hloe mariani, this month’s cover star, partnered the Primitive Rising sired 13-year-old, Dumbleton, to her first win of the season in the ONu18 section L. First in the dressage arena at 8am they led from the very start with an impressive score of 23.5 adding just 0.4 across country. They led second placed Katie Berriman Davies and Zalinero by over seven marks. Talking of her win, Chloe said: “It was a day, when everything just came together, he is such a brave and brilliant horse.” The combination train with Rebecca Gibbs and Sally andrews, and have found the dressage to be their achilles heel. Whilst they have had fair marks and a mixture of good placings, Chloe has always known, she could squeeze a few more marks out of Dumble, as he is fondly known. Competing at a Pony Club competition during the Easter holidays, Chloe experienced the relaxation she has been focusing hard to achieve. She was able to replicate this during her test at South of England and is certain that while it has taken a while, Dumbleton understands what she is asking for now.
