Football Manchester City v Everton

Since Arsenal’s thrashing of West Ham at the beginning of October, Arsenal have gone off the boil. Arsene Wenger has been doing his best at keeping up morale but the team have lost their confidence. Whether this is down to losing Robin Van Persie or uncertainty over Theo Walcott’s future is anyone’s guess. Both of these teams flatter to deceive as one minute they can be brilliant and then the next...not so much. I think Swansea have a chance of getting a point here and so I’ll go for 1-1. Theo Walcott

Fulham v Tottenham Hotspur

This should be an excellent match as both sides are in good form and while Fulham are good at home, Spurs are good away. This could go either way but I think there will be quite a few goals, both might settle for a draw though so I’ll go for 2-2.

Liverpool v Southampton Luis Suarez

6

After their initial struggles, Liverpool are beginning to show a little bit of form (thanks mainly to Luis Suarez) and despite them being better away from Anfield than at home, I can’t see Southampton getting anything here. 2-0 to Liverpool.

FIXTURES & PREDICTIONS

Arsenal v Swansea City

Premiership

SATURDAY 1ST DECEMBER

Saturday 1st Sunday 30th December 2012

This is a tough game for City as Everton have started at lightning pace and look good to challenge for a top four place. City have severely missed their playmaker David Silva and when he was out injured City looked unsure. With a fully fit Silva back and as this game is at the Etihad, I’ll go for a close affair with City just nicking it by a goal. 1- 0 to City.

Queens Park Rangers v Aston Villa

Even with only a quarter of the season gone QPR look doomed all ready and it’ll take a miracle for them to survive. That might come in the form of Harry Redknapp after Mark Hughes was sacked off. Redknapp has admitted that this is one of the toughest jobs he’s ever undertaken but he has got previous for saving clubs from relegation with Portsmouth and Spurs and he has the type of personality to give hope to the flailing players of QPR. Once a mindset becomes the norm though then it’s hard to break and QPR are still in the loser category. Villa aren’t much better but new boss Lambert have instilled a better way to play and so they’re a better outfit than last year and the new manager has shown some guts by dropping Bent to the bench. Still see a draw here though which doesn’t really help either side. 1-1.

Reading v Manchester United

Relegation candidates Reading meet Premiership challengers Man United at home, and though Reading might put up a decent fight, I can’t see them stopping Man United scoring and winning. With Robin Van Persie, Chicarito and Rooney I see a 0-3 win for United.

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

Steve Clarke

Wow...West Brom are the team of the season so far. With Steve Clarke at the helm they continue to be pleasing on the eye and get results. They will fall short of a Champions league place but if they continue to play as they have done this season I see no reason why they can’t challenge for Europe. Here they play Stoke who have had a typical season of being strong at home and weaker away and I think that pattern will continue today with West Brom winning 1- 0.

West Ham United v Chelsea

A tricky game for Chelsea and new boss Rafa Benitez as Big Sam has turned West Ham into a decent unit. With a nice mix of experience and youth, West Ham already look safe from any relegation issues and now they can look at ending up on the top half of the table. Can see a draw here though. 1- 1.

SUNDAY 2ND DECEMBER Norwich City v Sunderland

Norwich have improved their fortunes after a shaky start and the Chris Houghton effect is beginning to show. Belief from a continuation of decent play under Lambert last year means that Norwich have every chance of finishing mid table. Sunderland surprisingly have problems and where they’re usually firmly placed in the top 10 and challenging for Europe they find themselves just outside the relegation zone. I think Norwich can just about do enough to win this one. Probably 1-0. Chris Houghton

MONDAY 3RD DECEMBER Newcastle United v Wigan Athletic

Wigan have shown that they mean to stay in the premiership this term and have realised that the chance of a great escape a second time is pushing their luck. Newcastle haven’t sparkled the same as last year and whether this is down to other teams treating them with more respect or Newcastle not playing as well as last season is open to debate. Personally I’d say they’re not playing to the same standard.... yet. But they have enough talent in the squad to turn it around and I think they’ll win this game 1-0.

SATURDAY 8TH DECEMBER Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion

The nice thing about this season so far is even though the big clubs can continue to win, there are no more easy wins in the league and every club is fighting, and makes for a stronger league in the long run. Now normally on paper this would be a home win for Arsenal, but with West Brom currently playing well and at times this season above Arsenal in the league then this game could go either way. I’ll go for a draw though 2-2.

Southampton v Reading Both teams are relegation candidates and of the two, Reading are a better side. They’ve been unlucky a couple of times not to get wins and I can see them having a go here. Will probably be a goalless bore draw though. 0-0.

Sunderland v Chelsea

Sunderland have been having problems and some things are not quite right at the stadium of light. Chelsea have been excellent on their travels and I expect them to get a win here as well. Close affair though 1-2.

Swansea City v Norwich City

Both teams like to play good football though I think Swansea have a little too much for Norwich, especially at home. So I see the Swans winning 2-1.

Wigan Athletic v Queens Park Rangers

Wigan can get some much needed points on the board here as QPR have become the whipping boys at present and everyone will fancy improving their goal tally. Wigan at home can beat a lot of teams on their day and as QPR are awful away from home, I don’t see an upset here. 2- 0 to Wigan. Roberto Martinez

West Bromwich Albion v Stoke City

Aston Villa v Stoke City

Villa are playing better than last season and were unlucky to lose against Manchester United a couple of weeks ago when they were 2- 0 up. So if they can play like that they have a chance against Stoke, especially as it’s at home. 1-0 to Villa.

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

7

Top game and everything to play for. United have been playing better this season and City slightly worse, so I don’t expect a repeat of the 6 – 0 thrashing of last season. Robin Van Persie has transformed United and Rooney no longer finds himself indispensable. But then with the likes of Silva, Tevez, Aguero etc you can never rule out the Champions, especially at home. I’ll go for a 1-0 win for City.

Everton v Tottenham Hotspur

Everton are good at home and Spurs have been pretty decent away. So this might be a humdinger of a match. Everton will fancy it but Spurs may do enough to get a draw. Both will be happy with a point. 1 -1.

Fulham v Newcastle United

Fulham have been good at home and they’ll prove a tough nut to crack for Newcastle. I think Fulham will edge it tonight and the end score will be 2-1.

TUESDAY 11TH DECEMBER Sunderland vs Reading

A good game for Sunderland to get some points on the board and get back to winning ways. A long trip for Reading to the Arctic north east and they’ll come back with nothing from this game. Sunderland to edge it 2-0. Martin O’Neill

Carlos Tevez

Manchester City v Manchester United

MONDAY 10TH DECEMBER

This game will of course be all about Andy Carroll. One of Liverpool’s main problems this season has been lack of strikers and letting your 35 million man go out on loan without getting a replacement was probably one of the most laughable cockups in football for many a year. For some reason Carroll doesn’t fit into the Rodgers mindset, despite him saying that everyone had a chance, and Carroll will want to show what his own team is missing. Liverpool are good away though and so I’ll go for a 1-1 draw.

United have been extremely strong at home and I can’t see Sunderland getting anything but a hiding here. 3-0 to United.

Newcastle United v Manchester City

These are the games City need to win to retain their title and with Newcastle not as good as last season City could just edge it. 1-2 to City.

Norwich City v Wigan Athletic

Norwich will give Wigan a good game and this might result in quite a few goals. Both sides defences aren’t the best and it could be a cracking open game. 3-3 draw.

Queens Park Rangers v Fulham

SATURDAY 15TH DECEMBER West Ham United v Liverpool

Manchester United v Sunderland

Robin Van Persie

SUNDAY 9TH DECEMBER

Chelsea v Southampton Chelsea welcome Southampton with open arms as they’ll be fancying a few goals to slot past their visitors. If the league is going to be anything like the last season, then points difference can mean all the difference and I see Chelsea winning 5-0 here.

A local derby and QPR will be desperate for any sign of hope. Fulham have been good on the road and QPR diabolical all season, but with Harry Redknapp they at least have a chance and they’ll put up more fight. Maybe a draw here. 1 -1.

Stoke City v Everton

Good game with both teams playing to their strengths. Stoke will try to stop Everton’s midfield and catch them on the break. I see a draw here 1-1.

SUNDAY 16TH DECEMBER Tottenham Hotspur v Swansea City

Liverpool v Aston Villa

Liverpool will want to continue their better run of late and as Villa haven’t really been too impressive away from home, Liverpool should just edge this. 1- 0 to Liverpool.

Spurs should edge this one simply because it’s at White Hart Lane. Swansea won’t be intimidated though and as both teams play good attacking football it’ll be a decent game to watch. Spurs to win it though 2-1. Andres Vila Boas

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

Both teams have been playing out of their skins and are already challenging for European places. Both sets of fans must be very happy with their teams form but I think West Brom are at home and play a better style of football, so I’ll go for a West Brom win 1-0.

Southampton v Sunderland

A long trip for Sunderland might mean a chance for some points for Southampton and as Sunderland haven’t been very good on their travels then if Southampton keeps it tight, then they have a chance at winning 1-0.

MONDAY 17TH DECEMBER Reading v Arsenal

A quick drive down for the Arsenal fans and they’ll want an away win tonight. They’ll get one too as I haven’t seen anything from Reading this season to suggest that they can beat Arsenal. Arsenal to win 0-2.

SATURDAY 22ND DECEMBER

Tottenham Hotspur v Stoke City

Stoke will make it difficult for Spurs and it’s up to the hosts to deal with the rough stuff. If they can’t then they’ll buckle and lose today. Losing today will also put them out of the running for the Champions league places. It’s do or die I’m afraid and I think Spurs will pass the test. 1- 0 to Spurs.

Liverpool v Fulham

This is a hard game for Liverpool, mainly because ‘Fortress Anfield’ has been breached a long time ago. Fulham have been good on their journeys and they’ll prove a difficult team to beat. So I’ll go for a 1-1 draw.

Manchester City v Reading

Reading turn up on damage control as they won’t want to let in too many goals. They will though and it’ll be something like 3-0.

Newcastle United v Queens Park Rangers

A tough away game for Norwich with West Brom in fine form under Steve Clarke. West Brom have been changed from a fairly average unit capable of the odd shock or two under Hodgson to a fine attacking unit under Clarke. West Brom to win 2-0.

West Ham United v Everton

Newcastle will want to have a happy xmas and the visit of QPR is a perfect gift. Newcastle will have the home crowd baying for blood and Cisse and Ba will want to give a good account of themselves as at least one of them may be leaving in the January transfer window. Newcastle to win 3-0. Alan Pardew

West Bromwich Albion v Norwich City

SUNDAY 23RD DECEMBER

Carlton Cole

Swansea City v Manchester United

Swansea will want to prove a few points and their manager Michael Laudrup will be sure to have planned for this game for awhile. United like playing teams who try to play against them, as this opens the game up and creates chances for either side. I can’t see Swansea beating United but I could Michael see a draw of 1-1. Laudrup

Chelsea v Aston Villa

Chelsea will want to go into the Christmas season with another win under their belt and they’ll be given the chance with the arrival of Villa. Chelsea at Stamford Bridge have been strong this season and I doubt Villa will score let alone get points. 2-0 to Chelsea.

WEDNESDAY 26TH DECEMBER Arsenal v West Ham United

A London derby with both teams having much to prove, strangely Arsenal have been shown to be vulnerable before their annual melt down in February and West Ham have over achieved since their promotion. This game will be tight with no quarter given but I’ll still go for an Arsenal win. 1-0.

Arsene Wenger

West Bromwich Albion v West Ham United

Everton are a better side than West Ham but the hammers will do everything they can to snuff out the toffees potent midfield. They’ll try but I still think Everton will come out as winners. 0-1 to Everton.

Wigan Athletic v Arsenal There could be a surprise here, because as good as Arsenal are, they can be a little vulnerable on the road. I’ll go for a draw 1-1.

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

9

Queens Park Rangers v West Bromwich Albion Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur

Villa could make things difficult for Spurs here and they might just catch them a little tired after the Xmas festivities. I’ll go for a 1-1 draw here.

Everton v Wigan Athletic

Everton should be full of Xmas cheer as they ride high in the league in which must be one of their best years in decades. Wigan will have a go but they won’t get anything out of this game. 2-0 to Everton.

Fulham v Southampton

Fulham have been excellent at home and with their manager Jol signing a new contract, his positive work on the club will continue. Southampton have been outclassed for most of the season, yet despite this, have played well occasionally especially against the big boys. Fulham though should have no problem here, 2-0 to Fulham.

Manchester United v Newcastle United

A great game on paper and a year ago Newcastle might have fancied their chances. But a year on Newcastle aren’t firing on full cylinders and Manchester United have got a little better. Manchester Alex Furguson United to win 2-1.

Norwich City v Chelsea

Norwich have been good at home and will give Chelsea something of a challenge at least, I still don’t see any other result though apart from a Chelsea win. 0-1. ki

Lucas Podols

10

Realising that they’re fighting for their lives now, the Qpr players know the stat that the team bottom at Xmas usually gets relegated. West Brom will suffer a tough game here and so I think i’ll go for a draw despite form says West Brom. 1-1.

Reading v Swansea City Reading also know that they have every chance to lose their premiership status and with Swansea arriving they’ll want to show that they can compete in the league. Swansea might edge it though. 1-2 to Swansea.

Stoke City v Liverpool

Stoke have been a bugbear for Liverpool in recent years, losing precious points for the scousers in their time of need for qualification to the Champions league and more importantly losing out on the league title back in the 2008-2009 season. With no new striker in place yet for Liverpool, they’ll probably have to end up settling for a point here. 0-0 draw.

Sunderland v Manchester City

Sunderland welcome City and might just get a point here. The Stadium of Light is a problem venue at the best of times and Sunderland might just grab a point. 1-1.

Aston Villa v Wigan Athletic

Both teams can win this and it depends who turns up and what they’re mindset it. Villa should be favourites as they’re at home, but Wigan might just catch them unawares. 0-1 to Wigan.

Fulham v Swansea City

Either team can score goals and both will fancy the win...I’m expecting a few goals and I think both teams will have to settle for a draw. 2- 2.

Manchester United v West Bromwich Albion

Now this game is an interesting test for both sides, Manchester United will want to slap West Brom back into place and West Brom will want to beat Fergie’s men and prove a point that they mean business this year. I’ll go for a draw here. 1-1.

Norwich City v Manchester City

This should be a cake walk for Manchester City but a trip to East Anglia can prove tricky. Both sides will huff and puff and then Dzeko will get the winner in the 88th. 0-1 to Manchester City. Edin Dzeko

SATURDAY 29TH DECEMBER Arsenal v Newcastle United

This should be an excellent game with the some terrific attacking talent on display. This should be a very open game with plenty of good football and though normally this ends with a goalless draw, I think both teams will go for it so as to prove something to themselves and their potential challengers. Arsenal to win 2-1.

Reading v West Ham United

I can’t see anything more that a West Ham win here. Reading are doomed and West Ham have enough experience to win through in the end. 0-1 to the hammers.

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

Stoke City v Southampton

Stoke are strong at home, Southampton are weak away. Nuff said really and Stoke will win this one, 2- 0.

Sunderland v Tottenham Hotspur

Potentially tricky for Spurs and this depends if Sunderland have turned a corner and have started playing to their strengths again. I’ll go for a ‘shock’ win for the home team 1-0.

SUNDAY 30TH DECEMBER Everton v Chelsea

A cracking game which could go either way, Everton have proved this season that they’re good enough to beat anyone and they might just catch Chelsea out as well. I’ll go for an Everton win 1-0.

Queens Park Rangers v Liverpool

The bells of doom are already ringing over QPR and they need to start picking up points. They’re not going to do so here, though and Liverpool should sneak a win 0-1.

Champions League Fixtures and Predictions TUESDAY 4TH DECEMBER

4th - 5th December

WEDNESDAY 5TH DECEMBER

Group B

Group E

Olympiacos v Arsenal

Chelsea v FC Nordsjaelland

I’m assuming that Arsenal have beaten Montepellier in their last game and that Schalke beat Olympiakos. If so then Arsenal have qualified anyway but if Arsenal are to win this one they have a slight chance (if somehow Schlake lose to Montpellier) of ending top of their group. I’ll go for 0-1 to Arsenal. Group C

Malaga v Anderlecht

Malaga have done superbly so far in their debut in the Champions League and if they get at least a draw in this game they’ll win the group and so miss the ‘big boys’ in the knockout stages. With little two play for and playing away, I think Anderlecht will be beaten 2-0 by Malaga.

A must win game for Chelsea as they can’t afford to take their eye off the ball as Shakhtar Donetsk and Juventus are on similar points. Luckily for Chelsea they meet Nordsjaelland who have already been eliminated and have been beaten fairly easily by all in their group. I’ll go for a 3-0 win for Chelsea.

Group G

Celtic v Spartak Moscow

Celtic have been brilliant this season and by beating Barcelona they have every chance to qualify for the next round. Considering that Benfica and Spartak Moscow are the other teams vying for that place behind Barcelona, and if Celtic win at home tonight then they have every chance to do so. 1-0 to Celtic.

Group H

Man United v FC Cluj

United have easily qualified in probably one of the easiest groups ever to exist in the Champions league and now they can put their youngsters out to play tonight, as it doesn’t even matter if they lose. Fergie can rest his players knowing that the hectic Christmas period is approaching. United’s youngsters will probably still win though, so I’ll go for 2-0 to United.

Group D

Dortmund v Man City

Manchester City have blown it in this Champions league campaign and though at times they’ve looked good (when in the lead against Real Madrid) they seemed to shoot themselves in the foot when it really mattered. Unless Real Madrid lose their last 2 matches then City will be eliminated and they’ll be playing for pride. Dortmund have been extremely good so far and they’ll want to end up top of the group, so I think they’ll go on and win this one. 2-0 to Dortmund.

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

13

Chelsea will want maximum points and where better to find it on a New Year than in the guise of QPR. At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have been imperious and they’ll slot at least 3 past QPR today. 3-0 to Chelsea. Eden Hazard

Liverpool v Sunderland

Both teams have had their run ins with each other in the past few seasons and I think this will test the character of both. It’ll probably end up as a draw though so I’ll go for 1-1.

Manchester City v Stoke City

Manchester City should win this quite comfortably at the Etihad. Stoke I think might be found out in this one and lose 2-0.

Newcastle United v Everton

Excellent game with Everton going into the game as favourites. But two seasons ago, Newcastle turned a corner right about now and improved for the rest of the season. Ba may have left for another club but they still have a fairly decent strike force so this will probably end in a draw 1-1. Felliani

14

FIXTURES & PREDICTIONS

Chelsea v Queens Park Rangers

Premiership

TUESDAY 1ST JANUARY

Southampton v Arsenal Southampton will do their utmost but class tells in the end and I think Arsenal will score a hat full. 0-3 to the Arse.

Swansea City v Aston Villa

Swansea must fancy their chances here as they’ll be at home and playing well. Villa have blown hot and cold this season but at least they’re playing as a team now, rather than just dour as they were under McCleish. Swansea to win this 2-1.

Tottenham Hotspur v Reading

Reading will find Spurs a tough one to crack and as they’ve shown no real flair this season, I expect Spurs to walk this one. 3-0 to Spurs.

Tuesday 1st Wednesday 30th January 2013 West Bromwich Albion v Fulham Both teams are in form and both will try to win. West Brom are good at home and Fulham good on their travels. But I think I’ll go for a shock win for Fulham. 0-1.

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

SATURDAY 12TH JANUARY Aston Villa v Southampton

Villa should get some much needed points here as they meet Southampton. Things will be getting pretty desperate for Southampton now and they’ll get more so after this result. 1-0 to Villa.

Everton v Swansea City West Ham United v Norwich City

I can’t see the canaries getting anything from this game as West Ham are pretty unforgiving at home. Fair play to Allardyce though this season, as he had plenty of critics last season for the style of football he plays. With promotion from the Championship, West Ham have gone from strength to strength and they’ll win this game too. 2-0 to West Ham. Sam Allardyce

This should be an entertaining game and with both sides playing well there might be some goals as well. Everton to win but only just... 1-0.

Fulham v Wigan Athletic

Another good game with a potential for goals. Fulham are strong at home and I can’t see Wigan getting a result here, so I’ll go for 2-0 to Fulham.

This could be an interesting game as both teams play attractive football and they like to attack. I’ll go for Newcastle though, as I think they may just have too much for Norwich to deal with. 1-2 to Newcastle.

Wigan ‘welcome’ Manchester United and if Wigan don’t keep it tight, Manchester United should win easily. I think it will be closer than that with Wigan scoring at least once and Robin Van Persie scoring the winner for United. 1-2 to Manchester United.

Tricky game for Chelsea as Stoke will throw everything including the kitchen sink (if they can get away with it) at Chelsea’s creative players. Watch for plenty of hack downs on Chelsea players and loads of moaning from Stoke manager Tony Pulis about any other event apart from Stoke’s fouling. It will probably work as well and i’ll go for a draw. 1-1.

Sunderland v West Ham United

Underachiever meets overachiever, and never the twain shall meet. I expect a result here and as it’s at home, I think Sunderland will scrape a win. 1-0 to Sunderland.

SUNDAY 13TH JANUARY

Norwich City v Newcastle United

Wigan Athletic v Manchester United

Stoke City v Chelsea

Man Utd v Liverpool

Top game and these never seem to not give entertainment. Both sides clearly hate (and admire) each other and the whole season fades into insignificance when these two meet. Manchester United have been better this season, and Liverpool have struggled for goals, so unless Liverpool have already brought in a player like Huntelaar or Ba, then they’ll continue to play well and only get draws. 1-1. e

Robin Van Persi

Papiss Cisse

Reading v West Bromwich Albion

Reading meet in form West Brom and they’ll not win this game. But they might just get a point in their struggle against relegation. 0 – 0.

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

15

Arsenal v Man City

Nice day of football today as the second games feature two other giants. Man City arrive at the Emirates and they’ll want to end any hope that Arsenal still has for the title. I think they’ll get the win and in the end quite easily. 0-2 to City.

Newcastle United v Reading

Newcastle will want the three points against one of the minnows and they’ll get them with Reading losing here 2-0. Collo cini

SUNDAY 20TH JANUARY Chelsea v Arsenal

Another Super Sunday for us to enjoy with 4 of the top potential six meeting each other. Chelsea host Arsenal and while Wenger’s men will huff and puff, Chelsea will do just about enough to win 2-1. Rafa Benitez

Swansea City v Stoke City Edin Dzeko

MONDAY 14TH JANUARY QPR v Tottenham

Every game now is a final for QPR and this game is as tough as it gets. Spurs will want to put a nail in the coffin of their local rivals and barring some miracle, they’ll win quite comfortably. 1-3 to Spurs.

A game of contrasting styles and with Stoke trying to kill the game and score on the counter, Swansea will have to match them physically. If they do then they could win this game, but I think it will head for a 1-1 draw.

West Bromwich Albion v Aston Villa A local derby where form goes out the window. West Brom on paper should win at a canter but Villa have pride to play for and local bragging rights. Still going for West Brom though 1-0.

Tottenham v Man Utd

Spurs meet United and they will give them a game. At Old Trafford, Spurs have already beaten United and so United will want some revenge. They’ll get it too winning 0-1.

SATURDAY 19TH JANUARY Alex Furguson

Liverpool v Norwich City Liverpool thrashed Norwich earlier in the season, so Norwich arrive with a point to prove. They’ll still lose though and in the end it will be 2-0 to Liverpool.

Manchester City v Fulham

This should be a great game with Fulham away specialists. This is a tricky one and an early goal might seal it. Still going for City though 2-1.

16

West Ham United v Queens Park Rangers

Another local derby finds QPR travelling to West Ham. This may be the last time they meet as well for a few years, as QPR look down and out and West Ham won’t give them any help here either. 1-0 to West Ham.

Wigan Athletic v Sunderland

MONDAY 21ST JANUARY Southampton v Everton

A cold January evening sees Everton come down from the frozen northern wastes to the milder climate on the south coast. It’ll feel like they’re on a picnic and they’ll stroll through the night winning 0-2.

Wigan will fancy a win here as Sunderland have looked strangely vulnerable. There seems to be a lack of belief, which is surprising as they’re led by Martin O’Neill. Wigan to win 1-0.

menslifestylespain.com december 2012 / january 2013

Queens Park Rangers v Manchester City

TUESDAY 29TH JANUARY Arsenal v Liverpool

2 evenly matched teams who play good possession football. If Liverpool have sorted out another class striker who slots in quickly, then they may just win here. I’ll go for a draw though as reason demands. 1-1.

So you’re sitting in the relegation places, and next on your list of games, are the Champions. Never mind, might as well give your young players a game because your older ones certainly haven’t been performing. 0-2 to City.

Reading v Chelsea

Relegation beckons for Reading and Chelsea will help them towards that end. Chelsea are too good to slip up at Reading and the final result will be 0-2.

Brendan Rodgers

Stoke City v Wigan Athletic

Stoke will get some points here as they meet Wigan and they’ll just about edge the game 1-0.

Aston Villa v Newcastle United

Villa could get a surprise win here as Newcastle are caught sleeping. This will be a close game and be decided by the odd goal. Villa to win 1-0.

Sunderland v Swansea City

Swansea will win here and put further pressure on Martin O’Neill. O’Neill will have until the end of the season to improve things otherwise he might find himself out the door. 0-1 Swansea.

WEDNESDAY 30TH JANUARY Everton v West Bromwich Albion

Manchester United v Southampton

Oh dear, Southampton looking for points and who do they face now? Manchester United at Old Trafford. They may as well play for some pride and make sure their goal difference doesn’t change too much. It could be a 6- 0 but I think Southampton will fight enough to limit it to 3-0.

Norwich City v Tottenham Hotspur

DOES YOUR BAR SHOW THE FOOTBALL?

This should be a good entertaining game of football and both teams will go for it. Everton should win but I have a sneaking suspicion that West Brom will get a draw. 1-1.

Steve Clarke

Fulham v West Ham United

Norwich will want to show their skills and will want points, so this is a tight game for Spurs. It will be an open game and I think Norwich will gain a respectable draw. 1-1.

Local derby and pride to play for. Both sides have done well this season and I think both will settle for a 1-1 draw.
