Navio sets Njogereza concert, as mother sets book launch next month T
here has never been a time in Navio’s entire music career that he has had a hit song so big like his Njogereza hit! Njogereza has gone places and it has taken Navio’s brand to the remotest areas across the country as well as to new heights globally! The blend of the local traditional kiganda beats, and Navio’s fluent flow in Luganda as he raps out the chain of his descendants while observing the cultural procedures got very many Baganda excited. Other music lovers, who know Navio as a majorly English rapper, were equally mesmerised. And this hit is worth every celebration. Well, Navio is set to hold a concert in honour of the Njogereza hit come September 9 at the Garden City rooftop. Details about performers and charges for concert will be out soon. In the meantime, we have also learnt that Navio’s mother- Dr Maggie Kigozi is also set to launch her inspiration book titled ‘Business is not optional- Breaking barriers’ sometime next month. Let’s just say, Navio and the mother have launches next month! And we wish them the best!
Former Minister Byandala drops to humble Toyota ist E
ven with his ongoing Katosi road scandal court troubles, we would expect former Works minister Eng. Abraham Byandala to live slightly a better life. Blame our thinking on his long service as a senior civil servant and later senior politician/ minister! Maybe we’re wrong; maybe the former Works minister is simply a simple man that lives leading a simple life. May be it was a one off. But we couldn’t hide our shock when we bumped into Eng. Byandala disembarking from a tiny Toyota ist! The MP headed to the Embassy building- opposite the Parliament main entrance. Well, one thing Eng. Byandala hasn’t overcome, is occupying ‘the assassination corner’ (usu-
ally the left side back seat). Not even the diminutive size of the car deterred the engineer from enjoying the back seat. Well, clad in a suit, Eng. Byandala disembarked from the silver grey ist and marched into the Embassy building without bother. Many should be wondering whether the legislator ever put to good use his ‘MP car funds’ he received at the start of his term in parliament five years ago.
Kassim Ouma back in the ring in Poland this Sunday K
assim Ouma has been around Lugogo and Naguru and his situation was not one to smile about! The former boxing champion often turned himself into a nuisance in every hangout he visited the past few months. But like the saying goes; ‘star taffa’ (a star never dies); all this didn’t seem to derail Ouma who was rumored to have been deported from the USA where he lived for decades and had earned himself a name as a boxer. Well, Ouma has proved that he is not about to fall; the fighter recently got booked for a fight in Poland, thanks to his younger brother Hamuza Wandera- also a boxer. Ouma is slated to face off with Polish boxer Kamil Szeremeta in a non-title seaside boxing show this Sunday. However, earlier this week, Ouma openly told friends via his Facebook page that he had actually not done any training ahead of the bout; “not even sparring,” he said. Now you know why he’s going to need your prayers!

Brandon Ssemanda said to be moving to Pepsi R
umor is ripe that one of the marketing managers at MTN Uganda Brandon Ssemanda might be on his way to seek greener pastures at Crown Beverages Ltd (CBL), the Pepsi franchise holders in Uganda. Brandon who joined the telecom from Coca Cola last August, is rumored to be the man that will be taking up
the Head of marketing job at CBL come next month. If the rumour turns out to be true, Brandon will be replacing former CBL marketing boss Innocent Tibiyeita who quit the company under unclear circumstances a few months back. Brandon’s move will label him as one of the most moving corporate honchos, having been to EABL, Airtel, Coca Cola and MTN in the past few years. All the best Brandon!
Dorcus Inzikuru causes stampede while buying bananas downtown D
orcus Inzikuru had a celebrity moment in downtown Kampala over the weekend. The former steeplechase Olympic winner had just finished her daily run when she decided to take a break and grab a yellow banana from a hawker at the famous Mandela fuel station along Ben Kiwanuka Street. However, a group of passersby noticed Inzikuru and they immediately started shouting out her name as they heaped praises on her. As a mob gathered around the former world champion, some members offered to pay up for all the bananas Inzikuru wanted; “you can even take the whole basket; you are our star,” they said. But away from the bananas, some members in the crowd demanded to know why Inzikuru was no longer
representing Uganda. Inzikuru gave her fans a ray of hope; she told them that she is back to training and she hopes to represent Uganda very soon; “I run from Entebbe airport to Kampala every day. I am sure I will be just in shape to represent Uganda at any upcoming competitions,” Inzikuru told her fans.
she recently decided to bid farewell to hiding her baby bump as she recently posted a pic showing off her baby bump on social media. Sheebah introduced Roger to her parents at a secret do last year and so far Roger has proved that he means business. Roger has children from two past relationships. All the best Roger and Sheebah.
