Feel free to make a donation to help support the band during these COVID times. And did we mention there will also be practical displays of woodworking by local artisans and pottery from the Maleny Arts and Crafts group – as well as botanical art?
Delicious food will be available, including Devonshire Teas with scones and strawberry jam, so come along and enjoy some country hospitality. Buy some produce to take home too! There is nothing better than homemade jams and marmalades made from locally-grown oranges, lemons, strawberries or rosellas on your toast at breakfast time! Speaking of fruit, why not buy fresh pineapples direct from a local farmer at the Spring Fair? Pineapples are full of vitamins and minerals and make a great addition to a BBQ or family picnic.
Plenty of car parks are available on-site and the Showgrounds location means just 5 minutes walk from the main street. Safety is crucial in this COVID-19 era and this event is complying with all the current requirements of the Queensland Government. Please check our Facebook Page for updates: https://www.facebook.com/ MalenySpringFair2020/ See you there!
There will also be music to enjoy – jazz, pop, world music, classical and other styles from the Buderim Concert Band –

DOGS - DOGS - DOGS
Maleny Showgrounds reminder!
Unfortunately some dog owners are abusing the privilege of using the Maleny Showgrounds as an off-leash dog area.
During recent weeks some irresponsible owners have allowed their dogs to enter the playing fields during games and training. This is extremely dangerous for both dogs and players. In addition, some owners are failing to clean up after their dogs, which is a health and biosecurity risk to other users. There have been disturbing instances of uncontrolled dogs being aggressive and dog excretion being plastered on the padlocks of the buildings at and
around the Soccer/Pony Club House.
This is extremely disappointing, please remember these are shared
grounds and dog owners must ensure their dogs don’t disturb anyone else using the facility.

Miles has indicated that for the first two weeks, 14th and 21st respectively, there will be an opportunity to confirm team numbers and their composition whilst ensuring both weeks are as sociable and as fun-filled as possible. The 'competition' will kick-off in earnest on 28th October for an 8 week season finishing in midDecember. You are encouraged to arrive by 5.45pm for the commencement of bowls at 6.30pm. The cost of the evening will be $17.00. This will cover the cost of the game and the lovingly prepared burger. Once again raffles will be held and prizes awarded. To conform with COVID - 19 Safe Plans, under which the club must operate, bowlers will receive their food in individual take away containers. There are added responsibilities as a result of social distancing requirements and recording attendance details. This is an exciting time for the club, so be sure to be part of the revival. If you have any questions or require clarification of what is proposed please contact Miles Allen by email at: miles@milesallen.com Maleny District Sport and Recreation Club Inc

Watch your pets - there are ticks about With the relatively mild winter and the recent wet weather, followed then by warm weather; this is the ideal time for ticks to be out in force. Pet owners need to be vigilant. A spokesperson from the R.S.P.C.A. said that while they’re only tiny, they are actually one of the most dangerous parasites affecting domestic pets. They

can cause severe illness and, unfortunately, often death. The prevalence of ticks increases during ‘tick season’ - October to March. Mild winters and lots of rain at the start of spring and summer contribute to the rise in tick cases. You should also check your pet for ticks daily.
