Great People Make Favorite Places

BCC has created an actionable statement that helps define our philosophy known as The Simple Truth: Great People Make Favorite Places.

Staff Member of the Month

Sofia Ilustrisimo,

Lead Food Runner

Sofia has been a wonderful asset to the F & B team since she began her J-1 Internship with BCC. Sofia started as a server assistant and has worked in both the à la carte operation and in banquets. She has found a strong voice in the kitchen as Lead Food Runner. She always goes the extra mile staying late to make sure her station is clean and ready for the next person and asks to come in early to assist when she knows the team is short staffed. Sofia embodies the simple truth by being a truly great person, making BCC a favorite place for staff & members alike!

GREEN FOLDER STORIES

Brittany Lewis,

Food & Beverage Manager

Brittany has showed tremendous growth, strength, positivity and perseverance over a number of trying years here at BCC. She started with us right before the pandemic and through the pandemic, she rolled with the punches and helped find ways to stay connected to and help the membership. Over the past year, she has been instrumental in keeping the F & B team moving forward and staying organized! Throughout the past few months she has worked tirelessly and been extremely positive in working towards getting the new clubhouse open. We could not have done it without her!

Submit yourstory today!

Our staff members take every step to go above and beyond to accomplish our Simple Truth. Often, there are easy ways to make a positive impression on our members, from saying happy birthday or congratulations on an award, but not being afraid to make the big gestures is what sets us apart.

Let us know how you made a positive impact on a member, guest, vendor, or fellow staff member!

A LETTER FROM OUR GENERAL MANAGER KENT JOHNSON

Dear BCC Staff,

As valued members of the Baltimore Country Club family, I would like to personally thank each of you for your hard work and dedication during the past year of construction and the transition back to our Five Farms clubhouse. The amount of time and energy spent preparing for opening the newly renovated clubhouse is truly impressive and wouldn’t have been possible without your stellar performance and commitment to excellence.

Despite the fluidity and uncertainty of the construction timeline, we were able to host a successful Labor Day Celebration, three Soft Openings, our Grand Reopening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, and the 65th Annual Gentlemen’s Member-Guest Invitational while concurrently running À la Carte operations.

Each of you plays a key role in ensuring we are successful in meeting our mission, Simple Truth, and four Core Values. All of the Club’s achievements are made possible because of your individual efforts and efforts as a team. I am extremely proud of the product we can provide our members and guests: heartfelt hospitality and meaningful experiences.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have such an extraordinary, gifted, and creative team to work with. Once again, thank you for all you do to make BCC a Favorite Place for each other and our members and guests!

SPEAK LIKE A GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Collateral: any printed or digital material used to communicate with an audience

Copy: In marketing and publishing, copy refers to written material

Lorem ipsum: The industry’s standard for dummy text (since the 1500s) used as a placeholder in a design layout that will later be replaced with copy

RGB: An additive color model used for digital displays, made up of red, green, and blue

CMYK: 4-color printing process made up of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black

K: The color black in the CMYK color model. K stands for “Key Color,” which in printing is black

Vector: images made up of points, lines, and curves. All of the shapes are created using a mathematical equation, which means they will never lose their quality when scaling. A commonly used vector file format is an EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)

White Space: also known as negative space, area of a design left intentionally blank

BRANDING GUIDELINES

What are branding guidelines and what makes them so important to designers and a company’s brand? They set rules and guidelines to keep the general look and feel of the brand consistent. Keeping the branding consistent lets consumers instantly recognize the company. Theses guidelines can dictate logo usage, colors, typography, images, and more.

Explore BCC’s Branding Guidelines to learn more about how we maintain the BCC Brand.
