We all knew if they gave Brian Shuler a license something bad would happen. They made Brian tbe leader of tbe pack, and be wrecked. It was a good thing aU tbe girls knew bow to handle an emergency. Our skit couldn't bold up to tbe competition at tbe spirit week pep raUy, though; and we lost.
Out of their uniform and formal wear tbe junior homecoming attendants, Jason Bradley and KeUy Reedy, bad to attend this homecoming practice so aiJ went smoothly tbe njgbt of the big game.
She's been doing it for a long time and wiU probably do it for years to come. Every Junior class over tbe years bas been lucky to have Ms. Phillips as their class advisor. Sbe goes out of ber way every year to help raise money for the prom. Thank you Ms. P.

Marvin finally became "King PummiU" after dreaming about being called king for years. Susan Osborn was pleasantly surprised when she was named runner-up. Chi Meador and Pat Foley, 1992's King and Queen, were both able to join the ceremonies this year which is also a rare occasion. SUSAN OSBORN AND SEAN HICE

The 1993 Girls Volleyball Team finished a strong season 18 and 5. They also returned to the Nutter Center in District Finals. The team would like to take the time to thank those people who have stood by them through the good and bad times. First our coaches, you made us what we are. Mr. Weirauch, you have put up with a lot; and we are forever grateful. Remember, you're not only PRFSIDENT; you are a member. We would also like to thank the parents as they did the little jobs that meant so much. And, last but not least to our Bring it on, BABY! fans, you guys have stuck by us since the beginning. Thanks a million! The SENIORS would like to wish next year's team good luck. We will be with you both on and off the court. Memories last a lifetime.

" SENIOR HUG"
"What are you looking at?"
Coach Elizabeth Pardon
This was the first girls varsity soccer team here at WaynesviUe. The team did a remarkable job considering the number of players. It finished the season with a record of 12-3-1. The coaches were Elizabeth Pardon and Cheryl Richards. The team was led by four "remarkable" seniors: Jessica Butt, Jen Benson, Alyssa Boyd, and Jaime Oark. Everyone had to work very hard to accomplish the fine winning season. The team really proved itself against a tough Middletown Madison early in the season. It was a big win because we lacked in numbers and injuries, and we bad our work cut out for us. Regardless, the team proved to everyone that girls soccer bad a right to be acknowledged and the right to be a girls varsity sport. We're No. 1!

The Spartan Marching Band had a great year. They competed in numerous contests including two marching band contests, the district concert band festival, and solo and en emble. The band received an exceDent rating at both of the marching contests. The WaynesviUe band had the third highest overaU number of students selected for the District l3 Honor Band; and one member, Pete Lawrence, was selected for the Southwest Ohio Regional Orchestra. Twelve members received a superior rating at solo and ensemble contests. The band also participated in many exciting extras - Canadian Brass workshop and OSU concert. "Enthusiasm"

Best at the breast!
A family affajr.
It's probably the smallest team in the school. Three people strong the WHS Swim Team had a pretty good season. It started with the Southwest Oassic, the largest high school swim meet in the world. Every one of the swimmers placed in the top sixteen in at least one of their events. Zach Meixner swam four events and made finals in one. Jill Hartsock swam four and made fmals in aU of them. Jen Hartsock swam three and made fmals in aU of hers. With the Oassic out of the way, it was time for Sectionals. Zach swam the 100 yard breast stroke got 6th in the and butterfly. He breast and quali fled for Districts in it where he got 16th. Jill swam the 100 yard backstroke and tionals and got butterfly at Sec 2nd in the fly and 3rd in the back. She moved on to Districts in both where she got 12th in the fly and 11th in the back. Neither one of the juniors qualified for State, so Districts brought their seasons to an end. Jen, the only Senior, got her feet wet for the last time as a Spartan this year. She went into Sectionals swimming the 100 yard butterfly and the 500 yard freestyle. She placed 3rd in the free and was Sectional Champion in the fly. At Districts, she got 6th in the free and 2nd in the fly. Then at State, Jen got 7th in the fly. We will aU miss Jen, and wish her luck in the future.
Check out the BIG GUNS!
Ready to go.

We all knew it would happen to one of the teachers; we just did not think it would happen to Mrs. Vair. Everyone thought she really went crazy at the Winter Sports Banquet when she referred to the coaches as vegetables in what was thought to be her farewell speech, but she really means well. She dubbed herself a rose (because of her thorns not her beauty mind you) and then named each one of her girls the name of a flower, and flowers they are. While these flowers are the pride and spirit of the school, sports just wouldn't be the same without them. So, Charlie's Flower Garden, keep cheering and never stop smiling. Also, congratulations on your sixth place fmish at nationals.

THE ONES THAT The Lady Spartans basketbaU team faced a tough KTC this year, and some very tough non-league teams. Their main obstacle was not a new one. They were short. With Nicole Stiles (Train), the only true forward, the inside game and rebounding were difficult. The Spartans had to put the ball on the floor, drive, and make shots under pressure. With experienced senior guards Thea Cooper, Niki Kikta, and Kathy Wallace the shots fell when they were needed most.
Whenever a sure shot was needed, senior Nikki Schear was put in the corner to always pull through. Juniors KeUy Reedy and Jenny Foley both played key roles in the season. Anytime points were needed fast KeUy was sure to be shooting the three. Jenny played some key defense and pulled down a lot of rebounds that were badly needed. These seven pulled together to make a team without a record that shows the successful season they worked hard to create.

THE HUSTLERS The Spartan basketball team finished its season 4-18, but the record fails to do the team justice. The guys played hard and made Waynesville proud of them. The team was led by six outstanding seniors: Todd Daniels, Carl Gross, Sean Hice, Craig Morgan, T.J. Muselin, and Tony Pooler. The seniors helped build a good program and will be greatly missed next season. The following players received the coaches' awards at the banquet after the season ended. Mike Cessna was awarded the Best Defensive Player, and Adam Johnson went home with the Play Maker Award. Nate Garrett was presented the Best Underclassman A ward, Carl Gross, Best Free Throw Shooter, was named to the Warren County AU Star Team and was selected KTC Honorable Mention. T.J. Muselin earned Best Offensive Player and was also named to the Warren County All Star Team, the KTC AU-League Team, and Southwest District Special Mention. The team would also like to thank the coaches. Varsity Coach Mike Gordon returned for his second season. Coach Philpot and Coach McCloud play a big part in the success of the basketball program. One of Waynesville's alumnus made his coaching debut by helping with the team's conditioning and by being a mentor. This was none other than Tim Williams. Our hats must go off to the "Unsung Heroes" who've donated countless hours in support of the Waynesville athletics. We would like to recognize Larry Nelson, announcer; Gail Cook, scorekeeper; and Preston Griffith, timekeeper. Last but not least our sincere thanks and gratitude to the parents and families of all the players. Two Thumbs Up!!!!!!!!

The NHS Chapter was led by Nicole Stiles, President, along with Andy Franklin, Vice-President; Alyssa Boyd, Secretary; and Tammy Smith, Treasurer. The officers as well as the members have been very active this year. Our community project this year was adopting a needy family for the Christmas season. We also held a very successful blood drive in April to help replenish our nation's low blood supply. The chapter was well represented with nineteen seniors. In March the Waynesville National Honor Society Chapter inducted sixteen new members making the chapter have a total of forty-seven members. The highlight of the year is always the annual field trip in May. This year the chapter journeyed to the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History, Crohn Conservatory, and the Serpentine Wall at Sawyer Point where we bad lunch. Congratulations and Best Wishes to aU the SENIORS. A special thanks to Mrs. Linda Clark, NHS Advisor, for all of her hard work. We really appreciate it.

HITS, RUN, NO ERRORS The 1994 softball team was disappointed with a 5-10 record. The record doesn't reflect the talent nor desire of the team. Seven outstanding SENIORS have led the team for 4 years and will be greatly missed. Coach Ames and Coach Liffick are banging up their bats, too. The team will live on through the memories of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling," with Mini Winnie, and the famous roller coaster rides. Goodbye!

The varsity basebaU team bad an exciting season this year. It aU started with a four game trip to Atlanta, and we never looked back from there. While an occasional loss was picked up, aU the players learned from their mistakes and improved throughout the season. No, we couldn't have done half as weD as we did without the great group of freshmen that played varsity this year. The team ended up with a record of 11 and 9 with several people on the team receiving awards. Brad Hardyman, Todd Butterbaugh, and Gabe Plummer were selected to the AU-League team, while Mike Cessna and Jamin Adams were name Honorable Mention. Justin Gravitt, who pitched many exceUent games, was awarded the Outstanding Defensive Player, while Todd Butterbaugh, who batted .500 for the first half of the season was named Outstanding Offensive Player. Mike Cessna, who hit two home runs this season, was awarded the Pride, Hustle, and Desire plaque. Gabe Plummer, our only SENIOR, was also Honorable Mention for AU Dayton Area. We wish him the best next year. " Homerun King"

GIRLS TRACK The Lady Spartan track team this year may have been small with only 8 girls, but they proved they were not to be underestimated. Led by Coach Christine Tieman the team placed sixth in the KTC. Hard work and dedication led these girls to a successful season. Five out of the eight girls went on to Regionals. This accomplishment did not come easy. Hard practices

and long workouts helped them to be their best. With no seniors on the team, everyone will be back next year to continue the winning tradition. Special awards went to Ashley Hupe as Most Outstanding Runner; she broke the school and KTC record in the two mile. Kelly Chamblee received the award for outstanding field events.
