everyone’s talking about... JAY Z AFFAIR WITH RIHANNA RUMOURS RESURFACE An explosive new book titled Becoming Beyoncé: The Untold Story is packed with scandal including “that rumour” that Jay Z and Bey spilt for a year as a result of having an affair with Rihanna. The rumours speculate that the RnB queen split up with her rapper husband in 2005 after scouting a 17-year-old Rihanna and managing her single launch of Pon De Replay, at the time Jay Z was 35 and Beyoncé was 24. The rumours were never confirmed and some say that it was created to drive big hype for the Rude Boy singer as she first came onto the music scene. The claims come from the best-selling writer J Randy Taraborrelli who has released the new unauthorised biography. This may not come as a shock to fans as the pairs relationship became under scrutiny after the infamous elevator incident in May 2014 between Beyoncé’s sister
Solange and Jay Z which involved a physical fight between the two over the fact that Jay Z wanted to go to a party with Rihanna. Taraborrerlli, 59, told Entertainment Tonight “They spent a year apart from each other because Beyoncé just wasn’t sure of what to make of the situation with Rihanna.” But even after this he still states that Rihanna and Beyoncé are friends. The loved up pair were almost inseparable over four years when they first got together but once Rihanna came into the picture things were never quite the same. J Randy has previously wrote books about the Hilton family, Michael Jackson and Madonna and is known for breaking celebrity scandals to the fans by always revealing their darkest secrets.
TAYLOR & CALVIN DENY SPLIT RUMOURS Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have taken to Twitter
to deny split rumours after media reports claimed she dumped him after he visited an exotic massage parlour. DJ Harris even went as far to say he was going to sue for defamation that printed untrue allegations about the couple. “It´s not going to be a happy ending for everyone I sue for defamation of character for all these stories.” The news comes as Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris have been named as the highest paid celebrity couple, overtaking Beyoncé and Jay Z. The pair, who have been dating since March, top this year’s Forbes list with a combined income of £92m.
NEW ROMANCE ALERT?
The Voice judges Gwen Stefani, 46, and Blake Shelton, 39, have channelled romance rumours after their flirty behaviour. Sources close to the pair have stated that’s there is a strong chemistry flowing between the single singers. Neither Blake nor Gwen have denied any rumours which has led to the speculation flowing. Gwen filed for divorce from her husband of 13 years Gavin Rossdale on August 3rd whereas Blake who spilt with this wife number 2 Miranda Lambert in July following a 4-year marriage.

NEWS PERRIE AND JOEY ESSEX AN ITEM?!
Perrie Edwards and Joey Essex have met up on numerous occasions and have raised speculations that they are dating. Zayn Malik’s former beau exchanged numbers with the Essex star at The Pride of Britain Awards 2015, sources close to the pair go as far to say Joey is smitten with Perrie. The pair have not confirmed or denied any rumours of dating but they are currently just getting to know each other. The
Little Mix member is making no secret that she is a big fan of her new single life, “I’m having an absolute blast, I’m feeling brilliant and I’m in a good place,” both Perrie and Zayn have been romantically linked to a long line of celebrities since their spilt but this one by far is the most shocking! Although the new pairing does come as a surprise to fans as Joey Essex was recently pictured with his girlfriend Charlotte Stuchfield on a romantic holiday.
NAKED BIEBER PICTURES Justin Bieber was spotted completely naked while on holiday in Bora Bora this week with his British girlfriend Jayde Pierce, ‘The New York Daily Times’ published the censored images after the singer was spotted in his private pool. Bieber fans immediately generated the hashtag
‘#respectjustinsprivacy’ stating that the paper should have never published the photos as it’s a massive invasion of his privacy. The jokes began to develop with some pointing out the resemblance to the ‘erotic aubergine’ that was previously banned on Instagram.
MAN UTD STARS HOMELESS XMAS GIFT Manchester United footballers Gary Neville
and Ryan Giggs have let a group of homeless squatters stay in their new hotel and are even providing them with hot meals! The ex footballers bought the lavish Stock Exchange building in Manchester with plans to turn it into a boutique hotel. But when squatters moved in they delayed plans for renovating the building until February so the group would have somewhere to stay for Christmas. Neville has even agreed to pay builders to make the space habitable and will dish up meals three times a week according to reports.
SELENA GOMEZ’S SHOCKING SECRET The 23-year-old beauty has hit back at rumours that she attended rehab after revealing that she went through chemotherapy to treat lupus. During an interview with Billboard she bravely confessed she battled with the autoimmune disease, which was the reason she cancelled concerts in late 2013 and went on a brief hiatus. There has yet to be a discovery as to what causes lupus but the disease causes the body’s immune system to turn on its own healthy tissues and the symptoms can range from mild all the way to life threatening.
Selena cancelled the Australian and Asian segment of her tour in December 2013 and faded from the spotlight, ‘I wanted so badly to say, ‘You guys have no idea. I’m in chemotherapy. You’re a**holes’ she told Billboard. She only came back into the limelight once she felt confident and comfortable with herself again. The reformed Disney star did not understand the hate she received and why she became the subject of rehab rumours as she has been a UNICEF ambassador since she was 17, injecting good not bad into the
world. Her new album is a reflection of her life journey and how she overcame lupus and her haters. The lead single ‘Good for You’ has become a global hit enhancing her new found confidence alongside her nude album cover. Selena released her highly anticipated second studio album Revival in the second week of October 2015.

TRIED & TESTED HANGOVER CURE For those nights out when a paracetamol just won´t cut it… Marbella Rocks has come across a new hangover cure that actually works! Sober Up is a dietary supplement containing 14 natural herbal ingredients that are clinically proven to fortify the liver and speed up the reduction of alcohol content in the blood. While testers here at the magazine said it definitely helped out with hangovers with one reviewer saying “it really took the edge off when I woke up in the morning” and “I really noticed the difference after taking Sober Up and the hangover shakes went completely” be warned it doesn´t completely eradicate hangovers. So if you are interested in testing the new shot drink remember it can help the dreaded day after - but it can´t perform miracles after umpteen
tequilas. Another added bonus of Sober Up is it contains all natural ingredients and no caffeine so when the nourishing vitamins get to work in 30 minutes after consumption, you know it is not just caffeine getting you going again. If that doesn´t convince you there’s a new scientifically supported hangover cure coming from a bunch of Aussie scientists at Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation. Korean pear juice, which has been proven to help by speeding up your ‘alcohol metabolism’, making it easier to consume more. Scientists advise drinking 220ml of Korean pear juice before a night out for a significantly lessened hangover the next day.

mark 7. Place a large roasting tray in the oven to preheat. 2. Carefully remove the hot tray from the oven, then add the oxtail. Season and drizzle over a lug of olive oil, then toss to coat and place in the hot oven for around 20 minutes, or until golden and caramelized. 3. Meanwhile, trim and halve the leeks and celery lengthways, then chop into rough 2cm chunks. Peel and chop the carrots into 2cm pieces, then place into a large ovenproof casserole pan over a medium-low heat with 1 tablespoon
of olive oil. Pick, roughly chop and add the thyme and rosemary leaves, then add the bay and cook for around 20 minutes, or until soft and sweet, stirring frequently. 4. Meanwhile, remove the oxtail from the oven and set aside. Reduce the oven temperature to 170ºC/gas mark 3. 5. Add the cloves and flour to the veg, stirring well to combine, then pour in the tomatoes and port (or wine, if using). Add the oxtail and any roasting juices, cover with the beef stock or 1 litre of cold water and stir well. Turn the heat up to high and bring to the boil, then pop the lid on and place in the hot oven for around 5 hours, or until the meat falls away from the bone, stirring every hour or so and adding a splash of water to loosen, if needed. 6. Remove the pan from the oven and leave to cool for about 10 minutes. Using rubber gloves, strip the meat from the bones and return to the pan, discarding the bones. Add a good splash of Worcestershire sauce, season to taste and enjoy with creamy mash and seasonal steamed greens. TIP: Turn this stew into soup by adding a good splash of boiling water and simmering to your desired consistency. I also love this stirred through pappardelle and served with a grating of parmesan on top – incredible!
WINE MATCH Making stews like this hearty oxtail recipe from Jamie Oliver is an excuse to break out the full bodied red wines. A Pinot Noir or a dark and fruity Bordeaux like the Chateau Fantin Bordeaux Superieur would be a great option. Cabernet Sauvignon or a Merlot would be a good alternatives as they both contain sufficient tannins to counter the rich taste of the oxtail. For those wine novices out there, tannins are the compounds found in all red wines and they come mostly from the grapes’ skins and seeds, as well as from the barrels in which the wine was aged. They give wine aging potential and are an essential part of a wine’s structure and balance.

VACATION
ELLIE GOULDING DELIRIUM
SOUNDLESS
Hangover star Ed Helms leads this comedy film playing Rusty Griswold in an epic story of one man’s mission to take his family to ‘Walley World’ in order to reconnect with his sons and spice things up with his wife Debbie, played by Christina Applegate. The film spins off from National Lampoon’s Vacation from the eighties which will provide nostalgia with audiences from that era. The original featured Chevy Chase following the same challenging car journey. Rusty is Chevys middle aged son who plans to recreate his father’s road trip to the infamous ‘Walley World’. Eager eyed fans should know that Chase does make a split second appearance as a short sighted grandad. The family undergo major obstacles on their way to the theme park but in some cases the comedy aspect is borderline predictable. The main character delivers a few laughs on the way but will be a disappointment to Hangover fans as the jokes are evidently different and more slapstick. The gags were modernised by directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan M Goldstein, for example eating a sandwich from a dog urine soaked hamper has been swapped to sorority vomit races and the entire family swimming in faeces (lovely!?). Vacation is a film you cannot help but have a few guilty laughs at - such as the scene in which the rental car’s angry satnav is set in Korean. One thing is certain: after watching the film you will be thankful that your road trips are not as eventful.
Ellie Goulding is releasing her highly anticipated third studio Album Delirium on November 6. A follow up to Halcyon in 2012, the blonde songstress dropped the first single On My Mind from her third record on the 17th September which sent fans into a craze anticipating more music from the leading lady. Ellie debuted her album cover, which entails her wearing nothing but a fur jacket with her voluminous blonde hair swept across her face. The new album is a reflection of her challenging journey through life and a play on the word Delirium, “It can be a really crazy, a happy state or it can be the complete opposite,” Ellie said. In terms of hot collaborations, Ellie has teamed up with Disclosure where the boys have transformed one of the singer’s piano based songs into a modern up tempo dance anthem. Ellie has been working with top producers, One Republic’s Ryan Tedder, Greg Kurstin and Max Martin, the album has 16 tracks and an extra 6 on the deluxe album, featuring fan favourites ‘Love Me Like You Do’ taken from the Fifty Shades of Grey album and ‘Outside’ featuring Calvin Harris alongside original tracks such as ‘Around U’ and ‘Lost and Found’. Ellie has stated the album is something different from her usual music but is still using her signature sound of piano and guitar, “The album has taken on a new life of its own and I can’t stop it”. Ellie describes Delirium as a perfect end to the summer, with a mix of heartbreak and uplifting beats.

Just think of mystical fantasy adventures and Richelle Mead the number 1 internationally bestselling author springs to mind. The Vampire Academy and Bloodlines writer has done it again with Soundless - a new fantasy set in Chinese folklore. The protagonist Fei lives in a very quiet and distinctive village where the frequent weather changes prevents any resident from leaving the sacred place and earning a meaningful living for themselves. Fei lives with her family and the entire community rely on a zip line that carries food up the cliffs from Beiguo - a far away and mysterious kingdom. The story takes a dramatic turn when villagers begin to lose their sight and the zip line food deliveries become obsolete. Fei’s entire world and the people she loves is placed into jeopardy under the dark reality of starvation and crisis. The story then throws Fei into her heroic role as sound becomes her weapon and she is the only one that can end the terrible reality that is unfolding. Mead takes readers on a challenging and emotional journey as Fei travels to the valley of Beiguo in which the shocking truth unravels and a romance in the form of an unlikely alliance will change her life forever. Soundless combines adventure, suspense and romance with themes of family and loyalty and whether you are a fan of the author or not, you will definitely not want to miss out on this fantasy novel. Katy Perry keeping it real
A
merican singer and songwriter Katy Perry real name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson has been making waves across the music, fashion and film world since her first breakthrough with I Kissed a Girl back in 2008. Katy had setbacks prior to becoming the star she is now, having been dropped by Columbia and Def Jam she was signed to Capitol Records in 2007 as they saw potential in the breakthrough musician. Recently Katy shared her opinion on the Democratic debate, fans viewed her in a different light as she submitted a question to CNN for the presidential candidates regarding protection over women from abortion hate campaigners. Her passion about issues that matter to people is what sets her apart from the rest, even with her new fashion collaboration with a top high street store and recording her latest music she manages to make her voice heard in the political world. Katy Perry is not one to shy away from public feuds either, everyone is aware of her ongoing battle with Taylor Swift! The former friends have constantly been shaming each other on social media with Katy following the account ‘Slutty Taylor Swift’ on Instagram and Taylor apparently wrote Bad Blood in dedication of Perry herself. The spat began after Katy allegedly stole some of Taylor’s dancers, she felt betrayed by the dancers but it was allegedly reported

the dancers were Katy Perry’s beforehand. The alliances against Perry have not stopped her winning as she is still holding her head high and releasing successful records one after another. Katy’s latest single This Is How We Do went platinum in 4 countries and sold over 11,000,000 copies in the United States alone. She finished her ‘Prismatic World Tour’ at the end of October 2015 which included 6 legs from Europe to Latin America performing hits
from her fourth studio album Prism which was released 2 years ago in 2013, the tour was the second highest grossing and highest grossing led by a female in North America. The 30 year old stated that the album would be darker than the rest as it was the first music record she released following her public divorce with Russell Brand, it served fans with singles Roar which was nominated for Grammy Awards and Unconditionally which charted successfully worldwide. Katy is known for her wild and colourful music videos, she likes to reflect the personality of the songs and her emotions through fancy dress and storytelling from the Egyptian theme in Dark Horse and a confused nerd in TGIF which is why her diehard fans never fail to support her. Katy, like many female pop queens, have an array of men falling at her feet and a few of them have been lucky enough to be with the lady herself but unfortunately they have all ended and she is currently single but this does not stop romantic speculations arsing. Her unlikely two year marriage with Russell Brand seemed like a match made in heaven (and it appeared that Katy had tamed the untameable!) The

I have to evolve, I have to continue to push people’s perceptions of me,” the singer explained why she hasn’t given up on love. Her latest link was back in September when rumours speculated that she was rekindling her romance with John Mayer but Perry was quick to dismiss the claims. In terms of her type of guy, she has turned a new leaf with her idea of a perfect appearance, “If your teeth and nails are good, you’re a candidate, if you can’t clean under your nails and you want to touch me, forget it. And personally the less hair, the better.” So guys you best take note! Aside from her passion of music, Katy has a natural flare for fashion whether she is trending neon hair or boho glamour, she is always ahead of the game. If you take a look at her fashion from red carpet awards to a casual day in LA she likes to stand out from the crowd. This season Katy Perry was named the face of H&M’s holiday campaign for their Christmas collection, Her red lip and red bowed hair made her the star contender for the brand. The plans for Ms Perry’s future have no signs of stopping, Katy has widened her expanding set of skills and has recently teased a release of a new video game app Katy Perry Pop. The colourful game features a cartoon version of the singer which guides players along to reach their musical dreams, the animated app follows in the steps of Kim Kardashian and Demi Lovato who have both also got their own games. With a mass of success under her belt, fans can expect Katy to continue to surprise us with her impressive list of talents. DONALD TRUMP IN RACE FOR PRESIDENT The Apprentice reality TV star and real estate magnate Donald Trump announced he is running in the 2016 elections to be the next President of the United States. The hair implanted, suave man revealed his campaign “Make America Great Again” and policies including becoming the greatest jobs president God could ever create, funding social security (not cutting it) and stopping Iran acquiring nuclear weapons. His most hard-hitting policy, announced during his 45-minute long speech at Trump Towers in June, was “completing the Mexican border fence and making Mexico pay for it.” He won´t be winning much of the US Hispanic vote with these sorts of comments though.
CAITLYN REVEALED TO THE WORLD One of the biggest celebrity news stories of 2015 has to be the unveiling of Caitlyn Jenner on the cover of Vanity Fair and the news of her transgender surgery. The 65-year-old former Olympic athlete, previously named Bruce, star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians and former husband of Kris Jenner announced to the world, “If I was lying on my deathbed and had kept this secret and never came out I would never forgive myself.” Caitlyn is appearing in her own reality show called I Am Cait where she revealed that she had gender confusion from as early as 10 years old. The show has been commissioned for series 2 which will air next year on E!

One of the world´s largest carmakers Volkswagen admitted to rigging tests to make its cars appear greener. No sooner than the scandal broke, the CEO resigned and the group were bombarded by billion dollar lawsuits from unhappy customers that bought Diesel VW´s and Audi´s from the group with rigged software which allowed them to pass pollution checks. Choosing to hold their hands up and admit to the epic mistake, VW pulled a marketing first and put out ads admitting to breaking their customer´s trust and publicly apologising. For a brand that has sold itself for 55 years as being honest this had to be the hardest hit to take. It is believed over 11 million vehicles are affected. $16bn has already being wiped off the group´s share price with bankruptcy rumours lurking still.
RULE BRITANNIA Queen Elizabeth II was announced as the longest reigning Monarch ever, surpassing Queen Victoria´s record with over 63 years, 7 months and two days on the throne. The Queen officially broke the record at 5.30pm and David Cameron led the world´s tributes by describing her reign as a “golden thread” running through the generations. Baroness Smith, Shadow Leader of the Lords, added, “Her Majesty did not choose to be Queen, she had it thrust unexpectedly on her at a very early age. Her strong sense of duty that has been evident throughout her reign shows great respect to her country and Commonwealth.”

SWINGING LOW, SWEET CHARIOT England became the first nation to be knocked out of the Rugby World Cup 2015 after a devastating 33-13 loss to Australia at Twickenham Stadium. Australia were quick to rub salt in the host nation´s wounds by nifty editing on Wikipedia. Scoring 28 of Australia’s 33 points, Bernard Foley’s Wikipedia page was edited to reflect his recent win. Under ‘University attended’, the 26-year-old’s biography was changed to read ‘University of How to Beat England’. Australia also posted a picture of England´s Tour Bus with signs for sale – used only twice in perfect mint condition. v

FEATURES HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SINGING? Ever since I was a tot, say 3 or 4. It´s always been a huge passion of mine. I had the debilitating illness ME when I was 12 and it was the only thing that carried me through all the tough times. YOU WRITE ALL YOUR OWN LYRICS - WHATS YOUR INSPIRATION? Anything meaningful. If you dissect my lyrics you can see there´s substance to my writing. I like to write songs that tell stories and produces feelings. For example: “We lie on the grass under the sun, talking about life and how it begun.” To me that conjurs up feelings of hope. I hope it does to fans too. TELL US ABOUT EFRON STYLE? I wrote Efron Style when I was 12 and really into High School Musical but it wasn’t quite right so I went back to it when I was 14, pulled it apart and came up with the current version. HAS ZAC HEARD THE SONG? Yes! His management Alchemy have been in touch to tell me he has heard and loved the track!
Marbella is my home. My mum and sister live here and I am so fond of the place… and the weather of course.
WHAT IS YOUR STYLE OF MUSIC? Although Efron Style is a pop song; I have written and performed country, soul, dance and club music. I believe artists nowadays have to be versatile.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS? To fill an arena one day and win a Grammy! I also loved the US where I performed with a group called Broadway Dreams – cracking the US would be amazing. I believe if you dream it and want it enough, you can do it.
WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR THE FUTURE? I want to release an album shortly. I have been working on composing my own music with Logic Pro as well as writing my own lyrics. I now have over 16 tracks built up and 20 more songs written. MARBELLA OR IRELAND? It has to be both! I split my time between Dublin where I have a lot of friends, family and support but equally

he season of Christmas parties is approaching and the inevitable question is what to wear? This is actually not a very easy question to answer because every country and culture is so different and so is every party. So in this article I will give you some options: ● Go all-out chic in a party dress. ● Keep it simple but effortless in a blousy top and trousers ensemble. ● Wear those same tops with a nice skirt or go for a festive jumper. ● Dress up your casual jeans with a sparkly top ● Make it extra glitzy with the right accessories.

1. THE PARTY DRESS
I’m definitely in the dressy camp and a nice party dress is always chic. This is the time of year when you can really go all out with sparkles which is heaps of fun! If it’s cold you want to make sure you don’t freeze at your party, choose a dress with sleeves and wear a cami underneath.
2. SIMPLE & EFFORTLESS CHIC
If separates are more your thing then dressy trousers with a blousy top are very chic. Wrap blouses are all the trend now, excellent for hiding tummies and so comfortable to wear.
3. CHOOSE A FEMININE SKIRT
For a slightly dressier and more feminine look you could make the same kind of tops work with either a straight, A-line or lace skirt. Great when paired with a clutch and some hip shoes.
4. CASUAL CHIC
If all the above options are too smart for you, you could even wear your favourite jeans to a party. I personally would go for your darkest and dressiest jeans. Make sure to choose a top that is dressier than your normal tops. Any tops with sequins would fit the bill!
5. DRESS UP WITH GREAT ACCESSORIES
Accessories are extra important at Christmas parties. Choose your fanciest shoes and your nicest clutch. Sometimes that is all it takes to dress up a simple outfit and make it party-ready. They are extra important if you have chosen a casual chic outfit.
WHEN THE THEME ON THE INVITE IS “CHRISTMAS PARTY” When I first saw this on an invite I

was like, “Oh, crud. That is so open to interpretation. What will people actually be wearing?” The key is to understand the kind of party you’re attending. If the party is with close friends and family, go for it. Bring out the kitschy candy cane earrings or embarrassing jumpers. Every family seems to have a fun person who loves to go bold for the holidays. If it’s a work-related invitation or anything formal, wearing anything shaped like a present, candy cane or Santa Claus could be a huge manners mistake. You need to either leave it at home or it needs to be so tasteful that it would be considered cute and sweet without being childish or kitschy. If you’re going to your boyfriend’s parents’ house, where you will meet them for the first time, think twice about the impression you’d make by being decked out like Santa’s helper. I recommend dressing in a single classically festive color, like red, green or even cobalt blue, like this fantastic jumpsuit from French Connection. I’m also a huge fan of black and gold or black and silver because that’s always going to look sharp. Or, look to the season runway shows for what’s holiday appropriate. The runway trends can be the perfect guide. This year, fashions include sequined or lamé fabrics with
beaded or fringe accents. Just don’t wear that all at once. The key here, is to remember that a little goes a long way. Designers have taken a relaxed and pared-down approach to festive fabrics that have over-thetop reputations. Fabrics like lamé have an indelible history: Think MC Hammer, “Dynasty” and Solid Gold Dancers. Marc Jacobs used sequins on pants and paired them with a cashmere crewneck sweater for a playful, sporty look, and Lanvin’s T-shirt dresses featured gigantic, beaded flowers that looked soft and elegant because of tonal beading. Even in the most formal of situations, clothing is more casual now than it has been in the past. Festive dress is an opportunity to play up special elements. But what if your special element is a snowflake-and-jingle-bell necklace? Never say never! It’s all in how you wear it. If you’re going to have this crazy, Christmasy necklace, I would suggest wearing all black with it. But make sure you own it, if that’s what you’re feeling.
FUN CHRISTMAS OUTFIT Approach the holiday season with
outrageous holiday sweaters from the 1980s and ‘90s. Pair them with clean, understated make-up and hair, and have a great time. If you’re in on the joke, then you can really run with it, and if you’re not, then God bless you and it’s amazing that you still really love that sweater!!
Prepare to be amazed, because many people do. I love to use a sewing machine and a glue gun to modernise vintage sweaters as an alternative! Perhaps younger generations wear them ironically, trying to out-ugly each other, and that offers a degree of holiday flair that really shines. I also remember that in the 1980s, people truly loved these sweaters. Someone would have had home decorations that matched that sweater, and they weren’t tacky at all, at that time. In the holiday season people are feeling happy. A funny sweater adds to the festive flavour. If people dress in something that makes them stand out, they will have more fun.
MASTERING WHAT TO WEAR… ON THE FARM
The key to mastering a countrysideapproved Christmas outfit is interchangeable footwear. While you might fancy wearing heels to rock around the tree you’ll need boots, or, at the worst, wellies to make it from car to house and back again. Opt for a chunky knit — Fair Isle works well — and a pair of tapered jeans or trousers — I’m going for leather. NB: Thick socks are a handbag essential. WITH SLIGHTLY STUFFY IN-LAWS This minefield should only be tackled with the help of the perfect party dress. Neither too short nor too long, your dress shouldn’t be flash or revealing. Seek out decent fabrics — his parents are allergic to polyester — and choose a forgiving silhouette

AT A POSH HOTEL Should you be lucky enough to be dining Michelin-style at Christmas, think long, floating and as dramatic as possible. If you can’t wear a long, backless gown to Claridge’s at Christmas, when can you? If straight off the catwalk is out of your price range — although, let’s face it, it probably isn’t — head to Topshop or Zara, which has an amazing collection of evening gowns in store at the moment. DURING A PUB LUNCH If an EastEnders’s character were writing this, she’d insist that all Christmas Day pub attire include a PVC mini and as much leopard print as Santa can fit in his sleigh. But she’s not, I am, and I say avoid the latter like the plague. A festive

ON THE SOFA!! Before we get started on this — very lucky — tribe of Christmas dressers, there’s something I have to say. I ENVY YOU! Truly, what could be more delightful at the end of a hectic year than an opportunity to spend the entire day eating turkey and mince pies in your pyjamas? Should maintaining a state of undress be part of your Yuletide plan, ditch the faded M&S nightie and invest in a printed pair from Toast. Better still, ask Santa for them. hristmas is just round the corner and there’s a reason why we love tinsel on Christmas trees and strings of lights around our homes! Whilst sparkle and glitz may create an impact, it can be hard to pull it off with your make-up. Here’s my top tips to stop you from glitter overdosing and getting it just right this winter.
ILLUMINATE

Her current work includes fashion, bridal and beauty work representing some of the largest names in beauty such as Dior, Estee Lauder, Urban Decay, Lancôme and Elizabeth Arden. She has also worked on multiple photo shoots and music videos, recently working with Sony Music London. Also as a member of MAC PRO Alicia regularly stays up to date with new looks.

The winter can leave your skin looking dull and flat but this season is all about radiance. Highlighters will revive your winter skin and inject some glow into your complexion. Chanel Mouche de Beauté Illuminating Powder €72.00 is a gorgeous smooth illuminating powder that I can’t recommend enough. It adds warmth to your face and reflects the light leaving you with an instant glow. Get the most out of your highlighter by applying it to areas where the sun would naturally reflect, such as along the cheekbones, down the centre of your nose and along the brow bone.
GROWN UP GLITTER EYES
Whether it’s at your winter work do, Christmas dinner or New Year’s Eve party wearing sequin tops is one thing, but having loose glitter cascading down your cheeks is another. So make sure you rock that glitter right this Christmas. It is a bit more complicated than your average eyeshadow application, but wearing glitter isn’t impossible by any means. When choosing your glitter choose wisely! Stick with a glitter eyeshadow or cosmetic loose glitters, start with a little and build up gradually. Try doing a two-tonal glitter make up look where you blend colours from the inner to the outer corners of the eye. Always keep a tissue held under your eye when applying to catch any of the excess glitter that falls away. You want your eyes to be the main focus here. Remember just because it’s glitter doesn’t mean you have to go all out! If you’re not comfortable with full-on
HAIR & BEAUTY glitter, try it just in the corners of your eyes to instantly brighten and find a shade that’s neutral or close to what you’d normally wear. Why not add on some eyelashes to really make those eyes pop! A good pair of fake eyelashes will give your eyes a completely different look. MAC has a wide selection of good quality, natural looking strip lashes that feature a dense full and wispy look. CRYOLIPOLYSIS
Often referred to as fat freezing, cryolipolysis uses controlled cooling to eliminate stubborn fat in those tough areas that people struggle to remove with diet and exercise alone. Q: HOW DOES THE TREATMENT WORK? Lorena: The cryolipolysis machine
72 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 16
MARBELLA
works by sucking the areas of fat you want removed into a plastic vacuum container that then freezes your fat to break down fat cells that are then flushed naturally out of your body. Q: IS IT PAINFUL? Lorena: No, some patients find it uncomfortable but it is definitely not painful. Q: HOW MANY INCHES OF FAT CAN A PATIENT TYPICALLY LOSE AFTER THE TREATMENT? Lorena: Everyone is different and it totally depends on your metabolism. If you eat healthily, drink lots of water and do some form of exercise you will see the results quicker. Q: HOW LONG TILL YOUR BODY STARTS TO SHOW THE EFFECTS OF THE SCULPTING? Lorena: After 3-4 weeks patients will start noticing the results. Full results are seen after 12 weeks. Q: WHO IS THE PROCEDURE MOST SUITABLE FOR? Lorena: Any age, the machine can be altered for older or young people.
LASER LIPOLYSIS
This non-surgical liposuction is the perfect treatment to have prior to having a cryolipolysis or can be used as a great standalone treatment for cellulite and fat. Q: CAN YOU EXPLAIN HOW THIS TREATMENT WORKS? Lorena: This treatment works by infiltrating three layers of tissue with the use of low level lasers. This fat zapping light energy encourages the fat cells to release water, free fatty acids and glycerol through the pores of the cell. Q: ARE THESE LASERS DANGEROUS? Lorena: No, all our machines are FDA and CE approved and are not harmful to the surrounding tissues including skin, muscle and nerves. Q: SO HOW EXACTLY IS FAT ABSORBED OUT OF THE BODY? Lorena: The fat cells become free floating compounds and are absorbed by the lymphatic system and metabolised as energy. The fat cells having lost the vast majority of their content shrink making you look
HAIR & BEAUTY
thinner. Q: WHAT IS THE PROJECTED FAT LOSS WITH THIS TREATMENT? Lorena: Results can be seen immediately after treatment. Typically a 2-4cm loss in abdomen circumference can be achieved with every treatment. A course of 8 treatments is recommended over 4 weeks with 2 treatments per week.
THE DEEP FREEZE:
The Deep Freeze combines cryolipolysis with laser lipolysis. If combined with Flawless Marbella´s Infra red sauna room or Infra red pressotherapy room to aid detoxification and further enhance the fat loss process. This is a great option to combine the two to help aid fat loss faster. You have 45 minutes of cryolipolysis, then 45 minutes laser of lipolysis.
OXYGEN FACIALS
Oxygen is essential to rejuvenate dull skin, aging skin, fine lines and wrinkles while helping to clear acne. Think plumping and your skin will glow instantly. Measurable oxygen levels begin dropping in the skin at the age of

HAIR & BEAUTY 25 and extremely low oxygen levels are strong indicators of aged skin. By age 40, 50% of the skins ability to consume and retain oxygen has been impaired. When the skin is deprived of oxygen, blood vessels constrict and it severely compromises the skins ability to function properly. Q: CAN YOU TELL OUR READERS EXACTLY WHAT THE OXYGEN FACIAL DOES? Lorena: Oxygen gets your skin breathing again. And when your skin is breathing everything thereafter that we do, brings even more exceptional results, because oxygen opens your pores all the way down through the layers. Q: CAN YOU NOTICE RESULTS AFTER JUST ONE TREATMENT? Lorena: Yes. One treatment and you will say “Wow!” Madonna, Kim Kardashian and Jessica Biel are celebrity fans of this treatment. Q: WHAT ARE THE OTHER BENEFITS OF THE OXYGEN FACIALS? Lorena: The list is endless… including evening out skin tone, drying blemishes and acne, increasing suppleness and elasticity and making the skin glow. Q: IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE USEFUL TO KNOW ABOUT THIS TREATMENT? You can do the treatment while pregnant. 98% Oxygen is pumped into the skin on the face, neck and decolage. The treatment is suitable for any age aged 18 and over.
FLAWLESS OFFER:
Microdermabrasion and Oxygen facials combined work very well together. Flawless Marbella are offering 10 sessions for €300 (normally €400).
NANO
The Nano is the best treatment to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. It is half Nano and half Oxygen Facial. The results are immediate and 10 treatments are only €400. It works best when you do the intensive at the start 2 treatments twice a week for the first 2 weeks, then have the treatments monthly thereafter to maintain the results. The Nano is a great alternative to Botox, as it gets your skin working, increasing collagen production.

And no we´re not talking French, shellac or acrylic. Today men in executive jobs need to have clean nails and a sophisticated look. There´s no point in wearing a €1000 suit with ragged nails like a lumberjack. In my grandfather´s day, like today, men took pride in their appearance and Barber Shop´s offered haircuts, shaves and manicures. In the last 10 years male grooming has erupted with more men opting for treatments including manicures or waxing, plucking and threading for eyebrows. I blame the rise of Hollywood actors, footballers and pop stars in the media. They have suddenly realised that they can make themselves look good, feel great and with little effort. Plus, with the rise of the selfie generation - how you look close-up - has become even more important to men. So in the name of research(!)…..after a quick 5 minute Google search I found over 150 male celebs that regularly participate in manicures. Among them are: Johnny Depp, David Beckham, Jared Leto, Gavin Rossdale, Marc Jacobs, David Arquette, Steven Tyler, Seal and Russell Brand. Marbella Rocks also backed up my claims that grooming is here to stay. The mag polled 100 women on male grooming and the general consensus - 96% in fact - said that dirty, unkempt nails was a huge turnoff. A hairy back was high up on the list of turnoffs too – with 92% saying they would not date a man with overgrown, “gorilla-like” back hair. Similarly, 78% of women said they would not sleep with a man with a “monobrow!” Without doing further research, I can tell you now that NO CELEBRITY in their right mind still has a monobrow. So the list of male Hollywood A Listers, reality TV stars, footballers and celebs that have their eyebrows maintained would easily exceed 1 million. No word of a lie people. The funniest thing about male grooming is men don´t have to work hard to achieve a groomed look. These treatments can take as little as 5 or 10 minutes and can make a world of difference to your appearance. And even better news is there is now an easy, wallet friendly solution to the Neanderthal man!! While women have had salons dedicated to their beauty treatments for years, places like my new business, The Barber Club Marbella, are helping men to look good and at a fraction of the cost of what women dish out.

HEALTH & FITNESS
P
THE ULTIMATE EXERCISE
eople ask my opinion of what I think is the Ultimate Single Exercise; my answer is always the same An Overhead Squat. The overhead squat is in my opinion the best indicator for every body part working in perfect form, that means great mobility, great flexibility and great core strength, it is not really an exercise for improving leg strength in the way that you think, It is however great tool for training the strength and stability of your shoulders and core. It’s also a great tool to mobilize your thoracic spine, ankles, and hips.
MOBILITY, STABILITY, AND STRENGTH
Most people struggle with at least one of these mobility and stability issues: ● Tight or overtight pecs that pull the shoulders and upper back forward. ● A stiff thoracic spine that can’t extend. ● A weak core - not just the ab section. ●Inflexible hips, knees, and ankles. Doing overhead squats can actually help relieve these issues. It’s important, though, that you start with basic positioning. Don’t throw plates on a bar and expect your body to be able to handle it, especially if you have any of the above issues. Patience is key and so is mobility training. The overhead squat can turn you into a more limber, well-rounded athlete:
EXTENSION TRAINING
Many people sit hunched forward all day, then go into the gym and train their muscles that they can see. If your upper body is in constant flexion (leaning forward), your
82 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 16
shoulders and scapulae are pulled forward this makes it really difficult to extend your arms straight above your head. It will certainly feel most uncomfortable to do -that’s if it is possible at all. The overhead squat can help your body learn how to extend. Your thoracic spine and abdominal muscles must learn how to move backward with as much ease as they flex forward. If your thoracic spine and core can be strong and in a good position no matter what you’re doing, you’ll have better success in all of your functional moves including lifting weights and even how you stand. Although it might be uncomfortable at first, putting your upper body into an extended position can improve the health of your spine and shoulders. As anyone who lifts knows, avoiding back and shoulder injuries is paramount.
HIP AND ANKLE MOBILITY TRAINING
Many people I see struggle to do a back squat without their knees caving in or the their heels lifting from the floor, this becomes very more visible when they first attempt OHS. Most peoples posterior chain is poor, meaning the muscles in the rear of the body are not properly activated, such as glutes, hamstrings and hips and even calves, if you want to conquer the OHS posterior chain then all the rear muscles need to be functional and help assist move the weight. If you lean too far forward, you’ll put strain on your knees and rely too heavily on your quadriceps. If your knees continue to collapse inward, focus on loading your glutes and hamstrings in some isolated work before attempting OHS. Your knees should never fall
inside of your toes. Learning how to consciously move your knees into the right position will make your squat better. The overhead squat is also a great indicator of ankle flexibility. If you can’t get more than 90 degrees out of your dorsi-flexed ankle—meaning toes pointed toward your face—then more mobility training is needed.
CORE STRENGTH TRAINING
Your abdominals, obliques, and deep core muscles such as the transverse abdominals are essential to squats, pull-ups, and almost every other exercise you can name. Although many of us train abs by doing endless crunches, the primary role of the core is antiextension and antiflexion. So, if you have a loaded barbell on your back, your core must keep you from falling forward or backward and getting crushed. The overhead squat makes your core work overtime because the weight is over your head, making your centre of gravity much higher. Also, because your torso is elongated, the tension in your deep inner-core muscles will be very intense. So for a much stronger mid section, forget any form of sit-ups and learn to lift a bar overhead.
SHOULDER STABILITY TRAINING
Including the overhead squat in your program can train your shoulders to function better. To do the exercise properly, you’ll have to be able to rotate your shoulders and retract your scapulae. That’s not an easy position, even with no weight, and I find people struggle with this position more than any other body part. So practice mobility moves to improve this area. It is recommended that you
HEALTH & FITNESS
work on your weak or tight areas for approximately 10 minutes per day, everyday.
BALANCING ACT
Holding anything above your head requires balance. The weight needs to be perfectly placed above the centre of gravity. If you lean too far back on your heels, you risk losing the weight behind you. If, on the other hand, you’re on the balls of your feet with your heels in the air, there’s a good chance you’ll miss the lift forward.
A word of warning
The overhead squat is a really difficult movement to do correctly. I would definitely not recommend this for beginners, you can damage any number of body parts, so before attempting lifting any bar try practicing with a long broomstick, work through improving your mobility first across every body part. A drill I give all my clients before moving onto OHS is the following: Stand facing the wall, 6 to 8 inches from the wall, set up at perfect squat position, feet hip width apart, shoulders retracted,. abs braced, now place your hand on the wall in front of your face. As you lower into the squat, pushing your knees out as you do so, maintain a nice straight spine, now slide your hands up the wall to straighten arms, you should be seated in your heels, with your bum at the bottom of the squat and arms straight overhead. Not everyone can get into this position at first, but it is a great mobility exercise to practice and will improve with time. Once you are confident in supported OHS squats then attempt using a broom, and when ready attempt with an empty bar, only loading once you are confident that the body is ready. AND, when you can complete and perfect OHS you can claim that your body is well balanced with great mobility, great core strength and good functional movement. Remember to consult with a GP before starting any new exercise program, and it is wise to seek advice from a strength coach before attempting any Olympic lifts. If you have any questions relating to this article or fitness in general then please contact me. Jojofrance_69@hotmail.com or 687 030 047 Good luck!

The cocktail menu has an extensive list bursting with flavours. The tasters picked the refreshing Strawberry Mojito, wonderfully garnished; it tasted fantastic. In terms of the food menu our reviewers opted for the starters of Tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella and Foie Gras, the two dishes were beautifully presented and tasted divine. The Tomato and Mozzarella dish came with light crunchy pastry wrapped perfectly around the salad and had a hint of fresh basil tangled in the tomatoes. The French option didn’t fail to disappoint, taking a tender slice of Foie Gras with 5 spices of Madagascar flavour and layering it on the homemade Brioche - created a taste sensation - which everyone needs to experience! The main courses on offer included Tagliatelle Vongole Mariniere, Beef Tartare and there also is an array of smaller dishes from the ‘Starters, Salads and Light Bites’ menu if that is preferred. Our testers went for the main courses of Chicken Tagine, Pork Belly and Home Smoked Wild Salmon Nicoise Salad. Again each dish was a masterpiece with lashings of coriander splashed across the plate. The Chicken
Tagine is a firm Moroccan favourite, accompanied with a bed of white rice and the persevered lemon and pear sauce from the chicken gave off a tremendous spicy flavour. The Wild Salmon will be a favourite with avid foodies as you will be able to distinguish the flavour, setting it aside from your normal salmon dish. The dish was served on a bed of lettuce with asparagus, baby new potatoes, kalamata olives and poached egg drizzled with a light hollandaise sauce - by far one of the best salads we have had in a while. The slow cooked Pork Belly was on par with the previous dishes, cooked to perfection and served with cabbage, apple and cloves. For the dessert, sweet-toothed readers will be happy to know you can take your pick from Tarte Tartin to Warm Chocolate Fondant. Our tasters went for the traditional Eaton Mess, with the merengue at the right texture and the raspberry coulis tasting sweet with a zingy twist, Mos Eisley knows how to do puddings just right. The front-of-house team are a very friendly group and the service is quick even during busy evenings. The interior design of the place reflects the tranquil ambience, with
GASTRONOMY
colourful lighting, candlelit tables and 3D wall features it’s a great evening setting. There is also a large state-ofthe-art curved TV at the bar making it the perfect place to showcase major sporting events. The restaurant is owned by the beautiful and glamorous Julie Campbell. Her vision was to create a place for families to enjoy by offering something exclusive for both adults and children. Every Sunday Mos Eisley now offer a full brunch buffet, which includes everyone’s favourite roast dinner and Disney characters to entertain the kids with face painting and more. If a long lazy Sunday roast dinner appeals to you adults – but the kids are less than amused – these fantastic in-house entertainment days will be worth their weight in gold! Plus, Mos Eisley is planning an exciting range of event nights every month, so stay tuned for more from this fantastic little gem of a restaurant. t´s that time of year again. Surrounded by family and loved ones and with the over excesses of Christmas, tiredness can set in and arguments occur. It can happen without intention; words spoken by a loved one may touch a nerve, trigger a fear or inject anxiety into a situation, and before you know it…feelings running wild, logic and reason fade into the background, giving the stage to a full blown family argument. Sparked without warning, creating friction, tension and disharmony - the pressing of buttons happens most profoundly with close family members be it siblings or partners. Unfortunately those we are closest to are the ones we hit out at the most. Maybe its because we feel we have an unbreakable bond with these people we can say exactly what enters our heads. Often though, we may not even realise that we have ‘pressed a button’, and certainly (unlike perhaps with our siblings in our younger years), we have no intention of doing so, and most likely, the other person had no intention of triggering anything in us, (most of the time!). It is just something that happens because we all have hidden depths. When learning to stop allowing others to press our buttons, the first thing to know is that how we feel has nothing to do with the other person, when all they did was unintentionally trigger a nerve, touch a wound or press a button. Once we can accept that how we feel is purely about us, and that if we have unintentionally triggered something in another, it is not about us, we do not need to take on their issues, it is their issue. Here´s my psychologists guide to having a great festive season - with peace, love and joy to all!!! TAKE RESPONSIBILITY: If you find that you have said something to press someone’s buttons, acknowledge it. Sure, it was not intended, but it happened. It was not your fault, but you were the trigger. There is no need for blame or guilt, just simple recognition. If someone pressed your buttons, recognise they touched a nerve, and that it may not have been intentional. Take responsibility for your reaction to them, mindful of how you are feeling and what has been triggered, without projecting blame onto the other person. We are 100% responsible for how we feel; no one makes us feel anything.
PSYCHOLOGY
CREATE SPACE: Give the other person time to process what has been triggered. Remember, it may be nothing to do with you. If someone pressed your buttons, give yourself time and space to be with how you feel, and to process what has happened. Remember, it may be nothing to do with them; they were just a trigger, much like a car horn beeping when you are already stressed! ASK, WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON WITH ME: What is at the core; what fear, hurt or wound underlies how you are feeling? Buttons get pressed because something small, touches on something much deeper, something that you want to keep hidden or have pushed into the subconscious to avoid feelings of hurt or pain, or the experience of an unwanted emotion. In this sense, you could thank the other person for unknowingly highlighting something that may help you to heal. BE PATIENT: Do not engage with the other person until they approach you, or you feel calm and able to manage how you feel and ready to express yourself in a calm way, otherwise it is likely that another emotional scene on the stage will be written. LISTEN TO THE OTHER PERSON: If the other person chooses to express what happened and why what you said or did affected them, try to hear and to understand what they are communicating to you. When we listen to what is being said and we watch the way in which it is being said, we can also gather information to help choose an effective and calm response. If someone pressed your buttons, explain to the other person what happened and why you reacted as you did. Do not project blame, but rather create time to express
what you want to say. Sometimes this helps us to feel better understood and we give the other person a chance to respond, to show that they understand. As a result of such communications, relationships can flourish. FIND MEANING IN WHAT HAS HAPPENED: When we choose to go through life looking for meaning in things that happen, the good, the bad and the plain ugly, and we can take a positive meaning from this, it helps to let go of negativity, breed understanding and acceptance and make way for inner peace and peaceful relationships. FINALLY, CHOOSE GRATITUDE: When we can process difficult, painful or challenging feelings, emotions or interactions in a peaceful way, and make time to seek positive meaning, wisdom and empowering lessons in what has been, the situation can become a positive experience from which to learn and grow, personally, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. When we share this process with others, we give each other a chance to see the beauty in the life’s challenges, and enable, inspire and empower each other to learn and grow together, in peace, compassion and love. I think many of us know all this, but it is not automatically embedded in our minds, and so it is helpful to keep reading about it, and thinking in this way, until it becomes automatic; until we become peaceful communicators. I really hope my advice to you all helps and remember above all, to take a deep breath and a step back before taking the high road with a family member. It may not be their fault rather us acknowledging a truth in how we feel about ourselves. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and New Year. See you in 2016!

ASTROLOGY
MARBELLA ROCKS ASTROLOGY FORECAST NOVEMBER 2015
Aries
Gemini
Leo
21 MAR – 20 APR A soulmate connection could be winging its way to you this November as the planets shine and entwine in your sector of lasting love. What lies between you and your heart’s desire should also be exposed allowing you to dissolve the barriers between you and your goal. A trip of a lifetime or even travel for business could open up new horizons or opportunities to make your mark. It’s time to think seriously about the direction you want to go in and commit to it - whether it involves career or goals of the heart. Go directly to your dream and you will have high possibilities of achieving it, is this month’s message.
22 MAY – 21 JUNE Perhaps your current obsession with the body beautiful has been triggered by the attention of someone special this month, Gemini? It’s a chicken and egg situation as in which comes first? Does your desire for a more gorgeous and perfect version of you attract the attention in the first place or is it a response to the love potential you feel welling around you? Whichever way it plays out, you can look forward to making an impression whether it’s a business or a personal encounter - so ensure you create the best possible one. Think of yourself as stepping into a movie role every time you set foot outside your front door and project your stardom accordingly for success.
24 JULY – 23 AUG The start of the month sees you focussed on home and family matters or something that cements your future, Leo. Think in the long term and discover that roots allow you to reach for the sky and this is the most important thing in any person´s life. The third week of November is alight with opportunities to go out and have fun or even a fling with someone who may just offer the entire package - smart, savvy and sexy and whom you’re proud to show off. Your idea of what’s important to you may have changed of late. Prioritise what your heart wants now - whether it’s a nest, a nest egg, or someone to nest with. You´ll know what this is by Christmas so avoid panic early on in November.
Taurus
Cancer
Virgo
21 APR – 20 MAY Incredible inroads into work goals can be made now with a new job beckoning for some while others could carve a starring role in projects or collaborative ventures. Don’t be tempted to over indulge now however as you may discover there is more than one kind of hangover if you do - not just the head kind but the sort that hangs over your jeans and is hard to shift. The universe is also sending you a message that time’s up in some way - it’s either time to go on or realise it has run its course and it’s time to walk away. If you experience endings this month it is all part of a larger plan so please don’t try to hold on or prevent it happening. New beginnings lie ahead - even if they are not yet visible.
22 JUNE – 23 JULY Fresh starts, new beginnings especially around creative projects or romance see you sparkling like an early festive light, Cancer. Others could see children feature in some way. Time to shrug off being serious and kick up your heels and let your inner child have his or her way. If you do, you’ll attract like-minded others. Remember there’s a world of difference between being childlike and childish. Time to unleash a sense of wonder or magic that comes with discovering something new - either a new love or loving what you do - or simply discovering that you can! Others may find themselves on the move or moving in with that lover. You could be playing for keeps now - playing being the operative word.
24 AUG – SEPT 3 If you’re not serious about your plans then how do you expect to be taken seriously? Time to commit to something for the long haul with no half measures. Be prepared to do whatever it takes for however long it takes. Fortunately for you, unlike many other signs you don’t have an ‘instant gratification takes too long’ mindset. Good news could reach you around the second week of November which shows you that you are on-track. Try to organise business meetings, interviews and presentations in the third week when you’ll not only be able to get your point across or sell yourself effectively, but be in a position to impress those in positions of authority while you’re at it. December offers a milestone and even if it’s not your final destination, you’ll at least be able to see you’re on your way.
116 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 16
Libra
Sagittarius
Aquarius
24 SEPT – 23 OCT Think carefully about what it is you want to attract this November as you are a magnet set to ensnare anyone or anything on the same wavelength as yourself. I always say there is nothing sadder than a single Libran as you are the sign of partnerships, so this could be good news for those of you whose scales have become decidedly unbalanced from being solo for too long. Put it out there and take that step towards it and chances are it will meet you long before you get to halfway. But it does pay to be specific. You don’t buy an airline ticket to ‘somewhere nice’ - you have Marbella as your destination. So, when it comes to what or who you are hoping to encounter don’t be afraid to get specific and radiate ‘ready to receive’ as you do it.
23 NOV – 21 DEC This birthday season love has a touch of déjà vu magic to it even if you’ve only just met. This could quickly turn into something serious and even get free-spirited archers thinking about settling down. Life and soul of the party? That’s you as you launch into holiday festivities a month early. Social situations offer the chance for romance, to make new connections and to reach your goals. Who you know becomes increasingly important. No matter what it is you are seeking, reach out and connect to as many different people from a diverse range of backgrounds as you can. One of them you encounter could literally hold the key to manifesting a heart’s desire in the early part of December.
21 JAN – 19 FEB A new job offer or promotion could be on the cards and if you are seeking help or advice, older or more experienced friends or contacts are the ones who can offer the guidance you seek. Those of you travelling could encounter someone who just seems larger than life with a touch of Lara Croft or Indiana Jones about them. If you are studying, want to work in the media, travel or have a vision to share with the world, they could be the key to either collaboration or making it happen for you. Fire up those goals and ambitions now and don’t be deterred by thinking any dream is impossible now. By the end of the month you’ll know if a romance has a future - or not as you’ll see the connection for what it is. Time to fall in love with the real person - not the rose-tinted version of them, or let things go.
Scorpio
Capricorn
Pisces
24 OCT – 22 NOV Does someone deserve a second chance? Only you can answer that and only you can decide whether you and they, have changed enough in the intervening time to ensure a different outcome. You want the future to offer something fresh - not a reheated version of more of the same so think carefully. We only repeat history when we fail to learn from it. If you have learned to value yourself you’ll want to avoid repeat performances when it comes to heartbreak. Assets and self-worth form the bedrock of your decisions and you need to ask if someone is an asset that you can bank on? If they come up short then your choice should be clear. A new source of income could be up for grabs and that reflects what you’re truly worth. Ensure others mirror back the same message.
22 DEC – 20 JAN That prospective (or current) partner had better be serious in their intentions and be prepared to stick to their word. If you discover you have attracted a 10 x 8 glossy as opposed to the real thing, you will have no hesitation in discarding them and waiting for something more substantial to turn up. You may not have to wait long. Career opportunities beckon you higher up that ladder and you will find assistance from those in positions of authority or if you are seeking a mentor, you could connect to the person prepared to offer just that. Cultivate all your contacts - both existing and new as you could connect yourself to a hub of potential when it comes to your career ambitions. When you make it - pay it forward. Good karma comes from giving a hand up to those who deserve it.
20 FEB – 20 MAR You’re seeking that special soul who can meet you on all levels physical, mental and spiritual and if present company can’t connect with you on that higher realm you’ll attract someone who will. Temptation could be the name of the game this month. You may be more than usually susceptible to taking risks now, so watch out as a dash of subterfuge just adds to the excitement. Forbidden fruit? Just make certain you’re willing to pay the price for a taste no matter how sweet it is. If you want a rush then other kinds of adventure may prove to be a better option in the long term. Emotional matters around home and family peak at the month’s end. Let’s hope that’s not because your hand was caught in the cookie jar. Get a taste of excitement this month but remember - while temptation is hard to resist, keep it in moderation.
