ell, summer's gone. It's time to say good-bye to the pool, our tans, and fun in general. We'll also have to put the mower away and try to get along without the money we were making. So, how does it feel to be back?

Yes, everything's the way It should be, I guess. In a few days last summer will seem like a long weekend which is now over, and we're back where we belong at W.H.S.

If the student weren't wearing the1r PJ's, they were dre ed as the oppo 1te sex. (And may we ay, Mr. Moore, you looked lovely!) Believe u , the competition didn't stop there. For the first time in W.H .S . h1 tory, each clas hung a banner in the gym with it year and all it ath¡ letes' names on it. The sophomore won the contest with their theme "Welcome to the Spt~rtan Jungle." Once Thursday rolled around, it was time to decorate the halls. The decorations varied tremendously, although all four were centered around popular phrases. The ophomores wei- (cont. below)

Varsity Soccer Team Well, another soccer eason is over; there's no more stretching, running, or practicing. This wa the team's first varsity sea on, and they did quite well: three win , thirteen losses and one tie. The guys al o played well in the tournament but were edged out by Edgewood 3-2.

No Returning Lettermen, But
Spartans Redefine Intensity

The 1990 Spartans had no returning lettermen, and thi lack of experience really hurt. There was, of cour e, no lack of intensity or enthusiasm. As a result, there were everal upsets of highly regarded teams like Madison Plains and Yellow Springs. Even when the team lost, the opponents knew they had been in a tough game. Coach Bunnell and the team represented the school well even though their record was 4- 17.

he French Club again put on an excellent dtnner in order to raise money for their annual trip. This wa the eleventh year in a row for the trip, which is the culmination of two year of preparation by Mr. Dillon (right) and his student They had ¡everal
other proJects during the year as well: the pastry booth, a bird seed ale, and a pig raffle. All of the e prOJects together raised over $8,000 . This amount paid for the night plus some other expenses.
