Letter from the editors Hello everyone, Welcome to the Session 3 edition of the ILSC Brisbane Community Calendar. Before we start, a big “Thank you” to all of the students, teachers and staff who participated in our Valentine’s Day “Coffee and Cake” Day. A huge thank you especially to Natasha and her epic Café Work Skills team for all the hard work (and exceptional coffee). The afternoon was a great success with over $340.00 being made for our “Learn to Earn” teacher in India – Payal. In this edition of the calendar you will find our regular Activities and Career’s Centre calendars
full to the brim with activities and events that will keep you busy and interacting in English both in and out of the school. Please see pages 5, 6 and 7 for more! This session we profile one of our most successful ex- students Asuka. Asuka started with ILSC at a B2 level (in fact she was only one question away from being B1) and now she is set to graduate from TAFE Queensland with a Diploma in Interior Design. See Asuka’s inspirational story on page 8! We also profile departing student Emily on page 9. Emily has been with ILSC Brisbane for only a couple of months but in this time has managed to fit many adventures into her life. Emily’s “can do” attitude is a great example
for all students to follow in order to enrich their lives and become more well-rounded individuals. We are also profiling one of our most energetic teachersSamantha. Samantha has been with ILSC for 8 months as a day teacher but will soon be transferring to night classes. See page 10 for more about Samantha! We hope you enjoy the calendar and please feel free to get in touch with us with ideas, comments and suggestions at either Livia. Tramontina@ilsc.com.au or Leon.BellPD@ilsc.com.au. All the best with your studies on Session 3! Livia & Leon
