In 2010, Shakira was not aware that the title of her album ‘Sale el sol’ would act as a premonition of where she today finds herself. She met Gerard Piqué, a Barça football player, and they went on to have a son, Milan, who is the star in her life. Four years later, the artist from Baranquilla puts a soundtrack to her life with ‘Shakira’, her very special latest album whose worldwide launch took place in Barcelona.

Из 15 треков, в которых смешиваются поп, рок, фолк, регги и кантри, есть три песни на испанском языке и одна на каталонском, знаменитая “Boig per tu”. Но без сомнения, самые нежные слова были написаны к песне под названием “23”, которое относится к возрасту Пике на момент, когда пара познакомилась. И конечно, “The One Thing”, посвященная их сыну, в которой можно услышать голос их малыша.
Of the 15 singles, which are a mix of pop, rock, folk, reggae and country, there are three songs in Spanish and one in Catalan, the famous ‘Boig per tu’ by Sau; but without a doubt, the most tender lyrics refer to the title of the song ‘23’, which refers to Pique’s age when the first couple met, and ‘The One Thing’, a song dedicated to her son where his tears and his first words can be heard on the track.
“Когда я записывала эту песню Милан был в студии со мной. Я одела ему наушники. Он терпеливо слушал песню и вконце произнёс “ма”, так оно в записи и осталось”, рассказывает певица трогательно.
“When I was recording Milan was in the studio with me. I placed the headphones on him. He patiently listened to the song and during the last part of the song he said ‘ma’ and that was kept there”, the singer confessed almost touched.
На обеде в честь презентации альбома, Шак , как её называют её близкие, сказала, что “этот альбом очень близок к сердцу и отражает этапы в моей жизни. Он эклектичный, искренний и очень честный. В нём есть все мои сильные и слабые стороны”. И она воспользовалась возможностью, чтобы с любовью поблагодарить своих свёкров: “Монтсе и Жоан самые лучшие родители в мире. Я не смогла бы сделать этот альбом без них. Спасибо за заботу о Милане, когда мама и папа работают”. Не только их семья, но и их близкие друзья, игрок Карлес Пуйоль и его девушка, модель Ванесса Лоренцо, не за что бы не пропустили это событие.
At the dinner party after the presentation, Shak, as she is affectionately called by her loved ones, said that “this album is very close to my heart and reflects a stage in my life. It is eclectic, sincere and very honest. It has all my strengths and weaknesses.” And she took the opportunity to fondly remember her in-laws, “Montse and Joan are the best in-laws in the world. I could not have done this album without them. Thanks for taking care of Milan when his mom and dad were working”. Neither his family, nor his close friends, such as the football player Carles Puyol and his partner, the model Vanessa Lorenzo, wanted to miss this event.

Важным для певицы стало сотрудничество с Carlinhos Brown, совместная с ними песня “Ла -ла-ла” будет исполнена на различных концертах и уже прозвучала в Бразилии на Чемпионате мира. Возможно она станет новым гимном, как на предыдущем чемпионате в Южной Африке стала “Waka waka”.
She has another important collaboration with Carlinhos Brown, whose song ‘La la la’ will be performed at different concerts, which have already been agreed upon, in Brazil for the World Cup. Maybe it will become the new theme tune as happened at the previous World Cup in South Africa with the song ‘Waka waka’.

Shakira’s residence is in Nassau (Bahamas), one of the biggest tax havens in the world. She is the owner of a fortune estimated at some 150 million euros. Aware of the poverty in her beloved Colombia, when she was 18 years old she created the ‘Pies Descalzos Foundation’ to help children in poverty. With this organization she has helped countries such as Haiti and South Africa.
