Considerado el torneo de tenis más antiguo del mundo, es sin duda también el más prestigioso, ya que se lleva a cabo en el All England Club en Wimbledon, Londres, desde 1877 y, cuando el Abierto de Australia cambió a hardcourt en 1988, Wimbledon se convirtió en el único torneo de su tipo que se juega sobre césped natural. Este año Novak Djokovic y Angelique Kerber son los campeones defensores en las competencias individuales y para esta edición se espera la presencia por tercer año consecutivo del número dos del mundo: Rafael Nadal. El torneo da inicio el lunes 1 de julio de 2019 y termina el domingo 14 de julio. Será la primera edición del torneo que contará con un desempate a 12 en el conjunto final.
