This book starts with the never-neverland in Peter Pan. . Utopia does not exist, everyone must be grown up. Even though we are growing up, we should never stop being a kid. Then one day, you’ll find that shadow has other meanings, and happiness is so easy. At last, in this crowded city, you can find Ever-Neverland, for the lost boys, for you & me. . Ever-NeverLand is the dreamland in our reality.

< Dark Shimmer > “Shimmer”,shine with weak or fitful light. In this image, there’s a vivid yellow flower in the desert. The Desert means abandoned place, the poor situation, and the flower means alive. Also, a flower in the desert can’t help any poor conditions. It can’t make into the perfume, or the flower tea, and even can’t smell it. It’s useless, doing nothing but meaningful to the desert. Dark shimmer means abandoned but alive. I’m strongly attracted by the feeling of fantasy & the extreme contrast in this photo. -

He ar t Village/Beitou Milita ry Vi lla g e . The heart village is built in 1963. Famous for its hot spring. There is a unique public bathroom, where people taking their toiletries and showering.Thereâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s no one lives in the village now,all the resident moves out in ten recent years. When I first been there,I saw the scene as right.The tree collapsed,and the place was overgrown with grass and weeds.The space is dark,musty,and getting rusty.But when I saw the light shined through the hole,I suddendly be touched by the scene.And I believe although everything becomes old and abandoned,thereâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s still something alive here......

Notation. The old and abandoned buildings in the heart village represent the reality. Through changing or adding some elements in the architecture. The shadow will reflect the old-time activities to recall the memories. But each magical event will only happen in the specific time. For example, the residents took a hot spring bath after work/school, so the breathing-bathhouse will awake from 4-6 pm by adding some new elements on the roof. The whole story include four events: Breathing-Bathhouse, Iridescent-Path, Enframed-Television, and the Game-Yard. Each event has their own character, and special way to light upâ&#x20AC;Śâ&#x20AC;Ś

The event happens from 4-6 pm each day.The water texture glasses add on the â&#x20AC;&#x153;existing holeâ&#x20AC;? on the roof,make the shadow sparkling.

NO.But it looks like there’s still hot spring. I remember the women is on the left. As the main place of the heart village,the bathhouse is where the emotional memory of multiplication been located.Therefore,there won’t be rebuilt or removed.Just adding the water-texture glasses on the “existing hole” on the roof.And exchanged the front view concrete wall with the frosted glass (with the texture of blue bubble).In this way,when the sun hits the roof,and reflects in the interior space.The shadow will magically make the atmosphere look like the bathhouse is still working (breathing).Althrough the bathhouse can’t work today,the little change of the material can really make it alive.

The iridescent path is the main alley of the heart village.Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s the connection between the bathhouse and the plaza.Every resident who after bathing and want to watch the television will come through this path.And itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s also the main road that the children go to school and the adult go for work (go outside) will passby.It is also the first sight after taking the hot-spring bath.The hot-spring heal our physical and mental.Other military village is for soilder who kills others,but the heart village is for healing others.As a result,I want to create a path is iridescent,radiate rainbow light.

2 Thereâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re two series of event happen in the iridescent path.The first one happens from7-9am.,when the children go to school and the adult go for work. The other is from 2-6pm.,when people after bathing.

By adding some colored-glass on the roof,and exchange some of the concrete with the iron window(the traditional element in the village) .When the sun hit the roof,the shadow reflects in the interior space and the outdoor alley,itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;ll become a rainbow path.The resident felt healed after bathing,and saw this at first sight.Another event happens in the morning,I knocked down special shape of the brick wall to let the shadow be like the crosswalk.Responsing the busy time from7-9am.

The yard is also an important space in the traditional village,several houses will form a courtyard.The yard will become the small share-space for the residents.Children will play games and have fun ,the adult will take the quilt out to sunbathe. Many interesting events happened in this place everyday.Therefore,I rotated the existing wall of these two concrete wall, and knocked down special shape from it,let the shadow reflect on the ground, become the old game -jumping house.Also,the time is happened in the afternoon,after school.

The event happens from 2-4 pm.each day.The wall rotate,and the shadow become”the jumping house”, the yard magically become the children’s playground!

Shimmer in the dark
We always try hard to give meaning to architecture. In this project just having fun in light & shadow. To talk about old-time memories, even most of the activities are created by imagination. The feeling of fantasy, just like Peter Pan playing with his shadow.

< MircoCastle > The photo is talking about the homeless. I was surprised (a great shock) by them when I first been to Los Angeles. The homeless put all their property on the shopping cart. And move anywhere they could rest. When I first look at the poor situation, I felt pity for them.And I was thinking: how could it be? What can we do to help them? And is it possible that architecture can make a better life for them? But, on second thought, I was wondering is that a “home” is what they really want? Perhaps some of them have no choice, and others they are chasing “freedom”. Because lots of them doesn’t stay at shelters and hasn’t signed up for any public assistance. Mostly comfortable where he/she is. They don’t need to worry much in daily life. Don’t need to concern about the work, the household spending, or even the complex relationship in the modern society. Where they been and how they lived make them feel totally free.

In my opinion,the carefree homeless are much happier than we imagine.Although thereâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;re not much things in the shopping cart,even most of the things to us are useless.But every tiny little thing is like a treasure to the homeless.Therefore,Iâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;m thinking,even if the homeless are poor,and life is not so well, but maybe the are happy.Then, how about us? The modern life people, our life is full of things. But when we have good food,brand clothing,luxurious car ,and gorgeous house. Are we truly happy? We always assume owning more things can make our life better and much happier. On the contrary,the more we have, the less satisfying we feel. In fact, when we have it, we always want to own more of them. So,what is happiness? - Poor but Happy - Outside apperence and Inside the heart - what people may see is Unhappiness (Material), but insides itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Happiness (Spiritual)

Lost Boy / Ruth B. There was a time when I was alone. No where to go and no place to call home. My only friend was the man in the moon. And even sometimes he would go away,too. Then one night, as I closed my eyes. I saw a shadow flying high. He came to me with the sweetest smile. Told me he wanted to talk for a while. He said Peter Pan that's what they call me. I promise that you'll never be lonely. And ever since that day. I am a Lost Boy from Neverland. Usually hanging out with Peter Pan. And when we're bored we play in the Woods. Always on the run from Captain Hook. Run run Lost Boy, they say to me. Away from all of reality. Neverland is home to lost boys like me. And lost boys like me are free. He sprinkled me in pixie dust and told me to believe. Believe in him and believe in me. Together we will fly away in a cloud of green. To your beautiful destiny.
