In this special edition of EvoqueMag we travel to the south of Spain for a few days to experience the rhythm of the “salero” and the intense heat of Sotogrande, an exclusive refuge in the beautiful region of Andalusia.

TO SOTOGRANDE IN ANDALUCIA, SPAIN!

Sotogrande is the largest private residential development in Andalusia, Spain. Originally a gated community, it is located in the municipality of San Roque and comprises an extension of 25 square kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, 2 5 kilometers east of Gibraltar to the foothills of the Sierra Almenara, offering contrasting views of the sea, hills, forests of cork trees and green fairways, including the Rock of Gibraltar and Morocco.

The Sotogrande area is known for its exuberant architecture and distinguished residents/owners, some of the richest people on the planet. In May 2006, Sotogrande was featured in The Times as having the most expensive homes in Europe. There are several artificial lakes, five golf courses, including the Valderrama Golf Club created by Jaime OrtizPatiño and the San Roque course. The port of Sotogrande was created in 1988. This is undoubtedly one of the noblest and most surprising areas in Spain and is clearly worth a visit.

The highlight of the many activities proposed by the Sotogrande complex has to go to “The Beach” by La Reserva Club, a luxurious retreat in the Andalusian hills and probably the most exclusive beach in Europe, where you can find, among many other things, the first freshwater complex and sandy bottom of Europe.

The facility offers a Beach Club, a huge lagoon ideal for water sports, as well as a high-level gastronomic offering with successful concepts, some of them innovative and others coming from different places. The kids, authentic gourmants, love the RUSTIC pizzas and the CHEAT hamburgers, all in a made fresh fast food concept. It couldn't have been better, fast, tasty and ideal for making the most of all the potential that the artificial lagoon has to offer.

Blua Blue is the exclusive water sports partner of La Reserva Club de Sotogrande and offers experiences such as jetboarding, SUP, kayaking and much more. A huge success that is also due to the excellent instructors.

The Beach is designed to bring families together, but there are ample opportunities for adults to relax and rejuvenate with spa treatments or classes taught by professional yoga instructors. There is also an adults-only swimming pool for those seeking calm and privacy. Here we spent what we call one of the best family days ever, it's good when a single place pleases young and old alike, it's a sign that the work is well done and that success is a reality. But we didn't stop at the beach. From the new tennis center we can enjoy a variety of racket sports and it was here that we had a Padel Tennis lesson with the mythical Carlos Navarro, who, with his patience and wisdom, made us look at sport in a different way. different.

We couldn't leave Sotogrande without a visit to the mythical and genuine beach restaurant, Trocadero, a jewel in Andalusia! A few kilometers from Gibraltar, in Sotogrande (San Roque) and located in what used to be the beach club "El Cucurucho", is Trocadero Sotogrande, also decorated by the master Lorenzo Queipo de Llano, who immediately captivates those who visit it. Mediterranean cuisine, beach, cocktails and views that do not disappoint are just some of the reasons why it is worth getting lost here. A space with two restaurants. The traditional Mediterranean, in the purest Trocadero style, and the Asian, open only in the summer months, where a mix of Thai and Japanese cuisine coexists perfectly.
