TON NOM Pendant plusieurs années j’étais un homme avec un seul nom - Konstantin Shilyaev.

Puis, ma créativité, mon travail et mes idées ont fait de moi un nouvel homme. Il devenait impossible de tout associer à un seul et même prénom. C’est comme cela qu’est né FAKOSHIMA - mon autre moi, mon alter ego artistique.

Il a très vite été retenu par tout ceux qui me connaissent, et est devenu mon unique prénom.

FAKOSHIMA

Entrevue avec un homme moderne / Let’s talk with a trend-setter

Je ne voudrais pas tirer des parallèles avec des personnages historiques. L’histoire m’intéresse, et je me sens proche des personnages contemporains. Ceux qui vivent, ceux qui respirent, qui créer en parallèle avec moi.

Et je sens cette proximité, cette connexion relative à nos pensées qui me donne des frissons.

Par exemple le designer français Ito Morabito. Son surnom et sa propre marque, Ora-Ïto, sont devenus connus pour avoir collaboré avec des marques de Luxe sur des projets virtuels scandaleux. Plus tard, ces marques sont devenues ses clients. Nous sommes tous deux étiquetés futuristes, mais pour lui et moi, nous sommes plus d’un présent moderne.

Pour être honnête, je passe ces brefs moments de calme à ne rien faire. Juste à m’observer moi même dans la beauté de l’environnement et admirer le monde autour de moi. La liberté de mouvement est un grand privilège pour un homme contemporain. Il n’est pas toujours nécessaire de prendre son vélo, sa voiture, le train ou l’avion pour partir en voyage. La route elle même apaise l’esprit et devient une source d’inspiration. Le plus important est de toujours avoir ma musique avec moi, une playlist personnelle qui m’aide à voyager et à me sentir bien dans ma peau.

UNE VILLE QUE TU AIMES - POURQUOI

J’essaie d’éviter de manger des glaces avec d’autres nourriture, ce qui ne fonctionne pas très bien habituellement.

Aussi, je ne dirais pas que porter un costume est un de mes «pire defaut», mais plutôt mon «péché» favori.

QUELLE FIGURE HISTORIQUE POURRAIS-TU ÊTRE - POURQUOI

QUE PRÉFÈRES-TU LORSQUE TU NE TRAVAILLES PAS

J’adore Moscou - c’est une ville magnifique, vivante, toujours changeante, électrique, et pour le moment je suis concentré à y travailler. Je suis amoureux des grandes villes qui dégagent des énergies fortes, comme Tokyo et New York. Ici tout est disponible à n’importe quelle heure, et j’apprécie de faire partie de ce dynamisme vivant.

J’ai été très impressionné par Shanghai. Tu vas sans doute penser que je reviens sur ma réponse (rire), mais j’aime le changement. Les capacités évoluent, nous aurons d’autres priorités, il y aura de nouvelles méthodes de travail et de nouveaux procédés créatifs, et je compte bien tous les suivre.

TES PETITES HABITUDES POUR TROUVER L’INSPIRATION

Je rêve de voler en orbite autour de la terre et de flotter en apesanteur. Souvent, je me dis que la gravité terrestre m’impose trop de limite et cela me frustre. J’ai besoin d’essayer pour comprendre si ce sentiment est juste. Je suis persuadé que le développement du tourisme spacial nous le permettra dans un futur plus ou moins proche.

Mes inspirations vont librelibre ment. Lorsque je trouve une idée, celle-ci se transforme naturellement dans mon esprit. J’ai de multiples façons de me nourrir d’informations et d’énergies créatives : les expos d’art contemporain, les livres, les films, la musique, et bien sûr mes talentueux amis sont une source infinie d’idées et d’inpirations.

Et tout cela se reflète dans mon travail.

Pour le moment nous évoluons dans un niveau professionnel supérieur, et nous nous préparons pour le SILMO Paris World Optical Fair de cet automne. Cet événement est le plus prisé du pays, et nous y présenterons notre nouvelle collection de lunettes FAKOSHIMA. Nous ne le ferons pas d’une manière habituelle, mais sous forme de performance, d’installations artistiques, quelque chose de mémorable dont tout le monde parlera. L’idée que cela puisse être fait différemment nous enthousiasme. La possibilité de mettre en oeuvre une idée et de la montrer au grand public encouragera les autres à tester de nouvelles expériences.

YOUR NAME For many years I was a man with one name - Konstantin Shilyaev. When my creativity, work and ideas began to move to the next level, it simply became impossible and unnatural to fit everything under one name. This is how FAKOSHIMA came to be my other self, my artistic alter ego. It got swiftly picked up by everyone who knows me, and became the only thing they call me - FAKOSHIMA.

BEST PIECE OF INFORMATION SOMEONE HAS GIVEN TO YOU I don’t remember how I got this book “Catching the Big Fish” by David Lynch. There the author shares his experience in practicing meditation as a way of opening creative abilities. I would recommend for everyone to explore this book. Though in all seriousness, I am constantly in a process of learning. At times it amazes me, how I was unable to realise certain simplest things until now.

A most recent example: simply visualising own dreams, ideas, that at first seem unreachable. This method 100% works.

I try to avoid ice-cream and snack stands, that usually doesn't work out too well.

Although I wouldn't call smoking a “bad habit”, rather my favourite “deadly sin”.

WHICH HISTORICAL FIGURE DO YOU IDENTIFY MOST - AND WHY

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY THE MOST WHEN YOU ARE NOT WORKING

I wouldn't like to draw parallels with historical figures.

I take interest in history, yet I feel closer to the contemporary characters. People that are living, breathing, creating in parallel with me. It may be a long shot, yet I have an acute sense of this connection, and the understanding of that gives me shivers of incredible excitement. For example the French designer Ito Morabito.

His alias and personal brand, Ora-Ïto, became famous for scandalous virtual projects with notorious luxury brands.

As an outcome, these same brands became his future clients. Ora-Ito’s design is labeled futuristic, yet for him and myself alike it is more of an modern present.

To be honest, for those brief moments without work my favorite pass-time is doing absolutely nothing. Just being and observing myself in this environment and the world around me. The freedom of movement is a great privilege for a contemporary human.

And it doesn't really matter whether it’s riding a bike around the city, traveling by train, car or plane. The road itself can become a piece of mind, a source of inspiration.

The important thing is to take along my favourite music, it would be hard to manage during my trips without a personal soundtrack.

It is my dream to get to the Earth’s orbit and experience zero gravity. Sometimes I feel as if the Earth’s gravity is limiting my being. I want to understand and check if this feeling is right. I am definite that the development of space tourism will provide us with this opportunity in the nearest future.

My inspiration runs free, I take the idea and naturally transform it through the core of my visions. I believe there are many ways to nourish yourself with information and creative energy.

Contemporary art expos, books, films, music and my talented friends are an endless source of ideas and inspiration. All of this finds reflection in my work.

At the moment we are moving to a new professional level and prepare for the SILMO Paris World Optical Fair this autumn. This is the most authoritative exhibition in the field, there we plan to present our new collection of FAKOSHIMA sunglasses. We want to do it not as it usually happens on mundane shelves or stands. We plan to make this a performance, art installation, something that everyone will talk about, something definitely memorable. The idea that something can be done differently excites us to shivers.

The ability to replay an idea and to show it to others and encourage others to play with new experiments.
