The Rise of the Rinsers We’ve all seen a sugar-daddy with a young lady attached to his arm. That old joke, ‘so what do you see in millionaire Joe Bloggs?’ springs to mind.

There’s a new breed of young lady who doesn’t even want to spend any time with their potential golden goose as all of it can be done on the internet and at arms length. It is no doubt safer for the lady and if rich men want to give them stuff for the odd email, then I don’t see much harm in it. These women are called ‘Rinsers’ and they use their feminine charms to get rich men to send them gifts and fund their lifestyles. Setting up Twitter and Facebook accounts the ladies offer virtual friendship for their wealthy admirers. These Rinsers will rarely meet their fans and if it brings some satisfaction to these wealthy men as well, otherwise they wouldn’t do it. Paying half in any divorce settlement to a wife must also weight heavy on their minds and so for a sum of a few gifts here and there perhaps you can see the attraction. Cartier gold watches, lavish holidays, boob jobs and as much designer goods that you can shake a stick at, the girls seem happy enough. ‘I do nice things for my friends and I don’t expect them to have sex with me’ says Rinser Jeanette. With their wish lists posted on their websites as well as their Amazon accounts, the girls can take in serious money. Danica Thrall, has taken in 20 grand in 3 months. ‘Guys have all kinds of fantasies and things that they find a bit of a turn on. And I think one of them is buying gifts for girls,’ she says. 42

menslifestylespain.com october 2012

Jeanette from Liverpool has been Rinsing for two years and has built up a large list of rich admirers including Manchester City striker, Mario Balotelli. Dressed to the nine’s in designer clothes all supplied for free. Their fans tend to be older business men and the odd divorcee. Younger males are a rarity apart from the odd footballer. It’s not all glamorous lives for these rinsers, some just want to be able to make ends meet. Hollie from Nottingham makes about a grand a month and sells any gifts she gets on ebay. ‘ What’s the point in scrimping and saving for all of your life when a muppet down the road is going to pay you £1,000 a month to live like a princess,’ she says. This lack of respect for their clients seems to prevail in most of the girls. Jeanette from Liverpool adds ‘I’m not doing anything wrong, I’m not breaking any laws. If people are going to fall for it it’s their problem... They’re stupid.’ Honestly, she continues ‘I didn’t realise there was

another way for us sisters nowadays, not quite prostitution but… a new breed of women called “Rinsers”. Why the hell am I going out to work for my money when I could sit on my lazy ass and get some rich man to buy everything for me. All I would need is a pair of fake boobs, orange tanned skin, long blonde hair and guess what? I wouldn’t have to sleep with them in return.’

quarters and feminist groups are already calling the whole process ‘demeaning’. But if both sides are happy with what they do then I can’t see the harm in it. It’s considerably more innocent (and romantic) than spending money on escorts. So is it empowering? To some extent yes. As long of the rinsers remember to store for the rainy days when their looks start to fade, then why not make the most of it? If they rely on money from the clients, overspend and get into debt then they’ll be heading for a fall. But that’s the same in all walks of life.

Oddly though she seems not to have cottoned on to her situation saying ‘I am a firm believer that women should be independent and never rely on a man for anything.’ Huh? So what do the men get from the rinsers? From all accounts, the odd Tweet or text message. The Rinsers themselves say there’s nothing sexual but in the days of the internet what does sexual really mean? No physical sexual contact? The majority of the rinsers won’t meet their clients, but some do for their special ones. Some of the rinsers work in the entertainment

Industry, featuring in the night-life of the largest cities in Britain and will make appearances in top city night clubs in order to drum up trade and give out their calling cards. These rinsers will no doubt get criticism from many different

I have a feeling that rinsers are here to stay. It’s early days yet and I think as these ladies get more professional, then any demeaning views of their clients will fade. The customer always comes first and they’ll soon know the difference between the different rinsers. The ones who continue with the ‘muppet’ outlook will fade away because there will be plenty of ladies only too pleased to receive gifts and money from their admirers. The customer is king and that’s the rule in all walks of life.

n e e w o l l Ha Vampire Diseases and other Weird Afflictions

Necrotizing Fascilitis This is a terrible disease. Fortunately it is very rare, but the mortality rate of 73% is another awful characteristic of it. It is caused by bacteria that enters the skin through the smallest paths, and once it gets in, it never gets out. The bacteria then starts to eat its way through the body. The skin looks rusty, but in extreme, even losing body parts is a possibility.

Pain from the sun There are people out there who go to great lengths to avoid the sun. If they are caught in the sun, their skin will blister. Some of them have pain and blistering as soon as the sun touches their skin. Ok, so they’re not actually vampires. They don’t drink blood and sleep in coffins, but they do suffer from a rare disease that has vampire-like symptoms

Walking Corpse Syndrome: they believe to have died It is a syndrome of mental depression and suicidal tendencies, in which the patient complains of having lost everything: possessions, part of or entire body, often believing that he or she has died and is a walking corpse. This delusion is usually expanded to the degree that the patient might claim that he can smell his own rotting flesh and feel worms crawling through his skin. The latter phenomenon is a recurring experience of people chronically deprived of sleep or suffering amphetamine/cocaine psychosis. Paradoxically, being “dead” often gives the patient the nation of being immortal.

Aquagenic Urticaria (water allergy) Commonly known as water allergy, although it’s not actually an allergy at all. It is a very rare disease in which the patient becomes sensitive to non-distilled water what means feeling great pain when in contact with it. The worst part is that they mustn’t cry if they don’t want their pain to grow, as tears have the same effect. Unfortunately, there’s no cure yet.

Hypertrichosis or Human Werewolf Syndrome This is a disorder which results in the growth of body hair that is particularly abnormal. There are two types of the disease: the first one shows hair covering certain areas of the body, the other one – the entire body. There is no cure that prevents the hair growth and all patients can do is try to remove the body hair by laser or hair removal products.

Exploding Head Syndrome If you thought this was when you feel like your head would explode when you had a headache, you were wrong. Patients with exploding head syndrome hear explosions, gunshots, screams and other noises, causing anxiety, fear and increasing heart rate. All of this happens 2-3 hours after falling asleep. Although this syndrome’s etiology is still unknown, there are some findings that it is related with stress and fatigue, so there are a lot of medicaments that clear the explosions the head.

UFO... a word which creates many different feelings. Unidentified flying object. They’ve amazed people for the last fifty years, they’ve been subject to varied speculation about what they are and they’ve featured in the entertainment industry for some of the finest films ever made.

46

menslifestylespain.com october 2012

In the 40’s and 50’s UFOs were all about ‘Invaders from Mars’ and how they crash landed at the bottom of your garden and how your parents would go down to check it out and they’d come back...changed. Those were the cool times...when you felt there really was something out there. But as you get older you soon realised that all that invaders from Red Mars was mirroring the fears of Red communism and it all became a bit dull.

So there were some people willing to testify to say that they had seen bodies at the site but who knows what they saw? What we do know is that the cover up by the authorities was so badly done that no wonder all sorts of speculation followed. An experimental weather balloon was blamed and a officer at the base was pictured showing some silver foil which was supposedly the crashed ship. Now there’s every chance that the whole event was an experimental craft crash landing and some bright spark thought they could cover it up by coming up with the crashed alien ship theory. It didn’t work. And the rest was history.

In the 60’s there were plenty of movies about space, but they were all about home made dangers, of Hal and the ship’s computer, or of man-made destroyed futures where apes rule the earth. The 70’s and 80’s brought some nice aliens with ‘Close encounters of the Third kind’ and ‘E.T the Extra Terrestrial’ and some particularly nasty aliens in the shape of ‘Alien’ and ‘The Thing’.

So what are they? Are UFOs anything to do with creatures from another world? Or are they based closer to home? I guess we should start at one of the most famous UFO cases of them all...

The Roswell crash In 1947, a press release was issued that a UFO had crashed out in the New Mexico desert, and that bodies had been found at the crash site. This is the founding moment of all UFO interest in the past 60 years. Subsequently denied after the incident, all mention of an alien craft let alone bodies inside was completely covered up.

Since then there have been dodgy ‘recovered’ film from the site and of alien autopsies which look about as convincing as any amateur student film would do. Hey if it makes a few quid then fair play...now where’s that camera?

But was this the first sighting? Well as it turns out, UFOs have been seen throughout history. Carved in hieroglyphs from Ancient Egypt, they appear in the background of renaissance paintings and are mentioned in a multitude of different writings throughout the ages. Some commentators have mentioned that the whole idea of Angels and Chariots in the sky are in fact early sightings of the UFO phenomena. With the advent of camera’s UFOs became easier to document and yet despite some pretty decent photographs people still deny that there’s anything strange going on. One of the most famous religious events in the last hundred years is the Fatima case in the 1920’s, where 3 girls went walking up in the mountains of Portugal and spoke to an ‘angel’ who gave them prophecies about the end of the world. This angel appeared 3 times and then flew off to the sky. Yeah right, you might say, this is just over religious kids wanting to get some attention. The problem with that though, is by the third visitation by the angel the crowd was up to about 20 thousand people and their description was more like an alien visitation than an angelic one. 47

So what are UFOs? There have been many different ideas and now we’ll go through these different theories and see what’s the most feasible.

in the sky. At first there’s panic but after 70 years of it doing nothing apart from sending out the odd bit of technology to benefit the world, the aliens finally reveal themselves and they look like an a typical ‘demon’ with red skin and horns. Because of the aliens good intentions and lack of threat , then people accept these creatures that look like demons without comment. If they had revealed themselves straight away then panic and hysteria would have resulted.

Natural phenomena Some people have talked about the UFOs being balls of light, which build up in the earths mantle through the movement of the fault lines. UFOs are often seen before and during the time of earthquakes and some researchers have concluded that this build of electricity creates the balls of light that are seen shooting around in the sky. Personally I think this can account for quite a few of the UFOs which are spotted in the skies. But it certainly does not explain all of them.

There are those who don’t believe in aliens. I’m not one of them. The statistics that our solar system is like a grain of sand and all the other solar systems make up the Sahara desert then the law of probability says that there must be some other life forms out there. As the Earth itself has 1.6 million different species then this can only further enhance that we are not alone. Part of the theory of the alien craft is that mankind has taken the technology and made it ours. Creating computers and television and all the cool stuff. I don’t buy that argument either because there were advancements on all our current technology way before 1947 and Roswell such as the work of Nicolai Tesla and others.

Alien craft So are these UFOs alien craft from another world? And if they are why land in the middle of nowhere and never seek human contact? Surely if you’re from another world you may want to speak to the leaders of the world you’ve travelled to? And landing in the back of beyond doesn’t seem the best way to do it. They surely can’t be that inept? There is a theory that they don’t land on the white house lawn because they don’t want to create mass panic. As they seem to be advanced beings (as they’ve travelled through the universe to get here) then they’re complying to some code of ethics on how to treat less advanced life forms. ‘Childhood’s end’ by Arthur C Clarke goes into this idea where a huge mother ship turns up and just sits there 48

menslifestylespain.com october 2012

The whole argument about the crashed alien craft is also undermined by the time scale. If we were back in 1947 and we were reading about the crash then we’d surely expect more and yet there’s been nothing in over 65 years. So for now we’ll put that one on the back burner.

The people most likely to see ufos are airline pilots who travel the skies for work According to some organisations like the ‘Disclosure project’; the majority of pilots see UFOs and they just don’t report them in any more. I guess it’s a similar process to Clarke’s Childhood’s End where they become so common place that they’re barely worth mentioning any more. There’s also the backlash of ridicule from the media and let’s face it the public as well who have been programmed into thinking the same way. So while most pilots now remain quiet incredibly there are up to ten thousand reports of sightings every year.

So from these reported sightings and taped sightings throughout the world it’s clear that something is going on. Most will be natural phenomena but not all. So what else could it be? Beyond Top Secret You may have read about the secret operation the Germans were undertaking before and during World War 2, culminating in the V2 rocket which if allowed to come into full production could have changed the direction of the war after D-Day and maintained Germany’s dominance of mainland Europe. Now all those scientists including Von Braun went off to either Russia or America and they became the foundation of both of the superpowers Space. What isn’t so well known is that the Germans also were developing technology based on the work of Nicolai Tesla which basically meant that they could fly vertically upwards and have incredible manoeuvrability. What’s interesting about all this is that these flying machines were shaped like a typical flying saucer, made famous in the 50’s and was the same shape as that which crashed at Roswell. There’s a US patent of what looks like a flying saucer registered in the 1920’s and as Tesla was the guy who created modern day electricity with the AC/DC current back in the 1880’s he went on to refine his ideas 40 years later. This ‘flying saucer’ took solid shape under the Germans in the 1940’s and for all we know that technology was taken to both Russia and the United States when Germany was defeated. That was in the 1940’s and if you look on youtube you can see these things flying off the ground, then there’s every chance that they became more refined in the last 60 years and these prototypes are what we’ve been seeing in the skies ever since. Defying

the laws of physics and moving vertically with incredible speed certainly describes what Tesla and the Germans after him were working on. So with this in mind, you have to ask yourself, why the need for secrecy about this new technology? Why bother with everyday technology such as air-planes, space shuttles and the like when you can use this advanced tec? We’ll probably never know but speculation will no doubt continue. The recent extradition process of Gary Mckinnon is in the news at the moment, and he also wanted to know if the ‘truth was out there’, so he hacked into the pentagon to look for any proof of UFOs. What he found is probably what got him in so much trouble as not only did he find lists of terrestrial officers, he also found a list of officers off planet and as we’re only supposed to have the international space station (and those officers were not on that) the seekers of the truth went wild.

First Contact As mentioned before, one of the main problems with the ‘alien craft crash lands’ themes is that the aliens have not made a reappearance afterwards. But some researchers would have you believe that they have and are currently speaking to ‘our leaders’ and have been doing do for decades. Timothy Good talks about how aliens were cooperating with the united states military on condition that no weapons were carried in their presence. This was fine until a young rookie freaked when he first saw the aliens and overreacted, the alien in the room killed him with a glance. Theories of UFOs connected with alien abduction are also rife in the alternative media, theories of deals to allow medical experiments on cattle have been mentioned. There is also a distinct possibility that these ‘abductors’ couldn’t care less for man made laws and they’ll just do their thing anyway. But that’s another tale.

Conclusion Judging by the theories of the 3 main areas of speculation about UFOs there is every chance that there is something behind all the three. That natural phenomena can explain a vast majority of the glowing orb variety of UFOs, that secret military aircraft such as stealth and the more advanced and speculative technologies could certainly explain the rest. But there will always be a tiny percentage of real unidentified flying objects and maybe perhaps maybe they’re visitors from another world.

next month: UFOs are closer than you think... the spanish connection... 50

Over the last few years, many celebrities and noncelebrities alike have been following the bizarre and unsightly fashion of ‘Sagging!’ So you’ve all seen the fashion videos and photo shoots where the male models show the make of whichever pants they’re wearing. Usually shot in black and white it’s all very tastefully done which spills over into the high street and all impressionable fashionistas wear the same. Armani, Hugo Boss etc. are all names to be connected with and ladies respond to them (wearing those cheap imitations from the Chinese with names like ‘Chang er’ seriously don’t impress!) So fair enough, you spend a bit on decent boxers so why not show the world that you’ve got em on? The problem kicks in when you go one step further, become a fashion victim and get into ‘sagging’. You’ve seen the teens walking around with trousers below their waist, revealing most of their underwear. Not only is their arse hanging out it’s probably one of the most stupid looking fashion styles ever. It really is a case of ‘the emperor’s new clothes’, while wearing something that you think looks cool and everyone else thinks you’re a fool. There are several different ideas for the origins of looking like a fool. Most of them come from prison 52

menslifestylespain.com october 2012

life. Prisoners are not allowed belts in order to stop inmates hang themselves and so their pants fell down, as many prisoners are supplied ill fitting clothes the whole ‘sagging’ look shows the mark of a man who has served time. The low slung pants then came from the ‘cool’ look of the inmate. Yep dead cool being incarcerated for life in San Quentin.

This was first popularised by Gangster Rappers like Ice T and Ice Cube in the 90’s, along with drive bys and drug use which also all went through the roof when it became ‘popular’. Malcolm X and Martin Luther Kings use of peaceful means didn’t get a look in. Good for prison business too. As each prisoner had to constantly hitch their clothes up this became part of their walk which in itself became part of the whole Original gangster theme.

Other ideas for the origin of sagging comes from the idea that it was in protest by others if another prisoner was unjustly put on suicide watch and put under restriction. The other prisoners would wear their trousers down low to protest the treatment of their friend. Another obvious explanation is their trousers are baggy to hide weapons if they’re doing their thing out on the streets. Another theory is of wearing the jeans so low to show you’re available to homosexual advances in prisons. Greg Mathis researched this and found that “those who pulled their pants down the lowest and showed their behind a little more raw, that was an invitation”. Straight convicts would tuck in their shirts and Latinos would pull their pants even higher up. It’s more likely to be the lack of belt theory which holds the most substance and over the years the whole look has become a symbol of freedom and cultural awareness for African American men. Because of its vulgar look it is said to be a ‘rejection of the values of mainstream society’.

Banned in a lot of schools as well as it went against their dress codes, resulting in some school suspensions. Some flights have also banned people dressed in their ‘arse bearing’ attire.

right? No more worrying about people running away when they’re jeans are tripping them up around their ankles!

In the most extreme case 20-yearold LaMarcus Ramsey was sentenced to 3 days in jail in April 2012, for showing up and as the judge remarked ‘showing his butt in court’. Brings a whole new meaning to ‘dumb ass’ I guess. All these attempts at banning the fashion have effectively failed. Some nice fines have been introduced and so at least some money goes back into the community but ultimately any ban only makes the thing in question even more popular as it now has notoriety as well. One thing to note though is that there’s no fashion designed around the clever criminals who get away with it. Even the limits of the fashion itself is well suspect. ‘Sagging’ must have been designed by the police

Multiple U.S. States has tried to ban ‘Sagging’ with varied success. Even the president Barack Obama got in the act and showed his dismay saying “brothers should pull up their pants. You are walking by your mother, your grandmother, your underwear is showing. What’s wrong with that? Come on. Some people might not want to see your underwear. I’m one of them.”

Cast: Alan Arkin, John Goodman , Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston, Scoot McNairy, Kyle Chandler.

Director: Sam Mendes. Genre: Action, Adventure, Thriller. About the film: Details of the new James Bond movie – ‘Skyfall’ – have been leaking gradually. What do we know? Most importantly, Daniel Craig will be back for more as 007, which is good news as, even if ‘Quantum of Solace’ was a disappointment for many, most Bond fans agree that Craig, who joined the party for ‘Casino Royale’, has brought new energy to the world’s oldest film franchise. We also know that the series’s third director in as many films: British film and theatre director Sam Mendes – best known for ‘American Beauty’ and ‘Revolutionary Road’ – takes over the reins from Marc Forster. Mendes and Craig have worked together before on ‘Road to Perdition’ and are known to have a good rapport. Known locations are Shanghai, Turkey and Duntrune Castle in Argyll, Scotland, while Judi Dench will join Bond newbies Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Ben Wishaw, Albert Finney and Ralph Fiennes in the cast. n

The Big Wedding Cast: Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, Robin Williams. Director: Justin Zackman. Genre: Comedy. About the film: ‘The Bucket List’ scribe Justin Zackham writes and directs this comedy about a divorced couple who pretend to be happily married for the wedding of their adopted son (Ben Barnes) and his fiancée (Amanda Seyfried). Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton take centre stage as the long-divorced pair while Robin Williams is the comedy priest and Katherine Heigl the disgruntled guest dismayed by the presence of her ex. Perhaps more promising is the casting of Susan Sarandon, who plays De Niro’s girlfriend Bebe. n

About the film: After ‘Gone Baby Gone’ and ‘The Town’, hopes are cautiously high for any Ben Affleck-directed film and this one has a strong true-story basis to boot. The setting is the 1979 Iran hostage crisis, during which the US and Canadian governments concocted a bold plan to free the six US diplomats being held hostage at their embassy in Iran. Affleck also stars alongside a stellar cast including Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Alan Arkin and others. n

Skyfall

Cloud Atlas

Cast: Daniel Craig, Helen McCrory, Javier Bardem.

Cast: Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Susan Sarandon, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess.

Director: Sam Mendes.

Directors: Tom Tykwer, Andy Wachowski.

Known locations are Shanghai, Turkey and Duntrune Castle in Argyll, Scotland, while Judi Dench will join Bond newbies Javier Bardem, Naomie Harris, Ben Wishaw, Albert Finney and Ralph Fiennes in the cast. n

Genre: Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi. About the film: An exploration of how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future, as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution. n

Frankenweenie Cast: Charlie Tahan, Winona Ryder, Martin Landau, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short. Director: Tim Burton Genre: Animation, Comedy. About the film: Tim Burton has spent 2011 making two new films. The first is being shot in LA, a live action film starring Johnny Depp which (per early production stills) displays an uncanny resemblance to ‘The Addams Family’. The other is being shot in the UK, a stop-motion animation that’s a remake of his controversial first short made for (and shelved by) Disney in 1984, ‘Frankenweenie’. Having visited the set of the film, Time Out can confirm that all the immaculate craftsmanship that went in to films like ‘Corpse Bride’ and ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ remains in this feature-length retooling of a story about a young boy who discovers a way of bringing his dog, Sparky, back to life after he’s killed in a car accident. Considering the massive toil of making the film, it’s not due to his cinemas until the end of 2012, but what we can deduce from the snippets we’ve seen so far is that it looks like it could be Burton’s best in a very long time. n

Marlon found the stray wandering around the Paramount Lot just before the scene was shot. • In the movie Toy Story, the carpet designs in Sid’s hallway is the same as the carpet designs in “The Shining.” • In The Great Escape, the cast includes one genuine WWII PoW in Donald Pleasence, who had been shot down during a raid on Agenville and imprisoned for a year in a Stalag Luft, where he produced and acted in plays. • In Black Swan, Natalie Portman dislocated her rib during production and discovered that the film’s budget was so low they couldn’t afford a medic. The actress gave up her trailer so one could be hired.

Local man hits the Big Screen Friend and local Marbella resident, Kim Kold has hit the big screen. Formerly head of security for a Costa del Sol security firm, Kim has made it big by landing a role in the new Fast & Furious 6 due for release in 2013. He has also been signed up to star in Fast & Furious 7 which is a prequel to Fast & Furious 6. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson return for the next instalment of Universal’s car-racing/heist franchise. Dominic (Diesel), Brian (Walker) and the crew find themselves on the wrong side of the law once again as they try to pull off a high-octane heist on the streets of Europe with federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) hot on their tails. Make sure you keep an eye out for Kim who you’ll find hard to miss (he’s the one who makes Vin Diesel and ‘The Rock’ look small in comparison), as this will hopefully be the beginning a great movie career for him.

Good Luck Kim!
