Rolls-Royce ya ha confirmado que solo va a electrificar sus productos para fines del 2030, por lo que su icónico motor V12 estará disponible hasta entonces.

“Para finales del 2030, no habrá más V12, la Serie 2 o sea las actualizaciones del Ghost, Phantom y el Cullinan seguirán siendo V12…” declaró el CEO de Rolls-Royce, Torsten MullerOtvos, a la prensa especializada.

No habrá vehículos de tren híbridos o enchufables como un puente hacia la electrificación completa a través de la alineación. Rolls-Royce comenzará a producir su primer EV, The Spectre Coupe, recién a finales de este año.

Rolls-Royce no ha confirmado cuándo llegarán sus próximos vehículos eléctricos, ni ha dicho cuánto tiempo durarán los ciclos de vida de su producto, aunque Muller-Otvos señaló que el primer Phantom duró 14 años.

El ejecutivo ha dicho que espera más vehículos de forma extremadamente limitada, señalando que esto se haría cada dos años con un máximo de hacer tres o cuatro, no 15-20, ya que esto no sería posible.
