"Today I was researching Gallerí Suðurgata 7 for a project I am working on. It was the most interesting gallery in Reykjavík from the late 1970s until the very early 1980s when it closed. The gallerí promoted conceptual art, Fluxus as well as painting. The gallery was very progressive and exhibited work by emerging Icelandic artists and established foreign artists such as aquarrels of Icelandic landscape by Peter Schmidt, Dick Higgins gave a performance and exhibited his art, Gabor Attalai, Robert Filliou and so on and so forth. As well as exhibiting work by Icelandic artists the aim was to promote foreign artists in Iceland and members of the group abroad and by doing so be active players in international art worlds."
