AGENDA CULTURAL CASA MANÉ Con la llegada de septiembre, El Centro de Arte Casa Mané estrena nueva agenda artística y cultural. El calendario comienza con las exposiciones de tres artistas residentes en la isla: Greta Chicheri, Nuria del Pino y Verónica Silva, que se podrán visitar a partir del 7 de septiembre en horario habitual del Centro, de lunes a viernes de 10:00 a 17:00 y los sábados de 10:00 a 14:00, hasta el 10 de enero.

LO QUE VEREMOS A PARTIR DE SEPTIEMBRE:

NURIA DEL PINO Aires de Isla

Se trata de dos series: una más abstracta, la otra más figurativa. Las obras de «Aires de Isla» recrean mundos imaginarios que aluden a la isla de Fuerteventura, utilizando algunos elementos que forman parte de su paisaje. Gracias a la tinta sobre papel, la artista, madrileña de nacimiento y residente en Fuerteventura desde la infancia, ha conseguido plasmar la sutilidad y ligereza buscadas para crear paisajes casi oníricos. Nuria se encuentra centrada ahora en la técnica de la tinta que le permite expresar de una manera más precisa la ensoñación de sus paisajes y utilizar nuevos colores, como violetas y rosas, que nunca antes había manejado, aportando más viveza e intensidad a sus obras.

GRETA CHICHERI

Imágenes de la primavera El término tiene relación con la propia temática animal y botánica de la obra, y con las manifestaciones visuales japonesas denominadas shunga, literalmente «imágenes de primavera», donde «primavera» es un eufemismo para referirse a las relaciones sexuales. El reconocimiento del placer y de las necesidades sexuales de la mujer fue y ha sido un tabú e incluso una blasfemia a lo largo de la historia del arte. Estos dibujos suponen un cambio del punto de vista de lo erótico, normalmente asociado a una visión masculina. Esta gallega, afincada en la isla desde hace más de una década, propone para su exhibición una serie de bocetos y un gran friso de 1,5 por 8 metros dibujado a lápiz sobre papel. .4

VERÓNICA SILVA

La aguja subversiva Esta es la primera exposición del «Colectivo de Tejedoras Subversivas en Fuerteventura». El espacio artístico de su propuesta pretende que sus participantes se piensen a nivel grupal, en voz de mujer, para favorecer así el empoderamiento colectivo. Sus herramientas artísticas son: telas, agujas, lanas e hilos. En el colectivo hay mujeres de distintas formaciones: maestras, artistas, estudiantes, diseñadoras, periodistas; unidas todas por la pasión de la puntada subversiva. Una exhibición que presenta el bordado como forma de arte.

EL CENTRO DE ARTE - CASA MANÉ CELEBRARÁ LA INAUGURACIÓN DE ESTAS EXPOSICIONES EL 14 DE SEPTIEMBRE A LAS 17:00, EN UN ACTO ABIERTO A TODO EL QUE DESEE ASISTIR. En noviembre darán comienzo dos nuevas exposiciones: El artista lanzaroteño, José Melián, nos acerca a un estilo muy personal con pinturas oníricas recordadas del subconsciente de su niñez, observando el paisaje volcánico y lávico de la isla. La mayoría de sus obras están realizadas con técnicas mixtas, sobresaltando los relieves y texturas. Los visitantes podrán disfrutar desde el 23 de noviembre hasta mediados de enero. Y por otro lado, el Centro de Arte Casa Mané, en su apuesta por el talento y por proporcionar un escaparte a artistas emergentes de distinta índole, acoge la exposición de las alumnas de Greta Chicheri: Carole Blenkinsop, Daniela González Pérez, Marina López-Leitón Pedreira, Bili Puig de la Bellacasa, Dominga Rodríguez Rodríguez, Petra Lola Sauer, Fatima Senouci Tani y Francesca Servidio. La muestra reúne la visión individual, única y personal de cada una sobre la «Virginidad», en todos los niveles del término: divinidad, castidad, lugares inexplorados… Todo un ejercicio de búsqueda interna de pensamientos y emociones, asimismo vírgenes, para la primera vez de estas aspirantes a artistas.

It’s about two series: one of them more abstract and, the other one, more figurative. The works in «Aires de Isla» recreate imaginary worlds alluding to the island of Fuerteventura, using some elements that make up its landscape. Thanks to the ink on paper, the artist, born in Madrid and living in Fuerteventura from a very early age, has managed to portray the subtlety and lightness looked for to create almost dream landscapes. Nuria is now focused on the technique of ink which allows her to express more precisely the dream state of her landscape and to use new colours like violets and pinks that she’d never used before, contributing vividness and intensity to her works.

VERÓNICA SILVA La aguja subversiva This is the first exhibition by the «Colectivo de Tejedoras Subversivas en Fuerteventura». The artistic space of her proposals intends to make their participants consider themselves as a group, with a woman’s voice, so as to empower this collective. Her artistic tools are: fabrics, needles, wool and thread. In this collective there are women of varied professions:

THE ART CENTRE- CASA MANÉ WILL CELEBRATE THE INAUGURATION OF THESE EXHIBITIONS ON SEPTEMBER 14TH AT 17H00, IN AN OPEN ACT THAT CAN BE ATTENDED BY ANYONE WHO WANTS TO. In November, two new exhibitions will be displayed: The artist from Lanzarote, José Meilán, approaches us to a very personal style with dream-like paintings taken out of his childhood unconsciousness, watching the volcanic and lava landscape of the island. La joven tiene ahora 16 años, aunque su noviazgo con el kitesurf comenzó cinco años atrás. Esta majorera, de Puerto del Rosario, se mudó un día junto a su familia a La Pared. En el colegio tuvo como compañero un chico italiano. A través de él y su familia, Alexandra sintió la llamada del kitesurf. «Su madre Roberta era monitora y un día me propusieron hacer kite», recuerda. En 2011. Roberta y su esposo, Roberto Caruso, decidieron, junto a sus hijos, cambiar su lugar de residencia en Turín por Costa Calma. El mar majorero pronto se convirtió en su nuevo aliado. La pareja decidió empezar, entonces, a llamar puerta a puerta pidiendo ayuda para formar a los jóvenes majoreros en alguna disciplina deportiva náutica. De aquel sueño surgió Hijos del mar, una asociación que enseña a los jóvenes los deportes del mar y también los educan en valores. El logotipo del grupo era una ola donde está representado el windsurf, el surf y el kite, y donde todos surfeaban la misma ola. Alexandra fue una de aquellas «hijas del mar». Rememora lo duro que fueron los inicios. Las duras condiciones de Sotavento no ayudaban a un grupo de niños que intentaba mantenerse encima de la tabla. «Éramos muchos niños y nos íbamos turnando», recuerda. A veces se acercaban a la playa de la Barca para ver desde la arena a sus ídolos. Alexandra tiene presente su visita al campeonato. Ese año fue la última vez que se hizo la modalidad de estilo libre de kitesurf en el Campeonato majorero hasta que este 2019 la gente de René Egli by Meliá ha vuelto .6

Alexandra Torres soñó, más de una vez, con ser una de aquellas jóvenes del kitesurf que competía en Sotavento ante los objetivos de fotógrafos y cámaras de medio mundo durante el Campeonato Mundial de Windsurfing y Kitesurfing de Fuerteventura. Este mes de julio pudo hacerlo. Ella y su cometa se colaron en la semifinal de la categoría femenina de estilo libre de kitesurf. Alexandra escribió ese día un nuevo capítulo en su historia personal. Seguro que también en la historia del deporte en Fuerteventura.

a recuperar la prueba. La joven explica cómo ese día soñó desde la orilla con poder hacer alguno de aquellos trucos y «llegar a ese nivel de competición». En 2016 ella y otros jóvenes de Hijos del Mar conocieron a Javier Jiménez, un kitesurfista reconocido en el gremio por sus éxitos. El deportista les habló de un campeonato en Francia y «nosotros como sabíamos hacer un par de cositas nos apuntamos». «Éramos unos diez niños. Comparados con otros chicos no sabíamos hacer nada, pero nos sirvió la experiencia para conocer a bastante gente y familiarizarnos con los campeonatos», comenta.

La joven le cogió gusto a competir y, a partir de ahí, ha seguido haciéndolo. Tras Francia, llegaron la Copa del Mundo de Barcelona Junior y el Campeonato de España Junior. El palmarés de Alexandra recoge un tercer puesto de España en categoría juvenil en 2016, un tercer puesto también en la Copa del Mundo de Francia el año pasado y este 2019 y un segundo puesto en la Liga Española en el ranking general. También un primer puesto en estilo libre en la Liga Española 2019 y un primero en la Copa de España y Canarias de gran salto. Este año se estrenó en el circuito mundial y lo hizo en su isla, Fuerteventura. Llegó con la etiqueta de una majo-

rera en la competición, pero terminó convirtiéndose en la sorpresa de la jornada al colarse en semifinales junto a pesos pesados del kitesurf como Bruna Kajiya, Mikaili Sol, Pippa Van Iersen y Paula Novotna. La hazaña de Torres fue recibida con júbilo por los familiares y el público que seguía la competición desde la grada. Este verano participará en la última etapa de la Liga Española y está intentando ir a la penúltima parada del circuito mundial de la GKA en la zona de Dajla, en Marruecos. En una escala de deberes, Alexandra pone en lo más alto los estudios. Siempre que llega de clase y no tiene exámenes se va una hora u hora y media a la playa y después estudia. Así va compaginando las dos grandes dedicaciones de su vida. De mayor desea ser competidora profesional, pero también quiere estudiar fisioterapia. Estudiará en la Península y cada vez que pueda intentará escaparse a Fuerteventura o buscar una playa cerca. Tarifa sería una opción. «El kite me aporta relax en los estudios. Voy a navegar y al regreso, ya relajada, me dedico a los estudios, más centrada». Este deporte también le ha permitido conocer mundo y culturas que le han ayudado a entender a la gente. En su viaje por las campeonatos y competiciones le acompañan los patrocinios Hijos del Mar, Lavandería El Cardón, Escuela de Matas Day y Airush España y Esencia preparación Física. Otra de las promesas del kitesurf de Fuerteventura, Julia Castro, es desde hace un tiempo su entrenadora.

Photo: Carlos de Saá Alexandra Torres dreamt, more than once, of becoming one of those kitesurf athletes taking part in Sotavento events appearing in thousands of pictures and videos during the windsurfing and kitesurfing world championships in Fuerteventura. Last July she could make it happen. She and her kite got to the semi-final in freestyle female category. That day, Alejandra wrote a new chapter in her personal history. So did she in the sport history of Fuerteventura. The young athlete is 16 now, although her relationship with kitesurf started five years ago. This majorera, from Puerto del Rosario, moved to La Pared with her family one day. At school she had an Italian boy as schoolmate. Through him and his family Alexandra felt the call of kitesurf. «His mother, Roberta, was an instructor and one day they suggested that I should practise kite», she remembers. In 2011, Roberta and her husband, Roberto Caruso, decided, together with their children, to move their home from Turing to Costa Calma. Soon, the sea became their new ally. The couple decided to start asking for help to train young people from Fuerteventura in any water sport discipline. From that dream, Hijos del Mar came up, an association teaching water sports to young people, and they also educate

them in values. The icon of this group was a wave standing for windsurf, surf and kite, and all of them riding the same wave. Alexandra was one of those daughters of the sea. She remembers how hard the start was. The hard conditions of the Sotavento didn’t help a group of children struggling to stand on the board at all!!!! «There were many of us and we were taking turns» she remembers. Sometimes they went near the beach of La Barca to watch their idols from the sand. Alexandra very often thinks about her visit to the championship. That year it was the last time that freestyle kitesurf had an event in this Fuerteventura championship until in the current 2019 the team of René Egli by Meliá has recovered this competition. The young woman tells how that day she dreamt, from the shore, of playing any of those tricks and «getting to that level of competition». In 2016 she and other youngsters of «Hijos del Mar» met Javier Jiménez, a renowned kitersurfer in this trade because of his success. The athlete told them about a championship in France and «as we could play a couple of tricks we joined it». «There were 10 of us. As compared to other children we could do nothing, but it did as an experience to meet quite a lot of people and familiarize with championships», she points out. The young girl tested the pleasure of competing and, from then onwards, she has kept doing it. After France, the Junior World Cup of Barcelona and the Junior championship of Spain followed. The record book of Alexandra shows a third position in Spain in the junior category in 2016; also, a third position in the French World Cup last year and in the current 2019, and a second position in the Spanish league in the general ranking. Also, a first position in free style in the Spanish league 2019 and in the Spain and Canary Islands Jumping Cup. This year she made her debut in the world circuit and she did it in her island, Fuerteventura. She arrived as a «majorera» in the competition, but she ended up as the surprise of the day when she got to the semifinals together with renowned kitesurfers like Bruna Kajiya, Mikaili Sol, Pippa Van lersen and Paula Novotna. The deed by Torres was received with joy by her family and the audience, who were following the competition from the grandstand. This Summer, she’ll take part in the last stage of the Spanish League and she’s trying to go to the next to last stop of the world circuit of GKA in the area of Dajla, in Morocco. Among her duties, Alexandra places education at the top of the list. When she has no exams she goes for an hour or hour and a half to the beach after class, and then she studies. That way she combines the two great dedications of her life. When she grows up she would like to become a professional competitor, but she also wants to study physiotherapy. She’ll study in La Península and she’ll try to get away to Fuerteventura or any beach nearby every time she can manage. «Kite brings me relax in my studies. I go for a ride and when I come back, already relaxed, I devote to my studies and I concentrate much better». This sport has also allowed her to get to know the world, other cultures that has helped her to understand people. In her trips to the championships and competitions she is accompanied by her sponsors, Hijos del Mar, Lavanderia El Cardón, Escuela de Matas Day y Airush España, and Esencia preparación Física. Another promise of Kitesurf in Fuerteventura, Julia Castro, has been her trainer for some time now.

Guadalapa UN VIAJE A LA INSPIRACIÓN DE LA MANO DE LAPA STUDIO

Lapa Studio inició su andadura en El Cotillo como un proyecto concebido para albergar y dar salida al talento local. Se creó con la idea de exponer y crear un escaparate para artistas, diseñadores y artesanos residentes pero también para dar voz a profesionales foráneos. Ya desde su apertura, nos venían avisando de que lo suyo no era solo una tienda, de ahí que lo llamaran Lapa Studio. Su intención iba más por crear un espacio vivo y que acogiera desde un concierto, a una charla o un taller. El objetivo era el de explorar talento local y de fuera y que la gente pudiese formar parte de la conversación. «Nos gusta descubrir estilos de vida y proyectos diferentes, y nos parecían un momento y lugar perfectos para compartir talento y experiencias ajenas con otras personas» Y dicho y hecho. Las chicas de Lapa Studio amplían proyecto con la inauguración en septiembre de sus ta-

Guadalapa, como han denominado a esta idea, es un lugar en el que convertirte en eso que siempre has querido ser, un espacio en el que probar cosas nuevas y aprender lo que llevabas años ansiando aprender. Guadalapa es un viaje a la inspiración, una experiencia para compartir con otras personas inquietas y profesores expertos en sus materias. Cerámica, fotografía, bordado, arte, talleres de reparación de bicis, encuadernación, costura… Todo un abanico de opciones que nos presentan estas cuatro mujeres emprendedoras, para todos aquellos que siempre piensan

«me encantaría saber coser» y aún no se habían puesto ello. Ya no habrá excusa para probar e investigar otros campos de acción. La agenda comienza con el taller de bordado de la mano de Verónica Silva el jueves 12 de septiembre de 16:00h a 21:00h y el curso de cerámica con Carlos Martínez Arrocha el 28 y 29 de septiembre de 10:00h a 14:00h. A TRIP TO INSPIRATION BY LAPA STUDIO

Lapa Studio started their path in El Cotillo as a project aimed to hold and launch the local talent. It was created originally to exhibit and giving resident artists, designers and artisans and opportunity but also to give voice to foreign professionals. From the very beginning they were warning us that their project wasn’t just a shop, hence its name, Lapa Studio. Its aim is rather to create a lively space holding a concert, a speech or a workshop. The target was to explore the local and foreign talent and that people could take part in the conversation. «We like discovering different life styles and projects, and it seemed to us a perfect moment and place to share talent and other people’s experiences» So, said and done. The girls of Lapa Studio extended their project with the inauguration of their workshops and courses in September. Guadalapa, as they have called this initiative, is a place to become what you’ve always wanted to become, a space where trying new things and learning what you’ve been looking forward to learning for years. Guadalapa is a trip to inspiration, a place to share with other restless people and expert teachers in their subjects: ceramics, photography, embroidery, art, bicycle fixing workshops, bookbinding, sewing… a great range of options presented by these four entrepreneur women, for all those people who usually think «I’d love to be able to sew» and they haven’t done it yet. There is no longer an excuse not to investigate other fields of action. The programme starts with the embroidery workshop by Verónica Silva on Thursday, September 12th from 16h00 to 21h00, and the ceramics course by Carlos Martínez Arrocha, on September 28th and 29th from 10h00 to 14h00. ARRECIFE EN VIVO EN SEPTIEMBRE El evento lanzaroteño, elegido este año como Mejor Festival de Mediano Formato de España, inaugurará su séptima edición el próximo 20 de septiembre

Al pop latino en manos de Camilo Lara le pasa lo mismo que a la tortilla en la cocina de Ferrá Adriá: se deconstruye hasta convertirse en algo todavía más fascinante. Lara es productor, músico y fue supervisor musical de la película de animación Coco. Su último trabajo con Instituto Mexicano del Sonido es una declaración de amor a la música que se escucha en las calles de Sudamérica. Es cumbia villera. Folk. Tex-mex. Dub. Salsa. Un precioso bullicio. Él será el primer cabeza de cartel que presente el festival Arrecife en Vivo Estrella Galicia el próximo viernes 20 de septiembre, en el casco histórico de la capital conejera. Le acompañarán en la ruta de conciertos tres bandas más y dos djs. La música empezará a sonar a las 18:00 de la tarde con Cantera Rock, una banda formada por jovencísimos talentos de la Escuela de Música Toñín Corujo, que el año pasado sorprendieron con sus versiones al timple de clásicos como Smoke on the water. El trío barcelonés Side Chick será el siguiente en sonar en pleno centro de Arrecife. Será maravilloso ver cómo tres músicos, de trayectorias muy diferentes (folk-pop, rock y composiciones de autor), se reúnen para tocar un glam rock descarado frente a adolescentes, rockers, festivaleros, melómanos varios, abuelos del barrio y residentes británicos que no se pierden nunca el Arrecife en Vivo. Baste decir que el siguiente grupo, Cápsula, viene de telonear a Pearl Jam en su gira por Latinoamérica. El mismísimo Tony Visconti, productor habitual de David Bowie, produjo su Solar Secrets, un disco de 2013 que la revista Rolling Stone describió como una combinación de los Who, los Cramps y Sonic Youth con vuelta y media de psicodelia. Rematarán la primera jornada del festival los djs Rolling Hackers (un Enrique Santana que ha hecho bailar a los mejores clubs del mundo) y el lagunero La Maldita (un habitual del Aguere Cultural, que mezcla los ritmos más tropicales con rock y drum&bass).

quilamente la Gioconda. Con más de medio siglo de bagaje musical, «la Reina del Ska» es capaz de hacer bailar a un estadio entero con sólo entonar una nota. Los Skatalites han elegido un buen nombre para su gira número 55: «Still rough and tough» (Seguimos duros y rudos). El mundo se ha transformado desde que la banda se formó en 1964 en Kingston (Jamaica). Después de exportar el ska, el rocksteady y el reggae al mundo, la actual formación se nutre de veteranísimos músicos como Doreen o el trombonista Vin Gordon -que tocó junto a Bob Marley durante décadas- y se ha reforzado con un exquisito plantel de músicos provenientes del jazz y el ska. El brillante resultado lo verá el público de Arrecife en Vivo el próximo 27 de septiembre. La primera banda en abrir fuego sonoro será Unplastic, una formación nacida recientemente en Puerto Naos, el barrio portuario de Arrecife, y que aspira a recuperar el viejo poder analógico de las bandas funkis.

The Latin Pop by Camilo Lara is the same as an omelette in the kitchen of Ferran Adrià: it’s deconstructed until becoming something even more fascinating. Lara is a producer and musician, he was a music supervisor in the animated film, Coco. Its last work with the Instituto Mexicano del Sonido is a declaration of love for the music that can be listened to in the streets of SouthAmerica. It’s «cumbia villera», folk, tex-mex, dub, salsa, a wonderful hub-bub. He’ll be the first headliner who will present Arrecife en Vivo Estrella de Galicia Festival on Friday, September 20th, in the old city of the capital of Lanzarote. In his tour, he’ll be accompanied by three more bands and two djs. The music will start at 18h00, with Cantera Rock, a band made up by very young talents of Toñín Corujo School, who alreadiy surprised us last year with their timple versions of classics like Smoke on the water. The Barcelona trio, Side Chick, will be the next one to perform in the very heart of Arrecife. It’ll be

marvellous to witness how three musicians, from very different musical styles (folk-pop, rock and songwriter) join to play a glam rock in front of teenagers, rockers, festival and music lovers, elderly people in the neighbourhood and British residents who never miss Arrecife en Vivo. As for the next band, Cápsula, suffice it to say that they have just been leading Pearl jam in, in their tour on LatinAmerica. The very Tony Visconti, habitual producer of David Bowie, produced his Solar Secrets, a record from 2013 that the Rolling Stone magazine described as a combination of The Who, The Cramps and Sonic Youth, a realm of psychedelia. El cuarteto de «grind-a-go-go» The Fuzillis (Londres) están llamados a enamorar al público del Arrecife en Vivo con un saxo tenor muy mandón, un batería que parece el Dr. Octopus, una guitarra isotónica y un bajo inconmensurable. El festival advierte: «Quítate ropa porque vas a sudar más que en una sesión de brikam yoga». Imposible no bailarlos. Tras el esperadísimo bolo de The Skatalites, por la cabina del festival pasarán dos habituales de los festivales canarios: el selector de vinilos The Piri Expirience y el productor y dj Mr. Paradise. ¿Más? Claro que sí. El 20 de septiembre la Banda de Agaete será la encargada del pasacalles que llevará a los espectadores del festival de calle en calle y de concierto en concierto a lo largo de 1,5 km de recorrido por el centro de la ciudad. El 27 de septiembre lo hará el grupo de percusión Kolpez Blai.

THE PARENTS OF SKA, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE CANARY ISLANDS Seeing Doreen Shaffer sing, the septuagenarian frontwoman of Skatalites, is comparable to watching the Gioconda quietly. With over fifty years of musical history, the queen of ska can make a whole stadium dance by just singing the first note. Los Skatalites have chosen a good name for their 55th tour: «Still rough and tough». The world has changed from the moment when the band was formed in 1964 in Kingston (Jamaica). After exporting ska, rocksteady and reggae to the world, the present band is made up by renowned musicians like Doreen or the trombonist Vin Gordon – who played together with Bob Marley for decades– and has gathered an exquisite array of jazz and ska musicians. The brilliant outcome will be witnessed by the audience in Arrecife en Vivo on next September 27th. The first band to perform will be Unplastic, a band who was born recently in Puerto Naos, the harbour district of Arrecife and aiming to recover the old analogical power of the funk bands. The festival warns: «take off your clothes cause you’ll sweat more than in a bikram yoga session». Impossible not to dance with them. After the most expected gig by skatalites, the booth of the festival will also hold two regulars of the canary islands’ festivals: the vinyl selector, The Piri Experience, and the producer and dj, Mr. Paradise. Anything else?, of course. On September 20th the band from Agaete will organize the parade that will take the audience of the festival from street to street and from concert to concert along 1,5 kms down town. On September 27th it will be the turn of the percussion band Kolpez Blai.

El festival arranca el 13 de septiembre a las 18.00h con un programa en el que destacan, además de las funciones, una gran cantidad de actividades paralelas para todos los públicos. .16

El Gran Pasacalles, emblema del fesitval, se celebra el sábado 14 a las 11.30h. Un despliegue de color y alegría creado en gran medida por los propios vecinos y vecinas de Gran Tarajal que, con esfuerzo y mucha ilusión, han conseguido posicionarlo como uno de los mayores pasacalles de payasos de Europa. Una vez finalizado el gran pasacalles comenzarán las actuaciones y actividades paralelas en los distintos espacios escénicos que no pararán hasta bien entrada la noche. Talleres de risoterapia, globoflexia, iniciación al clown, maquillaje artístico, pompas de jabón, malabares para los más jóvenes y «la gran guerra de tartas» en la que puede participar toda la familia. Entre los más de 10 espacios escénicos propuestos por la organización cabe destacar la carpa de circo que situada en la playa cambia la propia fisonomía de la bahía dándole un aspecto de auténtica feria de circo. Un año más se han habilitado las diferentes zonas temáticas con actividades específicas: la zona solidaria de ONGs, el mercadillo, atracciones de feria, zona de música, de baile, de reciclaje y la zona Hospitrán con

una feria de la risa y actividades solidarias. Y para los más noctámbulos, la «Fiesta Perraka Clown», un divertido espectáculo que fusiona Dj-Clowns y participación del público y que se consolida año tras año. En paralelo, habrá visitas al Hospital Insular de Fuerteventura y a los colegios con las Fichas Didácticas de la Payasa Chanita, una de las acciones más interesantes en aras de potenciar valores entre los nuevos públicos vinculados a la educación. Además se celebrarán dos galas solidarias, el miércoles 11 de septiembre en el Auditorio de Corralejo y el jueves 12 de septiembre en el Auditorio de Puerto del Rosario. El Festival concluirá el domingo con una jornada en la que se mezclarán risas y actuaciones a pie de playa junto con la popular «guerra de tartas» que se realizará en la misma orilla del mar. El Tran Tran, es un ejemplo de participación popular e implicación social, ya que cuenta con un equipo de 80 voluntarios que participan activamente en la organización. An event specialized in the clown genre, where we’ll enjoy circus shows, magic, acrobatics, street theatre, humour, dance or juggling for all audiences. More than 50 free performances and activities with artists and companies coming from all over the world: Uruguay, Chile, Poland, Argentina, Italy, Aragon, Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Andalusia, Asturias, Extremadura and The Canary Islands. The festival starts on September 13th at 18h00 with a programme where, apart from the performances, a great amount of parallel activities for all audiences stand out. The great parade, the festival emblem, will take place on Saturday 14th at 11:30h, a display of colour and joy created, to a great extent, by the neighbours of Gran Tarajal themselves who, with effort and eagerness, have managed to place this event as one of the greatest clown parades in Europe. Once the great parade has finished, performances and parallel activities will take place on the different stages, and they won’t stop until late at night. Workshops of laughter therapy, balloon sculpture, clown initiation, artistic make-up, soap bubbles, juggling for the youngest and «the great cake war» where all the family can take part in. Among the more than 10 different stages proposed by the organization we must highlight the circus tent, located on the beach, which changes the look of the bay completely, giving it the appearance of a true circus fair. One more year the different theme areas have been fitted out with specific activities: The NGOs charity zone, the flea market, fair attractions, music, dance and recycling areas, and the Hospitrán area, with a fair of laugher and charity events. And for night birds, la «Fiesta Perraka Clown», an amusing show fusing Dj-Clowns and the participation of the public,

which is consolidated year after year. At the same time, there’ll be visits to the Hospital of Fuerteventura island and schools with didactic sheets by the clown Chanita, one of the most interesting actions to promote the new public linked to education and the promotion of values. Moreover, two charity gala events will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 11th in the Auditorium of Corralejo and on Thursday September 12th, in the Auditorium of Puerto del Rosario. The Festival will finish on Sunday, with a day where laughter and performances by the sea will intermingle, together with the popular «cakes war», taking place at the very sea shore. Tran Tran is an example of popular participation and social implication, as it has a team of 80 volunteers that are actively involved in the organization. El arte de fotografiar Fuerteventura @fuertevidorra Enmanuel Morales Schmidt llegó al mundo de la fotografía por circunstancias de la vida. Su hermano tuvo que dejar Fuerteventura por trabajo y Enmanuel, para hacerle sentir cerca de su tierra, comenzó a fotografiar el día a día de la isla. Así, foto a foto, fue dándose cuenta de que sus instantáneas gustaban. Se animó a ir publicándolas para que esos amigos que también están fuera de la isla pudieran sentirse cerca y, en tiempo récord, sus redes sociales despegaron. Hablamos de la cuenta en redes sociales de Fuertevidorra, creada hace unos 2 años y gestionada exclusivamente por Enmanuel, todo un éxito desde sus inicios, tanto en facebook como en instagram. Una cuenta dedicada a mostrar la belleza de Fuerteventura y, en ocasiones, de las Islas Canarias. Todo lo que sabe Enmanuel de fotografía lo aprendió de forma autodidacta, sobre todo gracias a tutoriales de YouTube y cacharreando con su propio equipo. Comenzó con la cámara, pero gracias a su pareja, que le regalo su primer drone, se animo con la foto aérea y nos confiesa que a día de hoy es su favorita. «Me saqué el carnet de piloto profesional de drone porque me encanta, me permite sacar puntos de vista muy diferentes, pero también disfruto y disparo mucho con la cámara, solo que hay lugares a los que la cámara no llega y el drone sí.

Vídeo o fotografía... Si tengo que elegir, prefiero la fotografía. Intento capturar imágenes que estén vivas, animadas, para que cada uno puedo imaginar cual sería el siguiente fotograma. Paisaje o retrato... Sin duda paisaje. Estoy enamorado de los paisajes de Fuerteventura que cada día cambian. Intento retratar la isla que amo como yo la veo, expresando en cada imagen mi admiración por ella, seca, árida, salvaje… Fueron precisamente estos paisajes los que me llevaron a ser fotógrafo. Retoque o natural... Yo disparo en Raw, que es el formato en bruto, así que sí que edito las imágenes para intentar llegar a lo que vemos con el ojo acercándome lo más posible a la realidad del paisaje. Equipo que no puede faltarte… No me puede faltar ni el gran angular, ni la cámara, ni el drone con todas las baterías cargadas para estar volando el mayor tiempo posible y capturando todo lo que pueda.

Un lugar que recomiendas para fotografiar... Cofete, al amanecer o al atardecer. Es un rincón mágico, con su bruma, su risco, esa playa inmensa, con o sin nubes… Un lugar que quieras fotografiar... Tengo muchas ganas de viajar a Islandia para capturar esos impresionantes rincones. También me llamaban mucho las Islas Feroes, pero he sabido de su costumbre de la matanza de ballenas y he perdido el interés. El fotógrafo, ¿nace o se hace? Bajo mi modesta opinión, en mi caso, se hace. Un objetivo: vivir exclusivamente de la fotografía. Un sueño… Gestionar una cuenta única para todas las Islas Canarias, pateándolas, capturando todos esos rincones espectaculares y dedicándome así, solo a la fotografía paisajista de Canarias. ¿Qué han significado las redes sociales para ti? Cada me gusta en una de mis fotos, cada comentario, cada vez que alguien comparte, siento una gran motivación para seguir fotografiando y publicando fotos. Enmanuel Morales Schmidt arrived in the world of photography for circumstances of life. His brother had to leave Fuerteventura due to work and Enmanuel, to make him feel near his land, started to take pictures of the island day-to-day. That way, picture after picture, he started to notice that people liked his snapshots. He brought himself to publish them so that those friends who were also living away from the island could feel near it and, in a record time, his social nets got off the ground. We‘ re talking about the social nets of Fuertevidorra, created a couple of years ago, managed exclusively by Emmanuel, a whole success from the very beginning, in Facebook and instagram alike. An account dedicated to showing the beauty of Fuerteventura and, in certain occasions, of the Canary Islands. Everything Enmanuel knows about photography he taught himself, above all thanks to youtube tutorials and fiddling with his own equipment. He started out with his camera, but thanks to his partner, who gave him his first drone, he brought himself to aerial photograph and he admits that nowadays it’s his favourite. «I took the professional drone pilot license. Although I love the drone, because it offers very different viewpoints, I also enjoy the camera a lot. However there are places the camera can’t reach while the drone can». Video or picture? If I have to choose, I prefer the picture. I try to catch living and animated pictures so that every person can imagine what the next photogram would be. Landscape or portrait? No doubt, landscape. I’m in love with Fuerteventura landscape, changing every day. I try to catch the island I love as I see it, expressing in every shot my admiration for her, dry, arid, wild… It was just these landscapes that launched me as a photographer. Edited or natural pictures? I shoot in Raw, that is, raw format, so I edit my pictures to get to what we see with our eyes when we get as close as possible to the reality of the landscape. Equipment you cannot miss… My wide-angle lens, my camera, my drone with all the fully charged batteries to be able to fly for as long as possible and catching as much as I can. A place you recommend for taking pictures? Cofete, at dawn or dusk. It’s a magic nook, with its mist, its cliff, that huge beach, with or without clouds… A place you’d like to photograph? I’d really love to travel to Iceland to photograph those impressive corners. The Faroe Islands also used to attract me, but I’ve known about their tradition of killing whales and I’ve lost the interest. A photographer is born or made? In my modest opinion, in my case, it’s made. A goal... Making a living exclusively on taking pictures. A dream… Managing a single account for the whole of the Canary Islands, tramping all around and catching all those spectacular corners, thus devoting myself just to landscape photography in the Canary Islands. What have the social nets meant to you? Every like in one of my pictures, every comment, every time anyone shares... I feel a great motivations to keep photographing and publishing pictures. WHO AM I? Welcome to September! This month comes full of emotions. Autumn is almost here and by then many people will start planning lots of changes.

In the last months I’ve been receiving plenty of messages from people who felt sad, stuck, subdued, listless, aimless and especially uncertain about what to do with their lives. It happens to me as well and in that moment, I do this exercise, that reminds me who I am.

¡Bienvenidos a septiembre! Este mes viene cargado de emociones; dentro de poco llega el otoño y con él, muchas personas comienzan a plantearse muchos cambios. En los últimos meses he recibido muchos mensajes de personas que se encuentran tristes, estancadas, apagadas, sin ganas, sin rumbo y sobre todo sin saber qué hacer con sus vidas. A mí también me pasa; y cuando eso me ocurre… acudo a este ejercicio que me recuerda quién soy. ¿LO QUIERES PROBAR? Es muy sencillo, comienza por preguntarte: ¿Quién soy yo? Y anota en un folio en blanco todo lo que hace que seas tú. (Entre 30 y 40 cualidades). Recuerda que no todas tus cualidades son «buenas». Ej.: Entusiasta, trabajadora, amiga de mis amigos, empática, obsesiva, una persona que no desconecta, sensual, atrevida, osada, variable, visceral… etc. (Cuantas más características pongas mejor) ¿Ya tienes el listado? Ahora imagínate que con este listado nuevo de auto-conocimiento te vas a ir de viaje. Wilson, el Gremlin, es un adicto a la auto-superación y te acompañará a lo largo de tu viaje, en donde tendrás que cruzar 3 puentes. Antes de cruzar cada puente, Wilson te va a exigir que le entregues el 30% de tus características. Al final de tu viaje te habrás quedado con tan solo el 10% de tus cualidades iniciales. Y yo me pregunto: ¿Cuáles serán estas? .22

¿EMPEZAMOS? Puente Número 1: Para poder cruzarlo, Wilson, el Gremlin, te exige que le entregues el 30% de quién eres. ¿De qué 30% te desharías? ¿Cuáles son esas cualidades que le vas a entregar primero? Ahora imagina que te estás acercando al Puente Número 2, y nuevamente, con el fin de cruzar y no ser devorado por Wilson, el Gremlin, te exige que le entregues otro 30% de tus cualidades. ¿Ya sabes con cuáles de ellas le vas a pagar? Puente Número 3: Este es el momento de una visita final a tu lista de cualidades. ¿Qué otro 30% de cualidades finales le entregarás ahora a Wilson? Piensa detenidamente, ya que esto significa que el 10% restante serán tus cualidades para el resto de tu vida. ¿Qué es realmente importante para ti? ¿Cuál es la esencia de tu ser que DEBES MANTENER? ¿Estás realmente potenciando ese 10%? DO YOU WANT TO TRY IT? It’s very easy, start by asking yourself: who am I? And then take a blank page and write down what makes you yourself (between 30 and 40 qualities). Remember that not all your qualities are “good”. Now imagine you’re getting closer to Bridge nr. 2 and again, for you to cross it and not to be devoured by Wilson the Gremlin, you’re asked to give him another 30% of your qualities. Do you already know which ones you’ll leave? Bridge nr. 3: this is the moment for a final look at your list of qualities. What is the last 30% of your qualities that you’ll give Wilson? Think carefully, since this means that the remaining 10% will be your qualities for the rest of your life. What is extremely important for you? What is the essence of your being that you HAVE TO KEEP? Are you really boosting that 10%? I hope this exercise helps you as it does with me.
