There are a range of services that can assist families, young children and youth. They often work together.

Services for families includes some of the following:

• Pregnancy Care

• Child and Family Health

• Immunisation for infants, children and adolescents

• Vision Screening in preschool settings for 4 year olds (StEPS)

• Hearing screens for newborns (SWIS-H)

• Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Dietitian services (Allied Health)

• Child Protection Counselling Services

• Oral Health

EYESIGHT CHECK PRE-SCHOOLERS (STEPS)

The StEPS program is an initiative of NSW Health and offers all 4 year old children free vision screening. NSW Health advises all children to have their vision screened before they start school and strongly recommends that all four year old children participate in the vision screening program.

Done at preschools and child care centres.

NEWBORN HEARING SWIS-H

This program aims to identify babies born with significant hearing loss and introduce them to appropriate services as soon as possible. Testing is completed in the hospital soon after birth.
