G'day fella’s. Wayne here, I'm the founder of Average Joes. We are a global men’s movement that meets for an hour each week in either a pub or cafe as a place for men to build a strong community by talking amongst other men about relevant things in the life of us blokes all whilst having a brew and making mates. Our meetups are focused and our topics are real and raw without any of the BS. To be clear, we are not a Mental Health group, or a suicidal support/awareness group or anything religious, we are purely just men that are committed to becoming better men, husbands, partners, fathers and everyday blokes. Wayne Taylor said, “This past generation has experienced the greatest hurt on men, we have empowered women so much that we have disempowered men.

Stall Tickets can now be pre-purchased through the online Store and can collected at the Admission Gate on the day. You will need to show your purchase receipt at the time of collection.

Proudly brought to you by our 3 local Primary Schools! After the cancelling of many community and not-for-profit events and fundraising activities since the pandemic commenced, the local Primary Schools' Parents' Associations have come together, as one, in the spirit of cooperation and mutual support to re-imagine a Country Fair that is open to everyone in our local communities.

On 9th September from 3.30 pm until 8.00 pm, this renewed and expanded event will see the Maleny State School’s main oval transformed, for one evening, into a traditional ‘Village Green’.

To learn more about the Maleny Country Fair and to pre-purchase Stall Tickets and heavily discounted Rides Wristbands, go to: www.malenypandc.com.au/maleny-country-fair

Welcome to the 2022 Maleny Country Fair

Filled with stalls offering fresh food and favourite homemade treats, assorted games, a licenced Bar, sideshow rides and other attractions (e.g. Mobile Farm, Fire Engine, Croquet, Sports Clubs, parading of the TS Centaur Naval Cadets, etc) along with a packed entertainment program featuring local community groups, school bands, choirs, dance groups and associated professional Throughperformers.combining all 600 students and their families across all three primary schools in our 4552 postcode AND opening the ‘Village Green’ to everyone, the Maleny Country Fair will join the Maleny Agricultural Show and the Maleny Commerce Christmas street party as the only three family-friendly events catering to the youngest through to those who are ‘young-at-heart’ in our local Thecommunities.MalenyCountry Fair is open to the Public and entry is free. This year, the event will be cashless for the games, food and beverage stalls. As these stalls will be operated by three different Schools, it has been decided to use a common pricing structure across all stalls and have one cashier (located in the Shed) and float for the whole event where cash, cards and mobile devices can be used to purchase Stall Tickets on the day.

When The Glasshouse District Primary School Sport Association lost their long time supporter, “Brother Charles Strong” in early 2022 it left huge boots to fill. He had been an avid supporter of the Association for over 30 years. He was association coach, mentor and worker and was well respected and was in 2019 entered into the Association Honours List with a Life Membership.

Cameron taught that it was important that we use good manners (please and thank you, listening and being polite) and to use self-control, as we are all in charge of our Everyonebodies. learned how to do blocking, punching, kicking, and breathing to calm down, and to only practice these moves when you are with a teacher.

The swimming club would be happy to employ a lifeguard (who can also ensure the water quality) so that the community can once again have access to the pool.

San Training Centre News

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the person who was contracted to open our pool to the community for the coming summer swimming season is now unable to meet this commitment. We must now explore options to recruit a lifeguard/coach/manager ASAP. We understand this is very disappointing news for the many people who were looking forward to the season starting. We are disappointed too.

It has been extremely difficult to find someone who is prepared to accept the conditions of access to the pool (the Maleny Pool is on Qld Education land, which comes with restricted hours for community use) and who can make it work as a business.

Job role would involve (but not be exclusive to) note taking, Facebook page management, communications and attendance at Ifmeetings.youhave any questions about this role or are interested please let us know by email at! malenytouch@gmail.comorphone0476808447

The Beerwah Kindy was visited by Cameron and Jada from the San Training Centre last week in response to their children sharing with the staff about how much they enjoy going there. One of the littlies even wore his uniform to kindy to show everyone his green belt! Cameron and Jada taught everyone all about balance, how you can progress through the ranks to get different coloured belts, and that Taekwondo came from a very long time ago when there were Ninjas and good guys.

The position will be advertised on the Swimming Coaches and Teachers Australia website. We will keep you updated.

The Range Croquet Club - Maleny

Our Thursday play afternoon on August 18 saw six players come down to enjoy an afternoon of very pleasant weather and some fun on the lawns.

Another happening during this past week was a visit from the Maleny Uniting Church’s Ladies Fellowship Group on Thursday 18th August. Twelve ladies enjoyed playing several friendly but competitive games of Golf Croquet, coached by Sarah Widen, Wallace Roy and Donna Manning. This was followed by a delicious morning tea provided by the visiting Weladies.all enjoyed meeting these lovely ladies and we have to say some showed natural talent for the sport, in particular Val Clarkson who played many years ago and hasn’t lost her touch. Could she be a star in the making? We’re always happy to welcome groups wishing to come and play croquet on our lawns and enjoy showing newcomers the ropes and making sure a fun day is enjoyed by all.

Donna Manning and Sarah Widen played a practice game and Sarah was coached by Donna in preparation for an upcoming tournament. There was much discussion about being the underdogs in the upcoming match ups and we wish them all the best. Meanwhile a doubles match was underway with Wallace Roy and Kath Smith taking on Helen Uhlmann and Helen Andrews. Wallace and and Kath triumphed, with Kath playing particularly brilliantly with accurate roquets and hoop approaches, setting herself up nicely to make hoops. Meanwhile the two Helens, although trying their best, came up well short, the final score being Sunday20:5.21st

Donna Manning played Nick Cram winning with a score of 15:11. At the same time, Wallace Roy played Stuart Craig, winning resoundingly with a final score of 19:4. Great play, Wallace!

Visitors to the show-grounds may have noticed the works occurring along our boundary while our irrigation system was being connected to the bore during this last week. This is a keenly anticipated milestone for us and we look forward to playing on healthy green lawns going forward. A huge thanks to all who participated in this process! The attached photo shows Matthew Howard and Wallace Roy surveying progress while the trench was being dug for the irrigation system.
