CAPELLA BANGKOK HOTEL
CAPELLA BANGKOK HOTEL
Return to Bangkok’s roots
Located in the emerging Charoenkrung district and on the east bank of the legendary Chao Phraya river, the new Hotel Capella Bangkok has become in a few weeks the focal point of the most exclusive.
Belonging to the visionary Singapore based Capella Hotel Group, this new hotel in the Thai capital has focused on creating highly authentic luxury experiences that reflect Bangkok's fascinating past. It is a boutique paradise that gives guests the magic of discovering the rich cultural and gastronomic heritage and all the charm of the emerging and eclectic neighborhood of Charoenkrung where it is located. And the dynamic and vibrant 'Cidade dos Anjos' makes that fascinating contrast between past and future be noticed in each of its corners: it grows with architectural projects typical of the first world and maintains the ancient oriental essence on its sidewalks.
Back to the past
Charoenkrung was one of Bangkok's main thoroughfares until the early 20th century, when trade and traffic still depended on the river. For centuries, the new settlers moored on the banks of the 'Rio dos Reis', bringing with them not only new thoughts and beliefs, but also new hopes and dreams that transformed this neighborhood into an effervescent melting pot of race, religion and cuisine that it maintains today. John Blanco, general manager of the hotel, is convinced that the resurgence of Charoenkrung, whether for art, entertainment or gastronomy, will contribute to the transformation of the city in the same way that the Meat Packing District did in its time in New York or Belém in Lisbon.
Multicultural street food
Guests can discover a wide variety of street food dishes and authentic recipes from Thailand and other countries and cultures. Thus, artisanal preparations of Chinese noodles, Southeast Asian satays or Indian curry pu ff s are mixed with classic local snacks, such as moo ping ( grilled pork skewers) and sai oua (Thai sausages) in street stalls that have passed through several generations from the same family, making it clear that the kitchen reflects the awakening of Charoenkrung. Unlike many districts in this sprawling metropolis, a strong sense of community identity is preserved here, making the focus on riverside life.
Villas overlooking the Chao Phraya Capella Bangkok, in addition to the 101 suites it offers, stands out as the first hotel in the capital to inaugurate the fi rst villas facing the river, located on the long awaited Chao Phraya property. Designed to evoke the feeling of a personal pied à terre with incredible river views from all rooms, this luxury property also offers Cote, an exclusive restaurant by the famous chef Mauro Colagreco owner of Mirazur on the Côte d'Azur, which with its three Michelin stars ranks first in the "50 best restaurants in the world" in San Pellegrino, which reinterprets French cuisine.
Hotel Capella Bangkok also has a traditional Thai food restaurant called Phra Nakhon, with a beautiful bar serving artisanal cocktails and personalized desserts called Stella and, of course, with several meeting spaces. The Living Room houses a variety of local artisans, music and samples of culinary tradition in a bright space overlooking the river.
It is known that the ancestral massages of this 'land of free men' (which is the meaning of Thailand) are the most requested, and in the wellness area of this hotel, Auriga, the star is a modality called Tok Sen, to which few resist.
