Bienvenidos a este pequeño encuentro musical con l a gran famil i a Bocinegro Downhome. Welcome to this little musical gathering with the big Bocinegro Downhome family. Bocinegro Downhome es un grupo de blues nacido justo aquí, en esta isla, en aguas canarias. Se trata de un grupo joven formado por músicos que llevan tocando juntos solo dos años pero con un largo recorrido. Y es que estos músicos no paran. A sus espaldas cuentan con decenas de conciertos en toda la isla, dos discos grabados y un tercer trabajo en directo; el año pasado montaron y presentaron en Fuerteventura el espectáculo teatral musical «Gumbo»; han salido de gira por la península los dos últimos veranos llevando su música muy lejos, consiguiendo siempre conectar muy bien con el publico: Galicia, País Vasco, Portugal, Andalucía, Asturias; también tocaron en el festival internacional de blues de Getxo y abrieron el Womad 2016 en Fuerteventura. La primera formación del grupo estaba compuesta por David, Imma, Raúl y Jordi. Poco sabemos de David, que nació en Catalunya y que se le vio en centro América cabalgando libre y mirando al cielo. Es la huella que marca el sonido de Bocinegro, con raíces que llegan desde el blues del delta más antiguo hasta sonidos Saharianos. Siempre lleva la armónica en el bolsillo y el blues en el corazón. De Imma tampoco se sabe mucho, que viene de Nápoles, la ciudad más musical de Italia, y que canta desde que tenía tres anos —empezó encima de las rodillas de su padre, un gran guitarrista—. No ha parado desde entonces. Canta de todo, blues, jazz, rock, metal, música tradicional napolitana. Por el amor a la música se fue de su ciudad natal a Milán, donde la escucharon con estilos Dub y Trip Hop, hasta que llegó a la isla, Fuerteventura. Raúl es la tercera pieza del puzzle. Proviene de tierras asturianas pero es el más sureño de todos. Vive en Fuerteventura desde años, y entre otras cosas, escucha música prácticamente todo el día y es un auténtico motor con el cajón. Se había tomado un descanso pero ya está listo para volver. Jordi, otra pieza importante, es un joven con mucho talento, su historia todavía está por escribirse… Es una sonrisa que camina. Un guitarrista genial que tiene un hambre musical y gastronómico enorme. Estudia, toca y crece muy rápido.

Muchas vivencias en esta primera formación de la familia Bocinegro a la que ya se han unido otras perlas musicales. Pablo y su saxo llevan con el grupo casi un año aunque Pablo es de la familia desde siempre. Con su instrumento nos trasmite una energía de lo más contagiosa. Antonio es el último gran ingreso, percusionista refinado que, con su fondo de punk mezclado con el flamenco, enriquece los sonidos más blues de la banda. Además, a Bocinegro le gusta contaminarse con otros artistas de distintos estilos musicales. La primera contaminación fue con Althay, toda una estrella del timple canario y gran compañero de viaje, que comparte el camino con la banda cuando su agenda se lo permite… Más amigos colaboran y comparten escenarios: Alex, Aceycele, Andy, David… Actualmente están preparando nuevos temas y organizando la gira del próximo verano, con la que quieren llevar su blues a Francia, Bélgica, Holanda, Alemania y Chequia. Se puede decir que Bocinegro está en un buen momento, en continua evolución musical. Esta banda de blues sigue saliendo a tocar a la calle porque les encanta poder tener este contacto real con la gente, como siempre dicen sus componentes: «la calle nunca engaña, cuando alguien se para a escuchar la música es

Bocinegro Downhome is a blues band that was born right in this island, in the Canary Islands’ waters. It’s a young band made up of musicians who have been playing together for just two years but having a long career, and the truth is these musicians never stop. They have left behind them scores of concerts all through the island, two recordings, and one belonging to a live performance; last year they performed a theatrical and musical show in Fuerteventura: «Gumbo»; they have been on tour around the peninsula the last two summers, taking their music far away, always succeeding in connecting well with the audience: Galicia, País Vasco, Portugal, Andalucía; they also played at the international blues festival Getxo, and they opened Fuerteventura Womad 2016. The first panel of this band was composed by: David, Imma, Raúl and Jordi. Little do we know about David: he was born in Catalunya and then he was seen in Central America riding freely and looking up at the sky. He marks the sound of Bocinegro, with roots coming from the blues of the most ancient delta to sounds from the Sahara. He always carries his harmonica in his pocket and the blues in his heart. Little is known about Imma too. She comes from Naples, the most musical city in Italy, and she’s been singing since she was three —she started to sing on her father’s lap, a great guitarist—, she hasn’t stopped ever since. She sings everything: blues, jazz, rockmetal, traditional Neapolitan music. Due to her love of music she left her hometown to go to Milan, where she was heard with Dub and Trip Hop styles, until she arrived in Fuerteventura. Raúl is the third piece of this puzzle. He comes from Asturias but he is the most southern component. He has been living in Fuerteventura for some years and, among other things, he listens to music the whole day and he’s a true engine with the flamenco box drum. He had been taking a rest but now he’s ready to come back to stage. Jordi, another important piece, is a very talented young man. His history is still to be discovered. He’s a walking smile. A great guitarist with a huge appetite both of food and music. He’s now studying, playing and growing up very quickly. Other musical pearls have joined the experiences of the first panel of Bocinegro Family: Pablo and his sax have been in the band for almost one year now, although Pablo has always belonged to this family. With his instrument he transmits the most infectious energy. Antonio is the last great acquisition: a refined percussionist that, with a mix of punk and flamenco, enriches the most» blues-like» sounds of the band. Besides, Bocinegro likes getting influence by other artists with different musical styles. The first influence was by Althay, a true star of the «timple canario» and a great travel companion who shares a journey with the band whenever his agenda allows him to...there are more friends who collaborate and share stages. Alex, Aceyoele, Andy, David... At present he’s preparing new themes and organising a tour for next summer, thus taking their blues to France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and the Czech Republic. Bocinegro is said to be in a good moment, in continuous musical evolution. This Blues band keeps performing in the street because they love the real contact with people. As the band components state: «the street never lies, if someone stops to listen to your music is because they’re really interested, no strings attached. DE EPALZA

TODA UNA LEYENDA DEL SURF

Uno de los surfistas más influyentes y reconocidos de España, el que fuera el primer europeo en ganar el Campeonato Internacional de Puerto Escondido (México años 89 y 90), es desde hace unos años residente de nuestra isla. En el año 77 descubrió el surf y, desde aquel momento, su vida y su carrera profesional han estado completamente ligadas a este deporte, con 25 años de competición a sus espaldas, la mayoría de ellos en el equipo Billabong. Hablamos con el que fue campeón y subcampeón de surf de Europa en los años 1992 y 94, Alfonso Fernández de Epalza. ¿Cómo y cuándo llegas a Fuerteventura? He surfeado en las Islas Canarias desde principios de los 80, primero por Gran Canaria, Tenerife y Lanzarote, y a Fuerteventura vine por primera vez a principios del 2.000. Crucé desde Lanzarote con mi compañera Martha y con mis hijos Kosme y Bosko, siendo aún muy pequeños, un .6

solo día para conocerla y, como nos pasa a la mayoría, fue pisar Fuerteventura y sentir la atracción. Nos encantó y, desde el año 2004, comenzamos a pasar todas las vacaciones de Navidad aquí, porque era mágico encontrar siempre condiciones perfectas para surfear y además había muy poca gente en el agua —y también en la isla—, gente encantadora con la que conectamos maravillosamente. Este buen rollo era como un mensaje que con el tiempo se materializó en esta oportunidad que estamos disfrutando ahora mismo: vivir en Fuerteventura. Te lo habrán preguntado tantas veces… ¿todo tiempo pasado fue mejor? El mejor tiempo siempre es el presente pues es el que nos permite realizar cualquier acción. El pasado nos da una experiencia, satisfacciones y situaciones ingratas. De estas últimas es de las que más se aprende, si somos capaces de hacer una lectura positiva sin quedarnos atrapados en esos errores. En el surfing, el «aquí y ahora» se demuestra en su total plenitud, hay que vivir el momento. En realidad todo tiempo pasado fue diferente. En el pasado había mucha menos información, menos estilos de tablas, los diseños eran muy básicos, una tabla corta era

un 7.10… Hace años éramos 10 en una playa de la costa cantábrica y ahora podemos ser 150 personas. En lo que a predicciones se refiere, la tecnología es un grandísimo adelanto, nos permite llegar a un spot en el momento concreto en el que se dan unas condiciones específicas pero, como todo, tiene su contrapartida. La tecnología masifica, en contra de lo que realmente es el surf, mucho más personal: «tú y el mar». ¿Qué pasa? Pues que todos estamos en esa misma búsqueda, todos queremos sentir esta experiencia, por lo que los picos se van llenando de gente. Debemos buscar armonía y respeto. Es inevitable que entre a surfear gente nueva, lo que debemos intentar es educar para que vayan entrando poco a poco, en armonía y con respeto, para que observen, busquen su lugar sin interferir en el de los demás, para que fluyan con la naturaleza. ¿Tu mejor experiencia en el agua? La última ola que he cogido, es el recuerdo más reciente, el que tengo mucho más vivo. Te puedo hablar de mil experiencias pasadas, el tubazo de puerto Escondido que puso a toda la playa de pie, en la final del año 90 y fue para no olvidar nunca. Y de la ola de Mundaka, te puedo contar tantas cosas... Surfeé

Mundaka por primera vez en el invierno del 78 al 79 y fue tan increíble, que me especialicé en ella. O de las grandes y poderosas olas de Meñakoz, con sus drops infinitos, había muchos días que estaba solo, o con 1 o 2 amigos/ hermanos en el agua. Mundaka me ha dado olas y tubos que se escapan a la comprensión, tubos de más de 20 segundos. ¿Y cómo reaccioné ante las maravillas que iba descubriendo? Organicé mi vida para tener la posibilidad de estar allí cuando la marea era la buena, con las condiciones perfectas; vivir «aquí y ahora». La mejor experiencia en el agua es estar en el agua, intentar ser agua, fluir como el agua, fundirte con el entorno… Actualmente tienes un innovador método de enseñanza que tú mismo has desarrollado, Surf Emotions, ¿en qué consiste? Mi experiencia en el agua, en la competición, como competidor y como juez, en la lectura de la ola, en la enseñanza del surf, en el aprendizaje constante, en la vida…, me ha llevado a desarrollar este método con el que transmito la técnica del surf a través de ampliar tu percepción de la coordinación, mostrando las acciones correctas. Se trata de que el cuerpo tenga el conocimiento de los movi-

mientos que debemos hacer y cómo accionar la cadena muscular. Mediante la repetición trabajamos la memoria muscular buscando la fluidez del movimiento, hasta que el movimiento se convierte en natural, dejando así de pensar en él y simplemente fluyendo. Es una fusión entre el Tai-Chi, que llevo practicando 20 años, y el surfing, con el que llevo 40. El Tai-Chi te aporta una amplia conciencia de dónde está cada parte de tu cuerpo y de cómo se trasmite el movimiento. El surfing es crear armonía, muy radical o poco radical, pero siempre con fluidez. Se trata de que tu cuerpo tenga un buen ritmo, bien posicionado en la tabla y con el empuje correcto, es decir: armonía entre tabla, cuerpo y ola. Luego, a esto cada uno le va añadiendo la dosis de picante que quiere o siente. Además, intento transmitir la necesidad de eliminar la ansiedad, porque es negativa, nos saca de la ola; y trabajar mucho más la observación y la fuerza dirigida conscientemente, el tomarse un tiempo para observar la ola, para llegar al sitio correcto en el momento adecuado con la velocidad precisa. One of the most influential and recognized surfers in Spain, who was the first European to win the International Championship of Puerto Escondido (Mexico years 89 and 90), has been a resident of our island for some years. In the year 77 he discovered surfing and since then his life and career have been completely linked to this sport, with 25 years of competition behind him, most of them in the Billabong team. We loved it and, since 2004, we started to spend our Christmas holidays here, because it was magical to always find perfect conditions to surf and also there were very few people in the water - and also on the island lovely people with whom we connected wonderfully. These good vibes were like a message that materialized, over time, in this opportunity that we are enjoying right now: living in Fuerteventura. You’ll have been asked so many times... Were all past times better? The best time is always the present because it is the one that .8

allows us to take any action. The past gives us an experience, satisfactions and unpleasant situations. The latter are what your learn most from, if we are able to make a positive reading without getting caught in those mistakes. In surfing, the «here and now» is shown to its fullest extent, you have to live the moment. In fact all past times were different. In the past there was much less information, fewer styles of tables, designs were very basic, a short board was a 7.10 ... Years ago there were 10 people on a beach in the Cantabrian coast and now there can be 150 people. As far as weather forecast is concerned, technology has been a great advance, it allows us to reach a spot right at the moment in which specific conditions are given but, like everything else, it has its counterpart: technology gets overcrowded spots, against the real essence of surfing, much more personal: «you and the sea». What’s happening? Just that we are all in the same search, we all want to feel this experience; this is why the peaks are packed with people. We must seek harmony and respect. It is inevitable to find new people surfing, what we must try is to educate them so that they enter little by little, in harmony and with respect, in order to observe, to look for their place without interfering with the others’, to flow with nature. Your best experience in water? The last wave I have caught is my most recent memory, the one that I have much more alive. I can tell you about thousands of experiences, the great tube in Puerto Escondido that made the whole beach stand, at the end of year 90, which was unforgettable. And the wave in Mundaka, I can tell you so many things ... I surfed Mundaka for the first time in the winter 78-79 and it was so incredible, that I specialized on it. I could also tell you about the great and powerful waves in Meñakoz, with its infinite drops. Many days I was alone, or with 1 or 2 friends / brothers in the water. Mundaka has given me waves and tubes that escape understan-

ding, tubes that lasted more than 20 seconds. And how did I react to the wonders I was discovering? I organized my life to have the possibility of being there when the tide was the right one, with the perfect conditions; To live «here and now». The best experience in water is to be in the water, to try to become water, to flow like water, to merge with the environment ... Currently you have an innovative teaching method that you have developed, Surf Emotions, what does it consist of? My experience in water, in competition, as a competitor and as a judge, riding the wave, in teaching surfing, in constant learning, in life ..., has led me to develop this method with which I transmit Surfing technique through broadening your perception of coordination, showing the right actions. It’s all about our body having the knowledge of the movements that we must do and how to activate the muscular chain. Through repetition we work the muscular memory looking for smoothness of movement, until movement becomes natural and we stop thinking of it, it just flows. It is a fusion between Tai-Chi, which I have been practicing for 20 years, and surfing, for 40 years. Tai-Chi gives you a wide awareness of where each part of your body is and how the movement is transmitted. Surfing is creating harmony, very radical or not too radical, but always fluent. It is about your body having a good rhythm, well positioned on the board and with the right force, that is to say: harmony between board, body and wave. To this, each person adds the dose of adrenaline they want or feel. Also, I try to convey the need to eliminate anxiety, because it is negative, it takes us out of the wave; work observation much more and direct force consciously, taking time to observe the wave, to get to the right place at the right time with the precise speed. El Maratón des Sables LLEGA A Fuerteventura

Un canario ganador del World Press Photo en la categoría de «Naturaleza» El fotógrafo canario, Francis Pérez, ha ganado el primer premio de los galardones internacionales de foto periodismo World Press Photo, en la categoría de «Naturaleza», con la instantánea de una tortuga boba atrapada en una red de pesca tomada en la costa de Tenerife. La imagen, «Caretta caretta atrapada», llama a la reflexión y a la necesidad de protección del medio marino. Otros dos españoles figuran entre los premiados este año: Jaime Rojo, tercer clasificado en categoría de «Naturaleza», y Santi Palacios, segundo en la categoría «Noticias generales». One photographer from the Canary Islands, winner of the World Press Photo in the category of Nature The Photographer Francis Pérez, from the Canary Islands, has won the first prize in the international World Press Photo, in the category of «Nature» with the snapshot of a Loggerheads turtle caught in a fishing net in the coast of Tenerife. The picture «Caretta caretta atrapada» calls to reflection and the need to protect the marine environment. Tras tres décadas compitiendo en el norte de África, el Maratón des Sables, una carrera de Trail que se ha convertido en un referente mundial en lo que a carreras de resistencia se refiere, desembarca en Fuerteventura A partir de 2017, y tras una larga negociación por parte del Cabildo con la empresa francesa que se encarga de la organización, la versión reducida de esta prueba, bautizada como Media Marathon des Sables se celebrará en Fuerteventura. Se trata de una carrera complementaria a la mítica prueba que se desarrolla anualmente en el mes de abril en el Desierto del Sáhara, y Fuerteventura ha sido el destino elegido. Son pocos los detalles que han trascendido hasta la fecha, pero se barajan los meses de septiembre y octubre para su celebración. Otro dato que se baraja es que pudiera tener un recorrido de unos 130 km por la zona central y sur de la isla. Con esta prueba Fuerteventura, y las Islas Canarias en general, siguen sumando puntos para consolidarse como un destino perfecto para el deporte de aventura y naturaleza. The Sables Marathon arrives in Fuerteventura After three decades taking place in the North of Africa, the Sables Marathon, a Trail race that has become a global benchmark as far as endurance races is concerned, arrives in Fuerteventura. From 2017, and after a long negotiation between the Island Council and the French company in charge of the arrangements, a short version of this event, called «Media Maratón de Sables» will be held in Fuerteventura. This is a complementary race to the mythic event that takes place yearly in April in Sahara Desert, and Fuerteventura has been the chosen destiny. Little are the details revealed up to now, but September and October are envisaged as possible months for the celebration of this event. Another revealed data is the possibility of having a 130km-long circuit through the middle and South of the island. Doble nacimiento en el Oasis Park de Fuerteventura Nacen dos jirafas en el Oasis Park Fuerteventura. Se trata de una especie en alto riesgo de extinción cuya población se ha reducido en un 40% en los últimos 30 años, con lo que este doble nacimiento en el Oasis Park de Fuerteventura. «Es todo un éxito reproductivo», constató el zoológico. La primera cría es un macho, hijo de Saka y la segunda es una hembra que ha sido rechazada por su madre biológica, Yaiza, algo común en madres primerizas. Aunque por el momento la primera madre la ha adoptado, es muy probable que tenga que ser alimentada mediante biberón. Ambos partos han sido naturales y no han durado más de 45 minutos. La primera cría se ha puesto en pie tan solo en 30 minutos, siendo así la más rápida de la familia de 17 jirafas del centro. The first baby giraffe has been male, born from Saka, and the second one has been female and rejected by her biological mother, Yaiza, something which is common in giraffe new mothers. Although now it has been adopted by Saka, it will probably be bottle-fed. Both births have been natural and they haven’t lasted longer than 45 minutes. The first baby could stand in just 30 minutes, thus becoming the quickest in a family of 17 giraffes in this park.

Sports Volunteering in the Play & Surf program Play and Surf is a sports program of Play and Train Association aimed at people with any kind of dissability, which has been developed in the north of Fuerteventura since 2011. LA MONTAÑA DE LAS BRUJAS

En los anteriores capítulos hemos abundado en los valores naturales y culturales que atesora la montaña de Tindaya. Esos valores la han convertido en el espacio con mayor número de figuras de protección de Canarias. Tindaya es un Monumento Natural incluido en la red de espacios naturales protegidos del archipiélago; es Bien de Interés Cultural por la existencia de la extraordinaria estación de grabados rupestres; es Área de Sensibilidad Ecológica; está considerada como un Punto de Interés Geológico único para interpretar los procesos vulcanológicos pretéritos; es Monumento Histórico-Artístico y está afectada por el Plan de Protección de la Cuernúa (Caralluma buchardii) a la que aludíamos en el anterior capítulo. Pero, por sorprendente que pueda ser, las administraciones no han destinado ni un solo euro para su protección y la divulgación de sus valores y, sin embargo, se han gastado 30 millones de euros (de dinero público) en una pretendida obra de arte de la que no se ha movido ni una piedra. A la controversia suscitada por la obra del fallecido escultor Eduardo Chillida dedicaremos el próximo y último capítulo de esta serie. Antes se imponen dos cuestiones. La primera es la difícil interpretación del significado de los

grabados podomorfos (foto 1). Se han sugerido diversas hipótesis: pactos matrimoniales; lugar para impartir justicia; ofrendas propiciatorias; espacio para el culto a los antepasados; búsqueda de respuestas. La población indígena convirtió a la montaña de Tindaya en el más singular espacio cultual de la isla y, para algunas expertas, quedó constituida como su axis mundi, el lugar que conecta la tierra con el cielo, lo humano con lo inexplicable, el mundo de la vida con el de los ancestros. Un estudio interdisciplinar arqueoastronómico publicado en 1995 demostró que la dirección de los pies grabados en la montaña no era aleatoria sino que obedecía a un patrón. Como se puede observar en la gráfica (foto 2) la mayoría de los pies dirigen sus dedos en una franja que va desde el oeste al suroeste. Algunos de ellos coinciden con el lugar donde se encuentran dos elevaciones orográficas destacables, visibles desde Tindaya algunos días del año: el Teide en Tenerife y el Pico de las Nieves en Gran Canaria. Pero más significativo aun es el hecho de

que un amplio porcentaje de los podomorfos dirigen sus dedos hacia puntos astronómicos significativos: el ocaso solar del solsticio de invierno (foto 3) y su siguiente luna nueva, los lunasticios mayor y menor y el ocaso de la luna llena siguiente al solsticio de verano. Parece evidente pues que, con independencia de otros fines y sentidos, la montaña de Tindaya fue utilizada como lugar de observación astronómica relacionada con la imperiosa necesidad de que el cielo fuera benigno y regara vida a una tierra desierta y necesitada. La segunda de las cuestiones tiene que ver con su segundo nombre popular que ha dado título a estos artículos: la montaña de las Brujas. Es sabido que Fuerteventura recoge en su memoria colectiva cientos de cuentos y leyendas de brujas. Tindaya y su montaña registran decenas de historias que las vinculan con un mundo esotérico. Las brujas de Tindaya —siempre jóvenes y guapas, a menudo desnudas— no dedicaban su inmortal tiempo a venganzas ni maleficios. Las brujas de Tindaya vuelan y hacen volar, ríen, se divierten, benefician y se transforman. Y protegen la Montaña como, probablemente, hicieron Tibiabín y Tamonante, mujeres adivinas y apaciguadoras que repartían magisterio en el tiempo en que la avaricia no había convertido todavía a Tindaya en mercancía.

TINDAYA, THE WITCHES’ MOUNTAIN (IV) In previous chapters we have dealt in depth with the natural and cultural values that Tindaya mountain treasures. These values have turned it into the most environmentally protected area in The Canary Islands.

Tindaya is a Natural Monument included in the network of protected natural areas of the archipelago; it’s an asset of cultural interest due to the existence of the extraordinary rock engravings; it’s an area of environmental awareness; it’s considered as a point of geographical interest to understand the ancient volcano phenomena. It’s a historic and artistic monument and it’s affected by the «Plan de Protección de la Cuernúa» (Caralluma buchardii), which we mentioned in the previous chapter. But, surprising as it may seem, the administrations haven’t allocated a single Euro to protect and disclose their values, and however they have spent 30 million Euros (of public funds ) on a presumed work of art which has not been started yet. To the controversy aroused by the work of the late sculptor Eduardo Chillida we’ll devote the next and last chapter of this series. Before that, two questions arise: the first one is the difficult interpretation of the foot engravings (picture 1). There are several hypotheses: marriage settlements, a place to deal out justice, offerings, place for ancestor worship, looking for answers. The indigenous population turned Tindaya Mountain into the most singular cultural space in the island and ,for some experts, it became their «axis mundi», the place that connects the land and the sky, the human to the inexplicable, the world of life to that of ancestors. An interdisciplinary archaeo-astronomical study published in 1995 showed that the direction of the foot engravings in the mountain was not random, but it followed a pattern. As we can observe in the graphic (picture 2) most of the toes point to a ribbon of land stretched between the west and south west. Some of them coincide with a place where two outstanding summits are found, and they can be seen from Tindaya some days of the year: El Teide in Tenerife and «El Pico de las Nieves» in Gran Canaria. But even more meaningful is the fact that

a high percentage of foot engravings point out to important astronomic areas: the twilight in the winter solstice (picture 3) and its subsequent new moon, the two lunar standstills and the full-moon set following the summer solstice. It seems obvious that, independently from some aims and meanings, Tindaya mountain was used as a place for star watching, related to the urgent need of the sky being benign to water a dessert and needed land. The second question has to do with its second popular name that has given name to the title of these articles: The Witches’ Mountain. It’s well known that Fuerteventura gathers, in its collective memory, hundreds of tales and stories about witches. Tindaya and its mountain register scores of stories that link it to an esoteric world. Tindaya’s witches—always young and pretty, most time naked— didn’t devote their immortal time to revenge and curses. Tindaya’s witches fly and make others fly, laugh, benefit and transform, and they protect the mountain like, probably Tibiabín and Tamonante did: foretellers and peacemakers who spread their teaching in a time when greed hadn’t turned Tindaya into merchandise yet.
