birth of children or grandchildren retirement death of a beneficiary or your Will’s executor If you have more than simple additions to your Will, it is probably best to write a new Will so it is all in one document. Dying without a Will is called Intestacy. If you die without having made a proper Will, you are said to have died Intestate. The intestacy rules govern the distribution of your Estate to your next of kin such as your spouse, de facto and issue (children, grandchildren). By far the best way to ensure your Estate is distributed to who you would like to benefit is to make a valid Will and keep it up to date. Carolyn is able to assist you in preparing a Will when you have given these matters some thought. The play to be read is ‘It Runs in the Family’ by Ray Cooney. Set in a hospital, the script contains the usual assortment of farcical nuts running in and out of doors mistaking everybody for someone else, as Dr. Mortimore tries to fend off a paternity suit, an ex-wife, a punkish daughter and various other lunatics so that he may, at last, deliver the Ponsonby Lecture in an international conference. A cast of 12 is required so if you are interested in coming along please let Teula De’Gras know by phone on 0423199005 or email on malenyplayers@gmail.com. The draft Sunshine Coast Heritage Plan 2021– 2031 is available for comment until Sunday December 13 via a short survey on council’s website at: https://haveyoursay.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/ open-consultation

The play is based on the general principle that all people have a right to live dignified, self-determined lives, free from exploitation, violence and abuse and that these rights do not diminish with age. The play also seeks to explore whether people appointed to the role of an Enduring Power of Attorney have sufficient knowledge of the nature of the appointment and the duties and responsibilities involved. Speakers from the Sunshine Coast Community Legal Service as well as Tove Easton of Easton Lawyers will address the audience and questions will be welcome. Because of COVID 19 restrictions it is necessary for you to book. Please ring Val France on 0419599042 as soon as possible to make sure of your place or email: combinedserviceclubsmaleny@gmail.com

The Range Croquet Club - Maleny On Thursday, in picture perfect conditions, Donna Manning and Ken Barker were beaten in a game of doubles 20 –9 by Vince and Val Carbery who played brilliantly.

Croquet is best played in an upright position. Only rolls tend to move most good players away from this stance which allows the best view of the line for a shot.

Play days: Thursday and Sunday 2.00 pm for 2.30. Contact Sarah for other days. Please arrive at 2 pm for games to be arranged by 2.30.

On lawn 2 Gillian Bradley and Janelle Wilson 10 beat Helen Andrews and Bev Sockhill 8 while Sarah Widin and Lynette Evans 15 beat Wallace Roy 7.

In the attached photo Greg Whymark, from Bribie club, playing in the first division section of our recent tournament, abandons the normal and drops to the ground to line up an important peel through rover. He made the peel and went on to win the game.

Coaching: is available on Saturday mornings at 8 am. Members pay no green fees and may practice or play on the courts at any time.

Sunday saw fewer players on the lawns because of the predicted hot weather. Fortunately, a persistent cool southerly kept conditions reasonable. Ken and Janelle squeaked ahead of Donna and Wallace 5-4at the same time as Stuart Craig and Val managed a 5 all draw with Vince.

We are now meeting at 2pm for a 2.30 start for all social play games i.e. Thursdays and Sundays. Coaching will still be from8am – 10am on Saturday mornings until further notice

Coaching is available on Saturday mornings at 8 am. Our web address is: https:// rangecroquetatmaleny.org.au For details contact Sarah Widin 0417640704 (President), Vince Carbery 54942193 (Vicepresident), or Priscilla Vickers 54943555 (Secretary).
