Xeneta, the leading ocean and air freight rate benchmarking, market analytics platform and container shipping index, today announced the appointment of two new sales executives. Scott Irvine joins Xeneta as VP of Freight Forwarding and Laura Finbow will serve as Director of Sales Enablement. The announcement comes shortly after the fast-growing company acquired Amsterdam-based air freight data analysts CLIVE Data Services.

Appointment at Sunderland Marine Sunderland Marine, the fixed premium insurance division of North P&I, has appointed Mia Bredenberg as Australian Branch Manager, effective 31 January 2022. As part of the team, Ms Bredenberg will be primarily responsible for managing and developing Sunderland Marine’s insurance business in the region, covering the market-leading aquaculture and fishing, coastal, and specialist vessel teams. In addition, Ms Bredenberg will oversee the policy and operational direction of the branch and ensure compliance with Sunderland Marine’s financial services licence and other regulatory requirements.

Appointment at Wallem Ship Management Wallem Group has appointed Ioannis Stefanou as Managing Director of Wallem Ship Management, with responsibility for the oversight and strategic planning of the company’s ship management activities worldwide. Mr Stefanou joined Wallem Ship Management in April 2014 to lead its Technical Management, with a focus on delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective ship operations and technical services. He has also been integral to the development and execution of corporate strategy, with a particular focus on new product lines and the adoption of emerging technologies to benefit fleet efficiency and client services.

Brunswick Corporation has appointed Alexandra Cattelan as its Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. Ms Cattelan has over three decades of experience leading electric propulsion and advanced mobility programmes and organisations, most recently serving as Vice President, engineering, connected, controls, electrification and autonomous systems for Polaris Industries. Ms Cattelan will be responsible for continuing to advance Brunswick’s ACES strategy and for maintaining Brunswick’s position in the marine industry.

Brookes Bell has appointed Martin Twomey as Director of Brookes Bell USA to lead the company’s ambitious growth strategy in the region. Mr Twomey is a Chartered Marine Engineer with a First-Class Certificate of Competency and spent 18 years at sea sailing on LPG tankers, containers, bulk and reefer vessels. He then moved ashore to work in ship management with a major German shipowner before joining Brookes Bell in 2018. He has additional qualifications in marine surveying, naval architecture, drydock planning and management, oil, gas and petrochemical shipping.

German outboard manufacturer, Neander Motors, has announced its new Aftersales Manager, Benjamin Hopkins. With vast aftersales experience in the outboard industry with Suzuki and Mercury, Mr Hopkins will play a pivotal role in ensuring Neander’s aftersales service meets the high expectations required by professional operators. Mr Hopkins comments, “When approached by Neander, I was excited by the prospect of working with a talented group of professionals that are aiming to build a premium brand on the back of high-quality motors and service.”

Berg Propulsion has opened new offices in Istanbul to reinforce its presence in Türkiye and the surrounding region and provide closer support to local customers. The operation is taking responsibility for a range of activities, including new sales, contract management, product support and service. It is led by Mustafa Müslüm, who has been appointed General Manager, Berg Propulsion Eurasia. Mr Müslüm is very familiar with the Berg Propulsion organisation, having led regional activities on behalf of Berg Propulsion between 2005 and 2013 Istanbul and Dubai.
