Maleny Redback Cricket News Weather has been an issue over the last few weeks of cricket- we’ve had a number of games called off due to lighting in the area! However, last Friday night the weather was kind to us and our Under 10 mixed team took on Palmwoods at Landsborough. It was another fantastic team effort with some individual great play. Elliott and Eden shined with the bat and Hunter was laser focused with the ball; Maci Corkin was captain on the night. Eden Jenkinson ended up with the Player of the Match award for his stellar effort with both bat and ball and in the eld. This week we host our second and last home game of the season and are looking forward to welcoming our fellow teams from across the Sunshine Coast. This Friday we are super excited to be hosting at home; canteen will be operating.

Maleny Calendar of Events 2023.

We then head for a school holiday break in the competition and return late January 2024.

No events have been advised for this period of time.

The Sunshine Coast Scorchers will be hosting a number of Summer Clinics- you can get in touch with them for more information.

Have a happy and safe Christmas season and return next year - refreshed and safe.

We hope everyone has a fantastic festive season; lled with oodles of cricket or course!

Maleny Bowls Club returns to pennant competition

The Maleny Bowls Club has recently re-entered the Sunshine Coast men’s division 10 pennants competition in 2023 after a number of years in hiatus with an outstanding win.

Following the men’s win a number of lady members of the club also want to join the 2024 Sunshine Coast club competition. Congratulation to the club on their win. https://malenysportandrec.org.au/

The Range Croquet Club - Maleny The year closes. We seek and celebrate the company of friends, loved ones and family, to re ect and reminisce. This has been a good year for our club. We have enjoyed good play, good conditions, and a wide range of socially meaningful activities with the community of Maleny and other croquet clubs within the region and Queensland. Members of the club have built diversity of play within the club by branching out into other forms such as ricochet. They have also worked to improve standards of play by playing in outside tournaments, participating in representative squads, and training as coaches and referees. As a club we have been fortunate to enjoy the support of community and government. A ne example of this support is illustrated in the attached photos; one which shows Mayor Mark Jamieson of the Sunshine Coast presenting new “Sunshiney Balls” to Sarah Widin, the president of our club; the other is a close up of the balls. These were purchased for the club by virtue of a very generous grant from the Sunshine Coast council and are most welcome. Our last major activity for the year was the Christmas party. This was well attended at Maleny Grove again this year, had too much food and more than enough fun to go around. Please note that the lawns will be closed after the 14th of December when we will be dethatching and top dressing. Please enjoy the Christmas period. Return safely for a
