants constantly can be very expensive. Instead, you can always go and invest in a meal prep or private chef to cook food to your absolute likings. Use food to ease your pain but make sure it’s healthy.
The challenge is you don’t want to dilute your pain with food. That’s how people become unhealthy, overweight, and even diabetic. When you are feeling the need, for some good food to ease your pain or stress; here
LIFE BY DESIGN OCTOBER 2018 2018 8 LBDMAGAZINE.COM OCTOBER
Around that time in my life, I joined my first network marketing company that sold me the dream of “being your own boss” and escaping the 9-5 “rat-race.” Being naive I joined the cause, even though I’d never worked 40 hours in one week before. A couple more companies later and I started noticing the same pattern: Spend all week bugging your friends and family about some “business opportunity” that you’re instructed to be deliberately vague about. Drag them to a meeting. Have them watch some delusional video with happy people living the dream life, with fast cars, gigantic dream houses, and images of inconceivable amounts of money. Then convince them to “just find 3 people” to bring along to the next meeting and see the same video. Wash, rinse, repeat. I know it sounds like I’m bashing on network marketing and I kinda am and that’s probably because I never made any money like the rest of the 90% of failures. Here’s why my investment of $499 always went to waste. I wasn’t being honest with myself. I really didn’t care about the “perks.” Nor did I care about these crazy products and services I was selling. I didn’t even care about the
business opportunity. And the sad part? EVERYONE around me could see right through my poker face. I wasn’t being honest with my friends, family or the random people I’d talk to when I’d go “prospecting.” I was lying to myself and therefore, lying to everyone else. I only cared about one thing: Freedom. I wanted the freedom to do whatever the (explicit) I wanted, whenever I wanted, with whomever I wanted. To live life on my own terms. I had to FULLY accept this fact before finding the true key to my happiness - something that I personally could never find in any MLM company. I had to find and align with my “truth” a.k.a. my actual purpose in life. Now, age 27, I’ve been making money through my passion: writing, no less. As a copywriter, I now write words that print money for others. It’s super lucrative, and more importantly, it makes me happy. Sure, there are many people out there who’ve fallen in love with their MLM business (I know a few). And maybe pulling out of a multi-million mansion driveway in a Maserati just to go to the grocery store isn’t that important to you, either. But aligning with your purpose in life is the real key to happiness, no matter what you do. Your purpose is your truth, and it’s your truth that sets you free. by Joshua D. Copeland JoshWroteThat.com

WHY FEARS ARE SIMPLY STORIES
WE MAKE UP Jonathan

If Jonathan Ingebrigtsen could have any dream it would be that people spend more time making fun and quirky memories while seeing the world around them. Life is too short to wait till tomorrow or live life on a some-day mentality. He comes from the structured world of corporate HR and company cultural redisgn and made the transition to a life that allowed him to become a Travel Blogger and Real Estate professional serving our Veteran Community while Living Full Time! When he is not traveling around the world or helping his clients find their dream home, he loves parading around the house dancing to music, networking and developing others to help them reach their full potential, all-while munching on sour-gummies of all kinds.
Fear is usually the one thing that para-
lyzes someone and prevents them from taking action. Now, this could be as simple as not watching a scary movie, to having a business plan or idea that you want to pursue and being unable to do so because of something holding you back. If you have ever been afraid to do something, it’s time to get over that! There are a couple of common fears most people have as an entrepreneur. By merely overcoming these fears, you will be much more positioned for success. Rejection: See from a business perspective most people would think that their biggest fear or that most are afraid of is something like public speaking, but in reality, most people fear rejection more than anything. The biggest piece of advice I could ever offer is to stop taking into account what people think about you and what their opinions are. Remember that people’s views are not going to pay your bills. If you have a goal or dream in mind, then pursue it because it ignites your fire. Even when
Bill Gates was starting Microsoft or Steve Jobs with Apple, people rejected their concepts and ideas, can you think of what the world would be like or wouldn’t for that matter today if they had listened? Not Having Time: One of the biggest reasons I hear from aspiring entrepreneurs about why they don’t pursue their dreams or try something new is, “a lack of time.” While time is one of the most precious commodities out there, most of us aren’t using our time as effectively as we could. The most useful tool I have found is something called calendar blocking. Outside of your regular schedule or as an entrepreneur break down your daily schedule on paper and every day have set times for set actions to become more productive. You will end up finding you have more time than you think. Unknown: Fear is usually coming from a position of misunderstanding. By this, I mean not being fully informed on where that fear is stemming from. For example, take the industry of network marketing, A LOT of people fear the industry, but most of those fears derive from common misperceptions and misinformation that isn’t factually accurate about the industry itself. But with a little education, you’ll find out that network marketing is the number one way someone can make an additional stream of income with insanely low risk. Why is there negative juju around it? Most haven’t taken the time to really look into the field and have made their opinions on those of others. So, educate yourself on what you are interested in. I promise you’ll be fearless!

FEA R to FA I T H All my life I struggled with self-doubt, self-confidence, and moving in faith. I grew up as the only child and was always confined to my home. When it was time to move out of the house, it was a massive reality for me to face, I no longer had the protection of my parents as I did when living in the household. Now it was time for me to take the step to learn to be the person God has created me to be. When I went to college, I met the man of my dreams, Stephen Dela Cruz. He was such a go-getter. When we graduated, we became Youth Pastors at a Brazilian Church in San Francisco, CA. He lead the youth group, did the preaching and developed a leadership team. I was always the one who was hiding behind the scenes helping out. I always had a fear to step out. So one day he decided to push me without me being prepared. He came to me and said you are going to do the sermon tonight. I freaked out. When it was time for me to go up, my hands were sweating, I started to tremble walking up, and when I spoke, I burst out in tears out of fear. By the end of the speech, I ran off humiliated.

Teens are always afraid of growing up and never getting out of school. Adults are always afraid of everything in life: losing their jobs, their business shutting down, losing their house or apartment, their significant other leaving them, or that their kids will go hungry. Seniors are always afraid of their time to depart this earth. Why are people afraid? What do they fear? If it’s a test you’re taking in school or you’re trying to make enough money to live, but you’re afraid that you will fail or lose your job or business, don’t be scared! Stop living your life in fear. There are always going to be naysayers that will put fear in your mind. The more you fear, the more you will live in fear for the rest of your life - if you let it. “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” Franklin D. Roosevelt I agree, but it is fear within yourself that you have to worry about and face. Self-doubt, low self-esteem, and depression - those are your real fears. 5 WAYS TO
SUCCESS MASTERY MEMBER
FACE YOUR FEARS & ATTAIN SUCCESS Do you feel like your fears, limiting beliefs, and apprehension are holding you back from an amazing life? Want to get out of your comfort zone and reach goals you never thought possible? Here are 5 ways you can face your fears and attain success. 1. Do what you fear and your fear will disappear. Do what you are most afraid of instead of overthinking it. Stop spending time doubting yourself or avoiding what you know you need to do. So many times we believe that we can’t do something or we won’t be good enough, when in fact those are just lies. Pastor Miles McPherson said, “Fear stands for False Evidence Appearing Real.” Fear is just a combination of lies that we believe to be true. We are afraid to face our fears because, in our mind, we create the worst possible outcome of what can happen if we do. 2. Overcome self-limiting beliefs. When you only believe that you can reach a certain goal, you limit yourself from reaching your full potential. I love how Grant Cardone mentions you should take your current goal and multiply it by 10; that way you are not limiting yourself to what you think you can accomplish, rather stretching yourself to reach a goal you never thought possible. 3. Stretch your mind to a new dimension, and it will never shrink back to its original form. When you reach a goal for the first time that you did not believe possible, you will never again believe that goal is not achievable. Your abilities are only limited
WTF - WHAT THE FEAR?!
by your mindset. When you believe in yourself and that you are capable of 10 times the amount that you think you are, reaching goals that you once thought were unattainable is now an attainable reality. 4. That which does not kill you makes you stronger. When you go through something traumatic, you can choose fear or you can choose courage. You can choose to retreat and live your life in fear of that trauma happening again or you can choose to find the strength to overcome it and allow it to be a testimony to change the lives of others. 5. When you run towards your fears, they get smaller. The more you face your fears, the smaller they become. Some people are terrified of networking. When you were younger, you were probably taught to never talk to strangers. As entrepreneurs, talking to strangers helps you to attain success, but requires you to step out of your comfort zone. As you continue to attend events and meet new people, your fear of it diminishes. Do you know deep in your heart that if you could just face your fears that you would get so much further with your business? You have probably heard the popular quote that says “Magic happens outside of your comfort zone.” So get out of your comfort zone, start facing your fears, and reach goals you never thought possible. by Lauren Aven LaurenAven.com

Fear is a great topic. Did you know
that fear is created from ourselves? As the great legend Franklin D. Roosevelt said it best, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” Now, what creates fear? Honestly, it’s things that occurred in our past or things we have never done before. For myself, I feared public speaking. I am a very confident guy, but speaking in front of a large audience was something I was afraid of. What scared me most and may go for all of us was: stuttering, messing up, looking like a fool and being afraid to be laughed at. Can you relate? I bet you do. I was once a whimp to speak in front of an audience, but I am now speaking at schools, mastermind events and so on. How did I overcome that particular fear? If you are ready, here are a few tips I used to punch my fear of public speaking in the face. 1. Awareness Fear is in our imagination; we create what makes us see reality scarier then it is. With fear, you must have the awareness to take action against it. Without knowing what you fear, it almost becomes things that are all that exist because you are experiencing it. You as a person become full of fear and avoid anything that is riskful. Don’t let your fears overcome you.
becomes weaker because, in reality, it is not as bad as you would have thought. Find things you can do to help you get out of your comfort zone. The more uncomfortable you are, the stronger you become. I call it “anti-fear” Do whatever it takes to become successful in that part of your life you fear. 3. Failure I hate how schools use the word “failure” as a bad thing. The school system has built a chip into our heads saying when we fail a test, “you should be ashamed of yourself”, this creates fear! Most of our fears are fear of failure or somehow not living up to society’s standards. In reality, failure is the best thing that can happen to you. For most, failure may seem the end of the world, but it actually sets you free from society standards. Failure is a stepping stone to our success and our personal growth to become a better person. When you are at a low point due to failure, that’s when a lot of your growth excels. With that being said, those are my tips to sucker punch fear. Fear is all a mindset we built into our heads. Those who face their fears become knowledgeable and a person of growth. Those who don’t face fear become closed minded and P.O.O.R (Passing Over Opportunities Repeatedly). Where do you want to stand?
2. Action Taking Once you are aware of your fears, it’s time to sucker punch them. When taking action against your fears, it

”Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.”- Unknown
Simply put, fear is anxiousness over something unknown. Most things you fear are things that never come to fruition. Valuable time is wasted conjuring up all kinds of scenarios and situations that only end up freezing you into inaction. This inaction keeps you stagnant, preventing you from growing and pursuing your dreams.
Janine Holman is a freelance writer, photographer, and travel blogger founder of Life Beyond Awesome – a site of travel journeys for adventurers, foodies, and lovers of luxurious things. Her stories cover both local and international travel and focus on diving into cultures and communities and the people who make them thrive. Most of all Janine enjoys sharing her life’s adventures and showing others how they too can design a Life Beyond Awesome.
The great news is you can take control of fear by implementing a few simple tactics that get you beyond BELIEVE SIMPLE those fears. TALK SIMPLE Keep your conversations positive and uplifting. Let your light shine in your words, your tone, and your attitude. Talk with people who help you see the world differently. When you open your mind to someone else’s experiences and viewpoints, you expand and challenge yourself to see things through fresh eyes. THINK SIMPLE The simplest form of fear is overthinking. To avoid overthinking, stop trying to control outcomes. Don’t over complicate things by trying to come up with scenarios for every situation. Don’t tangle things in your own mind by trying to guess what someone else is going to say, or how they are going to react to what you will be doing. In attempting to control an outcome by anticipating every scenario or situation, you only end up overwhelming yourself. Take a step back and keep your thoughts simple – focus only on the goals you want to achieve and the steps you are going to take to achieve them. Everything else is pure speculation and should be left out.
Now don’t read this and think your dreams and goals should be small. Small is not necessarily simple. Small is just small. Simple beliefs are about removing distractions so you can see clearly. Remove the doubt. Remove comparing yourself to others. Remove beliefs that don’t progress you forward. Clear the clutter and set your sights on things that push you to new heights. Facing fear awakens you and makes you feel alive. Today, I invite you to be the somebody nobody thought you would be. Identify what you are fearful of. Ask yourself, “What scares me today?” Then go and do what fears you. You’ll have a sense of accomplishment that lingers with you for days to come.

When was the last time you did something for the first time? Darius Rucker’s new song asks that same question, and it resonated with me. It is a valid question we should all ask ourselves from time to time, whenever we feel ourselves settling into a routine that seems just a little too comfortable or a little too easy. A few months ago, I took a huge leap outside my comfort zone and jumped into a business that forced me to face my fears and to believe in myself. My whole life I have been the epitome of a wallflower, never wanting to stand out or make myself known. Not being great at small talk or starting conversations, I usually let people talk to me. First, I would send emails or texts rather than make phone calls or converse face-toface. Then I was introduced to a business opportunity that could give me the lifestyle I have always wanted: freedom to work when I wanted from where I wanted! How could I say no? The catch? The business is 100% network marketing…in other words, I would have to talk to people…face to face! Um, what!? I was (and still am!) extremely apprehensive about what this required of me…basically stepping way outside my comfort zone into unknown territory. But, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to create the life I wanted. Here are 5 steps I have learned that are helping me face my fears and dive into the unknown: 1. Surround Yourself with Positivity – Through my business opportunity, I was introduced to an awesome network whose main purpose is to support, encourage, and believe in
YOU! They want you to succeed on an equal level to their desire to succeed! Their belief in you translates into your belief in you! 2. Embrace the Awkward – Remember the first time you rode a bike? Or started at a new school? In the beginning, it was awkward and uncomfortable, but over time you adjusted, and before you knew it, you can’t remember a time when you didn’t know what you were doing! 3. Your Attitude Determines Your Direction – You attract the energy you put out in the world! Stepping outside your comfort zone may raise your heart rate and cause your palms to sweat. Don’t let your anxiety impede your positive thoughts about your journey. It could end up derailing your forward momentum. 4. Face Your Fears – Identifying your fear of the unknown and going forward despite that will ultimately feel better than giving in to your fear and giving up! (Check out Feel the Fear… and Do it Anyway by Susan Jeffers, Ph.D.). 5. Be Limitless! – Know your worth! Once you believe that you can succeed at whatever you put your mind to and recognize that there are no boundaries to your ability, you will be open to the unlimited potential that you have! With these five steps in your toolkit, stepping outside your comfort zone will fill you with excitement not dread. So, believe in yourself and BE LIMITLESS! by Amber Kerstein amberkerstein.arbonne.com

Fear is a meaningful sense to pos-
sess. This feeling keeps us safe by telling our brain to either fight or flight in dangerous situations. This goes back to caveman days because there were predators everywhere while these older ancestors hunted. In 2018, fear is no longer something that merely keeps us safe. Now, this sense steals people’s ambitions, drive, success, and happiness. When we do not try new things due to fear, we never grow personally, spirituality, or in our careers.

The “55” is the year Frank was born. Understandably, there’s an unprecedented amount of passion shown in merely just the name. But when you get to the tacos, that’s where LOLA 55 stands out more than any other taco restaurant. This restaurant is so unique because it is chef-driven and no two dishes are the same. The culinary team prides itself on utilizing only the freshest ingredients. Every taco has its own sauce, flavor, and kick; yet is still full of the ubiquitous cilantro that gives it the fresh, authentic Mexican taste. It makes me feel right at home. However, Mr. Vizcarra was never on the search for advising the top executives of major corporations like McDonald’s, The Coca-Cola Company, and many more. Frank Vizcarra was a soccer star who led his college team at Ohio State for four years, he then played professionally on numerous teams for four more years. Vizcarra said, “I really wasn’t looking for business, I wanted to get a job in a PR or marketing agency…” After six months of business testing in a management training program, Vizcarra was appointed as a manager of Pizza Hut. That is where his business instincts kicked in. After helping others build their businesses for so long, Frank wanted to own his own business, a taco shop of some sort. 1. Become a Sponge.

Do
you remember being fearless when you were a kid; as if nothing could ever throw you off course of your dreams? You could climb trees like nothing, or eat anything that was in sight. When we were little, we all had our dreams and goals of being an astronaut, a rock star, or in my case owning my own restaurant. Unfortunately, fear killed those aspirations. Fear is such a universal feeling for people like me. I have always had a fear of jumping into new things, whether it be a new relationship, trying a new restaurant, or even starting my own business. In my fearless days, I could care less about what people thought of my goals because they were MY goals! However, I let the opinions of others steer my perspective off-course. It was the junior year of high school when I told my mother of my lifelong dream of owning my own high end, black and white attire restaurant. She immediately swats down my dream, all because she was scared of me not having a “stable” income. I let her fear control my heart and my future. You see, the Merriam-Webster definition of an entrepreneur is, “one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise.” You took a risk by starting your own business. You put all of your fears aside and pursued your passions. You decided to stop helping someone else build their dream and to start to build your own. I truly applaud you for that because I know how hard it is to put all the fears aside and start your dreams. At the age of 17, I started my aquarium maintenance business. I pushed all the hate aside and just pursued one of my passions. I changed my environment by focusing on the typical college-bound, academic life to now focusing on my aspirations and passions. However, I may have gotten too fearless.
Leandro is a ‘Teenpreneur’ whose passion is saltwater aquariums; which have helped him through many tough times. Leandro started an aquarium cleaning service in San Diego called, Reefalicious, as well as co-founded a clothing brand for entrepreneurs called “Enspired.” Leandro pioneered the Young Entrepreneur Society (YES) Club at his school and is now a director at multiple schools. He helps fellow students like him who have the burning desire to start their own business and pursue their passions successfully. He aspires to be the person he wished he had when he was younger.
My lack of fear in the aquarium industry led me to become extremely fickle. I started cutting toxic corals without protective wear and reaching around ruthlessly in established aquariums until it came back and bite me back. Literally! See, in the aquarium hobby, there are too many things that can kill you. Whether it be ingesting the chemicals that you use to treat the water or the actual critters themselves. I woke up with my whole hand completely swollen and burning on fire, I immediately knew it was from the aquarium. I had a cut which got poisoned with deadly palytoxin from the corals. In business, a lack of fear leads to making poor decisions, I mean after all, why should I be scared of a fish tank? But you see, fear is good! It leads you to take precautions! When we as entrepreneurs change our environment, we get scared, but we NEED to take action to alleviate those fears. So, I urge you to overcome your fears and pursue your passions!

Begin soaking up knowledge from those in your industry by attending creditable conferences and networking events. Next, soak up information from tangible resources. Instead of listening to music every day, listen to TED talks, YouTube videos, podcasts, or audiobooks. Let’s say you’re starting a business and you don’t know how to market yourself, find someone who is brilliant at marketing. Hang around people who are consistent in taking action towards their dreams. They will show you how to keep going even when you’re tired. They will teach you how to keep a happy home while having a business. Their life will teach you more than their words. Lisa Nichols stated, “All that fear means is that you don’t have enough information.” Become a wealth of knowledge. The more information you have, the more confidence you have. The more material you have stored up, the deeper your conversation can go. The more wisdom you have, the more assurance you walk in. 2. Move Without Hesitation Remaining a sponge for the rest of your life sets you up to do amazing things. Next, become the person who learns from the greats and applies the information. Why? Because information is not power, movement and consistency is power. What you don’t actively participate in, you won’t master. What you don’t tap into every day becomes stagnant. Before your head hits your pillow every night, make sure you learned one new thing and took one actionable step. 3. Dance with Faith. Fear and faith are fighting for the same space in your mind and time. One always wins over the other. We have to choose every day to let faith CRUSH fear. The greatest gift we can give ourselves is to manipulate fear for our benefit. by Logan Rena LoganRena.com

THE POWER OF FEAR
4 SIMPLE STEPS FROM A MUSICIAN
Fear is a powerful emotion. It can be the reason we don’t move forward, and it can also be the reason we do. Since the day we were born, we all have had to overcome fears to continue to grow and learn. As a child, it could be the first day of school. As a teen, it could be not fitting in. What is it that fuels our fears? Is it the unknown, is it fear of failure, is it lack of knowledge - these are just a few of the fears that can stop us from moving forward. Every stage of progress in life comes with a certain level of fear. Don’t allow fear to kill your dream. Entrepreneurs handle fear in what may seem to be a different way. Fear is what entrepreneurs use as motivation. As an entrepreneur, there are several roles and responsibilities you may have. You have your employee hiring, training, and retention (i.e., your business will be as good as the people working for you). With all the other responsibilities that entrepreneurs have to handle, they also have to handle their own fear. Don’t fight your fears. Recognize them. Overcome them. Fear isn’t all bad. It will make you more aware of the so-called little things. You just need to recognize fear, realize it, and continue building your business! What about the fear of not giving your dream a real chance? What about the fear of not showing yourself or maybe your kids that it is possible. And the fear of not having more time to spend with family and or seeing your kids grow up. Don’t be afraid of striving for the best out of life. Find out how much strength you do have. Trust that things will work out in the end and you will always find a way. Fear only has as much power as you give it.

“Wish Man” | A Major Motion Picture Always at his mother’s side, Frank Shankwitz spent much of his childhood on the move, frequently hungry and forever homeless. They moved around the country, sleeping in the family car as they ventured from one city to another in search of gainful employment. Frank remembers vividly those who went out of their way to show kindness and compassion. In every way, these acts of kindness fueled Frank’s journey. Without knowing it at the time, the selfless generosity of those around him would become the foundation on which Frank would build his legacy.

Journey with Frank as he shares the story of his legacy; a life rooted in kindness, near-misses and close calls. A life centered around the magic of making wishes come true.
ENTREPRENEUR OF THE MONTH
FRANK SHANKWITZ
F or most Americans, when we think of granting wishes, we think of the
Make-A-Wish Foundation. This amazing non-profit works to grant the wishes of children who have life-threatening health problems. Our featured entrepreneur for October is the man who started it all. Frank Shankwitz is the founder and first CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, through his life there has always been a theme of offering help when needed. Frank started his life off in Chicago. His mother left when he was two years old, leaving full custody to Frank’s father. Frank stayed with his father from ages two to five, but at five his mother found him on the playground and said, “We are going to Arizona.” Frank yelled and screamed because he did not know who this woman was, but eventually they left. Frank moved around with his mother from Illinois to Michigan, then to Arizona, where they landed in a small town because they had run out of gas yet again. It wasn’t a glamorous life, they often slept in the car, or in the tent, and finding food seemed always to be a problem. But this time a rancher found them and offered a helping hand, the rancher provided them a place to stay while they got back on their feet. For the next three months, Frank and his mother spent their nights sleeping on the kitchen floor. But Frank was happy to have a roof over his head, running water, and a shower that was indoors. It took about three months for Frank and his mother to save the money and get a small travel trailer of their own. They parked it behind the hotel Frank’s mother worked in, and even though it didn’t have a working shower, Frank was happy to have a place to live. One day while working, washing dishes, Frank saw someone building something across the street. He approached the man and asked what he was doing. This man, Juan, would come to be Frank’s father figure and first mentor. Juan helped Frank learn everything from carpentry skills to sports, but the most critical thing Frank ever learned from Juan still sticks with him to this day. Juan told Frank, “You take the time to give back whenever you can.” At the time Frank didn’t understand, “How can I help all these people? The ones helping my family?” This was when Juan pointed out the weeds in Mrs. Sanchez yard he could help clean, and the train car a family was fixing up that he could paint. This lesson is something that stuck with Frank his entire life and would help lead to the creation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. There were many challenges through Frank’s childhood, he was even abandoned by his mother that kidnapped him. Through all of this, he was taught to look at the silver- lining. When his mother left, he had a roof over his head, food in his belly, and for the first time a little spending money. There is always something good that can come out of even the worst situation. Challenges weren’t just limited to his childhood, Frank was a Highway Patrol officer in Arizona. In fact, he was one of the first ten motorcycle officers in Arizona! This ten man squad had the busiest season around Spring Break. It was the time of sex, drugs, and rock and roll this meant DUI’s, possession, and even murder in these spring break towns. One day Frank was in pursuit of a drunk driver doing eighty in a twenty-five zone! When out of nowhere another drunk driver crossed right in front of him. Frank flew over the car and was told the crash was spectacular. He was pronounced dead on the scene, his partner tried reviving him, but couldn’t. Just then an off-duty emergency nurse stopped and offered help. Despite Frank’s partner telling her that he was dead, she spent the next 4 minutes performing CPR and brought him back.
After recovering from a traumatic head injury, broken bones, missing skin, and everything else that happened in the crash, Frank was sent to counseling to make sure he was fit for the line of duty. In the last meeting with his counselor, he was asked, “Frank you know you died that day, right?” “Well I know I just don’t remember.” That is when his counselor told him, “ God spared you for a reason.” Frank thought, “Yeah but what could that reason be?” He was answered not long after, in the form of a wish. The idea for the Make-A-Wish Foundation started with a little boy named Chris with leukemia. This little boy loved the show CHiPs, and his two idols were Jon and Ponch, so his last wish before he passed was to meet a real motorcycle cop. With the permission of his doctors and his mother, they arranged a meet between Chris and Frank. At this point, Frank had no idea what to expect, the only thing he knew was that this kid just came off of an IV. As the Helicopter landed, all he could see was a pair of red sneakers jumping out and running towards him. That day Chris got to check out the motorcycle, help drive a cruiser, and meet his hero. When Frank saw his mother crying, he realized it was because she finally had her seven-year-old back. Frank could have stopped there, but to make this wish really come true, Frank and some of the other officers went above and beyond. Chris got a uniform, tested on a battery powered bike, and even got his own wings (wings pin that motorcycle cops wore). The day that Frank picked up the wings that had to be specially made, Chris was laying in a coma and expected not make it through the day. Miraculously as Frank pinned the wings on the uniform that hung up next to the hospital bed, Chris came out of the coma and asked, “Am I a motorcycle cop yet?” Frank replied, “Yes you are Chris.” Just a few hours later Chris passed, but he was given a full police funeral, and the badge number he was given is still his today. This experience is what inspired Frank to start the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Flying thirty-thousand feet over Kansas, Frank ask himself, “If I could grant this little boy a wish, why can’t I do this for more children?” This is where the Make-A-Wish Foundation was created, it took five people to start the charter in Arizona, and although it took them time, they eventually started the Make-A-Wish Foundation. From the first official Wish was granted in 1981. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has since granted 450,000 wishes for children with life-threatening diseases. When asked what his wish was Frank simply said, “For my story to be told.” Coming soon you will be able to see the full life story of Frank Shankwitz in the major motion picture “Wish Man”.

Burn off Fears using I.P.A As entrepreneurs, we all know how important physical fitness is to balance out our lives, but mental fitness doesn’t usually get too much attention. Do you lack confidence, become anxious, or fearful doing something as it relates to your business or life? If so, this may mean you need to do a few rounds at the mental gym to burn off your fears.
FEAR IS A
CHOICE When we are born, we are born
fearless. This is because we have not yet experienced anything to be afraid of. As we grow older, we become scared of things like monsters, and things like the dark that have come from personal experiences or from watching scary movies. Many fears start when you get a bad first experience when you come across something new. As our minds mature, we get over most of our fears. However, the ones that we do get over are then replaced by new ones. For example, when I was a child, I used to be scared of dogs because I was chased by my cousin’s pit bull who didn’t like me very much. After that experience, I was terrified of most dogs that I didn’t know. One day when I went out for a run, I ran straight into a pitbull who had just got out of its owner’s fence. At that moment the dog barked at me, and I froze, and I thought whether to turn back and run and possibly be chased or stand firm and try to get past it. I ended up standing and walking slowly towards it while it was still barking at getting closer to me. I had to be very attentive and slow. With each step I took the dog became a bit more aggressive. After a couple of tries of trying to walk through and the dog jumping on me a bit, I gave it one more try, this time a little bit farther from him. I was able to get past him, and I continued my run, this time carelessly. Sometimes getting over fear can take more than one try. However, to get over it, you must start with trying.

Fear is hardwired within us and is used as a survival mechanism. If there is physical danger fear is what tells us whether to stand our ground and fight or flee. As humans, we have the ability to learn, think, and create fear in our minds. For most of us, this is the fear that hinders our businesses, relationships, and everyday life. In many cases, this fear is self-generated but can be converted into a motivator and drive success. The following three steps (I.P.A exercise) will assist you in burning off your fears. Identify This is the warm-up phase, write down the top fear that is holding you back in your life. Also, write why you fear it, and where in your body you feel the fear. The fear may be deep-rooted, so think about a triggering incident in your life, it may be small as a playground incident or growing up around violence. As a result of negative life experiences, you weaved a story that is stored in your long-term memory. Anytime a new life experience occurs you view the negative experience through the story you created. This story is what generates the fear and blocks you from achieving your business and life goals. Plan This is the training phase. You will need to create a written plan that will address the fears directly. Journal about the story you created for 10-15 minutes and how it is not based on facts, but your interpretation of the facts. Talk to a partner, friend, family member or coach about how you are letting go of the story, and they can
hold you accountable during the next phase. Write out a detailed plan of how you would overcome the fear. For example, if you have some fear around public speaking, then maybe you start attending small sit down group discussions. Down the road, you can join a public speaking group to practice stand up speeches. At an advanced stage, you become a paid speaker. Visualize those steps taking shape. There is a lot of power in visualizing your future self. Staying with the public speaking example; close your eyes and visualize walking into the room, meeting friendly people, being introduced, smiling faces in the audience, huge applause at the end of your talk, and people approaching you at the end of the talk to exchange contact info. Act This final phase is the cooldown. You will take action on the written plan and visualizations that you practiced. Be very specific, methodical and consistent in carrying out your plan. Inform your accountability buddy about the actions you are taking. Sometimes our nerves act up while carrying out the plan. If you feel your heart is racing or sweaty hands, take some deep long inhalations and exhalations. You can choose to sit down and place a hand on your stomach. Feel the expansion of the stomach with every breath, and compression with the exhalation. When you follow through with your plans, make sure to celebrate. It does not matter how big or small, reward yourself with a massage, a nice meal, or a gift. This will continue to reinforce the positive steps you’ve taken towards balancing your life. Try out the I.P.A process for 45 days. Like anything else, you have to practice to become an expert at it, so stay consistent with the plan. Soon you’ll see your fears burning away. by Niraj Mendis NirajMendis.com

But, why should you wait so long? Why don’t you do some changes today that can literally enhance your life? Today is all you have! I dare you to recreate yourself. Take the day off to be with yourself, make the proper arrangements to avoid all kind of distractions or worries by letting everybody know that you will not be available for calls or messages, you will be “off the radar.” Start the day by having a healthy and tasty breakfast. Remember to pay attention to what feels right for your body. You will need all your best energy for this day. It is all about you! Look around your surroundings while you are eating, check every part with new eyes and ask yourself, how many of those things represent you? This is your home, does it feel like it? What would you like to change or add to make it feel more “yours”? Some small changes can make a big difference. After finishing your breakfast, go to your bedroom and check your closet. Follow the same process, go through your clothes and ask yourself if those are in alignment with the image you want to show to the world. Maybe it’s time for a new style, maybe not, perhaps you want to try new colors, something completely different, or make some small changes. Remember that be-
ing an entrepreneur is also having the freedom to choose whatever you want. You don’t have to copy somebody else’s style; you have the power to create your own. Be daring, be unique. Show who you are. Now you are ready to go out and face the day. What’s your favorite place to go? The beach? A hike to the mountains? The cinema? Shopping? Do what pleases you, what you enjoy the most by yourself. Once you are there, ask yourself again, if that is really what you like. I want you to challenge your believes every step of the way, to make sure you know what you want and who you truly are. You can recreate yourself as many times as you wish. After lunch, take the afternoon to explore new possibilities, new styles, new ideas, new brands, new colors, new places. Maybe you can go to that place you always wanted to go but couldn’t find the time. Perhaps you can just relax with your feet in the ocean and do nothing. Stay with yourself all day long, and even if you are tempted to call a friend or maybe your family, take that whole day for you and you only. The world is a big place with endless possibilities; you are the sole creator of your life, this world was created for you. Take advantage of everything you have to offer. You are worth it! Make it with such a deep connection with your soul and heart true desires, that the ride called life to become a very happy and enjoyable one. by Sylvia ‘America’s Love Queen’ Chavez SylviaChavez.com

Small Steps Lead to
BIG CHANGE Some may say I was a “late bloomer.” I spent my childhood nearly half the size of my friends and peers. I was built small and hardly spent any time working out. Senior year of high school, before football season started, the team did weight testing. I was able to bench press 135 lbs, four times. Tiny and weak. Fortunately, when I went to Providence College, I roomed with Pat, who became one of my closest friends. Pat spent most of his time in the weight room. Wanting his respect, I would tag along with him to the gym. When you first start lifting weights, you see little improvement. You have the initial surge of motivation where you can time travel ahead and see yourself tone and fit, but then reality sinks in. Pushing myself for my four measly reps of 135 lbs, I’d ask myself, “What’s the point?” I almost gave up dozens of times. Thankfully, I didn’t quit. Just about every weekday for four years I was in the gym. I started developing good habits that benefited me in the process. There weren’t any tricks to it, just simple actions taken repeatedly that compounded over time. I realize I didn’t quit because of accountability. In my head, I was accountable to Pat and had to be at the gym. It became hard to make an excuse to skip out. While nobody is going to mistake me for Mr. Universe, I can proudly say that I feel comfortable and confident in the gym.
PRACTICAL TIPS
I tell this story because I think there are powerful similarities between our financial behaviors and habits. We time travel ahead and see ourselves in the house of our dreams, perhaps sitting on our boat fishing, or driving up the California coastline in a sports car. Then reality sinks in. We have a lot of work to do if we want to get there. “I’ll never be able to do that. What’s the point?” The initial growth can feel sluggish and insignificant. I’ve heard people say, “I can only save $25/ month, why bother?” Sounds familiar to me in the gym. To avoid the early discouragement like I found in the weight room, acknowledge the seemingly small milestones on the way to your larger goals. Celebrate these wins and the road to big change, and true wealth won’t feel so strenuous. Find your Pat. There is someone you know whose opinion matters to you. Inevitably there are times we fall off track. Having someone that holds you accountable, directly or indirectly, is priceless. You won’t be the person that buys the year-long gym membership on January 1st only to stop showing up in February. Confidence and comfort isn’t an overnight path; it is attained through a series of positive actions repeated and built upon over time. by Rick Vazza www.drivenwm.com

LESSONS from a Marine:
CRUSH YOUR FEARS! When I got out of the marine corps,
I had a lot of fear. Fear of leaving the certainty and structure I had used to for the past four years. The fear of making the “right” decision. My thought process was that I needed someone to tell me what to do to throughout the day. For the next couple of months, I had this feeling of fear that was hard to shake. However, through all of this, I have learned three simple ways to: crush your fears, control your own life, and NOT let your worries take the wheel. 1: Set Definite Goals It may seem obvious, but I promise you that if you go through life without an end to your destination, then fear will find a way to drive you off course. Don’t let the fear of just being uncertain in what you want to get out of life take hold. Set a goal for yourself even if it is something small at first. Once complete your confidence will soar!

DISRUPT an Industry How do you get over 6,000 new clients, host and sell out a nationwide conference, and disrupt an industry in less than two years? It’s actually really simple. You become a thought leader. Hi, my name is Mark, and I have a successful online course where I teach thousands of people how to be Loan Signing agents. If you don’t know what that is, every time a Mortgage closes, a loan signing agent is hired to walk the borrower through their loan documents. You don’t need a college degree. You don’t need any experience, just a notary commission from your state. For your skill of pointing to where a home borrower signs in their loan documents, you can get paid $75 to $200. Plus, that appointment takes less than an hour! Crazy, right!? So, that’s what I do. I help people make money as signing agents via an online course called Loan Signing System. Before Loan Signing System, there was essentially ONE company that dominated this industry. So what did I do? I became a thought leader... I started a YouTube channel, an Instagram page, a Facebook page, a LinkedIn page, and I simply started sharing what I knew. I wasn’t asking anyone to buy anything on those social media outlets. I just shared the knowledge… for free! And do you know what happened? People started following me. At first, it was just a few dozen… then a few hundred… then a few thousand. Now I have over 750,000 views on YouTube and nearly 25,000 followers on all my social media channels combined. Okay… I know... that may be a far cry from an influencer like Gary Vee, but I am now THE most followed and viewed person within my niche. And because of that, I was able to create a new business that helps people learn and grow in my industry. I have over 6,000 students and sold out a nationwide conference! It all started by just sharing
what I know on free social media outlets. Being a thought leader is nothing more than producing content…. a lot of it… and then sharing it for free. You can be a thought leader in your industry or your niche by merely producing content! On as many platforms as you can handle. Let’s be honest. Gary Vee isn’t saying anything groundbreaking. His message is work hard, then work harder. But, he spreads that same message on every platform! You don’t need to overthink how to be a thought leader in your niche. Stop thinking, and just start producing a piece of content today. Then share it and repurpose it on all the platforms you have. Then do that again. Every day, every week, every month and every year. You will become a thought leader. Simply by default. Why? Because content is king. I shoot content on my phone and upload it to YouTube. Then repurpose it to all of my platforms. It’s really that simple. The best part of being a thought leader is your ability to change people’s lives. The coolest part of changing other people’s lives is, in return, your life changes. Which is why that’s why my number one recommendation for your content is to focus on helping your viewers improve their lives… not on what you can sell them! Most entrepreneurs won’t share their expertise until someone pays for it first. But, the best thought leaders understand that you share your knowledge first, help them improve their lives, and they will naturally want to BUY your product or service. You do that through free content! Create a post, share your knowledge regularly and FOCUS on helping your viewers improve their lives! I’m excited to see you grow your business and become a thought leader in your space. by Mark Wills Loansigningsystem.com
FEAR, THE INSIDE STORY Fear manifests in many forms, from butterflies in the stomach to a full-blown panic attack. This is commonly known as the “fight or flight” state or Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) Activation. God designed this automatic reflex to protect us in times of danger. We need to bring the body and mind back into balance or homeostasis. The parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) controls homeostasis and is responsible for the body's "rest and digest" function. While most people are not faced with life-threatening situations on a daily basis, our bodies perceive that we are. The body can’t differentiate between real or imagined stress and therefore activates the SNS. In this frame of mind, we can either take the active role in the driver’s seat or allow ourselves to become a passive passenger. Below are some of the ways to change the physiological reactions of fear and stress in the body and mind. Focused Breath- As the saying goes “just breathe.” Slowing the breath lowers your heart rate, blood pressure. Counting on the inhale and exhale helps to bring focus to the breath. Reciting positive affirmations also assists with focus. Meditation- During meditation healthy brain waves get stimulated, boosting our Alpha, Theta, & Delta Waves. It increases beneficial chemicals in the body such as Melatonin, Serotonin, and Endorphins. Meditation reduces Cortisol, a stress hormone that wreaks havoc on the body. Meditation also influences brain functions, increase neural plasticity, modulates autonomic, metabolic, endocrine, and immune functions. Yoga- Moving through a flow of poses, or asanas, with focused breath opens and stretches the body relieving pain and even trapped emotions. Yoga releases dopamine
and oxytocin and increases levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) all of these neurotransmitters decrease anxiety and improve the mood. Music- Music releases Beta Endorphins which are the body’s natural opioid peptide transmitter. Try soft classical music, nature sounds or Binaural Beats. Singing/Chanting- When you sing, vibrations move through you, altering your physical and emotional landscape. Endorphins and oxytocin hormones are released by singing. Oxytocin also enhances feelings of trust and bonding.

Inhale, diffuse or topically apply a calming fragrance- There are many choices of calming oils. Lavender is most commonly known for calming. Peppermint has a unique characteristic in that it can be either calming or invigorating and balances the body accordingly. My advice is to try a few oils that match other benefits to serve your needs. Essential oils stimulate the limbic region of the brain when inhaled. Spiritual Faith- Having a spiritual belief in God helps to strengthen our faith in our life’s journey. We become more accepting and hopeful of a higher purpose and message in our circumstances. Having a spiritual faith has been proven to lower stress, anxiety, and depression. Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. - James 1:2-3 NLT

What is fear? Fear is characterized
by feeling vastly uncomfortable. We all have our own comfort zones and the things we fear. I’d like to share one of the best talks I ever heard on comfort zones. On a piece of a paper draw a big dot. That dot is you. Now draw a circle around that dot- that’s, your comfort zone. Next, draw an X outside of the circle. That is where growth happens. Growth only happens outside of your comfort zone. While this news may not be profound, it was so impactful to me. How can you grow from inside of your comfort zone? You can’t! One of the easiest ways to drive more fulfillment into your life is to know that you can change. You can work to change into an ideal version of yourself. You can change your thoughts, your words, and your actions. Dale Carnegie said, “Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage.” The overwhelming majority of people are held back by their own limiting beliefs. Think about an aggressive goal that you have. Now think about the different reasons you would describe it as aggressive. One of the reasons might be that you’ve never done it before, aka your goal is outside of your comfort zone. Some of the other reasons may be the goal is aggressive because you are/are not ______ [insert trait here]. Many of these traits are not written in stone. Many of these traits can be learned or refined by small activities. For example, take the trait of introversion. Many would say you can’t change your disposition between introversion and extroversion; while this may or may not be true, there are many things that an “introverted” person can do that could embody strengths of someone who is more naturally extroverted. Some limiting beliefs an introvert might have may include “I am not a people person,” “I’m not good at talking to people,” “People don’t natu-
Most people, raise a family, earn a living, lie on a deathbed and whisper “I wish I would have...” to a grandchild, then they die. Kind of brutal? It is meant to be. I heard it from my Papa in his last days as I asked him what the most important thing in life is. His response was family, but he also wished he experienced more in life and was more in control of his life.
Her major passions include long term work/life balance, health, and fitness. She’s currently working on a women’s empowerment project. So be on the lookout for this rising star! rally gravitate toward me.” Small things that someone with these limiting beliefs could do include smiling at more people, engaging in short, nostakes conversations, and approaching people and just saying hello. These activities may start outside of the comfort zone, and a person may be fearful of these activities. However, if that person did little things often enough, then these activities would gradually be closer to their comfort zones, and may eventually make it inside of the comfort zone. A similar strategy can be applied to most limiting beliefs. Take a moment to evaluate your limiting beliefs. What thoughts are you thinking? What words are you saying? What actions are you taking? Next, work backward- what traits do you wish to embody in your life? What actions would someone whom you’d want to be more like be taking? What words are they saying? What thoughts are they thinking? Now start your changes with what you think, what you say, and what you do.

You will doubt yourself. You will ask “Why God? Why is this happening to me? I am just trying to take care of my children and my spouse. I am doing everything that is expected of me. Why does is this keep happening to me?” As you hear in conversations or as you scroll through your social media, a lot of people like to complain, but they don’t want to do anything to fix their situation. The number one reason is FEAR. “What if things don’t work out?” I can still hear my Bootcamp instructor from 18 years ago, screaming at us: “It’s all mindset and you have to understand fear is the crap you make up in the 6 inches between your ears.”
I never learned the benefits of owning a business or entrepreneurship in school. I just followed the “system.” I still believe in education, but I wish there were more life classes out there. I love serving my country, but I can hear my Papa’s whispering to me. Go for more. I recommend you grab a side hustle or a passion project that can open many more opportunities for you and your family. Are you living the life you wanted, or are you working yourself to death, while the owners are off having a cocktail in Bora Bora? I wasn’t about to settle and go through the motions of paycheck to paycheck. I want to live a “never settle lifestyle!” When you take that first step forward today, please understand that everybody won’t see it and won’t believe it is possible. It’s so important that you remember that. It’s necessary that you align yourself with people and attract people who are hungry and have a huge reason why. 3 NLP Techniques
to BREAK THROUGH FEAR and LIMITING BELIEFS
Two Fears Humans are born with two fears. Fear of falling and fear of loud noises. But unfortunately, humans have a knack for developing new fears. Most adults have dozens of fears, both rational and highly irrational. Fears get installed by our ‘programming’. Our upbringing, parents, schooling, friends, experiences and so on. Our programming includes everything we perceive through our five senses. For example, a baby learning to crawl finds a spider, and as babies do, puts it into their mouth. This triggers the parents’ fear response. They yell, ‘No!’ and quickly pick the baby up. At that age, being picked up quickly is like falling. So, you have loud noises and falling in one moment. The child develops a fear of spiders, and later on, in life has no idea where it came from. That’s programming. NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and Limiting Beliefs
moment and being rooted in the sensations of the body. Do this by taking a few deep breaths. By being rooted and aware we can examine our mental and emotional states. Are you happy, sad, bored, interested, checked out? Next, we can look at what triggered these states. Only by being aware of fear, can we examine it deeply and get to its root. 2. Recognize Triggers Here we begin to bring awareness to the events that trigger our fears. For me, it’s someone saying ‘no.’ It drives me mad! I believe anything is possible, so to me, anyone who says no is a negative person. No is my trigger. Especially if I believe the answer to be yes. But, by noticing my reaction to ‘no,’ I can question it. Is my reaction justified? How does my behavior change as a result? Is the reaction appropriate?
Fear isn’t bad. Being afraid of poverty or a life that lacks meaning can motivate us immensely. But being controlled by fear is terrible. Very bad.
And therein lies the rub. Which actions are appropriate? How do we consistently choose those?
At the Business Institute for Growth (BIG), one of our tasks is working with members to identify and overcome their fears.
Now, you’re in a position to change your reactions and implement ones that serve you. You have to find ways to break the pattern.
By learning and practicing skills, we gain confidence. Once confidence and trust develop, we can begin using more in-depth techniques to dismantle more deeply held fears.
Take deep breaths. Slow down. Move to a different room. Go for a walk. Do whatever you need to change your state and clear your mind.
So what are some of these techniques? Below are three simple things you can do to start taking control of your fears.
Ultimately, you’re trying to change how you view the trigger. By changing your mindset, you change your reaction and your life.
1. Recognize the Emotional States To change a habit, you need to identify it. So to change fears, you have to become aware of them. Start by prioritizing awareness in the present

This is more than likely the most talked about fear in the world of business. Everyone knows it takes guts and conviction just to start a business much less grow it. When we begin any endeavor, we know that the spectators are looking, watching, and judging our every decision. This is naturally unnerving, but many of us stop because we don’t want people to watch us fail. For those with this widespread fear I want you to be very aware of the fact that any risk taken in life is much like being a tightrope walker at a circus. Think about the focus needed to pull this off successfully. The men and women that do this look like they were born to walk perfectly on a line that’s thinner than most of our patients. What we don’t know or see from them is how nervous they are doing it deep down. There are lights, cameras, and hundreds of people watching live on the edge of their seats. They must drown out the noise of the audience, disregard the spotlights, and zero in on keeping their balance while moving forward: for if they don’t do these things their chances of falling are drastically increased. The most important thing they must be sure not to focus on is on the number of times they’ve failed practicing this stunt even when no one was watching. Be like these men and women. Focus on your balance and move forward. All other things are irrelevant until you make it to the other side.
“I walk that line. I’ll try to keep my senses- make it to the other side. I know the consequences, and I feel like I’m walking a tightrope...” - The Script. 2. Being Unforgiven Many things are holding us back in life. Both inner and outer factors. For this particular fear, this lies in our innermost selves. Everyone has done something in his or her past that they felt they should have apologized for but didn’t for fear of being unforgiven or rejected by the person on the other end. I want to make this nice and short because the solution here is straightforward. Just say what you need to say. Words and thoughts that are kept hostage in your heart will hinder your growth significantly. Be open with others and more importantly yourself and watch how much you accomplish. Do your best not to overthink anything. Once you have released all of that extra weight, you will go far, but the last and most important thing to do in this process is to be sure to forgive yourself. We all fall. We all make mistakes. Not all of us get up and continue walking. 3. Success As funny as this sounds people are afraid of success. People become afraid of MAKING A LOT OF MONEY!!!!! We get afraid to push ourselves in our business because we think about all the changes that will happen both on and at the end of the journey. By setting big goals for you and your business you are accepting to make major changes in ourselves and our immediate environment. Some of us even self-sabotage! We tell ourselves that money doesn’t buy happiness and that money is the root of all evil. I’m sorry to say, but these highly romanticized anecdotes will ultimately end your journey in the business world. These anecdotes keep us content and by keeping these sayings close to us, we will our power of our future away to the anecdotes. Remember that any forward progress is good progress. If we stayed the same as we were, we would never grow. The change will happen with or without you. It is best to go through the process at your speed!

OPPORTUNITY LIVES HERE Having
worked with thousands of performers, presenters, speakers, and leaders, over the last 26 years, fear comes with the territory. Whether it’s the fear of performing, speaking, or trying something new, or even my own fear of working with someone who I perceive to be at a higher level than I am, fear is one of the constants that inspires. That’s right. I’ve observed that fear is actually a highly effective motivational tool when you are able to redefine and embrace a new understanding of what it actually is and is not. In my book, Being UNapologetic, I share a story about renowned yogi Baron Baptiste that illustrates what fear is not. During his training experiences, he’d invite people to the microphone to share. Here’s an excerpt: ...She stepped up to the mic and immediately started blurting out, “Oh, my gosh, I’m so nervous.... I never do this.... I can’t believe it.... I’m feeling so scared! I don’t know if I can speak!” She was speaking fast and furiously, but Baptiste gently interrupted her with a boyish smile and said, “Hang on...you feel scared? Tell me more. Can you describe exactly what you’re feeling?” Woman: My heart is racing. I’m sweating, and I feel it all up here. [Motions toward her chest.] Baron: Where exactly in your chest, and what exactly are you feeling? Woman: It’s all here [motions toward her chest] and it’s tight…. Baron: Is it constricting? Is it in one specific area? Woman: I feel it’s like a ball near my heart. Baron: Okay, is it at the surface? One-inch deep? Woman: Um…it’s just under the surface.

Baron: How big is it? Size of a grapefruit? A tennis ball? Ping pong ball? Woman: It’s the size of a grapefruit...no...an orange…hmm, no…a lemon…. wait…actually, I don’t feel anything—I’m fine! Fear, in this case, was a misinterpretation. What if, instead of looking at fear as the thing that can potentially get in the way, you looked at fear as the opportunity to expand, transform, and achieve your goals? Is it possible that fear presents the opportunity to explore and gain a deeper understanding of who you are and the current boundaries of your comfort zone? I always tell my clients, “I’d be more concerned if you had no fear. That would indicate that the stakes aren’t high enough.” When asked the question, “when does the terror of performing go away?” Grammy winning composer Eric Whitacre says, “[it] never goes away, you just get very, very comfortable being terrified in front of people.” Channel the sensation you label as fear. Welcome it as the opportunity, the knock from the universe, that you are being invited to explore your growing edge of possibility. What lives on the edge of possibility? Success. Celebrate fear as one of your most powerful motivators for success and an opportunity to achieve your highest potential. Say YES to the opportunity fear provides. Success is waiting for you. by Davide Di Giorgio DavideSpeaks.com

SUCCESS MASTERY MEMBER
THE FEAR OF Dominic Cruz
CruzinSocialMedia.com My name is Dominic Cruz and I am a Social Media Marketer, ex-professional hip-hop dancer, & a college graduate from SDSU. I was born in New Orleans, but raised in Boston, MA. I have a strong passion for serving others and their business. I was introduced to social media marketing back in 2013 and what was amazing about the experience in the beginning was I made 20 sales in one week with 1 Facebook advertisement. That experience is what led me to serving tons of business owners.
The
day was October 25, 2017, I just got done with a client meeting with my real estate client. I was driving to my mother’s new place in Rancho Penasquitos, San Diego, and my phone rang. It was a call from my boss. I picked up with the speakers on through my car. She wanted to let me know that I had done a phenomenal job with her company and all of the hard work has helped her fulfill her company’s needs. I was happy to hear about it and the fact that she was doing slightly better from her surgery. But, I knew something wasn’t right because the company had just lost over $10,000 a month of revenue due to an incompetent employee we had to fire. My boss had to let me go because she didn’t have enough funds to keep me. I was hurt, and I hated the fact that I had gotten let go again. I was fed up, and though I was fed up, I was fearful of making a move that would shift everything in my life. Five days passed and though I was looking for a job, I said, “F*%^ it, I’m doing my own thing. At least no one can fire me except me.” I was

STARTING FULL TIME so scared to do full-time entrepreneurship, but I knew it was the only that would make me happy and really allow me to live the free life. My thought process was, “What if my family didn’t love me anymore?” “What if I fail?” “What if my haters were proven right?” Luckily because I got let go, my former employer gave me two clients to work with. All I had to do was have them sign a contract under the name, CruzIN Social Media. I was excited, but then I learned one of them didn’t want to go with me and the fear of going full time went sky high. They had just got broken up with, so going with me made them feel like they couldn’t trust. However, at least I started with one client, and it was my ideal client.
SOCIAL MEDIA IS THE ULTIMATE EQUALIZER. IT GIVES A VOICE & A PLATFORM TO SPREAD THEIR MESSAGE.
It sucked sometimes knowing I didn’t have consistent cash-flow coming in, but I’m so thankful I went through that experience because when you have a vision bigger than yourself, and you really believe in it, nothing else matters. Fear gave me the motivation to believe in myself. I’m thankful of the fears I had and the experiences I went through because they led me to believe I can do full-time entrepreneurship and I’m doing it successfully.

TUNISIA J. L. PATEL
life coaching abilities help her reach each person she mentors. She intends for the programs to have an intimate feel, so each student receives exactly what they need to succeed. Tunisia’s most significant challenge in entrepreneurship has been the aspect of personal development and spiritual growth. As an entrepreneur, we all know now how grueling it can be, but most of us didn’t realize that when we started out. Tunisia hopes to help entrepreneurs work through their personal issues, so the call of entrepreneurship doesn’t get too overwhelming. Each struggle that we come to as entrepreneurs is a moment we can give up or grow up, and Tunisia chose to grow up. Even facing life’s challenges in her marriage, loss of cars, loss of homes, and even the threat of homelessness, Tunisia decided to grow, trust God and continue to build his desires for her; her dreams.
This
month our featured entrepreneur is Tunisia J. L. Patel! This fantastic woman has had the blood of an entrepreneur running through her veins since she was three years old! When herself, her mother and aunt would go to the Chicago swap meet, and as soon as her mother would walk away, Tunisia would be up at the table trying to sell their products. Although Tunisia had the entrepreneurial bug from a young age, it was not the first road she chose. Tunisia entered the corporate world but was left with this feeling like there was more in the world that she should be doing. Then in 2013, she was released from her job of 7 years. That year she started serving in her churches’ administrative office full-time. While serving, she realized that she had the skill and potential to start her own business. Now Tunisia is a full-time entrepreneur! Tunisia is co-owner and managing director of GracePro Services LLC, a Digital Marketing and Executive Administration agency. However, Tunisia is also following her passion for empowering others to find their purpose in life through her enterprise Legacy Life Global!
One of the largest problems she sees in the entrepreneur community today is that when you start as an entrepreneur, you don’t always get the support from those around you. Going through the stress of building a business is difficult, even with a solid support system. This is one of the reasons Tunisia desires to help aspiring and new entrepreneurs to build up their personal development and empower them with the tools and resources needed to thrive. Now through the first few rounds of growing pains, she is honored to say that she is a Bestselling Author presented by Hollywood Actress and Comedian Kim Coles in her new book, “Open Your G.I.F.T.S.” Vol. 2! This is something that she is thankful for because she was offered this opportunity coming out of dark times and wasn’t sure if she was ready. However, believing this was a ‘Godportunity,’ she stepped out on faith anyway and considers this one of the highlights of her entrepreneurial journey so far.

WHAT IS YES? YES stands for Young Entrepreneur Society. We are a California Nonprofit 501(c)(3) that serves high schools on a weekly basis. Every week our team of volunteers hosts school clubs during their lunch breaks to bring them FREE lunch & activities, speakers, and videos around the spirit of entrepreneurship.
WHY YES? Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in teens between 13 and 18. Depression and anxiety are the number 1 and 2 mental illnesses suffered among students in high school. 1 out of 6 teens have seriously considered suicide. 1 out of 12 have attempted suicide. 78% of students have started drinking alcohol. 42.5% of students have used drugs. Of that, 25% have used hard drugs such as cocaine, LSD, and Ecstasy. 50% of students have been bullied online. Every 26 seconds a student drops out of high school. We believe this is due to lack of purpose and lack of vision. Our team comes in every week to bring the spirit of entrepreneurship to give hope and vision for their future! We focus on goal setting, personal development, budgeting, serving, team building, etc.
GET INVOLVED! We are looking entrepreneurs, business professionals and companies who will become financial parters with YES on a monthly basis to impact the students of San Diego! By being a financial partner, we invite you to speak to our students, have your logo placed in our monthly magazine articles (10,000 print distribution monthly) and invite you to our yearly gala & networking mixer.
