Studying with us

You will study in our industry standard training kitchens and gain experience of a real working environment in our award winning restaurant, The Waterside Brasserie. You’ll learn how to create delicious dishes in our fully equipped training kitchens and demonstration theatre and discover more about food preparation, cooking and food safety.

As part of your programme, you will also take part in fantastic work placements and community projects with local businesses and charities to gain real working experience in the sector.

Every T Level student will take an industry placement that lasts at least 45 days, helping you to gain valuable experience in the workplace and allowing employers to meet the new talent in their industry.

L1 Certificate in Culinary Skills / Certificate in Hospitality Assessment will be completed through a range of practical tests and short answer papers.

L2 Diploma in Culinary Skills

L2 Diploma in Food and Beverage Service

L3 Diploma in Professional Cookery (Kitchen & Larder or Patisserie & Confectionery)

L3 Diploma in Food & Beverage Supervision Assessment will be completed through a range of practical tests, short answer papers and assignments. 1 year

You will be assessed through observation (with appropriate witness testimony), short online testing and on-going assignments. 1 year

You will be assessed practically by an end exam. Evidence will include a wide range of dishes produced. Theoretical knowledge will be assessed through this process. 1 year
