SAFETY John Martinez Branch President Denver ,GMF/CFS AS YOU ALL KNOW BY NOW THE POSTAL SERVICE HAS IMPLEMENTED A “COVID-19 FACILITY INSPECTIONS”, AND THESE ARE TO BE DONE DAILY ON EACH TOUR.THIS HAS BEEN HANDED DOWN FROM HUMAN RESOURCES /WESTERN AREA AND BELIEVE ME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN THE POSTAL SERVICE IS TAKING A POSITIVE/PROACTIVE APPROACH TO THE SAFETY AND HEALTH OF ITS EMPLOYEES,BY IMPLEMENTING THIS PROCEDURE. I KNOW SOME OF YOU FEEL THE UNION HAS MADE AN AGREEMENT TO MAKE THE MAILHANDLERS WEAR A MASK, THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE WE WERE ASKED TO JOIN IN THE WALK THROUGH AND WITNESS THE PROCESS IN WHICH THERE IS CRITERIA THAT THEY ARE TRY ING TO FOLLOW WHICH CONSISTS OF: 1) THE USE OF FACIAL COVERINGS AND MASKS, 2) ARE THE EMPOYEES PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING, 3) THE AVAILABILTY OF HAND SANITIZER,
4) BARRIERS, FLOOR MARKINGS, AND SIGNAGE ARE IN PLACE AND IN GOOD ORDER, JUST TO NAME A FEW OF THE ITEMS ON THE CHECKLIST, TO IDENTIFY DEFICIANCIES AND IMMEDIATELY GET THEM CORRECTED!
