S

outhdown hunt East branch of the Pony club held their first event of the season at ardingly Showground. run over two days, the event was attended by 13 branches of the Pony club. a very cold and icy Saturday saw fierce competition for the mini mini and mini team titles, as well as individual scurries and a top score. Sunday was time for the Small Novice, Novice and Intermediate teams, as well as individual scurries, Dengie and the ever popular Puissance class, which was shared by four riders, who all cleared the wall at 4’7. Despite the bitterly cold conditions, the weekend was a great success and horsemanship was displayed to a high standard. It was also a fitting time to present the retiring SDhE chief Instructor, Sarah muggeridge, with a painting in recognition of her nine years in the role and especially as both the Novice and Intermediate teams had won their classes that day. congratulations go to all that took part over the two days and many thanks to our sponsors and especially our team of helpers without whom we could not stage our events.
