Support for seniors online
Padua College, Kedron Established in 1956, Padua College continues to hold its Franciscan heritage very close to its heart. The College offers a quality, holistic education, which includes an engaging religious formation and pastoral care program, an inclusive and comprehensive curriculum, many co-curricular opportunities and a developmental outdoor education program.
Padua is a community of affirmation and acceptance, where students are encouraged to strive to their personal level of excellence to become young men who make a difference in their world. Our staff are highly skilled, connected to the Community, and dedicated to the needs of students and their families. They have a deep commitment to offer an education that goes beyond the classroom and shapes our boys into good men. In this journey, we understand the important partnership we share with parents in the education of their sons.
Brisbane Seniors Online is a not-for-profit group that provides in-home tuition on a one-on-one basis for seniors and over 50s in the Greater Brisbane area, including Nundah and adjoining suburbs. If you would like to become computer-savvy and confident in using modern technology, Brisbane Seniors Online can assist. Home tuition is provided using volunteer mentors (tutors) who teach learners on their own device. Training on personal computers, laptops, Apple devices, tablets and smart phones is available. Brisbane Seniors Online also has digital photography, Linux and Apple Special Interest Groups that meet regularly. Volunteer mentors can attend Mentor Support groups and get assistance and support with any technological issues they have.
If you would like to surf the internet safely, undertake research, book travel and holidays, pay bills and do internet banking, keep in touch with family and friends across the world and learn how to recognise and avoid scams, please contact us. Brisbane Seniors Online is able to offer this service for an affordable fee of $20 to join and $45 a year, which gives learners around 12 one-hour home lessons. After lessons have been completed, learners get ongoing support for the balance of their membership year. If you would like more information on this service when it resumes, contact Brisbane Seniors Online on 3393 2225 or visit www.bsol.asn.au.
Please feel free to contact the College for further information or join us for a College Tour in 2020 so that you too may experience first-hand the great things about our Community.
Peace and all good, Peter Elmore Rector
